Getting Down to Business

Ren would let out a small sigh as he entered into a large room within the grand training facility, it had been so long since he had been here. This room was similar to the room where he trained with Peragus all those weeks ago, though in all honesty to Ren they all looked the same. Perhaps it was the fact that he had not been in one for so long that it was causing them to all blend together or perhaps it was something else entirely. The reason didn't matter to him in reality, what did matter was the reason he was here. He was in need of more techniques to add to his arsenal of jutsu. Having already mastered the basic techniques of Katon, Suiton, and Raiton it was now time for him to continue his training and learn the more advanced techniques of the elements. Dressed in his new Battle Kisode, armor made specifically for him by his love Airi, with his sweet silk cloak draped over him, Ren would move to the center of the room and take in a deep breath as he looked around and contemplated what technique he should attempt first. Considering his natural affinity for fire and the fact that he had seen other Uchiha perform the same technique in the past, Ren landed on learning Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation first. It seemed to be a simple enough technique, and so long as he was able to keep control of the flames he shouldn't have any issues with it. Inhaling a deep breath as he formed the Horse hand sign, Ren would release a stream of fire from his mouth that would quickly spread to form a wall of flames that cover a large portion of the training area he was in.

Learned Fire Release: Great Fire Annihilation (300/300)

Watching the flames envelope the trees and grass, setting them a flame, Ren would let himself smile. He did not need to worry about the flames destroying the building he was in, despite it's destructive power, the building was built to withstand such destructive techniques. It was one of the many things that made the Grand Konoha training facility so grand in the first place, and it was the reason he had chosen the facility to train these stronger techniques. Watching the fire light dancing around him, Ren would take a few moments just to enjoy the sight. It wasn't everyday that he had a chance to do such, and he wanted to take ever opportunity that he could to enjoy the small things in life. After standing there in complete silence for several minutes simply watching as the flames ebbed down until they were mere embers and ashes, Ren decided to attempt another technique. Like the first one this one would be fire, though its range and destructive capabilities far exceeded that of the previous technique. He remembered how his father had once told him that only a true master of fire could control such a technique, and that it was the pride of all Uchiha to wield as they were the true masters of the flames. He would pause as a brief moment of doubt would wash over him, his father has always said he was weak and the man's words would echo in his mind at this very moment. If his father was right and he attempted this technique, then he would surely be consumed by his own flames. Ren would shake his head trying to push the old man's words from his mind, this was no time to get cold feet. Inhaling a great breath, Ren would form the seven hand signs for the technique before letting out a wave of fire that destroyed everything that remained in its path.

Learned Fire Release: Great Fire Destruction (300/300)

As the wave of fire washed out over the area before him, Ren couldn't help but smile at his accomplishment. Though he knew that if he kept it up at this rate then soon the building he was in would start to buckle under the damage to it that was piling up. He needed to switch tactics, maybe use a technique that wasn't fire that wouldn't be as destructive as the two fire techniques he had just used. He silently debated with himself whether to attempt a Raiton technique or a Suiton technique next, though after watching the flames for a few moments longer decided on a Suiton technique. At the very least the technique would be able to put out the flames and stop them from doing any more damage then they already had, but which technique would be best for this. He had learned several of the basic techniques of the Suiton element though none of them would be large enough to quell the flames that now raged within the room. His thoughts went to that of the exploding water colliding wave, though he knew that technique wasn't strong enough. It was then that he remembered talk of a larger scaled version of the technique that would work the same and should allow him to quench out the fire. Forming the Ram hand sign as he inhaled another breath, Ren would expel a large wave of water that would wash over the burnt land putting out all of the fires that remained in the room. It was still strange to him how he could go from fire to water using the same motions with both, but it was something that he was slowly coming to accept, after all it was just a matter of how he molded his chakra for the techniques that made the difference.

Learned Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave (250/250)

A smile would creep onto his face for a moment as he watched everything in front of him get drowned in the water wall that he released, taking a few moments to himself to catch his breath after the three techniques he just performed having all required his breath. There was one more technique that he wanted to try that was going to require his breath, and he needed to make sure that he was able to perform it fully for this. The fact was that though he had been expanding towards other elements, his skill with them were far less than his ability with Katon and the techniques took more out of him. It didn't matter if they were weaker than a Katon technique that he used or not, the fact remained that the other elements were more taxing on him than he would like. This was something that he was going to have to work on, he didn't care how long it would take to do, that was his next goal was to learn ways to lessen the amount of chakra he was having to exert for techniques that were not katon based. After several minutes of simply waiting and controlling his breathing he was ready to begin again, this time with a water technique that wasn't as wide range as the last but more pinpointed. Forming a string of five hand signs and then clapping his hands together, Ren let out a powerful stream of water that cut down the trees that were previously standing in front of him.

Learned Water Release: Water Severing Wave (250/250)

Ren let out a small sigh as the trees crashed to the ground, as much fun as training was it was starting to get a little boring destroying the landscape. He needed something different, a target preferably one that moved making it more of a challenge for him while he trained these techniques. At first, he thought about making a shadow clone of himself to spar with just so that he could have someone to target, but then he remembered something. There was a technique that he was planning on training that would provide him with a target just like the shadow clone would and since he was already going to train it, using it instead wouldn't be a waste of his chakra like it would be for the shadow clone. This technique was like his spark clone as far as made of lightning, but more like the shadow clone as far as it's chakra reserves, as if it was a combination of the two clone techniques put into one. Of course, that was not the case, just what if felt like to Ren. He knew that this was going to be taxing on him just like the water techniques were, but that did not matter to him. Focusing his chakra, Ren would make the Tiger hand sign as he willed his chakra into existence as a clone. For half a second, he would see his image in front of him before it flickered out of existence. Inhaling a deep breath, Ren would attempt to make the clone again. Forming the tiger hand sign, Ren concentrated as hard as he could until he opened his eyes to see himself standing in front of him.

Learned Lightning Release: Lightning Shadow Clone (250/250)

Looking at his lightning shadow clone, the pair would smirk to each other before darting off in different directions. They would be equally matched, at least for the most part. There would be two advantages that Ren would have over his clone, the first was that he would have use of other elements beyond just lightning. The second and possibly more importantly, was that he would have his Sharingan. Sure the clone had the image of the Sharingan in its eye, but it was not the real thing. Watching the clone the entire time they were darting away from each other, Ren watched the clone to see what it would do. Seeing the clone begin to form a string of hand signs, Ren would start forming the exact same hand signs. Matching the speed and timing of the clone's technique, the two of them would both release a stream of lightning at each other that would cause both techniques to collide in the middle of the area between him and his clone. He pushed himself further, if he was only copying the clone he was never going to get a hit off on it, he needed to do something on his own. As soon as the clone began forming another string of hand signs, Ren would copy it forming the same technique only this time he would follow it with another three hand signs. Releasing a second technique directly after the first so that it was hidden in the first techniques shadow so to speak. This allowed his electromagnetic murder technique to crash into the clone exploding it on impact as Ren smiled to himself.

Learned Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder (250/250)

Annoyance would flash across Ren's face as his clone dispersed into lightning upon the hit, sure he had done what he had intended to do, but he had hoped that the clone would have given him a greater challenge than what it had. It was more of a disappointment in himself than annoyance in truth, his clone had been so easy to pick off that it made the man wonder if the same would be said about him in a fight with another shinobi. Was he really so weak that he could be defeated so easily or was there something that he was missing. The thought would come to him that he was not using all of his strength to its fullest potential, he held two summoning contracts and yet he had never attempted to summon either of them before. As much as he would have loved to summon a dragon, he doubted that this would be the proper place to do so. Dragons were large and though this building was large also, he could only assume that the dragon would destroy the building in the process of getting to the sky like they were known for. Of course, who could blame it, the call of the air and wind is a powerful calling one that even he could not ignore. Oh, what he would do to be able to fly through the air as dragons do, to feel the wind beneath his wings, hell to simply have wings would be in of itself a blessing for the male. He had only ever seen the one dragon that Raijin had ridden upon to the gate of Konoha all those months ago, but he would never forget the feeling he had felt when he saw it. The powerful dragon C, King of the Dragons. Ren wondered if he would even be able to summon such a creature or if he did if the beast would even listen to him at all. The fact was that even if he summoned a dragon, there was no guarntee that the dragon would accept him as it's master.

Trained S-Rank Dragon Summon C (350/350)

As he stood there thinking about the king of the Dragons, another name would pop into his mind. It was a name that he had seen in the brief time that he had held the summoning contract when he had signed it, Meviarot. The thought of whether or not a smaller dragon would be easier to control then the King, although Meviarot was not that much smaller than C and was still large enough to take out the building he was standing in if he actually summoned it in here. From what he remembered from the scroll, Meviarot was the first-born dragon of C and by all accounts C's heir, would a prince be any easier to control than a King. Ren's mind would race with the possibilities as he stood there contemplating, the dragons would make him a powerful ally, so long as he could control them. Of course, if he feared the dragons, then there was a higher chance of the dragons simply killing him without a second thought. At least that was what he would do if he was in the position of such great power, nobody especially powerful dragons would want an ally that was weak or frightened of them, there was no use for such allies. He knew that he would have to prove his worth to the dragons, he just needed to figure out how to prove his worth to a dragon, or more realistically, what his worth was to himself to begin with. Only by understanding himself could he ever hope to make a dragon, or any other summon for that matter, see his worth and bind them to him so that he was the one in control. What was it that he could offer Meviarot that someone else could not, or was it more about the energy that he put off that would determine it.

Trained A-Rank Dragon Summon Meviarot (300/300)

Ren would let out a loud groan, he was standing here wasting too much time on this matter. Even thinking about trying to summon a dragon was giving him a headache, and he wasn't going to be able to summon either one of them here. He needed to focus his efforts on something else, something that he could do now. Ren's mind would think back to the Salamander contract he had claimed from the village hidden in the rain, they were smaller than the dragons and perhaps more easily controlled. Of course, considering he had no real experience with summons, this was all speculation. It was entirely possible that the salamanders would be just as hard to control as the dragons, and it was also possible that they were more difficult to control. It was a flip of the coin at this rate, and for some reason Ren just was not sure about whether or not he should take the chance and flip it. His mind racing as he contemplated his next move, before an image of Airi appeared in his mind. She too had summons, though completely different contracts than himself, he never once remembered seeing fear or doubt in her eyes when she summoned one of her creatures, but he also did not remember seeing her summon that many, her spar against the Hokage being the exception even if he didn't see the entire fight. She had stayed in control, without a single doubt in her head during that fight, and if he wanted to be any kind of true shinobi then he needed to cast the doubt from his mind and take control for himself just has Airi had done for herself. Concentrating his mind back onto the salamander contract as he bit his thumb and formed the string of hand signs for the summoning, a single name spoke out to him Kaido. He didn't know why the name stuck out to him, but as he slammed his palms to the ground it was the name that he focused on. In a large puff of smoke the salamander would appear in front of him.

Trained S-Rank Salamander Summon Kaido (350/350)

Kaido wasn't too happy about being summoned the way he was, stating that if Ren didn't actually need him for a fight or something that he wanted to be left alone before disappearing again causing Ren to frown. Obviously, he needed more work on controlling a summon. If he couldn't even control a Salamander, how did he expect to be able to control a dragon when it really mattered. His anger began to grow, and he thought about re summoning kaido just so he could give the large lizard a piece of his mind, but he knew that wasn't a smart idea. The last thing he needed was death by his own summon. That would be something for the history books that would shame him forever. After taking the time to calm himself down and get his anger back under control, Ren decided that he should start smaller. A salamander that was not so powerful maybe, or at least lower in their ranks. He remembered several names from the list when he had viewed the summoning contract, Kaido had just been the first one that popped in his head at the time. Considering the list carefully before he made his choice this time, Ren would bite his thumb to freshen the blood and form the hand signs before slamming his palm to the ground. This time he would focus on the name, Rocky. A lesser salamander than Kaido, yet still powerful in his own right. It would only be a step down from Kaido, but hopefully that was all he needed. As the puff of smoke cleared, Ren found himself standing before a slightly smaller salamander than before, though he looked just as fierce. Luckily for Ren, this time he was able to get some conversation out of the salamander, learning not just about Rocky but all the other salamanders as well.

Trained A-Rank Salamander Summon Rocky (300/300)

After his talk with Rocky, Ren decided to take a break from summoning for the time and try to get some more techniques learned first. Rocky was nice enough to offer his assistants in this matter, providing Ren with an opponent to spar against that would be less predictable than himself which was happily accepted by the male. The only downside to all of this was the fact that he wasn't sure what he should consider training now, though the look of his large opponent caused a thought to pop into mind. A technique that would be useful against large opponents should he ever face one in true combat, though he wasn't sure how Rocky would feel about it considering the nature of it. It took some convincing, but eventually Ren was able to wear down the large salamander into agreeing to a brief test of this technique to ensure that Ren would be able to use it properly in the future. The thing that Ren believed sealed the convincing was him saying that he would be able to use it to assist Rocky in a fight against another summon or sage forbid a larger more dangerous for like a Bijuu. With Rocky's agreement to the test Ren would take up a position, telling the large Salamander to move as fast as he could around the room so that he could attempt to capture him as the technique was meant to do. Forming a string of five hand signs Ren would cause four pillars to sprout out of the ground and trap Rocky.

Trained A-Rank technique Four Pillar Bind (250/250)

Ren wasted little time after the four pillars appeared to make another string of three hand signs and slamming his hands to the ground once more. He needed the pillars, but he didn't need them to fully activate. He didn't want to take the chance that the lightning from the four pillars bind to cause Rocky pain or anything that would cause the salamander to unsummon and return to it's realm, at least not before learning another technique that built off of the first technique. It was stronger than the parent version, and while it could be done on its own, it was less costly on his chakra if the four pillars are there first. He of course felt bad that he did not tell Rocky this part of his plan, but everything considered he hoped that the salamander would not mind in the end. Ren watched as more pillars began to form in between the original four, that was one of the major differences between the two techniques. While the parent technique made an electric fence to trap the target, this version made a solid wall, even a encompassing roof as well to prevent them from going up. All of this would form before the technique would release a Raiton charge pulse within it to help subdue the target however Ren would end the technique before it released the lightning. He didn't want to hurt Rocky afterall, he merely wished to practice the techniques and that was accomplished as far as he was concerned. Once the pillars were gone, Ren would thank Rocky for his help in his training before releasing the salamander to return to it's own realm. All thing considered the male felt extremely accomplished in the fact that he had been able to learn so much about the Salamanders so quickly.

Trained S-Rank Technique 16 pillar bind (300/300)

Ren smiled as he dismissed the pillars as well as Rocky, having finished what he needed with them. Now that the minor techniques were out of the way it was time for him to start working on what he had actually came there for, learning the secret techniques of the village itself. Pulling out the copy of the scroll he had been given he would look over the techniques within it as he tried to decide which one he would try to learn first. Chidori would add to his Raiton arsenal, while Rasengan would be able to add more to his overall techniques as he had plans for other techniques that were based off of it. After what seemed like forever of going back and forth, Ren finally decided that his best bet was to start with something simple and landed on the multi-shadow clone technique. He had been looking forward to the day he was able to learn the technique, having heard about it his whole life. While mainly the same as the normal shadow clone, this technique allowed one to take it further creating hundreds of clones of themselves rather than just a few. Studying the depictions of the multi-shadow clone technique within the scroll, Ren would inhale a deep breath as he prepared himself for his first attempt at the multi-shadow clone. He didn't want to waste too much chakra considering the fact that there were still many other techniques he had to learn today, he decided to only make 100 clones with the technique.

Learned Multi-shadow clone technique: (250/250)

Ren found himself surrounded by, well by himself as one hundred clones appeared around him. Satisfied that he now understood the technique and the difference between it and the normal shadow clone technique, Ren would dismiss his clones and move on to the next technique, the Rasengan. The Rasengan seemed more sophisticated than the multi-shadow clone technique and of course required much more chakra than the first technique, however he would not let that deter him. He was a Jounin now, and he needed to prove to himself that he was worthy of the station the Hokage had given him. Holding out his hand in front of him, Ren began to concentrate his chakra into his palm, attempting to make it spin and condense into a ball of pure chakra however no matter how hard he concentrated he could not get it to work the way he had seen others able to perform the technique. Pouring himself back over the scroll he thought he was doing something wrong but from what he could tell he was doing exactly as the scroll shown with the technique. He couldn't understand what was wrong, could it be that he had exerted too much chakra already and didn't have the strength to perform this one or was it something else. It was then that he noticed in the bottom corner of the scroll a depiction of someone using a clone and performing the Rasengan that way, considering he had exhausted the other means of performing the technique he decided to give it a try with the clone.

Learned Rasengan: (250/250)

Smiling as he watched the ball of pure chakra form in the palm of his hand with the help of the clone, Ren would let out a small breath that he had unknowingly been holding. Even if he had to rely on the use of a clone to help him in it's creation for now, he could feel the power of the technique as his chakra spun in the palm of his hand. Once he was satisfied with his ability to make the Rasengan, Ren would turn his attention to the next technique on his list to learn. This particular technique would actually take him longer to learn considering it wasn't just itself that he was going to attempt to learn but a wide variety of techniques that all stemmed from it as well. Though he knew he couldn't push himself to learn them all at once, he was going to have to do this one at a time. Since he had a clone out from his training of the Rasengan, he figured it would make a good target to try out Chidori on. Forming a string of five hand seals, Ren began focusing his Raiton chakra to his hand. Hearing the crackling sound of the lightning in his hand a smirk would form on his lips as he darted towards the clone. It sounded like a thousand birds chirping, and yet it was like music to his ears, he almost couldn't believe it when his hand smashed through the clone like a blade cutting through butter.

Learned Chidori: (250/250)

As the clone exploded into a puff of smoke from the impact, a small frown would grow one Ren's face. As much as he enjoyed the Chidori there was a certain nuisance in having to form five hand seals just to perform it, though through learning to focus his Raiton through it it lead to many techniques that would not require so many. Considering the fact that he had come here to train them all he saw no reason in stopping now, so he would return his attention to the scroll to see what he was going to learn next. There was the Chidori Katana, though it was rather simple and took Ren no time at all to learn. In fact he picked it up so quickly that it even surprised him, though he would quickly return to the scroll to continue searching for the next. He thought about the senbon or current, but then his eyes would fall upon Raikiri and the deal was done. A more advanced version of Chidori, stronger and with less hand seals making it faster to cast which of course intrigued the male. He did enjoy the Chidori so the thought of being able to perform it faster and with a stronger output than the original he could hardly pass it up. Finding himself a tree to target Ren would take up a position so that he could get a good run in to add to the jutsu before forming the three hand seals and focusing his Raiton chakra into his hand again though this time a larger volume of it. Once he was confident in the fact that it was stable, Ren would dart forward towards the tree at a rapid pace, stretching out his arm and obliterating the tree as he came to a stop satisfied with the result of the test.

Learned Raikiri (300/300)

Returning his attention to the scroll once more, Ren would pour himself into the knowledge held within it. As much as he liked Raikiri, the fact that he would have to get close to use it was a downside. Looking to use it's power at a distance he would first turn his attention to the beast tracking fang, focusing his raiton chakra into his hand and then shaping it into a wolf that he could use to launch out at a target. This was an easy to accomplish feat, the wolf forming almost as easily as he had been able to perform the chidori katana. While the range of the beast was an improvement the speed of it was a disappointment, looking to try and rectify that Ren would find the lightning release: purple electricity particularly interesting. Though it wouldn't be as cool looking as beast the fact that it would move faster was appealing as well as the fact that he could use it for setup of other techniques, though he currently didn't have anything in that could build off of the formation of storm clouds he knew that somewhere out there, there was a technique that could use it and that one day he would find a way to learn it. For now, at least he would settle on the fact that he could use it to strike an opponent at a distance, which was more than enough of an incentive for him to learn it. Focusing his Raiton chakra into his palm he would target a tree that was far enough away from him for him to really be able test it out while still being in range of the technique before firing off the purple electricity, causing it to weave forward to strike the tree.

Learned Purple Electricity (300/300)

Now halfway through the secret techniques he was to learn, Ren would take a small break to drink some water as he continued to study the scroll. With the two hardest of the techniques out of the way, he hoped that the remaining four that he would be learning would come to him easily. After his short break, he would go back to it. The chidori Sharp spear, similar to purple electricity with the exception that it used the power of the chidori rather than raikiri as the previous one had. Still, its use in combat could be helpful considering it also did not cost as much chakra as the other technique. Another difference between the two was that the chidori sharp spear could alter its shape and make six piercing blades to strike a target, this would give him an option to strike an opponent in a way to immobilize them without killing them which was just an added bonus to the technique. Now was time to test his theory and ensure he would be able to strike the target in the right areas, for this he would make a couple of clones through the multi-shadow clone technique, only ten this time. Once that was done, he would focus his raiton chakra to his hand before targeting one of the clones. Sending the raiton chakra out like a spear extending from his hand, and then just before impact with the clone splitting it to strike the clone in six different locations at once.

Learned Chidori Sharp Spear (250/250)

With only three techniques left to go, Ren would turn his attention to the Chidori Senbon. Finding it strange that, it mentioned that the Uchiha seemed to possess abilities with it others didn't. This was the first time he had seen his clan mentioned with these techniques, it seemed that thanks to their Sharingan his clan were more effective at pinpointing where to strike with the technique to have the largest effect. It was something he had come to expect of his clan, though it was still strange to see it mentioned with the technique, it was as if someone else picked up on the greatness of the clan and slipped it in to always be part of the history of the technique. It was something that brought him great pride in reading, and made him determined to live up to that standard as he moved to perform the technique himself. Aiming for one of his remaining clones Ren would focus his raiton chakra as several Senbon sized lines of electricity formed around him before firing off at the clone. Though it was hard to tell if he hit the spot desired considering the fact that as soon as they struck the clone it dispersed into a puff of smoke. As confident as he was in his own abilities he decided not to leave it up to chance and attempted the technique once more this time activating one of the many functions of the sharingan with which he could focus and ensure they hit the desired mark.

Learned Chidori Senbon (250/250)

With the Chidori Senbon, successfully tested and his precision with it flawless. It was now time to move on to the next one, Chidori current. With it he would be able to attack or defend against multiple enemies at once, or at least that was the idea behind it. It alone would become far more effective when combined with some of his water techniques that he had learned, like some of the other that were area of effect but for now the standard range of it would work as far as for the training of it. He could always practice the larger scale version of it later when he was by a source of water or when he trained other jutsu that produced water, it was all a learning experience for him at this point. Of course he was already testing the limits of his abilities, he could feel his chakra reserves dwindling far lower than he had ever allowed himself to go, however with only two techniques left to learn he felt more than confident in the fact that he would have enough to finish his training and still have enough left that he would be able to return, even if it meant walking slowly, home to get some rest. Instructing what remained of his multi-shadow clones to all attack him at once, Ren would begin focusing his Raiton chakra. Feeling the air around him beginning to crackle before it burst from him spreading across a ten meter range destroying the last seven of his clones.

Learned Chidori Current (250/250)

As the last of his clones disappeared in puffs of smoke from being destroyed by his Chidori current, the realization that he should have kept one back for training this last technique would pop into his head. This of course would cause a very loud, very annoyed groan to sound throughout the training room. Though it was annoying to have had just destroyed his clones and to have to make another for the purposes of training this last technique, Ren knew it would be worth it. With this technique the last of the village exclusives, at least the ones that he could learn, would be under his belt. Add to the fact that he wouldn't really be wasting chakra on the clone, for one it was needed in order to perform the technique, for two once he was done training he could just reclaim his chakra back by dismissing it. Once he was finished pouring himself over the last bits of information on the technique held within the scroll, Ren felt confident in beginning the process to see if he was able to retain the information and perform the technique. Forming a single tiger hand seal, Ren would make yet another clone of himself, only this time rather than one of the multi-shadow clones it would be a true shadow clone. Splitting his chakra down evenly as he created the clone, then they would both focus their Raiton chakra between them to make an almost tether of lightning between them and charging to strike at a tree. Ren would smile and pump his fist in the air as he dismissed his clone, he was finally finished. As he had been instructed, Ren would take the scroll that held the copies of the village exclusives he had been given permission to learn in his hand and set it on fire with his chakra. Now that he had learned the techniques he no longer needed the scroll and they couldn't have its knowledge fall into the wrong hands, watching until the last ember of the scroll stopped burning and there was nothing left but ashes Ren would take his leave home to get some much needed rest.
