Revelations 12: The Attack

Dahlia looked over to see a man come out, from her perspective, out of nowhere with an epic looking sword. Her Brows frowned a bit in confusion right before she heard the comment that pulled her attention to the threat all around them once again.  She quckly kneeled down ducking her head as she felt Takara's hand pulling her down by her top. She knew she wanted her down lower but Dahlia instantly felt like she should stay only in a crouched down kneeling position to avoid making herself prone by laying down. With wide eyes as she looked through the water shield around them, the wave of fire passed over head of them into the masses of xenobeasts. As well as her hair that somehow got frizzer and more wild than usual due to the extreme heat… fun.  

She then turned her head back to the man again as he approached. She was waiting for something of a cool guy one liner or something but instead she got one that made her smirk a bit. She couldn't tell if he was joking around or genuine thought they needed. Dahlia rose to her feet noticing all the blood was off her now thanks to takara’s jutsu. She ran her hand through a bit of her still frizzy hair for a moment before focusing her eyes on the new arrival. Only for her attention to be pulled towards the ground. Her eyes narrowed as she looked about for the source. With something with this kind of shaking the beast would have to be big, so it shouldn’t be hard to spot unless it was cloaked by something.

“You  don’t say…” Dahlia muttered to Takara’s something's coming as she watched the barrier set in. “.... Then let's regret that decision yah?”

She said, looking to the other to holding her tanto at the ready before her eyes shifted to the source of the ground tremors.

Post 8

Valen was a prodigious master of eloquence. The Lord of Repartee, the world wide grand champion of dialogue. As such he had an absolutely stunning response to Takara's observation that he had attracted something big. "Ya think?" Utterly perfect. It fit him, to the point, as few syllables as possible to get said point across, and delivered with a heaping helping of snark. Of course none of that really mattered as several buildings suddenly crashed down and forward ahead of them where the street ended. Small fires from his previous jutsu still dotted the road and all they seemed to do was add ambience to the shadow that showed through the haze of dust kicked up from the collapse of the buildings. The creature was huge although not terribly so. It's skin seemed to be some incredibly rocky and durable structure and it's eyeless head complete with a horn like crown that it had clearly used to impact the center mass of the buildings rose up as a mouth filled with flat, gnashing teeth roared in anger and malice. It was a big brute of a creature and it lowered it's head, intent upon it's targets as it focused upon the three shinobi. It began to lumbering, heavy footed charge and moved toward them, slowly picking up speed as it came closer and closer.

Idly Valen watched the creature come and noted the devastation it had caused to the buildings. Had it had as much distance to build up speed upon the other side? Had they seen the maximum damage it could do with a single charge? It had been quite destructive. However Valen had seen more destructive things, and people, today. With a single hand motion he would order the two women away. His sword in hand he moved forward to meet the beasts charge. The order had not been for them to quit the field and he was confident Takara would recognize that and inform the smaller, orange haired one. He simply wanted them out of the line of destruction while he tried to test the limits of this creatures power. As it charged it lowered it's head, seeing a challenger against it's formidable might. Valen turned his sword downward at his side, his steps sure and confident. He wasn't moving overly fast, a quick walk at best. As the creature reached him but before it could impact him, he shifted, spinning to the side and out of the beasts line of destruction. As he moved his Blade of Ashes flashed into the beasts hide and..well it did cut, but it was not as deep as he might have thought. It didn't even appear to reach blood. The unsuccessful charge would have the beast continuing on, body trying to swerve sharply and failing.

Clearly it did not corner well.

Regardless this would be more difficult than he thought if the head of the creature was that well armored. Perhaps a different location then? The beasts skull seemed to be the part designed to take the most impacts. Perhaps it was more heavily armored there. But less armored on the sides? It couldn't be so thickly armored everywhere and maintain any kind of speed. Calling out toward his two companions. The only two other defenders of the Emporium that were within the area of the barrier that had formed. "Hit the sides." He would call as the beast turned back toward him, and turning what was hopefully it's most armored side toward him and away from his companions.

The Uchiha woman climbed on up and rudely asked him what he wanted. She was certainly intense. She was everything e expected to see in an Uchiha. Arrogant and rude. For a moment, he regretted asking her to come up here, and this regret showed on his face. He bit his lip and tried not to look at her.

He could see some gigantic monster in the distance that Dahlia and Takara were fighting. They seemed to be joined once again by the very cool Valen. Yuichi determined his presence by the massive amounts of fire that surrounded the group and the beast. He almost withed that he could watch this fight go down.

"If you wouldn't mind, um, please use your strongest fire attack. I will use one of my techniques to help your attacks have more of an impact. From up here we should be able to attack from an angle that the crowd might be attacked from without being overwhelmed."

He spoke quickly, because he only had a brief moment before more xenobeasts arrived to head for the crowd. He formed the hand signs for his jutsu and waited on Kanara. He would release his attack the moment after she used hers.

Jutsu:

Looking at the girl in front of her, Kanara raised an eyebrow. She seemed somewhat shy to tell her the reason she called Kanara over. It didnt seem like she was getting overwhelmed either. Finally catching her breath again, Kanara felt how much chakra she had left and decided to go with his idea. She had still enough to make an escape if she needed to, so she could affort a few more uses of the only fire technique she knew.

"Allright then, get ready..."

Peforming the neccesary seal for the Phoenix sage fire technique, she spit out another volley of perfectly shaped, searing how fireballs, guiding them towards the enemies. Eas one sure able to at least cause great damage to the enemy lines when they would hit. And they did. With firey explosions the volley hit its target, or rather targets, they burst into searing flames. Having her back turned to Yuichi, she didnt see what he had done to empower her jutsus, but it certainly mas a success. The ususaly small, though lethal fire explosions were now bigger and seemingly more devastating, as their explosive radius had doubled and their attacks left the enemies in a pile of unidentifyable body parts, that slowly dissolved in their own acid blood. Appearently some of those creatures werent even safe from their own blood. Turing around again to the girl behind her she praised her:

"Good work back there... what exactly did you do to make them this strong?"

The questiopn was valid, as she never saw the phoenix sage fire so strong before and certainly wanted to learn this technique so she could make them better by herself.

Takara couldn't help but chuckle at Dahlia's reply, coming to understand that this was just a part of who she was, this vulgar speech and witty remarks. They didn't have much time to smile or even barely take a breath though before the ground revealed that they had more incoming enemies through the vibrations of methodical footfalls. They couldn't tell what it was until it leveled an entire building and then turned, rearing its ugly head towards them and beginning to charge in their direction. Knowing full well that they wouldn't be taking that on directly, as Valen waived his arm to the side, Takara grabbed Dahlia's hand for a moment and helped her move up and to the side silently. So long as she complied, they would find themselves on a ridge to the side of the charge, watching Valen carefully... but just as she was getting ready to speak on a plan, she heard something else.

"Kill... me..."

Takara wheeled around for a moment, trying to find out what was happening, and saw an older man, obviously a civilian, about average height and build, and absolutely covered in the creature's blood, their skin producing blisters and boils in reaction.. And he wasn't the only one; several more were present and slowly shambling in their direction, hands reaching out, eyes bloodshot, their movements looking like a puppet user had gotten ahold of them. Forced. Resisted. A dozen people were shambling in their direction, and they were going to wind up being a threat, but one they couldn't simply kill. She turned her attention to Dahlia now, the plan rapidly changing in her mind. "Save them. Disable them somehow and keep them safe. I'm going to help Valen with the big creature and keep it from coming this way. Once you have them rounded up I'll wash them off all in one go." She was suddenly thankful that she had washed off Dahlia as often as she had; she could be very dangerous if controlled by the creatures.

But how were they doing that?

She would have time, she hoped, to look into that later. For now, she needed to help Valen. Producing another massive water shuriken that began to spin rapidly, she moved along the ridge to get a better angle and as it turned to face him, launched the shuriken at the beast. It was a very powerful Jutsu, so she hoped it would pierce the hide, but now was the time to update the situation for the swordsman. "Don't get the blood on you! If you do, let me wash it off right away! There are a bunch of civilians up here that are being controlled through the blood somehow!" If Valen was controlled, they were all dead. That much she was certain of.

Swarms of beasts continued on, until a stranger Seigi hadn't met before released a massive breath of fire, annihalting most of them in its fury. Seigi would get as low to the ground as he could, watching as most of the sand spikes that remained in the ground were turned to glass. As he stood up, he would wipe the dirt from himself, gazing at the carnage, only getting a moment before the thudding footsteps alerted the group to something bigger, something more destructive. The giant beast charged them, and the man who took out the Xenobeasts charged in to meet it head-on, striking it fast and hard, but not enough to break it's hide or hinder it's charge. Seigi would jump into the fight, his cloak of sand unraveling as he jumped forward. 

 "I don't have enough sand to do the full body," He would think to himself, observing the piles of sand that had been turned to glass, "but this should be enough!" 

 Whatever sand was left would begin pulling itself around Seigi, creating the torso and then arms, and finally, a massive head made of sand, until a giant version of Seigi's upper-half took form in the beasts path. He would use the sand body to confront the giant monster, attempting to stop it's charge.

 "Hit it now!" He would yell, emerging from the back of the giant, letting the tons of sand used to create the sand body fall loosely ontop of and around the giant beast, hoping to slow it down.

Dahlia’s eyes grew wider as things literally came topping down around them as the giant beast came in their direction. Dahlia then locked eyes with it or what she thought maybe eyes? Who knows, and who cares it was massive and looking right at them. Her brain strained to keep this more immediate threat in check with her emotions as tears slowly rolled down her face with the bottom of her eye twitching. Her mouth slowly parted a bit as she felt her heart racing. Her breath slowly staggered as her vision started to darken…

She knew what this was, shit she was passing out from the mental and emotional strain. If she did she would be a liability as well as more likely to die. She then bit down onto her bottom lip hard enough to draw blood sending a wave of adrenaline through her body regrounding her again. As blood slowly trickled from the corner of her mouth she focused on not the beast but her own thoughts, something she knew was far scarier than that beast. Her father, her mother, her family, all of them were killed. She knew there were worse things to witness than this thing, she couldn’t let her fear control her, not when there were other families trying to survive.

She settled her emotions again with some strain and a mild headache, and minor nosebleed from the stress added onto her. She looked at the beast with cold and focused eyes releasing her lip. Despite her focus she knew she couldn’t win against a thing like that. So when Valen signaled them away she gave a single nod to him. Then Takara tried to grab her hand and guide her. She didn’t let her this time. She ran alongside her but spoke firmly.

“I’m a ninja too, you know. I know when and when not to move.” She said in a cold tone due to her current mental state, however her intention was more to try to remind the girl to not try to focus on protecting her so much and see and work with her as an equal again even if the stakes had risen.

Afterall it would be more dangerous for them both if Takara focused her attention on her rather than the battle. She moved with just fine silent grace now that she was more focused again and followed Takra to the location they needed to stow away to. She perked her head up a bit as she heard Valen’s information on its sides, however her attention turned to the request that still managed to chill her to her core upon hearing it. Then she froze seeing the people… their suffering… yes she was glad she wasn’t in that situation but… these people weren't so lucky.

Then Takara made her request… seriously? She didn’t have much chakra left, and most of her jutsu’s were lethal or maiming not saving… not at this current moment at least. She reached for her pouch to go for her wraps. She needed them to cover her skin and-... shit right, she gave those to Yuichi. She zipped up her vest then. She didn't know if the blood needed skin contact or not but it was better safe than sorry. She then took the sheath off her side and slipped it onto the tanto using the string on it to tire it to the handle to keep the blade covered.

She then pulled out some of her wire from her pouch and a kunai as she started to dart around the approaching civilians to heard them like sheep away from Takara, and more in a large bundle of a group.She then tired the wire to the loop of the kunai and threw it into a wall before she began to race around the civilians in a wide girth leaping and dodging limps while whapping a few on the back of the head with her Tanto to knock out a few of them that would manage to be able to be knocked out given her tool and strength bot benign the best suited for the situation.

After a few loops she  managed to bundle up a chunk of them. Thankfully the wire did most of the work for her as did the civilians nature to be more focused on her thenan the wire and moved as one now making her get away with not much applied strength to keep them in said close bundle.

“That’s the best you're getting! Blast em!”

Kanara's face lit up as fire filled the streets below and the killed many xenobeasts in one swift attack. Yuichi was quite proud of his idea, and this was obvious in his voice as he spoke up, "well I saw earlier that Seigi guy used a jutsu almost just like the one I just used to power up one of Dahlia's fire attacks, and I was willing to bet I could do the same thing for you."

Yuichi wiped off as much blood as he could with the blanket that she had given him, but he only smudged more of it all over himself. Eventually, he got as much as he thought he could and threw the blanket on the ground. the group had all left to fight that giant thing for glory, which left the two Uchiha's to defend against

Hey, since that worked out so well, how about we give it another go, that way we can keep up with the incoming hordes."

Looking at yuichi, Kanara heard how proud he was of his idea and the success it had.

"Sure, why not..."

Turning around another time she got ready as she slowly did the handseals and kneaded the chakra in her body, mixing it until it got burning hot, while she looked into the direction of the horde that was about to approach. Scanning them with her sharingan she noticed that while they were still the same towering beasts that obviously were able to easily tear a normal human apart, they allready were injured. Maybe there was somewhere else fighting going on.

"Get ready cause here i go"

Releasing the perfectly shaped fireballs from her mouth once more she watched as they raced towards the enemies as they suddenly got bigger and seemed to burn brigther, surely thanks to yuichis skill. Seeing as they hit their targets perfectly again, Kanara felt a sense of pride and accomplishment for her too. After all it still were her fireballs and her skill that made it so all of them hit their targets. Turning around to face yuichi to comment on their good teamwork again she started:

"We really do make a good team... what was you name aga...",

when suddenly a scream could be hear closely. Instantly looking into the direction of the scream, Kanara spotted a hulking creature from afar, clearly no human and it was obvious that it also had heard the scream. However Kanara wouldnt allow fate to decide wether the poor soul that was screaming would die or not. Taking initiative she speeded into the direction of the scream, after telling yuichi quickly:

"I will be back shortly... and if not then its probably best to stay away from there..."

EXIT (for now, lightning takes over)

Lighning seemd to have awakened at just the right time. Shaking her head she angrily went onto the street, seeing piles of dead bodies before her. However the bodies werent human, in fact they reesembled some kind of weir creatures, she had never seen before. Taking her ninjato-vibrato sword out of its sheath she wandered down the desserted street, following the smell of burning corpses. Coming closer to a place where a large battle was concluded she saw a massaker. It seemed like whoever fought here was a true demon of some kind, or a larger group of shinobi. Bodies layed around Lightning deformed in all kinds of was. Wither they seemed to be shredded by something immensely powerful, burnt, slit open or just pierced by an invisible weapon, there were hundrets of the beasts laying around, with mor bodies coming froma certain direction.

Approaching even further she stopped when she suddenly heard a scream from awar. Either it was a women or a child that were screaming. Turning towards the direction she heard the scream from, she decided to run. After a short while she spotted a lone girl on a rooftop.

Leaping onto the rooftops she approached the seemingly girl like looking person and asked:

"Do you know what the hell is going on here? Why are all those bodies laying all over the place? And were you the one that was screaming?"

Valen heard Takara's words but did not outwardly acknowledge them. He was focused on the task at hand and he filed away the threat of the blood like multiple other things this day. Coldly, and without mercy. He doubted the blood could function properly if it wasn't making contact with skin so his cloak would actually give him an advantage in terms of the blood getting on him properly. By that he meant that it would be more difficult for the blood to touch his skin. Between his attire the only revealed skin was actually only his face and idly he would reach into the cloak, sheathing his Blade of Ashes as he did and remove a detachable mask. It attached to the hood of the cloak and was removable. Once that was done he would pull the hood up and quickly attack the mask to it. This covered his head and face almost entirely, leaving only the eyes visible.

He did this as the beast charged him, moving with calm movements as he watched the beast impassively. For he had noticed what the beast had not. Sand would suddenly slam into the front of the creature. The grainy substance was impossible to be crushed. Simply because it was already so small. No matter how powerful one was, no matter how determined, sand could never be destroyed outright with mere physical force. The creature's momentum was halted suddenly, and as it was the water shuriken he had also seen Takara launch slammed into the side of the beast. It cut deep into it's flesh and a roar of rage and pain erupted it from it's throat as it reared it's head back in pain from the deep wound. Which is when Valen, moving calmly, drew his weapon once more after having donned his mask and with a swipe of the black blade cut through the beasts throat.

The cry it was releasing was strangled suddenly as air tried to move through a pathway that was compromised and black blood poured out. Valen moved aside, letting the creatures life blood flow out of it before it finally fell over, it's movements halted by the sweet release of death. Flicking his sword he would remove the blood from it in one smooth motion before sheathing the weapon again and looking toward Takara and Dahlia. As he did however a great, high pitch, and ferocious scream that came from no human throat ripped through the area.

Valen turned toward the still settling haze of dust that the large creatures entrance had created only to see another strange creature standing there atop some of the rubble. It had a shiny carapace like exoskeleton and an elongated head. A great whipping tail and seemed to have no eyes. Vicious claws adorned it's hands and when it opened it's mouth a separate, smaller mouth upon it's tongue produced the ghastly sounding scream.

Then Valen heard other screams as the men and women that Dahlia and Takara were working to subdue began to transform. They grasped their heads and screamed in soul shattering agony before beginning to transform into more monsters. Valen's eyes looked to the shinobi, himself, Dahlia, Takara, and the sand user. None were transformed and of the civilians only those with blood on them had done so. Now, Valen did not yell, he never does. He always projects a sense of calm viciousness about it and he maintains that form carefully. All he did was simply add chakra to his normal voice level to increase it's volume so everyone could hear.

And none of you fuckers can prove otherwise.

"The blood is the transformation catalyst!" His voice would call out as the creature that had caused the transformation turned toward him. It ran at him, it's steps almost raptor-like and it's head leaned forward. The tongue like appendage extended out and screamed again it's screeching war cry echoing out. It would retract the tongue back into it's mouth as it raised a claw and began to slash down. Valen's own sword swung up to match it and with a solid sounding 'clang' the claw and blade met. Interestingly enough his weapon did not cut through the creatures claws. Narrowing his eyes he would use the creatures strength against it and with a turn of his weapon and a sudden guiding slash downward he would force the creatures own might to help him swing the weapon.

It scored upon his carapace and the black exoskeleton did not break. Valen quickly skipped away from the creatures follow up blow with her other claw and parried away a swipe from her vicious looking tail. A sickly green liquid was on the tip of the appendage and he felt confident that if he let that hit him at all then he would not be long for this world. One way or another.

Stuff:

Takara noted the Water Shuriken burrowing into the target and doing what she felt was more than likely fatal damage, but Valen was taking no chances and ended the beast completely, nicely dodging the blood and equipping some things that she didn't recognize, but almost immediately saw the benefit of.  She wore what she did to hopefully draw his eye, and because it was a large factor in her freedom of movement.  Considering what the enemy creatures were using as weapons, she regretted not having a more combat-oriented outfit, but that was fine; she would just have to make sure to keep them at range and work on trying to keep Dahlia clean.  Speaking of which, she wanted to tell the orange-haired girl that she was a literal child and Takara couldn't really make assumptions that she would make the right moves in order to not be killed, but looking back now that they had a breather, she noted that the young lady was just about done getting all the mind-controlled captives together.

"Perfect.  Let's get that crap off of you guys."  They were still squirming and trying to get free, but the wire was too strong.  But before she could do that, another ear-shattering screech sounded in the area and they were suddenly confronted with a new problem as a much bigger variety of the creatures began to approach and drew her attention.  "A queen maybe?"  Not much could have torn her attention away from the Matriarch, as she mentally dubbed it, but the sound of agonizing screams and bones shattering definitely did the trick.  Turning towards the captured people, she watched in absolute horror as skin boiled and gave way to shiny black capaces, joints forcibly reformed, and they transformed into more of the monsters that they had been killing in mass.

That explained their numbers... that explained why they didn't find hardly any survivors.  Why the only corpses they found weren't civilians, but instead the fighters.  "Shit..."  Not all of them transformed the same way, however.  Two of them still looked roughly human although far more sickly, that alien blood pouring from their mouth and a large organ protruding from their chest in place of what had to be the human form's stomach originally.  An additional set of smaller arms under the original, and both hands larger and tipped with massive claws.  With surprising grace and speed, they lept backward as the freshly cloned juvenile creatures moved to attack them both.  She would have to think about the ramifications of this later; for the moment, she needed to protect them and take a moment, and a large amount of swirling water pooled around her and Dahlia both as she formed her Water Shield.  They could see through it roughly, and the creatures were clawing at it, but with no success.

"I... I just need a moment to think..."  That was when the first human-like one spat a large glob of blood at her, which began to mix with her water shield and degrade its integrity.  They didn't have long, but Takara wasn't the type to be able to do something like this without a plan...  She needed just a bit of time.  Valen was busy fighting the matriarch... Dahlia was low on Chakra... what could she do?

Kanara had left him as well, and for a moment Yuichi was alone. He could see from here that Takara and the others were having trouble, but without Kanara to assist in his plans, he was surrounded by the time a new stranger arrived and asked him a question which he did not have time to listen to. He had already begun to form to form hand signs. Yuichi had the utmost confidence in Takara's abilities, and they had succeeded in driving off a large portion of the horde. He was ready to jump back into combat when he had heard somebody yell from a great distance. He could not understand it, but he knew that it was coming from the same direction that Takara was in.

He looked back at the crowd that he was supposed to be helping, which was quickly being surrounded. Xenomorphs tore into the outmost layer of the crowd, ripping the apart the defenseless people trying to flee the city. It was Takara, Dahlia, and the others, or the crowd of people. Both decisions were undesirable. He was entirely frozen as he listened to the screams of the refugees. He shook a bit as he made his decision. Takara stood a chance without him, but to these people he was their only chance.

He looked at the newcomer with piercing crimson eyes. "I am not a strategist or anything like that, but if you call yourself a shinobi... He finished the hand seals and looked at his opponents, the xenos that were busy attacking the crowd. "Then follow me."

With that, Yuichi began, breathing out enormous blades of wind that shot out in every direction with lightning speed striking their targets with a force that tore them to bits, along with the cement beneath them. This was his newest - and favorite - jutsu. His only S rank offensive ability: Vacuum Serial Waves!

After that, he blitzed the next xenobeast that he saw, taking its head clean off with his kunai and moving on before a single drop or their blood hit him. He saw a tail whip in his direction out of the corner of his eye, which he swiftly dodged, throwing his kunai at the same time before moving in to take his kunai back from the xenobeasts chest, finishing in of in one more swipe.

Jutsu:

"Pfft."

Lightning couldnt say more as she wathced Yuichi take of in a hurry after unleashing his jutsu on some of the beasts before engaging in combat with the beasts. Sighing she followed him, letting her chakra run through her ninjato as it seemingly came to life with violent sparks. While the blade looked aside from the sparks normal to the eye, it carried a dealy secret. Something the first xeno beast got a taste of immediately as it attacked her. She by far wasnt as fast as the girl she asked her questions to, however she didnt have to aim for a weakspot as literally a single, well placed hit cut right through the enemies and finished them in the same moment.

The ones that barely survived the blade as it went through them like a hot knife through molten butter, got to taste lightnings chakra flow, as they were laying on the ground, thier muscles twitching as the electricity overloaded their nervous systems. Cutting through the beasts the storm of creatures didnt seems to end. While Lighning couldnt bother less if there were a dozen or hundrets coming, as they were slow and stupid, running into her blade in hopes of catching her, she also wanted her questions answered. Judging by how many beast were laying scattered around the area, the enemy they were fighting against had enormous forces.

Finishing yet another beast she took a look at the girl she asked earlier. Lightning didnt even know her name, yet they were fighting side by side. Advancing in her direction, killing beasts left and right with precise, swift motions he finally reached her and shouted over the battle:

"So, what if you answer my questions now? And do you have something that can create a wall?"

Dahlia nodded as Takara went to wash them off after a beautiful and epic take down done by Valen and Takara.  Dahlia held the wire the best she could as they all struggled ready for the blast only to feel a sense of dread as a new scream came out. What was it this time...? Then suddenly the people she held together began to turn... as did Dahlias stomach as she watched them. Likely a new creature was around, however all Dahlia could focus on were the people transforming within the wires she bound them in. Valen pointed out the blood which made easy sense but in the moment it hadn't clicked the point until it was spoken. yet another reason to keep it off of you... Which was horrible for Dahlia and all her exposed skin on her stomach arms and one of her legs. Curse you Fashion statements!

Dahlia's face dropped upon seeing what they turned into... their forms...

"People... we've been killing people this whole time...." She said with a shaky voice.

She watched as the beasts swaemed them only to be blocked by Takaras shield. Her eyes fell to her hands. She had been slaughtering people. ... countless lives... she looked to Takra as the shield broke down. She was breaking down, Valen was fighting... all that there was left was her. She couldn't defeat this foe... her memories of Tengoku asking if she could fight on in a tough spot came, then the memory of her fathers smile as he fought a foe he couldnt destroy just to buy thd kthers time.

"Then think. Bite back your fear." She unsheather her tanto before darting forward as the front part of the berrier broke. "And fight on!"

She narrowed her eyes as she bobbed and weaved slashing at the beasts narrowly avoiding blood and projectile s aimed at her. She slowly making her ay onyop of one beast leaping from oneto another until she found one that was the tallest. She sheathed her tanto as she did a stream of hand seals. She then waited for the beast to rear its arm back and leapt at it she landed her foot on it s arm then jumped right as it swinged to launch herself high up into the air. She puffed her her cheeks hold her hand by her mouth as tears rolled down her cheeks. The images of the monters below turned into normal sad looking people. 'I'm sorry' she then narrowed her eyes as she saw the imaginary form of her father form beside her as they both used Great Fireball Jutsu firing off a continous sfeam of fire at the monsters below to buy takra more time. 'Even if we can't win the few things we do to help others live are still vital... right papa?' She thought as she smiled into her jutsu as she blew the fire out. Even if she died here and now at least she would know she made her father proud.

It was around this time that Yuichi took notice of the fact that several of the people he had just saved near the exit had been sprayed in the acidic blood. As their skin bubbled up, they began to scream, twisting and convulsive until their flesh began to tear, revealing the black scales of a zenobeast. Their face contorted and their bones cracked. It screamed like nothing he had ever heard throughout the entire process. Hideous teeth grew and tore through the lips as the jaw enlarge and stretched the skin, tearing it to show more black scales.

People were being transformed. Were shinobi being transformed as well? What triggered it? Why hadn't Yuichi become a xenobeast? Were they still human? All of these questions got pushed to the back of his mind, as the newborn xenobeast came for him as soon as it had formed in completion, soaked in the blood of the person who it had been born from. Yuichi avoided its attack. Instead of attempting to kill it, Yuichi fled.

As he passed by Lightening, he offered a brief apology as he ran right passed her. How many potential people had he just killed? Ten? Fifteen? Twenty? Did anybody else realize that these things were people? That they were killing countless innocents. Was he going to horribly and painfully transform into a hideous beast and then be put down by his fellow shinobi? He felt like he could be sick. He could throw up again. He killed enough today. He could barely focus on the movement of his legs as he stumbled to a stop on as roof.

He listened for a moment. The screams had subsided somewhat. How far had he gone from the exit? He turned to check, and he could barely see the crowd as a dozen or so xenobeasts attacked the crowd he was supposed to be protecting. Takara and everybody else were busy with their own fight. He had no idea where Lightening was after he left her behind.

Lighting was in her element now. No armour that would stop her blade as it made its way through the air, so fast that the top of her blade was singing a silent song. No enemies that actually tried to evade her as the rushed towards her, embracing the death that awaited them at Lightnings blade. They would sacrifice hundrets of those beasts just to touch her a single time. As weird as it was, Lightning felt at peace now. the swift motions that she made were trained in advance, hundrets of times over the years.

It was as if she was made for this. She snapped out of her peaceful state when she reminded herself where she was. She wasnt in a dojo, training her swordmanship. She was on a battlefield, fighting for life and death. Why the hell was she feeling peacful now all of a sudden? Was it the fact that she protected the innocents from those savage beasts? Certainly that had to be the reason.

Mumbling out a quick: "What the...", as Yuichi speeded past her she looked after him. Fine he should run if he liked to do so, she would stand her ground. SHe had far too much fun down there. Defending the innocents of course. However when she heard another cream the illision fel of from her. Was she really defending the innocents here? Or did she have fun because she just slaughtered those animals as they rushed her. Seeing up to the strange girl, Lightning could barely see her take off in the direction of the screams. Gritting her teeth she jumped a few steps back. Slowly, painfully lowering her blade and choking down the urge to slaughter the beasts she ran after him. The screams reminded her of her reason to be a shinobi. It werent her people, however she would fight in order to protect them if needed so.

In his crisis, Yuichi had taken out his anger and fear on these xenobeasts. He felt like he had no choice, but now that he knew they were people his own actions appalled him. Didn't he hate violence? She was soaked in their blood. Human blood was caked into his hair. He was covered in cuts and scrapes and burns. This is how it felt to be a shinobi? This was the career that his mother and father were so desperate to see him pursue? He hadn't saved any lives today.

Except, Kanara. He had sworn to himself to defend Takara as well. Could he justify killing dozens and dozens of people in order to save just a few? He couldn't bring himself to act.

His mother's words still rang through his head. We don't get to choose who we are. Yuichi knew, no matter what he did somebody would see his actions as wrong. The best he could do was follow his own code. What he had done today was wrong, and he should not kill another xenobeast.

The crowd was being decimated as people tried their best to flee during the panic. Things had gotten bad quickly without a shinobi to defend them. Yuichi's feet shuffled as he argued with himself about whether or not he should help. It should be a simple matter, the xenobeasts are berserk. They are monsters running about and killing and eating people. But they were people once... right?

Finally catching up to the Uchiha girl she saw earlier she saw what attracted his attention. Xenobeasts left and right as they were mowing down innocent civilians. Not even stopping slightly she rushed in the direction of the xenobeast crowd, clearly eager to take the first kills for herself. Now she had a purpose for her bloodlust and all the killing. Yes. Now it must be justifed. Seeing as some people turned into beasts themselfes she took initiative and struk them down before they fully transformed. Some of the people that got killed by here in the process of transforming continued to do so, while others simply stopped. Taking the slightest of moments she caught and snatched a arm that flew from the air, partly transformed, and put it in her bag.

She wasnt out for trophies, but literally science. After all, if it was some kind of poison, it was likely that Kumo could possibly develop a cure for this, should they need it. And it was better to be prepared and ready then be morally superior and sorry for a wasted opportunity. After all that was what being a shinobi or kunoichi was all about, right? She served her people and her country.

Being finished with a large portion of the beasts that were attacking the crowd, she noticed that a group of them had split off, walking in an opposite direction. Trusting that the Uchiha girl was enough to deal with things here she pursued them in blind bloodrage, desperate to end another life and one more after that one... . Running through the small streets she finally found what caught their interest. It was a child trapped in her house. Through a miracle the door had survived until her arrival. As Lightning mowed down the beasts and afterwards opened the door by force, calming the child, a young boy inside down. As he continued to cry Lightning focused on stopping him crying, as he reminded her of her sister.

Kanara had to hurry. However the injured teenage girl she had over her shoulder really didnt help her in this quest. After all Kanara was far from being strong in any way, and the only way she was able to carry the girl after all was that she was lightly built. Kanara had found her in an allyway. A dead end with one of those beasts at the other side slowly aproaching. By the time Kanara was able to attck the beast, it had allready clawed at the girl she found, taking out a good piece of her arm. Trying to counter the blood loss, Kanara even went as far as sacrifising part of her clothes, shredding it into a weird combination of a bandage and a tourniquet. While it certainly wasnt up to proper medical equipment, it got the job done. However the girl had a long way to recover ahead.

Passing the place where yuichi was before, she frowned as she didnt see him before. However as she saw that he wasnt laying dead on the ground and the fact that there were sereval new beats laying on the ground got Kanaras hoped up. Looking at one of those wounds she noticed that the cut was strangely clean. Asking herself if Yuichi had a blade she continued her way. Last time she saw him he didnt have one, and the way the wounds on the beasts were, there was no way that a normal kunai was able to do that.

As she reached an interesection she saw yuichi again, however also dozens of dead civilians and beasts alike. Kanara couldnt shake the feeling that this was her fault. After all she went away, even if it was just for a short amount of time, in orderto save a single girl. Was this girl really worth it? A mere teenager, managing to get herself trapped in an ally and likely to die from an infection anyways? Disregarding ehr thoughs the put the girl gently down adn hid her from the blank eye. She wasn neither judge nor jury, and she did what she did because it was the right thing to do. She didnt have any obligation to help those people, so everything she did, was beyond the things she HAD to do. Saving even only a single life was better then noone in that context.

Joining Yuichi now she quickly closed the gap between them and enganged in combat too, as she shouted to him:

"Did you miss me?", completely disregarding the amount of dead civilians.

While Yuichi was being indecisive, Kanara had been busy saving lives and actually doing something. She went out of her way to find him and snuck up on him with a moderate degree of success. He had noticed her just before she asked her question. He may not have known her, but he was still relieved to see her again. For a moment, he looked back and forth between her and the crowd that was being attacked.

“I… umm…”

What was he supposed to say? He saw somebody transform into one of those monsters and now he was afraid that he himself would become one as well? That he was too scared to keep fighting? Or that he was having a moral crisis? He probably didn’t have time to explain, anyway.

Tears started to swell up in his eyes. “I don’t know what to do.” Images of the violence of the day continued to flash through his head. He looked sick. "I was so scared for a moment, I - I thought I might actually die."

He was a coward. Plain and simple. He could try and justify it all he wanted but, in the end, he was just to scared to continue fighting. He could not bear the thought of transforming into one of those. The horrible way he transformed would haunt Yuichi for the rest of his life.

Stopping for a minute she didnt say anything. Looking at Yuichi she didnt want to answer to that. After all Kanara was bad at motivating herself so she figured she would only make it worse if she tried. INstead he simply reached for Yuichis shoulder, where she simply rested her hand on it and gently squeezed it.

Kanara knew that sometimes all it took was some ankor to find back to reality, and she was going to be this for Kanara. Seeing as he visibly was upset she decided to add further to her wordless expression:

"Its ok. Snap out of it... maybe we failed partly... but there are people now here that need our help. If you cant or dont want to anymore, i understand... just get to safety then."

Letting go of his shoulder she went into combat again. She didnt have time for this, though she was honest. If he choose to flee, then he shoudl at least be safe. Kanara wouldnt run unless necessary, defending or at least trying to defend the civilians.

Readying her kunai she went into war, striking beast after best down, her sharingan glowing as she evaded the beasts and sunk her dagger into them in return, careful not to get hit by the acidic blood.

She talked like it was an easy decision, but she didn't see what he saw. This whole thing had just been one long beatdown and seeing that person become a xenobeast was utterly horrifying. Just thinking about it made him sick. That could have been him during most of his time here.

Kanara didn't stay after saying everything she had to and leapt right back into combat. Yuichi was amazed at the willpower of each person still fighting. They had seen unspeakable horrors today, things that would hurt them for the rest of their lives, but the managed to keep fighting as if it didn't matter. Like they may not transform into a hideous beast. He still held on to one kunai from before. He was sure he was going to die or transform any minute now. It was a miracle that he had not been swarmed while he was having his little crisis.

He crouched down and began carving on a tile of the roof. He thought for a moment. Before Kanara left, they were atop a roof shooting jutsu down at the xenobeast, and the plan was reasonably effective. He arrived a new plan. He wasn't willing to kill more zenobeasts, but he could make it hard for them to get after more people. They were much too good at climbing for him to have any practical way of trapping them, but he could get away with the exact same thing that Takara was doing now.

He could run fast, and make himself a big target for the xenobeast, that way, at least he could do some good. Yuichi prepared himself mentally, placing his last kunai in a blood-soaked pouch on his leg, before using a tiger sign and moving so fast that he tore up the roof tile under his feet. He was back at the exit in no time. Xenos were attacking the crowd, but luckily all the ones that were over here were huddled together, so all Yuichi had to do was get one's attention and he would have the rest.

He moved in for what seemed like a devastating attack, before delivering a few punches to one of the xenobeasts. He made as much sound as possible. It worked out, as around five xenobeasts all turned toward him as Yuichi formed a tiger sign and stepped a small bit away, out of the range of their massive tails. Three of them began climbing over each other to get to him first. Yuichi turned around and lead them away from the crowd, planning on circling back around to deal with the rest as soo as he figured out what to do with these ones

Running ahead kanara quickly engaged enemies. Not being noticed by them she was ablet to get a few solid hits on multiple beasts, yet again, their size and sluggishness their biggest weakness. Seeing one beast after another drop to the ground as the kunai pierced their torso at a specific location, Kanara focused her attacks to this position. Despite their insect like armour, they could be penetrated by a kunai and from the looks of it the very same location held soem kind of vital organ. This however didnt stop Kanara to check if the really were dead, as she followed up by stabbing the dead ones in the side with her kunai quickly.

It was basic ninja one o one to always look out for ambushes,and while she didnt think they had more going on insider their head then the lust for blood, she wasnt goign to die in case they were smarter then anticipated.

Looking to the side she saw yuichi suddenly, clearly following some kind of plan, as Kanara could see the "fire" in his eyes again, determined to do whatever it was he wanted to do. By the time Kanara realised what it was she frowned a bit. However distracting the enem was better then nothing so she gladly took on the help, as she wondered what exactly it was that he saw earlier, that took away his fighting spirit. Shouting to Yuichi:

"Good work!" as he passed her, she continued her bloodwork.

Yuichi stayed close enough to keep the xenobeasts attention as he raced them through the battered streets of the HE. He moved in a rather large circle around the entrance. He was sure to make plenty on noise and make himself into a big target. Now that he had built up a rather large number of them, he tried to think of methods to trap them. His options were limited, as he didn't have any jutsu that were good for capturing.

These things seemed strong enough to break out of any ordinary cages or nets, not that he had either as an option. He allowed them to chase him up and around the buildings, through parks, all over while considering his extremely limited options. He wouldn't kill them unless he had no other options and doing so while avoiding their blood would probably take up a large portion of his chakra so he wasn't sure he could keep going after he did.

Eventually, he found himself clean on the other end of the HE, looking down at the water quite a way under the city. It seemed that they were over some kind of lake or perhaps the ocean. That was a fall that would kill any ordinary person. Xenobeasts gathered around him as he thought for a moment. He removed the flute that he carried with him, took a deep breath of wind chakra, and blew through the instrument, creating a loud, ear piecing screech that could be heard throughout most of the city. The sound was absolutely horrible, but xenobeasts from all over turned their attention to the source of the noise, Yuichi.

He allowed them to gather around a bit more. He'd lost count a while ago, but there was probably around twenty or so. Considerably more than he could deal with under normal circumstances. His plan worked so far, he hoped that the rest went so smoothly. He felt made himself physically sick with what he was about to do. If this worked out as it did in his head, the xenobeasts would live, but if it didn't, he would be killing many all at once. He hoped that he could at least not kill them.

If he waited another moment, he would be attacked, so he started to from hand seals as he spung into action, charging forward at the large group he had gathered.
