    Ad it up!:

Advertising… all of the work they had done thus far had been boring tasks that just about anyone could do and probably have just as much success as they would. Today was a simple day, much like all the previous days where he and Katsumi had taken on a mission. However, the one main difference that he found between then and now was there was minimal effort really required on his part. Handing out flyers and every other individual a slight rundown on the convenience store; the one that had been robbed, now fixed and ready to resume business, was an easy enough job.

The only part thus far that had Shin tired was repeating himself multiple times when he came across a new individual to give the rundown about. Though, perhaps it wasn’t the most annoying part of the job when he thought about it. Having to do missions with Katsumi tended to grate his nerves, at times. There was only so much of the boy that Shin could handle before he got irritated. Regardless, today Shin had decided he’d mostly ignore Katsumi whenever possible – the less he had to speak with the blonde haired shinobi, the better for Shin.

Repetition was one of the most difficult and yet boring things no matter what the task was. Even beyond that, repetition in advertising for some... run down convenience store? It wouldn't even be until Katsumi arrived at the location and looked at the flyer to notice that it was the one that Shin and himself had cleaned up just the other day. A snide smile would fall over Katsumi's lips as he wondered if it was ironic how involved they had become in an event like that. As for his comrade in this adventure, he seemed more... distant than normal. Maybe it would be a good shift to just work their job apart from each other and stick to the basics, they had been rather animous towards each other lately.

Katsumi would shrug and begin taking some involved steps down the road leading east with a large stack of flyers in his hand, doing his best to strike up a conversation and eye contact with various passersby in order to get their attention and offer his quick 30 second speel about the shop and their products. At first, it would be an adventurous and exciting speech followed by handing out a flyer for every person he saw, children included! But that enthusiasm would quickly dwindle, first with the energy and then with the details until he was passing out a single flyer to each relative 'group' of people. Still, he could be doing actual ninja work and advancing his skills. This was certainly more helpful to the village even though his energy had all but vanished.

There were so many pieces of paper and repetition that Shin could handle in a day. This chore that had been assigned to them – returning to the scene of a previous mission where they had to clean up the convenience store, now returned them to advertise for it. Shin usually could handle such things, but after the various repetitive tasks that they had done thus far, Shin could only handle so much. The usual energy he had to bicker with Katsumi was lacking today, so he chose to work in mostly silence with the only words he spoke being to those whom he handed out flyers too; going on about the usual spiel about their recovery and what they had to offer their customers. Repetition was sometimes welcome, though not when it came to doing what they currently were tasked with.

Walking down the path, he would smile courteously at the various people whom he would speak with; families and young adults as well. Outwardly Shin would mostly appear normal, but as time went on the façade would slowly fade as well. As time wound down and the sun indicated the day was nearing the evening, Shin would head back to the convenience store and see if Katsumi had returned. Regardless, he would have a few flyers remaining in hand that he would return to the owner before signing out and retiring for the day.

If dwindling energy was a symptom of the first half of his adventure to hand out flyers and explain things to people, he would have made that look like an entire parade compared to how far he would have fallen off in the second half. His spiel had fallen off from a lackluster 30 seconds and handing out flyers here and there when people actively accepted them. Notes about their products and doing his best to keep an interested smile to each of them, it would most likely look like a steep drop off from his typical energy to attract customers and keep the business well, in business.

Regardless, he would spend the time necessary to make a dent in his flyers and to go beyond that. Half the stack gone, going through the motions. For an instant, an idea of wandering over to see how Shin was doing had crept up into his mind but was quickly dispelled by the need to continue on and finish the work in front of him. Continuing on in the hours, Katsumi would exhaust three fourths of his stack and continue on as the traffic in the area seemed to die down. A sliver left by the time he was done and he looked around to find no one coming around for nearly a whole five minutes. With a sigh, Katsumi would venture back to the shop to see that Shin wasn't there yet either. Rather than waiting around to see if he showed up, he would pass off his flyers leftover and find out that Shin had left already without him. What a guy, Katsumi would think before thanking the shop owner and heading off on his own to report in their job done and call it a night.
