Well, today would certainly prove to be an interesting day, though Shin would definitely know he’d hate it. Having received the mission scroll before he left his residence, Shin had changed into far more appropriate clothing – clothes he wouldn’t mind throwing away, since he would be throwing them away once today’s work was done. Shin was already dreading the trek down to the sewers and having to spend time down there; the thought of the smell alone had Shin nauseous. What exactly happened that led to there being a clog in the sewer to back up the whole village had Shin curious and not wanting to know the answer at the same time.

“I swear these missions just keep getting more ridiculous… and how the hell does something like this even end up happening? Something that clogs up the whole village? That’s just preposterous.” Shin would say out loud, not expecting an answer in return, though he would welcome one that agreed with him. The dread that loomed over Shin was notable, wishing that today was in fact a dream, but instead was a reality. His eyes looked down at the manhole with disdain, wishing there were actual people in the village who’s job was to deal with such things. “Are we farmers, cleaners, couriers, and plumbers? What’s next, they make me babysit a child? Honestly, probably prefer that over all these other things we’ve done so far.” Shin continued, though made no move to move towards the manhole and head down to the sewers.

Shin would release one of many sighs that he would release today as Katsumi headed down the manhole. Once Shin was sure that Katsumi was out of the way, Shin himself would drop down the manhole, and much like the person who shared his unfortunate fate today, he would also soften his landing by channelling some chakra into his feet. He would make his first instant mistake of taking an involuntary sniff and it reeked. He already knew the clothes he was wearing today would be thrown away, which he very much would vocalize immediately. “The moment we get out of here… I’m bathing for a week and throwing out these clothes.” Shin grumbled as he trailed after Katsumi. The short travel – which felt infinitely longer than short – they would arrive at their destination. Whatever solution there was, Shin would simply want to get this mission done so he could escape this torture. At Katsumi’s prompt at offering to ‘blow up’ the ball of dirt, Shin would simply shrug. “As long as you can just get rid of that clump… and not make this more work for us in the future.” Shin’s immediate agreement was simple out of want to get out of here. Shin would begin making the trek back, slowly, hoping Katsumi would easily get rid of the clump that had them down here in the first place. Leaving it to Katsumi, Shin would wait till the sewer was unclogged and make the trek back to the manhole to escape this hellhole.
