Appearance:
Tokugawa may be noted most to wear black Hakama's and Geta, red Naganami's and specially crafted Haori with missing sleeves, carrying a Senju crest on its back and a Hidden leaf Forehead protector. While many of his family are tan due to the suns rays, Tokugawa exists in a near pale pigment though shows signs of darkening with age. His hair is wild like a lion's mane and black as a summer starry night and while training to be Shinobi has beefed up his body a considerable deal from most children his age, he retains a deep boyish charm reflected by radiant dark colored eyes and expression.
History:
Born to Senju, Hizawa and Senju, Bihan; Tokugawa first tasted life in the welcomed arms of a loving mother and Father. Under their care, he would learn quickly what it this life was all about and took fast to his Father; Senju, Hizawa's teachings as though his very life depended on it. What he could never know was that some day...it very well could have. Learning to stand and walk took some effort but in no time Tokugawa had proven himself resilient in this necessary task. Tired of feeling and smelling the stink of bowel, potty training himself with some guidance had also come easy enough. Not even a year old young Tokugawa had managed to walk several paces on his own, find the bathroom and even cloth himself where the option presented itself. Already, to the newly built Senju foundation it was beginning to appear as though this was a clan member destined for great things.
Tokugawa would continue along this track of learning; nurtured and spurred by a watchful Bihan, he strove further and further until finally he could not only walk on his own, he could run! He could jump and climb, bound and leap for the skies...though this some times caused a fuss with the neighbors. Hizawa saw his son's durable constitution as a gift from the heavens and the blood flowing through his veins. It was time, he thought, to begin Teaching young Tokugawa the way of the Senju.
One morning on Tokugawa's sixth birthday he'd been called to the family backyard where the views of nature were as scenic and beautiful as mother liberty. "Tokugawa," he'd say. "Today I'm going to put your body to an ultimate test. It is time to find out if you have what it takes to become Shinobi."
And so it was the two Senju conducted what was to be Tokugawa's first training session. True to what his Father had told him, this challenge was like nothing he'd encountered before; breath taking, taxing on every one of his muscles and mentally jarring this was a level of difficulty and intensity never before shown by his Father. Still, even Hizawa noticed that through it all the young Tokugawa grinned harder than he'd ever seen before. Truly, this was a child destined for great things.
Tokugawa would spend the next several years of his life training with his father and learning cultural arts from his mother. These were things that they believed essential to a Senju's core living and would help their son to shape his own set of principles and beliefs in addition to the values instilled in the very place that they were preparing him for. Often his parents would ask Togukawa,"do you have an idea of what you would like to be when you get older?" Usually the answer to this question was a respectable shrug of his shoulders but there were times when no one was looking that Tokugawa himself considered the thought. Generally, he came to surface answers opting to assume the station of his father for his own family but then and all too swiftly, he reached another conclusion.
No matter how hard he worked or wished it to be, Tokugawa was NOT his Father. He could never be the man that his dad was and still is simply because of the fact that they were two different people. He found himself in agreement with his parents, Tokugawa realized; he would have to carve out a legacy for himself, something all his own! That was when he barged into his parents room one day...to their surprise (and they were but that's a story for another time) and told both of them proudly that he would have liked to join the Ninja academy.
"Ma! Pa!" He'd say, "I want to be a ninja!" His mother blushed likely more at the situation than the outburst and his Father laughed a hearty laugh. "That's my son! I'll talk to the instructors tomorrow!"
It wouldn't be long before Tokugawa was officially enrolled and accepted into Konohagakure's school of young candidates formally know as the Ninja academy. This was to be the first step in any ninja's journey into a career as Shinobi and it was rumored that only a handful of applicants actually made the cut. Tokugawa wasn't the least bit deterred and met both his instructors and classmates with eager enthusiasm! It was a bit tricky getting adjusted to learning in a setting full of young kids with various levels of training just like him but the pressure kept him sharp and when it came time to perform Tokugawa often found that the time spent training with his Father had prepared him a great deal (some times a little too well) for some of the events.
As it so happened, Tokugawa was especially skilled with wielding bladed weapons (substituted for bokkan in the Academy for safety) managing to win his demonstration competitions each time that his name had been called to participate. He loved participating in class and didn't seem to mind being a partner to an instructor when it were time to demonstrate certain maneuvers for the class. All in all, he had the time of his life and eventually rose to make the cut being promoted to Genin after several years of study. Now, he waits to be placed on a Team where his journey may continue and he can learn, grow, experience new things and live a life worth speaking about to his family, friends and colleagues.
Personality: Generally speaking, Tokugawa is very strong hearted. He believes in good and doing good but makes no judgement upon others himself. This is perhaps due to his youth and inexperience with life or the fact that for most of his life up until attending the Academy he'd been raised entirely on the Senju teachings alone. For this reason, one can almost call him stubborn in his righteous beliefs as he will not even liter if there is no one there to stop him and keeping hold of the item will boggle down his travel.
On some occasions (usually those spurred by others) he can be shown as having a particularly odd sense of humor. This is displayed when he stumbles across his parents in bed naked with his mother on top of his father, his first thought is "Cat got you down?" before breaking into his intention to join the Hidden Leaf ninja academy.
Roleplay Sample: "If I don't put an end to his fast paced attacks, he'll gain the advantage and I'll lose!" If Takanobu could have spoken these words aloud, he wouldn't. As it were the thought of being surmounted in front of the entire class and having his grade point average slip from the steady A he'd maintained down to B+ was terrifying! How could he live with the shame of having disappointed his family?
No, this wasn't the time to be emotional. Think Tokugawa, Think! As his opponent charged forward preparing for yet another strike at him Tokugawa took in a fresh breath of air and calmed himself; now, it was time to put everything on the line. Tokugawa raised the bokken gripped firmly within both of his outstretched hands just high enough to guard his torso and then slowly brought the weapon closer toward his chest. This act alone gave him more torque in movement; power, both of which he would need to perform the daring feint that he were about to.
As the boy lunged, Tokugawa faked a thrust. Planting down on his lead foot as if to simulate an attempt to run the boy through the neck as they swung downward and as luck would have it, the act must've scared the boy because he hesitated just long enough for Tokugawa to pivot and try for a strike at the youth's exposed back. A complete success!
Thwack! "ACK!" The boy fell feeling as though they'd been struck with several fists over and over and lost hold of their weapon; meanwhile, Tokugawa alone, remained standing. Around him, the gathered crowed was silent. None of them not even the instructor could believe what they had just witnessed. What Tokugawa hadn't realized was that out of 26 participants that made up the class, he'd somehow managed to beat them all. It was to be noted by the instructor this day that one particular Senju showed exceptional capacity in the use of a bladed weapon and if so deemed, should be kept an eye on for future endeavors.
"I really pulled it off," Tokugawa spoke in labored breaths. Hands still gripped tightly to the wooden bokken, he could feel his adrenaline beginning to slip away like sanded time. Cool air brushed against him and the heated blood within calmed as though coaxed by nature's embrace; this was a challenge, he thought, that had been surmounted in the name of Senju honor. His honor. If proving himself capable in body were the goal then certainly now few would question their safety in his presence; true indeed, a new leaf were about to bloom.

History:
- Where to begin?:
- In a time long past yet not forgotten a fierce winter storm raged blotting out the sun for eight days and eight nights. Harsh winds and stinging frosts licked mother Earth biting at anything exposed to the elements. Still, it was to be that a great miracle occur for one family of the forest.
On the 18th of March, in the midst of one of worst blizzards recorded, a child was born. His name? Senju, Tokugawa.
