Two Minutes to Midnight

Ren would inhale a slow deep breath as he did his best to steady his heartbeat as he waited outside of the Hokage's office. It wasn't the first time he had been there, and he doubted it would be the last, but so much had happened in recent days that it had his nerves on end. He had planned for this conversation to take place with Airi after he had returned from his mission to Iwagakure, however considering the recent arrest he had made in the Mist ninja as well as Airi's sudden step down from Hokage, there were things that he felt could not wait. He wasn't a fan of the fact that Tengoku had returned to his former position of Hokage after Airi, considering how things happened between the two of them the last time he encountered the man, however he wasn't in a position to argue with the reigns of the village and he was still a loyal soldier of the village. He only had two questions for the man, with any luck the conversation would be brief and he could go on with his mission, if there was still a mission. That was one of the things he needed to speak with the Hokage about, the other was his position within the village itself, but for now he would simply wait to see Tengoku.

Still in Mayfly, Diana had wanted to first check out what was going on with the leadership within the nation she was currently at odds with. With her sensory activated she had been expecting to sense the familiar signature of Airi back from when she had met the woman at the gate, but instead she found nothing, and her negative sensory also came back with no response. Was she out of the office right now? It was an odd one, but it wasn't something she had expected as she hadn't picked up any signature of hers on the way over either.

What did catch her attention though was at first a shinobi who had a large amount of chakra, but as she slipped through the floor she realized that it was Ren Uchiha; a man who she was well aware about thanks to his impressive feats. There were rumors about him carrying the mythical Mangekyou Sharingan alongside being yet another contender for the claim of 'Sage of Six Paths'. That latter one she was particularly curious about as a follower of Ninshū, but she knew she'd have to hold off on looking into that until tensions calmed down or they heated up and she was forced to fight. Hopefully it would be the former. By the sage she'd love to peek into his memories to see if the rumors were true; but patience was a virtue for a reason. Still, given he was standing outside of what was pretty clearly the Hokage's office, she figured she could stay for a little bit, if only to just see why he was here and to see how Hokage Ohara was doing before she moved on.

Tengoku had taken back to the office after Airi's mysterious circumstances had left him with the responsibility he had attempted to retire from once again. He was fairly mournful of the fact that he had to be here once again for multiple reasons. However he would be settling into his duties once more when he was informed he had a visitor. A jounin of all people he had little love for after their last encounter. The man had badmouthed his student and he had lost his temper. So they had tension between them now. However Ren was a potent man and incredibly useful to the village. Having brought him rain and wolf. Not many other Jounin were so useful. Still the last time they had met had Tengoku on edge. With Uchiha they could become a threat within an instant. Though Ren did not specialize in Genjutsu...he was a fighter. So the usual chakra sensory wouldn't benefit him as well as another technique he had created. Electroperception. Allowing him to read the bioelectrical stimuli of living beings and predict their next moves as they think it. He would activate it and pick up everyone in the buildings electrical currents. Finishing before he informed them to show Ren in. However Tengoku was not intelligent enough to know the entire floor plan of the building. If Diana didn't move through the building to be close enough that he could tell they were in the immediate surrounding structure of the room he wouldn't know someone was hiding in the walls. What she would know however was his chakra was ridiculous. Tengoku was sitting at 780 chakra.


The office itself wrapped around a section of the building. Both walls lined with a series of grey filing cabinets above a white rug. Between the door and the desk were two identical black couches with a clear glass table between them. Plenty of walking space to either go through or around the set up. On the glass table was a single bow with a quiver of arrows spread around it made of chakra draining metal from Iwagakure. The bow in its collapsed state and on a mount for display with the arrows in a circle pointing in toward it.

On the other side of the guest lounge was a single Senju wood desk of considerable length and size. On the side of it facing the door were two fairly comfortable but basic metal and leather chairs. Across from those behind the desk was a large and old leather chair. A preference of the man who sat in the chair. Behind him was a black and red Tetsudashi steel Katana made by Masaru hanging on a weapons rack on the wall. Under it was a silver wakizashi made by the crafter Kara and rumored to match artifacts in ability. On a pedestal beneath the weapons rack held a legendary gourd of the hero's water. Finally under it hung the Hokages hat and cloak. Combat boots over shinobi pants decorated his legs. Tengoku himself sat behind his desk in the old red leather chair. He was wearing sleeveless white robes with gold trim. Golden feathered rings decorated his upper arms, wrists and if one could see them...his ankles. A black sword belt held his cloak closed at the waist. On one side of his desk was a Bin for approved paperwork and the other denied paperwork. A stack in the center to get through. Tengoku himself was a tall man with waist length white hair and a taijutsu build to him. Toned but clearly muscular. His white wolf like ears popped out from his hair atop his head. Hanging loose around him.

Should Ren enter he would focus on the passive electro perception and be on guard for any moves to attack. His black and gold eyes focusing on the man as he settled into his chair and leaned back. Lifting one knee over the other and folding his hands on it. Still ready to move or counter at a moments notice. Still he would merely frown and check his tone. Making sure not to appear to hostile himself. Clearing his throat if Ren entered as they were 'alone' for the time being.

"Uchiha Ren, to what do I owe the pleasure today?"

780/780:

Ren would be dressed in the Battle Kisode and Boots of Silence that Airi had made for him with the Sweetsilk cloak bearing the Uchiha clan crest on the back of it drapped over his shoulders. The Salamander Summoning Contract scroll strapped along the back of his hip concealed ever so slightly by the cloak, as well as the various small ninja tools that were stuck within the cloak, he wasn't much for weapons and ninja tools preferring to let his jutsu do the work for him, however since he acquired the Uchiha Gunbai it had been a favorite of his. The Gunbai currently within the Kamui Dimension, though he could summon it to his hand instantly if the need arose for him to do so. A Jade pendant hanging from his neck could just be seen above his Kisode, and Nesaku's Coil on his right ring finger, the Three Tomoe Sharingan visible as he rarely did not have it active in recent days.

As Ren entered the room, he would frown at the fact of how quickly things had changed back within the room. It was as if Tengoku had never left office, with no sign of Airi left within, as if she hadn't even been there. Containing a sigh as he moved through the guest lounge and straight to the desk where Tengoku sat, his movement wasn't fast nor hostile, but gave a sense that he wanted to get whatever this was over with quickly. Standing a few feet in front of the desk, Ren would answer the question. "I promise not to take up a lot of your time, however while Airi was in office she had assigned a mission, two actually. I need to know if those missions are still to be completed or not, if they are then I would like to request that I complete them solo as I work faster by myself." His tone was calm yet held a sense of self-inflated importance, "another thing I wish to ask. Due to my recent help in preventing the escapes of the fugitives under Airi's orders, as well as my past service for the village, I would like to request joining the Anbu."

Ren would fall silent after his request to join the black ops, standing at attention like a dutiful soldier of the village, though his eyes were still closely watching Tengoku. He could feel the presence of the man's chakra spread throughout the room, and considering how he left things with the man before, Ren was just waiting for a sign that he would need to defend himself from the man once more. He had planned on asking to join the Anbu after his return from the other missions, but considering Airi wasn't around anymore he didn't see the harm and asking beforehand, if there even was still a mission.

Instead of sensing Airi inside the office, Diana sensed a different person, someone who she hadn't sensed yet but as she turned her focus on them there was a great sense of alarm in her mind. She hadn't met the Paladin of Konoha before, but she was aware that the man was strong. One had to be when one was a Kage, If he was here instead of Airi...it was safe to assume that she was currently out of commission. In a way that was...good? Yeah good in the pyrrhic way, it could still be bad as she didn't know much about how Tengoku felt about her. There was also the fact he was openly broadcasting his nature as a Jinchūriki to any sensor in the area; the hateful chakra just out in the open. Were she not acclimated to sensing negative emotions, she'd've probably needed to back off for a bit, but thankfully she could hold herself together.

Continuing to watch from inside the floor outside of the office, she'd sense his activation of a technique, one that were it not for the raiton affiliation she'd've normally assumed to be their own form of sensory. No, it was definitely a different type of sensory, one she could assume was using electric signals, but nothing more then that for now. Something to look into maybe in the future.

As Tengoku called in Ren, she'd watch and listen in with her mayfly sensory from the next room over (still hidden in the wooden floor), but as Ren went over his reason for being there, she no longer had a reason to stay around. It was probably for the best that it wasn't anything interesting anyways; after all this was only meant to be a detour to her actual focus. Airi wasn't there and she had the answer for Ren's reason; if she wanted to dig deeper that'd require her to surface, which would expose her. It was tempting to look more into why Tengoku used that sensory tech and what he had sealed within him, but with her curiosity sated she'd quickly slip away back into Konoha proper.

Tengoku would note as Ren would enter and speak the electrical signal abruptly was gone. He doubted anyone was capable of simply turning off his ability to sense their bioelectricity so he had to assume it was a teleportation technique. Very few people in the village were listed as capable with such techniques. Still it was possible it was someone else from their forces as he didn't have his chakra sensory running at the same time. He could not notice the lack of chakra signature at the same time. So as there was no way to pursue it or investigate it for the time being he would simply keep an eye out for repeats of the oddity. Still he had more pressing matters anyway. His eyes shifted back to Ren with that Sharingan activated. It was like the guy was holding the strongest sword he could find and pointing it at Tengoku. However Tengoku could not blame him as his own Dojutsu held no visual signs itself when it wasn't active. However by now it was fairly known that those black eyes with gold crosses would spread intricate seals across his person should he activate it. Besides the Uchiha were the most prominent clan and it was not uncommon for them to come into his office with it active apparently.

Still the mention of not taking up much of his time to discuss two missions he had been given would perk those white wolf like ears. He had heard the premise of both but not the details from Airi at one point. But not much documentation was to be had on either. With them holding the kiri prisoners and waiting for word from an otherwise silent allied village...he worried for Kiyoshi's safety. A part of him was tempted to send Ren to collect their valuable crafter first but this had taken too long already. He would only have to hope that Kiri had not become openly hostile with them. Rain was such a pain in that regard. Still he would listen to the final request before taking a breath and reaching for a form and a pen. He would write a letter of introduction to one of the ANBU captains and have Ren assigned a code name and a uniform. Speaking as he began to write.

"For the ANBU request I believe you are more than capable. I will write you a letter of introduction and you may direct your career that direction if you so wish. I myself was a tracker nin for the ANBU before I was named Hokage. It's a matter of pride that I consider myself one of the best trackers in the world. As for the other two missions....I want more details of what has been asked of you. I know Airi wanted Diana to answer for something and to acquire land. I won't have innocents slaughtered for profit so I would be sending you with a very full pocket book. Making you a target....and Iwa may very well be hostile towards us so its unsafe to go alone. So explain to me your understanding of your missions and I have already taken the liberty of summoning for an old friend to accompany you." He had sent for Zenaku the moment Ren had walked into the administration building. He had suspected this would be in regards to Iwa. There was still so much turmoil over the rapid change in hands over the Hokages hat. He had barely begun his retirement when he had to step back into it. Still he would not let his tone waver when speaking to Ren.

It was odd that zenaku had just came out of his coma and already he recived a letter from the hokage to come to his office. Using his fast speed the young Uchiha swiftly made his way though the Forrest where he was training though out konoah and finally arriving at the hokages building. Rubbing the back of his head zenaku walked up the steps and walked up to the hokages door. He made sure to knock on the door before he opened it. If the hokage was still tengoku he don't think he could that zenaku just walked in after two knocks on ththe door. 

" Zenaku uchiha reporting for duty sir. Also long time no see tengoku you seem to be doing well. " 

As zenaku entered the room he noticed there was another person standing there. He could also tell that this was a Uchiha like his self only cause he had his sharringan was active. Zenaku noticed that tengoku has a thing with the uchihas.

A smile would flash on Ren's face for the briefest of moments, before it would slowly disappear as Tengoku continued speaking. It wasn't the part about explaining the missions that bothered him, it was more of the fact that to Ren it seemed as though Tengoku wasn't confident in his abilities to allow him to go alone and felt the need to call someone else in for the mission. Zenaku's arrival was a surprise to Ren, considering the last he had heard the former clan leader was in a coma. While he knew that a Jinchuriki could be beneficial on the mission if things got heated, in the back of his mind he couldn't help but feel that he was getting sucked into another babysitting situation like what Airi had originally stuck him with Hanabi. Sure, Zenaku was a capable Shinobi, and he had many accomplishments under his belt just as Ren had, but considering the fact that he just recovered from the coma it felt more like it was a test for to see if he was still capable, putting Ren in the position as babysitter as he would be responsible to look after the man if something happened and he wasn't fully recovered. Ren would stifle his thoughts, bringing a silence to his inner objections of being saddled with another partner and answer Tengoku's questions about the missions.

"The missions, as explained by Airi, was originally that Hanabi and I were supposed to deliver an ultimatum to the Tsuchikage. Diana was to surrender herself to us and accompany us back here to face charges of stealing secrets from the mind of a Aburame as well as Hanabi before disappearing without a trace, the last time the Tsuchikage had come to the village. If the Tsuchikage refused to come back with us then she would face war, however I believe that to be a bluff on Airi's part as she felt certain that the Tsuchikage would not wish for mindless bloodshed. As for the second mission, after I returned either Hanabi to the village with the Tsuchikage or word of the Tsuchikage's answer, I was to go out and acquire land. This is due to the actions of our so-called allies within the village hidden in the mist that stole Rain from out from under us and have been buying a lot of land near our boarders, I was to get in alone and assess the situation within the land and if possible, take the land from them. No money will be needed, and no innocence were to be hurt. It is a simple matter of me eliminating any enemy forces and taking the land under our protection, starting with the land of Rain. As for myself becoming a target from hostile's either in Iwa or in any other country, you need not worry about me. I have acquired many capabilities since my rise to Jounin, even since our last encounter." Ren's eye would narrow slightly as he spoke about their last encounter, the words dripping with enough distaste that Zenaku would likely get the sense that it wasn't a pleasant one. "In addition to being the host of the power of the sage of the Six Paths and able to teleport wherever I wish to in the world, I can safely say that nothing of this world can touch me if I do not wish it to."

The last part of his statement would likely come off as arrogance, but his recent mastery of his Kamui technique made it true. Of course, Ren did not explain how he was able to do what he said he could do, but if either of the men knew of his former Sensei's ability with Kamui then they would likely know at least some about Kamui. Though he knew that Zenaku would know, he wasn't sure how familiar Tengoku would have been with Satomi before his retirement and disappearance.

Tengoku would smile as Zenaku entered. He looked healthy if not a little skinny. His time in a coma had not suited him. However he would be relieved to see an old friend once more. Still he would nod and smile in return to the comment of him looking well. He had matured a little since Zenaku had gone under. Perfecting his sage mode and now with the land of Wolves scouted as he had originally intended for Zenaku to do alone....he had the power of Roen under his belt. Yet of the three in the room he could not for certain state which held more power. Still he would only respond with a smile and a nod of acknowledgment before turning to listen to the report given by Ren. He noted the passive aggressive tone and the narrowing of the eyes. However he wasn't certain he liked what Airi had planned. Stealing land from Kirigakure would definitely mean war. He was concerned with how quickly his successor had been ready to dive into a world war when he had spent his entire time in his seat striving for peace. She was such an angry woman. Still many of their powerful people had recently died or gone into a coma and he had no way of knowing the state Kiri was in.

Tengoku would take a breath at the mention of their last encounter. He wasn't Ren's biggest fan. Overconfidence oozed off the man and hate was worn like shield against others. This wasn't uncommon in the upper echelon of the Uchiha. Their most powerful member often cold and callous as Ren and Shimiko were. Even if he was confident no one could actually touch him Tengoku doubted that highly. No one was completely invincible. Not even himself. Still he would clear his throat and sit forward. His arms resting on his desk. His eyes switching to each of them before he would speak in return.

"I am not looking to start a war with Kiri at this point in time. Of the major powers only three truly remain. Kirigakure, Iwagakure and ourselves. Traditionally when we went up against two nations at once we would lose ground. However Diana did commit some serious crimes. I would like to see her answer for them. However another offer should be presented to Iwa. Allow them to join under our governing state as part of Konoha's lands peacefully. Much like how Kumogakure was absorbed by Kirigakure when it fell. Diana will still be asked to answer for her crimes but whoever would be in place after her should be given the option of peaceful assimilation. As for the second mission I will replace it with a rather simple directive. Before the two of you head to Iwagakure I ask that you first seek out Waves and purchase it. I will grant you permission to take eight point five million to buy it. It is a small nation but should war break out it would be a crucial staging point. Whatever is left over you may split among yourselves as payment. Then head directly to Iwa from there. Are there further questions or concerns?"

Zenaku would listen carefully for the sole matter that he really had no clue as to what was going on. Apparently, there was another hokage after tengoku, but now it seems that tengoku is back in the seat. That means either someone or something happened to the former hokage, and tengoku had to step up to the plate once more. Or she was forced down from being hokage tho that wouldn't be the first time that it had happened in the village. This Ren uchiha looked familiar and if zenaku was not mistaken he was at the last uchiha meeting but if his memory served him right Ren was jujust a genin then meaning he had come a long way while he was in his comatose state. 




Ren would then go on to explain the situation that the former hokage had given him. The mission was for him and hanabi to go see the tsuchikage and get her to surrender for crimes she had done. Ren also said that the rain village had been stolen out from under them by the hidden mist, and his other mission after coming back from iwa was to go grab up some land. 


The hokage did not wish to start a war after he had spent so long trying to maintain peace between the major villages of power. There was the hidden mist, the hidden stone, and the hidden leaf. Tengoku would give advice which was instead of war offer iwa to merge with the hidden leaf much like the hidden mist did with the hidden cloud village.  Tengoku would then tell the two that before heading out to iwa, they should stop by the land of waves and try to buy it. 


" I agree with you there Tengoku with the natural defenses that waves has already, it's in the perfect spot to hold the enemy off just in case war does break out. " 


The hokage had asked them if they had any more questions or concerns tho zenaku could not think of any. the Mission seemed pretty up front, buy some land and tell the Tsuchikage to surrender.  Tho whither or not she surrender is still a concern to wonder about.  


" So what if the Tsuchikage refuses to surrender.  Do we just leave or do we bring her in by force if needed." 


Zenaku would ask. he wanted to make sure to have all angles checked before something like this.

Ren would do his best to stifle his disagreement with Tengoku, while he understood not wanting to start a war, it was Ren's opinion that Kiri had started it the moment they stole their land. It was a sign of weakness to no retaliate, and it was that kind of inaction that made Ren feel that someone would likely capitalize upon such weakness. It would not be farfetched at all in his mind to think that Kirigakure seeing no response to their taking of land from Konoha to launch a full-scale attack, but it was not his place to question the leadership of the village. He would keep his doubts to himself, at least for now. Ren highly doubted that if someone replace Diana, they would be willing to subjugate their people to Konoha rule for a third time willingly, the two nations did not have the best history, but he would try it Tengoku's way at the very least. If it turned out that they refused, like Ren believed they would. Well, they would cross that bridge when they got there, Ren just had to hope that it wouldn't be too late and cause harm to the people within the land of fire. While he could agree that the land of waves would make a good staging point in case of war, with Kiri owning so much of the continent from their takeover of Kumogakure and its territory, they could already have a full force within the land of Hot springs and just be waiting for a signal to start an attack. As Tengoku would finish and ask if they had any questions, as Zenaku asked his question about what they were to do if the Tsuchikage refused, Ren was reminded of when the similar question was asked of Airi and he wondered how Tengoku would respond to it. Ren doubted the man would authorize use of force considering he was all about peace, but he would wait until after Tengoku answered before he would finally speak.

"So we are to do nothing about the Land of Rain? I swore to the people of that village that they would have our protection, and we just turn on backs on them at the drop of a hat. We let Kiri get away with stealing our territory, act like nothing happened, all for the sake of peace? I understand you not wanting to start a war but open your eyes, the war was started the moment they moved against us. Airi saw that, why can't you?" Ren would do his best to keep his tone calm, but there would be small points where his voice would break, and his anger would show. He didn't like the idea of not showing retribution to Kirigakure, he believed that they deserved to pay for it.

Tengoku would listen to each of them in turn. First was Zenaku as he spoke of the defenses and the value of it. Then his question about what to do if Diana refused settled on his wolf like ears. His black and gold eyes shifting to the man. Something had changed about Tengoku since the last they met. It would be obvious that somehow he was stronger. He had become something more while Zenaku slept. He would take a breath and consider his response before his eyes shifted to the harsh tone from Ren. Narrowing at the mans outburst. He had come to think of himself as untouchable. So his inner voice was more prevalent now. Tengoku could hear the frustration and anger there. He could feel the tension in the room increasing. But he had already reached out and almost struck the man once. Now he wasn't so sure he didn't want to strike him. To teach him some humility. However little would be accomplished by hitting one of his own. Still he a low growl of warning found its way from his throat. It was clear he was displeased at the tone being used in his office. Being used against him.

He heard droplets of rain hit the window. His attention breaking away after staring at Ren in silence a moment. He would take a breath and silently rise from his seat before quietly walking over to the window. The winds were blowing the leaves around the streets and people were rushing inside from the cold rain. A people he cared more for than the land they had sought after. His hands folded behind his back as the air seemed to respond to his ire. A clash of lightning struck a absorption rod meant to absorb such things in a storm to protect people and structures. He would let himself turn as he spoke with the next clash of lightning shadowing his features.

"I am not blind but optimism in people has always been my weakness. A paladin protects those he is bound to. As I am bound to this village. I had hoped to retire and the peace I had hoped for to last. Perhaps even one day forming a unity peacefully. There is a report that came in from a crafter I sent to sky for an auction about an enemy force coming soon. Something beyond our usual disputes. They had sworn to stand unified against that force...I had hoped this meant this was all a mistake. However that same crafter is within kirigakure now. Or should be. Any move we make puts my agent in danger. So I will answer this in two parts....Zenaku....if Iwa stands against us and backs Diana for her crimes....I will go there myself and challenge anyone who wishes to stand against me. Diana and her entire army if need be.

Ren....I will remind you of our positions and encourage you to hold your tongue. Do not presume I can not touch you. Do not use my comatose students name against me and throw it in my face. I only have so much patience. However your word is important to you and I respect that. I had hope that Kiri would come to make amends sooner than later. I won't permit you to endanger my agent too much by taking all of Kiri's lands. However go and reclaim Rain and do it quietly. No one from Kiri leaves if you have to kill them. Not one written or spoken word."

To those active Sharingan or any chakra sensory the world would seem to suddenly be drowned in black and green energy. A near impossible amount of chakra surged through the building. People felt like they couldn't move or breath from the sheer weight of the chakra Tengoku suddenly let loose. His eyes staring into Ren's Sharingan as half of Konoha would be able to feel his pressure. The massive surge rattling every window in the building as the lightning struck over and over again casting a light at Tengoku's back as it seemed pulled in by his power.

"If there will be war...I am prepared to put it down. Do not forget who I am. DO not doubt what I am capable of. A paladin protects and will annihilate the wicked who comes to his door. Now go. I expect a report at each interval."

Zenaku could tell that things between tengoku and Ren was heating up as the pressure in the room had became heavy, under his breath zenaku could hear a growl escape the hokages lips as the two of them went back and forth over what should be done. in all honesty zenaku could agree on both people's side as he could see where they was both coming from. Ren tho his tone was calm zenaku could tell he was very upset with the fact that he told the land of rain that they would have protection but now the land was stolen from the hidden mist and so far nothing had been done about it. 


It was at this moment that zenaku noticed the sound of rain droplets hitting the window in the hokages office which meant there was a storm outside. The sound of thunder echoed as a flash of lightning burst so bright it lit up the hokages office. after a few moments of silence Tengoku looked at zenaku and told him that if the Tsuchikage refused to surrender then he would go there him self to bring her in and if he had to he would face off against any and all of iwa. 


The hokage would then look to Ren and told him that he had a spy that should now be in the hidden mist and he was not willing to put him in any danger at this time. But he also told him that he should go and reclaim the hidden rain village and if need be kill those that he needed but there was not to be any written or spoken word of this. As tengoku spoke the air in the building became even more heavy, so heavy that it made it hard to breath or even move. tho zen was still getting back onto his feet so things like this would have a effect on his body. if he was still healthy it might not have this much of a effect. 


Zenaku did not understand why the hokages of the hidden leaf was always so hot headed in some cases. There was a reason why there was shinobi and then a hokage, to him a hokage should only come and fight on the battlefield unless there was no other choice.  A hokage should be the one to formulate the plan then direct his forces to where they was best suited tho that might just be zenakus way of thinking, after all everyone has there own way of dealing with things. 


Tengoku then told them to go but he expected a report at each point of there trip. It had definitely been a while sense he had gone on something like this, in fact the last time he went out like this he was helping the kazekage to claim a land.

Ren was less than impressed with the display of chakra or the words of the Hokage, it was this exact attitude that made the village weak in Ren's mind. Why should the shinobi train or fight, when the Hokage always steps in at the slightest moment. It was this sense of grandeur that Ren also believed would lead to the downfall of the village, if the Hokage was always stepping in determined to protect everyone and not let them fight, one day he will meet someone that he cannot take on alone and when he falls so too would the village hidden in the leaf. This time however, Ren would not argue or raise his objections, instead he would simply nod at the Hokage's words. "I will leave you two to sort out the details of the mission, while I go and reclaim Rain." Ren would state before looking to Zenaku, "meet me at the Gates at dawn in two days and we will head out." Ren would add before disappearing in an instant into the Kamui dimension.

His eyes would shift to Zenaku but the man was quiet. He didn't seem to have much issue or input with the task at hand. The support however quiet it was seemed to do well enough. Still he would quell his chakra and see that both men were unfazed. Or rather perhaps some effect was had on Zenaku. Two days was what Ren would announce to the man. Tengoku's eyes shifting back to the young Uchiha as he faded from their sight. He was gone from his raiton sensory too. Finally Tengoku would release it and return to normal sensory once it was done. Ren seemed too hotheaded and aggressive with his fellow shinobi. He wasn't much for a team player and had some grudge against Tengoku. Still he would frown and take a breath to steady his temper. He needed to gain power like that. Even as he was...Tengoku needed to be more. However for now he would turn to look to Zenaku once more. Ever so quietly he would smile before returning to his seat and speaking as he did so.

"Well I suppose two days will give you more time to prepare. That said I want you to keep an eye on him. Try to prevent an international incident if you can. I prefer if we must take Iwa again to do so peacefully this time. And to treat them fairly as fellow Konoha nin. Consider it payment for all those scrolls I gave you for the land of wolves. Now now I know it wasn't your fault but all the same....oh and try to locate Hanabi Uchiha. Send her my way. I need to see her."

With that he would settle into his chair and set about looking over another document. There were still matters of state to attend to after all. He still wasn't as intelligent as his sister had been when she was walking about but....well still he managed the business side of things rather well. Soon their reward from the auction would be coming and he needed to approve space for it. However he had other intentions for Hanabi Uchiha....his remaining student was his last hope here. The other two in that damned coma. One such thing he needed to do was finish their approval for the new country. Once that was purchased their vaults would be virtually empty. He himself likely had more money than Konoha did until the following month. Still he would continue finishing up busy work assuming Zenaku did as he was told until Hanabi arrived.

Zenaku watched as Ren turned and left out the door to the hokages office, but not before turning and telling zenaku to meet him at the front gates of the leaf village in two days. With that he vanished into the kumui deminsion and zenaku could feel the tension in the air go away. He was not sure what the issue was that Ren had with tengoku but what ever it was zenaku could tell it was not gonna end good. Zenaku would see tengoku shift his gaze over to him as he smiled. He said that two days should be plenty of time to get ready for his coming mission and for someone of zenaku statue yeah two days was plenty of time for him to get what he needed. 

He asked zenaku if he could keep his eyes on Ren, he wanted to take iwa again but he wanted to do it peacefully and not start a international incident. Zenaku could understand that after all they did there best to keep peace with iwa but at the same time being a ninja zenaku also knew that some times war was inevitable no matter how hard one tried to keep it from happening. He said that he would consider that payment for all the scrolls he gave zenaku before for that mission to the land of wolf's. That brought back the memory of what he was supposed to do before he had fallen into the coma. If need be he would find a way to get that land for tengoku somehow. He would then ask the uchiha to find another uchiha by the name of Hanabi uchiha. That name sounded familiar and he was not sure if he had meet her before but as the former leader of the uchiha he knows he either saw or read that name once before. 

" Ren sure seems like he has a big nick on his shoulder for you Tengoku, I'm not gonna pry into what happened between you guys as that's your business but I can tell he has a dark shadow hanging over him. The uchiha's curse of hatred seems to flow strong in that one, I guess I was just lucky I never took to the hatred side of the uchiha. But I shall definitely keep a eye on him not just cause you asked me to but also cause he is a fellow uchiha that needs help to see the light. 

As for the land of wolf's I do apologize for not being able to accomplish that mission, but I shall see what I can do about getting that nation under our control somehow. 

Hanabi uchiha you say. That name sounds familiar but sure think I shall go locate her right away sir." 

Taking a quick bow zenaku exited the hokages office before calling over a member of the anbu. 

" I need the location of a hanabi uchiha please and make it quick."

The member of anbu nodded before he vanished into a puff of smoke. Zenaku made it to the bottom of the stairs when the member of the anbu he sent away appeared before him once more. He told him that she was located at the uchiha compound. Of course zenaku thought if you needed to find a uchiha just look at the uchiha compound, about 9 times out of ten that is where they would be located. 

Zenaku would vanish as he quickly made his way across the city of the hidden leaf village until he reached the uchiha compound, he opened the door and walked in there was a few people standing around tho he did not know what hanabi looked like on sight so he started to ask around to see if he could find her. 

" Excuse me but you know where I can find Hanabi uchiha " 

Zenaku would say as he asked around to a few people hoping maybe he would get lucky and he would find the girl in the first attempt.

Hanabi was just about to be on her way when suddenly, a man got her attention, her golden eyes looking to him and raising a brow. She was no ordinary Uchiha, and anyone within the clan would know this. Formerly known as Hanabi Inuzuka, she was the black sheep of the entire clan, commonly disliked amongst the Uchiha themselves but also someone who has become well known and liked along Konoha.

Hanabi's caramel skin wasn't your typical Uchiha stereotype, along with her golden eyes, subtle fangs and pointed nose that looked as if it could sniff out someone. Her blonde, almost white hair made her stand out for the most part, complete polar opposites from your typical Uchiha. Still, the woman turned around and placed a hand on her hip, cocking her head to the side. "Who's asking?" Her eyes flashed with the three tomoe, yet it seemed to swirl infinitely, as if it were trying to change into something else. Her mangekyo was unlocked but it hadn't evolved its power so therefore it stayed in a stasis of mid transformation. The man seemed to be familiar, her head looking around the man, sniffing a few times before her body became relaxed and her eyes returned to the gold amber hue. "Z-Zenaku. A pleasure to meet you." She bowed formerly, her hands on her knees, placed in front of her. "I apologize for my speech. Did you need something?" Hanabi stood back up and placed her right hand back on her hip as it leaned a bit outward.

Her stomach showed a line, moving its way up to her breasts where a diamond could be seen on her cleavage, two more diamonds shown on her palms. They stood out, resembling a bit of red if the sun shined on them just right.

Hanabi was not your average Uchiha.

Still, she would listen to Zenaku, her eyes widening just a bit, her stance becoming more relaxed and her expression softening. Tengoku wanted to see her, her current master and former hokage. It seemed like he had come out of retirement which meant she wouldn't see the cute dog form he had which made her visibly upset. She couldn't help but have an innate love for dogs and understandment with them as she was an Inuzuka herself. Hanabi nodded and the two began walking back to where he came from, her finger tapping softly on her hip, nervous as to what he may want to speak to her about. It was a quiet walk back but as soon as they came to, she stepped inside and bowed to Tengoku. "Lord Hokage, you needed to see me?" With a rough gulp, she would make eye contact and keep her attention on him. Maybe this was a good time to bring something up.

Tengoku would be settled into his office for a while. It took time to fetch someone so he likely had an hour to get work done. Which he would focus on as it had backed up a bit. He needed to free up some time to do a bit of training after all. By that he meant he was going to put Hana through a great deal of hell to get her up to the level of the other two who had just been in his office. He would spend a few minutes ordering a couple of bento boxes to be sent to his office. Choosing some chicken and white rice with a range of sauces and a couple of pork buns. He assumed Hana wouldn't be opposed to those choices. Still he had something rather specific in mind for the meeting. She would arrive and announce herself just as the food was delivered with some canned coffee and bottled water. he would smile to the delivery lady before she would take her leave and his attention would shift back to Hana. His smile warm for her a moment before he would speak up lightly. Not expecting Zenaku to return with her at all.

"Close the door and then have a seat please. I have a few things I wish to discuss." He would state simply. This was to be a more private meeting. Still he would separate the two boxes and place a can of coffee and a bottle of water with one box on her side and a pair of chopsticks while doing the same on his side. Still he wouldn't open his box just yet. The office still had residuals of his chakra present from when he had flexed his power before. But there was room for improvement in his mind. Still if she followed directions and found a seat he would continue to speak once she did. "I have selected to have Zenaku go with Ren to Iwagakure. Truthfully I don't think you are ready should the situation turn hostile. You have conviction but as you sit here in front of me as my last remaining student, I see room for improvement. As such there are methods I would employ to help you. However this training would be difficult. The strain both mentally and physically would be more than anything I have put you through prior. However if you can complete my training....there will be a reward for you should you wish it."

Tengoku would tap the side of his face next to his eye. The coveted power over gravity of all things. He was offering her that should she succeed. However likely that meant switching eyes. That meant possibly betraying the Uchiha elitists who thought their power should not be shared. It was a lot to consider after all. Still he would be grooming her as his replacement. If she were able to surpass expectations he would place her in power regardless of Ren's thoughts. The man had a harsh way of going about telling people what he thought of them. Still he would crack open his can of coffee and take a sip. Feeling relaxed already from the cool coffee taste. Finally opening his bento box and cracking his chop sticks. Dipping a piece of chicken in some sauce before taking the bite and enjoying the flavor. He was calm with his news and didn't see an issue with reassigning someone for a mission. Truthfully he didn't trust Ren and needed someone strong enough to handle him. Like Zenaku if things got heated. He could trust Zenaku could at the very least escape.

Zenaku was lucky enough that he found hanibi uchiha at the uchiha compound. At first she seemed like she was gonna be rude until she noticed who she was talking to then her attitude changed very quickly. Zenaku explained that tengoku had sent him to fetch her so after that they would head back to the hokages offfice. After they arrived to the office zenaku watched  hanibi walk in. 

" I shall be heading off tengoku. I shall see you around, i need to go prepare for my mission." 

Zenaku turned around and left the hokages office and headed off to train some for his mission.

Hanabi looked to Zenaku and gave a small half bow before her attention was brought to Tengoku. He invited her to take a seat in which she did, moving the chair to behind her and sitting down, looking at the desk in front of her. There was double of everything, from coffee to bento boxes and chopsticks, implying that they would be dining together during this time. The office itself felt powerful, with two great hokages within a short amount of time, traces of nostalgia of Airi being in here as well as just starting under Tengoku's wing. It made her smile softly, yet her emotions shifted away and she remained focused.

With that being said, Tengoku began to speak, explaining his plan and that he chose Zenaku over Hanabi. Her eyes widened just a bit, her mouth opening slightly but retracted her words, nodding softly. She agreed, whether she liked it or not. Zenaku, the previous Uchiha leader, wS far stronger than her, far more capable for these things. Still, she would listen to him, hearing that she was his last remaining student, feeling lost and without hope. She still felt as though she wasn't worthy of being his student yet he believed in her so. He stated he would continue to train her, her eyes brightening up just a bit, a shimmer of hope reflecting in her eyes. A reward was on the table and no.. it wasn't the bento boxes or anything like that. It was an eye, specifically his dojutsu that was tied to his Gravity Release. As he tapped the temple by his eye, she raised her hand to touch her own, matching the side parallel to him. To give up an eye. Her Mangekyo hadn't even formed to the proper technique and still, he wanted one. It didn't upset her, it just made her feel uneasy, wondering if even the technique she were to get would even benefit him.


Tengoku proceeded to open his canned coffee and bento box and began to dine in, Hanabi following in his steps cautiously. Social cues were still a bit iffy for her considering her sheltered life. Pork buns, chicken and rice, not a bad combo indeed. She'd separate her chopsticks and begin eating some rice, followed with a piece of chicken. Savory, salty, just what she liked. Placing her chopsticks down, she cleared her throat and began to speak, her eyes meeting with his. "I accept. Though, Tengoku— if that's alright still.. I would like to ask you a question.." Her face became slightly red with embarrassment but she proceeded to speak again, avoiding eye contact. "Kimiko's presence has been long gone, I fear she has come down with the same coma as Airi and Taco. Zenaku is just getting back and.. Ren, you know how he is.." Hanabi started to pick at her hands, her arms and hands laying on the desk in front of her, some skin coming off slowly. "I-.. I was wondering if you would have my support in being Uchiha Leader..." She gulped, using one hand to place a strand of hair behind her ear and make eye contact for a brief moment. Her canine like iris', so unique to the Inuzuka, her stilleto like nails, also a feature from them, and her canines. She didn't scream an ounce of Uchiha yet.. She had her Sharingan.

Hanabi looked away again, awaiting his answer, her eyes flashing a bit open and looking to Tengoku, once again but with concern. "If I'm not mistaken, my Mangekyo Sharingan— I lose eyesight with it, correct? Wouldn't you be at the will of this too? I wouldn't want you to lose your eyesight..."

Tengoku would lean back in his chair as he listened. It was true that Kimiko had suffered the same coma leaving them without a Jounin commander and him back in the seat of Hokage. He was troubled a little by this but he didn't mind it so much. There was the threat of war looming but he felt he had sent good faith on the way when he released their two prisoners. Still there was what he had just given Ren clearance to do. Sure they had taken the land from them but Ren wouldn't let their nin live. He was going to kill them all and even if it was considered in defense of their claim Kiri might not take it lightly. They had reached out to Kiri though only to be met with silence. This was making him uneasy and hence his desire to prepare. Still he would take her request to support her with a hint of hesitation. His finger had been tapping on the desk when he leaned back would stop and his eyes would shift to hers. Taking in her nervous expression as she asked him to support her claim to lead her clan. The main clan of Konoha. 

"I will support whatever path you take as your mentor....however I warn you some of the clan will not look lightly upon this. Picking a champion in your place will serve in the short run...but you will need to get to my level of strength before long. As for Ren....I know he will be against this. I will be there when he returns to support you as he is your rival. "

Tengoku was a little nervous about that. Ren would be furious and likely to lash out. He would need to be prepared to stop him but....he wanted to do so calmly. If he could convince Ren not to turn on them and support her to lead....Well that was unlikely but he had to try. Still he was probably one of the few people in the world who could face Ren Uchiha in combat. If nothing else the man was incredibly potent and well armed. He would need to keep the fight contained somewhere. Ren would likely catch wind of this move the moment he returned to town. So they would need to be prepared. Even as she continue to speak he would figure a temporary solution. 

"When Ren returns immediately send word for me and head for the training grounds. If he lashes out its capable of handling it. As for going blind...Zenaku did achieve something beyond Mangekyo. I would speak to him for how to surpass that limit."

Hanabi nodded, listening to her mentor and sensei, hearing his concerns out. "I understand, Tengoku. I am fully prepared to experience the hardships of leading a group who are.. more stuck in their ways than not." She gave a soft smile to Tengoku, covering her mouth with her hand as she chuckled softly. Her eyes met with Tengoku's again, giving a nod of understandment to him. "And I will support you being there to help me deal with him. Though, if he is not willing to cooperate, I think he should be expelled and pushed out of Konoha. At least he will be exiled from the clan." Her eyes looked to the side, her vision focusing on the window that laid on the wall, just adjacent to them. "I'd.. rather hate to do that.." Hanabi's eyes looked to Tengoku again. "I hope you know that.."

Hanabi stood up, lifting her arms and interlocking her fingers as she raised them both above her head, stretching her arms and back. Her back arching just a bit, her shirt lifting up, revealing a more toned stomach than last time. She had gotten a bit better with her coordination, allowing her to be able to redefine her muscles on her abdoment. When she let go of her hands, her arms swung down, her shirt falling downward. Hanabi did come a long way but still, showing on her face, was the small kid that has grown up, doubting every decision she made in her lifetime. She was just a kid deep down, acting like a grown woman. With recent events, she had become a bit more irratic and less drawn to speaking with people, especially Ren. This maybe didn't help but she could always apologize for it. Tengoku would tell a plan to lure Ren to the training grounds if he were to either act eratic or just show up in Konoha. She would keep an eye on who entered, leaving her to find a suitable person to report back to her. The topic was quickly turned to Zenaku, something about experiencing something higher than her current doujutsu level. Hanabi put a note in her mind to speak with Zenaku one on one. "Tengoku, before I go.." She'd ask, flicking her hair off of her shoulder.



The new clan leader now leaving for Kirigakure was a bad idea but if she could somehow get Kiyoshi back, it would be fine and dandy. "I need to see Kiyoshi, either I leave for Kirigakure and risk Ren to take the position or Kiyoshi is requested back. I am in need of... Someone with medical experience." Hanabi turned around, her back now facing Tengoku, her arms crossed and her head turned just a bit, looking back at the fromer and temporary Hokage. "You see, Kimiko gave me an organ. I'm in need to put it in me but.." Her head turned to look towards the exit. "It's running out of time... Think you can help me?"

His eyes would shift to his desk in thought. He was prepared to defend her....But unless the man actually attacked anyone she had no grounds for banishing other than disdain for him. It was concerning that she was already considering this a possibility. Perhaps she knew the man better than he did but it seemed like expecting the absolute worst of him. It was true that he held a tremendous amount of power. Probably one of the only people who could actually fight Tengoku in a test of skill. However Tengoku was confident that he was the strongest now. That his goal to be stronger than anyone had been achieved. Still he wondered just how much of this was planned out. His eyes shifted to Hana's as she mentioned how she hoped he knew how much she would hate to do that. He would study her in silence a moment. It didn't need to be approved or guided. She would be taking on substantial backlash from that as well as Tengoku fighting on her behalf. It was the smart play and some would respect that. But as she had mentioned some were traditionalists. If she banished Ren there would be a split in the clan. A rift. And Tengoku would be caught right in the middle. 

Still the mention of going to Kirigakure was a surprise. Her reasoning more so. He would narrow his eyes as the explanation went further. Perhaps he hadn't been clear with others who had worked closely under him. He was not the kind to take lightly to the misuse of the dead. Sure she could have collected an organ from someone living. However he had his suspicions as to whos it was. He had only received a head after all. Leaving it to blind trust that she had eliminated the valuable body instead of stealing it's secrets. They were so angry with Iwa for the theft of their exclusives that they ignored their hubris and Hypocrisy. It was no wonder the world held hate for them. Still he would reply to her as he leaned forward. Slowly placing his hands together with intertwined fingers and bent wrists to create a chin rest. Settling his slightly bearded face upon the rest with a smile on his face. His eyes watching her now as if despite that sweet appearance he was very displeased. 

"Kiri is not to be trusted at the moment. As a crafter building them things they likely haven't bothered him yet. I certainly haven't received word of negotiations for him and I created goodwill by letting their own leave here. If Kiyoshi is harmed while in their care I will bring hell to their gates. But you may send a messenger bird for him and request his services. Before that though...my dear girl....you will tell me all....about....that....organ." Pausing in the last few words between each word for emphasis. If it was Raijins....he was about to be furious. He did not like being painted the hypocrite in all this. Still he wasn't using any jutsu or anything. Just a dangerously sweet smile.

Hana's piercing eyes looked to Tengoku once again, her body turned to face him. His concern for her to leave for Kirigakure was appreciated, even so, more terrifying when he mentioned to tell him all about the organ. The words 'My dear girl' made her stomach erupt in immense churning, a small red blush went across her face, almost as if it was a term of endearment or more to her. It made her fiddle with her fingers and nails, remembering things from the past with Peragus, feeling the same way with him. She shook her head and shivered her body just a bit, coming back to. Hanabi placed her hands on the desk, leaning closer to him. Inches away from Tengoku, she would look at him, analyzing his face, seeing his unique eyes and thinking about the offer he made. She slightly pulled back and kept at a decent distance, allowing them some breathing room. She was still leaning forward, hands on the desk.


"The organ.. right? Kimiko gave it to me. I'm not sure what it's supposed to do but she gave it to me at the time of receiving Dragon Sage..." Her eyes shifted to the side, avoiding eye contact with the man's piercing eyes. "I may be.. arrogant when I say this but I feel as though it will help me. She gave it to me to help I suppose but.. if there is an issue, I understand." Her eyes slowly closed, her chest moving downward with an exhale, a sigh coming from her in acceptance in which she did not want to accept. If she could become more powerful to protect Konoha, she would do anything. Though Tengoku, she would respect his wishes and obey his decision. She respected him and more. He was her mentor and the only person left that believed in her. She wanted to do good by him. "What do you want me to do?"

Tengoku would neither flinch or back away. She was being forward and daring as close as she was. Yet he did nothing to pursue it. His eyes not looking over her form as other men might. Certainly she was attractive but Tengoku had never once crossed that line. Instead the only times he noticed her form was how it pertained to training. He would allow her to get uncomfortably close and study him a moment before backing off and giving him space. From where she had been her scent flooded his senses. If he were tracking her he would have the scent down now. Still she did not smell of blood. He wished that for the Uchiha clan. To be more at peace. Though he suspected this was something she was looking to prove. He would pause as she mentioned the timeline and who it came from again. Damn that woman. He had asked for proof of complete death and all he got was a head. Which he had sealed away in the konoha vault. If there were other pieces of him out there then there was yet a chance he could regenerate. A threat not fully dealt with out of greed. 

"There was a man I had her hunt around that time. I had intended for her to completely destroy him. However my orders seemed to have been muddied. His head is currently sealed and kept under lock, key and guard. If it is one of his organs that was offered to you....then it is possible to gain a good deal of power from it. Beware though as it was from a man who can not die as we do. There is a possibility he will consume you and be reborn. If that were to happen I would be forced to incinerate you. "

He would warn her as the rain continued to pelt against the window. He would return to drink some of his coffee and delve back into his lunch. Picking some rice and dipping it in another sauce before taking a bite. He wasn't angry at her. Though he would have words with Kimiko should she awaken. Another person in their clan as full of bravado and selfishness. Both herself and Ren had come to think of themselves as invincible. Perhaps this was why they took the risks they did and felt so much cold hate for everyone around them. Oh but that sauce was tasty.
