After more than a decade of building, the Indaina Kujira is born.
This beast of a technological wonder was first beta-tested in Kirigakure by the legendary puppeteer Shin Kazehana. The lessons that were learned during that battle were put to good use in building an entity capable of destroying a village. Previously the only force thought to be capable of such a feat were the Bijuu, constructs of pure chakra that were made by the Sage himself. However, Joki Indra had another vision. A Bijuu that was just as much a product of science as it was magic. An artificial Bijuu that could withstand even the strongest of armies. A Leviathan that could stalk the skies and lay waste to the decadent cesspits of the shinobi world. He would use it to rule the skies and torment the unworthy from above. It was to be the symbol of his new paradise and a warning to outworlders who dared to strike from the heavens. To fulfill this vision, Joki recruited the world's top minds, some by bribe and others by coercion. He set his army of scientists to work under the supervision of Menza who went as far as to put two former Kage to work on the task. The Shin and Nee-san were the world's foremost experts on puppetry and cybernetics. The trio toiled for weeks, months, and years on the project. Its power was kept a secret to almost all in the Society.
So committed to this vision was he, that he gave up his treasured friend to ensure that this Indaina Kujira could come to pass. And now, unleashed by the scientists of the Society, the Indaina Kujira rises from the Kaizoku Sea. Its rises into the air and locks in on its target. It yearns for the final piece to its completion. A gravity machine designed by Okane. Once taken it will give the Indaina Kujira the final boost it needs. With its prize claimed, it can destroy the floating symbol of shinobi solidarity and arrogance before moving on to Konoha, Suna, Iwa, Kiri, and Kumo. It will clear the way for the coming of the Disciples and the birth of a new era.
The Rise of the Indaina Kujira is the final mission in the War in Heaven ToW. It will pit the shinobi of the world against a flying artificial Bijuu. The beast has traveled to the Heavenly Emporium and now descends on the city above. It has claimed the source of the Emporium's power and now it is only a matter of time before the city plummets. While the machine assimilates into the Bijuu, there is a limited window of opportunity to strike. The beast must be brought down before it fully charges and leaves for the major villages. Unfortunately, The Indaina Kujira cannot be defeated by conventional means. It is too strong, too protected and too smart to be beaten by lobbing attacks against it mindlessly. Instead, bringing it down will require hitting critical areas of the monster and/or engaging in strategic maneuvers designed to compromise its ability to function.
Each of these zones are known as "Flashpoints" and they are listed below. The idea is that you create a thread or series of threads (where appropriate/necessary) detailing your excursion against the Indaina Kujira. Completing the objective for each Flashpoint may require specific skills, stats or abilities. Thus defeating this threat will require the world to draw on the talent of many different types of shinobi.
If you successfully complete a Flashpoint, you will be able to choose from a slate of rewards. Please keep in mind a few more caveats regarding this mission:
1. While you find you may be able to help with multiple Flashpoints either by possessing a breadth of skills or having many alts, its important not to hog them. There should be more than enough to go around but we ask that you still be judicious and considerate when taking on Flashpoints.
2. Quality above all. There is no word count or post count but your ability to claim from the slate of awards relies on: Good storytelling, roleplaying well with others and making this event a positive experience.
3. This mission will run for about one month. The Indaina Kujira is declared to have been successfully defeated if 50% of the Flashpoint objectives are accomplished.
4. If the Indaina Kujira is not defeated within this timeframe, it will escape and attack one of the major villages. It will manage to destroy at least 50% of said village before players have a chance to bring it down once more.
This event will end on December 24, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST
1. Operation Shieldbreaker w/ Kitsuki Kurahasa COMPLETED
- Quark-Transmodifier:
- The Indaina Kujira's physics-defying possibility of generating excess matter from raw materials is a small but vital part of its endless puppet producing ability. Without this particle cruncher, the Performance of 10,000 Puppets is deeply compromised. This mechanical structure is not discrete, it sits towards the tail end of the beast and glows with an ominous red. It is protected by a ceaseless shield. It would take a significant amount of brute force power to break through the shield and damage the transmodifer.
Objective: Break the Quark Transmodifier with an X-Tier Strength attack or two S-Tier Strength strikes from two different PCs
2. Operation: Element-ary Destruction w/ Arisu Ōtsutsuki & Valen Minamoto COMPLETED
- Radonsphere:
- The Radonsphere is a universal element device. Utilizing the Radonsphere, Indaina Kujira is capable of firing attacks from every basic element and in some cases advanced elements. This object is located on the creature's underbelly. The Radonsphere can be overcharged and thus made to temporarily short-circuit if hit with a strong enough iteration of each basic element.
Objective: Hit the Radonsphere with an S-Rank Fire, Wind, Water, Earth and Lightning attack at the same time.
3. The Only Way: Bulk Apperception w/ Nyguyen Uchiha (deceased) & Kimiko Uchiha; COMPLETED
- Bulk Apperception:
- Bulk Apperception is the name of a complex series of carbon fiber and Steel Release encased wiring that runs down the monster's spine. These wires carry electrical signals throughout the beast's body essentially forming a complex neurological system. The wires are protected by a metal sheathing with a material so fine and difficult to compromise it would require heat of a fairly high magnitude. Once the sheath is destroyed, the wiring will be exposed to the heat and thus damage the beast.
Objective: X-Tier Power Fire Release Technique or two shots with an S-Rank Advanced Release heated-based Ninjutsu to melt through and damage the wires.
4. Eternal Turbine: Flashpoint w/ Kanara, Jin, Satomi and Yuichi COMPLETED
- Eternal Turbine:
- A mecha this big generates a lot of heat and thus requires a proportional method of cooling down. The mecha "sweats" via a fan propelled through the mystic-science of perpetual motion. For as long as it exists, the fans will not stop running. This eternal fan is operated by a series of two turbines that move at millions of cycles per second. The fans alternate and change from clockwise to counter-clockwise making it nearly impossible to predict when and which direction they flow currents in. One would need to be able to analyze and predict high speed physical movement with surgical precision in order to determine a weak point in its directionality.
Objective: Four pairs of Tomoe 2 or higher Sharingan must analyze the Eternal Turbines, time the directionality perfectly and then launch an B-Rank attack.
5. Operation: Mental Omega w/ Diana COMPLETED
- Terminal Velocity:
- The Indaina Kujira is a sentient being. It is aware of itself in relation to the world. This ability alone makes it one of the most dangerous puppets of all time. A self aware yet synthetic mind is much more lethal than one that is governed by the instincts of a beast. Two of the most important computational terminals responsible for this feature rely at the base of the Indaina Kujira's head. The terminals can be interfaced with by a person and it was the mechanism by which the Indira's creators hardcoded its intelligence. A person of sufficient intelligence can "hack" into this terminal using a combination of wit, Fuuinjutsu, and perception. They cannot disconnect the creature's mind but they can manipulate certain values so as to create emotional responses. An emotional opponent is an opponent liable to make mistakes.
Objective: Get on the Indaina Kujira's back and wreck its mind. You will need: (1) Fuuinjutsu and (2) Either S-Tier Intelligence and A-Tier Perception or S-Tier Perception and A-Tier Intelligence. Stats can be boosted for this mission.
6. Nature vs Nurture w/ Ryuko & Suguru COMPLETED
- Cursed Organelle:
- This is an internal organ housed in thorax of the artificial Bijuu. This organ was synthesized with a combination of Fuuinjutsu and Cursed One DNA. It is capable of absorbing Natural Energy and distributing throughout its body. This organ can be damaged by overloading it with natural energy and then hitting it with a natural energy enfused attack.
Objective: Spend 50 points of Sage chakra/Natural Energy to overload the Cursed Organelle. Then hit it with a Sage energy enfused attack of some kind.
7. Demonic Cytokine: Flashpoint w/ Sero & Katsumi COMPLETED
- Demonic Cytokine:
- This is an internal organ housed in abdoment of the artificial Bijuu. This organ was synthesized with Bijuu flesh and is powered by the dark energy of the Eight Tails. It provides a veritable source of Bijuu chakra for the beast to utilize. This organ can be damaged by overloading it with Bijuu chakra and then hitting it with a Bijuu-based attack (Bijuu Bomb, Unique Ability associated with Bijuu, explosion, V2 claw swipe, etc)
Objective: Spend 50 points of Bijuu chakra/Demonic energy to overload the Demonic Cytokine. Then hit it with a Bijuu energy enfused attack of some kind.

- Mass Projection:
- The eyes of Indaina Kujira are capable of mass projecting Genjutsu over entire areas. It scans chakra signatures, develops an illusion to fit its target's specific psychological profile and then mass casts the Genjutsu on an area. This can cause hysteria on a scale hitherto undreamt of. Luckily, the scanners can be disrupted by a strong enough Genjutsu one targeted towards a critical part of its "brain."
Objective: Stop the public panic by using the Sensory Skill to scan the Indaina Kujira's eyes for a weak point in its processors (requires a base of A-Tier Intelligence), cast an S-Rank illusion to distract it and then strike it with an S-Rank Speed technique to temporarily disable its projector capabilities.
9. Operation Heavenly Storm w/ Shimiko COMPLETED
- Temperature Regulator:
- The internal temperature of the Catalyst is carefully regulated by a modulator contained in the lower corner of its left wing. This regulator keeps the monster from overheating and is connected to its immune system. Hitting it with an weather related attack (Ice Release, Storm Release, Wind Release, Scorch Release etc) will disrupt the regulator and cause it to malfunction
Objective: Hit the Temperature Regulator with a S-Rank element related to weather.
10. Operation: Crystal Paramour w/ Diana & Sayuri COMPLETED
- Inner Core:
- The Indaina Kujira is capable of launching out hundreds of smaller puppets onto the battlefield that are controlled by it telepathically. This gives it an inexhaustible amount of allies ensuring that it will always win in a war of attrition. This inner core must be destroyed if the monster is to be defeated. Through an escape hatch located towards the back of its thorax, one can enter into the beast to reach the Inner Core. This part is responsible for manufacturing the puppets and then releasing them. By annihilating it, you rob the Indaina Kujira of its ability to make of its spawn.
Objective: Enter into the Indaina Kujira's Inner Core. Navigating through the complex circuitry will require someone with the Kugutsu Skill. Once you reach the Inner Core, it is important to note that it cannot be destroyed from without. One must enter the core itself and hit it with an S-Rank attack. Unfortunately, the Inner Core's assembly process can break someone down at a cellular level. Only those with a base Constitution of S-Tier OR an entity level regeneration ability can survive the continuous damage wrought by the Inner Core. Once destroyed, the Kujira will forcibly eject you from its framework so if you might want to have a way to make a soft landing or have someone catch you.
11. Operation: Rotor Recall w/ Irui & Diana COMPLETED
- Dialframe:
- The Indaina Kujira 's wings are operated by a complex serials of dials, propulsion vents, and combustion engines. This system is known as the Dialframe and it was designed to be impervious to the vast majority of Ninjutsu. Using the Dialframe, the Indaina Kujira can hover, float and fly. It can even enter space. While the Indaina Kujira charges up, its Dialframe is vulnerable. Dust Release can crack its surface, Scorch Release can rust and scald its vents beyond repair and Dark Release can foul up the combustion engines which draw power from the Gravity Matrix. Once the wings are badly enough damaged, use a set of chakra strings to infiltrate the inner section and turn the dials off. This will limit the beast's manuevrability and make more complicated forms of flight (super-sonic, space, teleportation, etc).
Objective: Break the Dialframe with an S-Rank Scorch, Dust, or Dark Release technique then use Chakra Strings to permanently cripple it
12. Carbonium Vascular System: Flashpoint w/ Tadara & Alois COMPLETED
- Carbonium Vascular System:
- The Indaina Kujira has metric-tons of various fluids pumping throughout its system at any given moment. The piping system is largely sealed off from other parts of the Bijuu which makes it difficult to affect. It would take a unique chemical to get through the dense skin of the beast without detecting its sensors and clog or otherwise compromise the complex network of piping within the monster.
Objective: Use your knowledge of the Chemistry Skill (base B-Tier Intel minimum) to concoct a substance capable of seeping through the Indaina Kujira's skin without it noticing and corroding its delicate piping apparatus.
13. Operation: Princess Pincer w/ Arisu & Kitsuki IN PROGRESS
- Brain & Uvala Longata:
- The Indaina Kujira 's brain is massive and it is housed in a thick exoskeleton of a head. It is chakra-repellant thereby making it invulnerable to most forms of penetration. Nee-san and Shin boasted that nothing on this Earth could get through it and no Doujutsu on Earth can see through it. However, that was before the out-worlders came. An Ōtsutsuki can use their Rinnegan's Chakra Visualization to see the weak point in the back of the Bijuu's skull. They can then lodge a chakra rod into that point and temporarily interface with it. This gives the Indaina Kujira a mild stroke and its mouth will open revealing yet another weak point: Uvula Longata. A uvuala like organ which gathers energy to fire in the form of beams. It is extremely destructive and if destroyed will greatly weaken the monster's offensive capacity.
Objective: Locate the weak point in the Indaina Kujira's brain using Chakra Visualization, stab the back of the Indaina Kujira's head with a Chakra Rod and reveal the Uvula Longata. An archer with the Kyujutsu Skill must then hit it with a A-Tier piercing bow attack.
14. Twin Blades of Lightning: Dragoon Batteries w/ Kagura & Seid COMPLETED
- Dragoon Batteries:
- The Indaina Kujira is powered by a set of Dragoon Batteries. Invented by Okane, the Society stole these designs and put them to work feeding the Giga-Cube. Together, the two systems create a never ending power supply. These batteries are located in the Indaina Kujira's heart. Because of their high level of importance, they are protected by a set of flying puppets. They are an elite guard that are specifically designed to catch their pray and keep them from the center chest cavity which houses the batteries. If you can hit S-Rank Speed and S-Rank Coordination then there is no hope of defeating these monstrosities. If you manage to beat them, you'll still have to overload the Dragoon Batteries overloading them with an obscene amount of chakra.
Objective: Use S-Rank Speed and Coordination (can be boosted) to avoid and ultimately defeat the protectors. If you manage that, you'll need to then infuse 300 CP into the chest cavity of the Indaina Kujira to overload the Dragoon Batteries.
15. Operation: Sibling Bonding w/ Kara & Tamwyn COMPLETED
- Black Lungs:
- This is by far the most mysterious part of the Indaina Kujira.
Only two people know the function and operation of the Black Lungs and one of them is Joki himself. A mysterious individual claims to have inside knowledge of how the Black Lungs operate. They claim that they have placed a kill switch in one of the lungs that is set to activate upon their command. All they ask in return is a few favors: capture one of the Xeno-beasts and with the help of a Master-crafter use their exo-skeleton to craft a sword according to a set of specific instructions. Once the sword is created take it to one of several drop-off locations during a specified timeframe. Unfortunately, all of the drop-off locations are many miles away and conventional travel of any kind would ensure the deadline is missed.
Objective: Grab a Xeno-beast and have a Master-crafter make a sword from its hide. Then use the teleportation ability to take it to one of several possible drop-off locations.
16.
- Giga-Cube:
- The Giga-Cube is an over-sized cube designed to house a Bijuu. This Bijuu is then compressed turned into a living battery for the Indaina Kujira. With the Dragoon Batteries, it is capable of providing limitless power to the Indaina Kujira. The Eight Tails is locked in a perpetual Genjutsu with a high-tech Virtual Reality system essentially keeping it in stasis while its power used. The Giga-Cube is contained in the bowels of the creature and requires one to enter via an exhaust-waste pipe to reach the Giga-Cube. You must then utilize your knowledge of Genjutsu to enter into the Gyuuki's dream world mind convince it to break free and finally show the world the might of the Eight Tails.
Objective: Use your advanced knowledge of anatomy to navigate through the bespoke innards of the Bijuu (Ijutsu required) and then using Genjutsu (w/ base A-Tier Intelligence) to convince the monster to break free and assist in the fight against the Catalyst.
17. Operation: Soundwave w/ Ryuko & Naganori COMPLETED
- Kino-Vestibular Network:
- The Indaina Kujira's sense of motion, balance and hearing far outstrip that of the other Bijuu. This is due to a combination of off-world technology, genetic engineering and never-before-seen radar technology. The bulk of this Network is located in the two antlers spread out above the creatures head. At the end of each antler is a shielded satellite that acts as the interface between the outside world and the Kino-Vestibular Network. The shield is not easily penetrated and even afterwards it would take a powerful sound based attack to throw off the Indaina Kujira's senses.
Objective: Pierce the shield with an X-Grade Quality Weapon and then disrupt the network with an A-Rank or higher Sound attack.
18. Gravity Matrix: Flashpoint w/ Katsumi & Kaida COMPLETED
- Gravity Matrix:
- This behemoth of a device is located in the center of the Indaina Kujira's chin. It is a bulging piece of flesh that is responsible for the Indaina Kujira's gravity defying abilities. The matrix, however, is incomplete. While the Indaina Kujira can float and fly, its far slower than it ought to be. For all their genius, its creators failed to construct a central control mechanism capable of producing limitless zero-G. Fortunately, someone else was. The power that gives the Heavenly Emporium its ability to float has been coopted by the Society and assimilated into the Indaina Kujira's framework. The gravity natural bends and shifts attacks away from it, making it impossible to to hit with a direct attack. Instead, one must infiltrate the matrix with a technique that defies the concept of unidirectionality.
Objective: Utilize a free-form manipulation technique or a small enough summon (Kikaichu beetles/bees) to infiltrate the matrix and stall the assimilation process.
19.
- Unlikely Ally:
- The hordes of puppets and Xeno-beasts are threatening to overwhelm the evacuation zones. The shinobi are fighting valiantly but the enemy is too numerous and the gravity effects are too destabilizing to guarantee the people's safety. An unlikely ally has contacted SHIRA and offered to help "clear out the rubbish" but he requires a hefty sum. They have requested coal. A lot of coal. 15 Million Ryo's worth. Destiny thus calls someone with the finances, logistical capacity and manpower to make this happen in a short timeframe. There is reason to believe the ally's help is worth it but ultimately someone or some group is going to have to cut the check.
Objective: Someone with control over an organization with a Large base must organize the deliver of the coal to a secret location. The cost of the coal is 15 Million Ryo.
20. Requires 50% completion
- Final Blow:
- The Indaina Kujira has been critically weakened. Time to deliver the final blow!
Objective: Use a Kaijuu-sized blow (Tail Beast Mode, Boss Summon, Tate Eiboshi etc) to sock the Indaina Kujira in the jaw and bring it down once and for all.
