Kameko was dressed much the same as she had been when she initially left Iwagakure with the rest of her clan, though a bit more exhausted and dirty than she had been. The few members of her clan that stayed behind had managed to distract the village long enough for the rest of the clan to flee. None had slept during the journey, fleeing in haste and taking a slightly more roundabout way to Konohagakure. Already Kameko had cried many times over their deaths, hating that such a price was needed to escape from Iwagakure. She was hoping Masuyo and her little band had made it out while the guards were distracted, but hadn't seen any sign of them on the way to Konohagakure.

That is, until her clan had gotten close to the village itself and picked up its second wind to get to what they hoped was safety. Kameko traveled at the front of her clan's caravan this time, moving on foot rather than on horseback or on one of the wagons they had sealed away to help carry those who couldn't walk the entire way. She reserved her space for an elderly kinsman, much to his thanks. In the distance, the guards at Konohagakure's gates would see Masuyo's little band as well as Kameko's larger one behind them. Kameko's clan would send a small delegation ahead while the majority of the clan remained behind. No need panicking the village with such a large group right off the bat, after all.

The small delegation got to the gates right around the time the guards would be done replying to Masuyo's inquiry ...

(The rest of this will be done with my post on Tsuyo)

Tsuyo ran along the rooftops of the village on her way to the gates. One of the guards had come to the Hokage's Office to get her, inconveniently around the time she was making her temporary Hokage status official. She'd have to go back and wrap that up after whatever was drawing so much attention at the gates. Kazuya was gone and his chosen successor thought either dead or gone rogue. There was nobody else to take the place, as much as she disliked it.

She didn't have her bow and arrows on her person, only a couple pouches containing her small arms. A Konohagakure flak jacket over a sleeveless black shirt covered her torso with relatively tight fitting black pants protecting her legs. She didn't like everything to be skintight all the time like most of the women she saw in the military. On her feet were the common shinobi sandals, clacking across the tiles of homes and businesses along the journey. Her long, black hair was pulled into a tight ponytail with not a single strand loose.

"So two groups were spotted heading for the village, one small and one large. Do they appear hostile," she asked the guard as they made their way to the gates.

"They've borne no outward signs of hostility so far and both groups appear to be coming from the north. Our best guess is the Land of Earth for their origin, though we aren't entirely sure." Tsuyo nodded in affirmation, saying nothing else as the two jonin got to the gates. When they did, the Hyuga clan head would scale down a building and motion for the gates to be opened. She and the guard who had come to get her would exit the gates to approach the smaller group that was closest to them while the other two guards would stay on top of the walls for support.

The apparent leader of the small band would speak up as she got close to the gates. Tsuyo's eyebrows twitched down as her scrutinizing gaze fell upon her. She looked so familiar for some reason, almost as if she had met this woman before somewhere though she was absolutely positive that was not the case. She had never set foot in the Land of Earth, which was indeed where they were from if the leader's attire was any indication. The jonin blinked as a name popped into her head from nowhere, an even more unsettling phenomenon. "Masuyo Kaede," she said, audibly enough that the woman would be able to hear her name be spoken. Why did I know that? This thought was at the forefront of her mind, but the business of these supposed refugees needed to come first. "Lay down your arms, immediately." Once she had complied, Tsuyo would continue as her vision caught sight of a group of people approaching. "Where do all these 'refugees' come from?" As she wrapped her question up, the other group would get to joining the party. From their appearance, all three of them were shinobi. Tsuyo's mouth twitched into a frown. "Are they with you," she asked, directing her attention and the question to Masuyo.

UA being used: Memories From a Dream: Tsuyo has a connection with various others in the world, being carried over from a different time and place (TNRPG). Anybody sharing this trait she will know their name and have a good guess at what they're like, though it will be confusing to her how she knows this. Those whom she shares this connection with may have the exact same reaction to her.

It was no doubt their approach caught the attention from their scouts long before they actually reached the gates. Such effectiveness was something Masuyo could appreciate in Konoha's military. It helped quicken her time at the gates. A large movement of Shinobi responded to their presence, something that was acceptable. Masuyo led a band of refugees at present observation. They must be cautious, as they could easily be disguised Shinobi willing to infiltrate the leaf. Every measure must be taken to ensure the survival of their village. Though, through sensory it would appear Masuyo's statement was genuine. The men, women, and children of the party presented little chakra indicating they were fairly weak. Masuyo was perhaps the only one in the group that had a powerful life force. The Jounin was approached by a woman, one who bore a strikingly similar yet inferior appearance to herself. To top it off, she could recall her face. One that existed in a different lifetime. It sounded ludicrous, but somehow made sense.

As Tsuyo spoke her name it caused the Jounin to turn flush. She was far from famous, and the girl knowing her name more of a teaser. "Tsuyo." Masuyo replied, almost instinctively as those words rolled off her tongue. She did not question her existence, but merely spoke what felt right. "We all come from Iwagakure. Our village has become unstable politically, and civil war has broken out. I am a Jounin, Kameko and Taichi here are Genin and apart of my designated squad. The rest of the party are immediate family and kin. We wanted no part in the civil war for power and acted in best interest for those we are close to. In exchange for accepting these members, we will offer our services as Shinobi to Konohagakure." There was not much else she could offer. If they were turned away, she would simply lead the others to seek another village.

After being away for a couple months Gin was almost showed his excitement to be back in his home land. Just being able to see the horizon was comforting and not having his field of vision cut off by a thick haze. He would pass through the gates after signing off his paper work. The hard part was done. Once getting suited up and taking his pay for completing the first half of his task he would leave the village once again to fulfill his duties.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Gin Akiyama Sun May 06, 2018 1:25 pm

A week after the meeting with Konoha's Council head left Gin prepared physically and mentally for the task at hand. Him along with seven other Chuunin were to embark on a mission to the Land of Lightning to aide with an international threat. As it personally fell, Gin cared less about the troubles in the other lands. However his current loyalty with Konoha opted him to do work in their favor. Early morning just a couple hours after dawn Gin could be seen walking down the main road leading to the primary gates.

As a Chuunin of his village Gin prefers to wear the standard load-out many Shinobi are seen wearing, which is provided by the village's armory. A pair of black combat sandals cover both feet leaving the toes and heel open securing up to his ankles. He wears a pair of common synthetic black pants personally having the bottoms wrapped in white bandage wrap to prevent it dragging or getting snagged. On right his thigh is a blue rectangular holster secured and backed by white tape. Gin wears a black single utility belt tightly secured to his waist. It holds one blue holster on his right side as well as a beige carry pouch around the back side of the belt. His torso is covered by a long sleeve black shirt, the upper sleeves donning the Konoha emblem stitched in red material. Over his shirt is a slate gray colored flak jacket which is zipped up and secure on his body, provided with six scroll holsters across the torso. Choosing to wear a baldric he secures a sheathed Naginata diagonally across his back. On his belt towards the left side he also wore a small tin canteen.

His forehead protector is secured across his forehead, the cloth colored blue and with the steel plating facing forwards showing the Konoha emblem in plain view. Gin is a tall, lean male standing at 6'2 and weighing 175 lbs. He has a broad, moderately toned figure. He has a tan skin tone accompanied with rich hazel eyes and medium length brown hair stopping briefly past midway down his neck and shortly past his forehead. Because of this his forehead protector is partially covered by his hair though not greatly inhibiting identification.

At the gates waited three members of his squad, the Chuunin recognizing their faces from their last meeting. They wore similar outfits to Gin, being the standard issue uniform for all Shinobi. It was effective, flexible in different environments, and the flak jacket provided decent protection. They each had their own modifications to the standard uniform to be unique, but for the most part they were all the same. For instance, the female Izumi who waited at the gate's entrance chose to wear her red forehead protector like a headband keeping her light brown hair in place. Katsu, a male Chuunin who was waiting, preferred a more concealed approach. With a black mask covering the bottom half of his face from his nose and fingerless black gloves with steel plates on the backs he seemed more ready for combat than his female peer. Along with their mostly generic appearances they carried a similar load out, their choosing shuriken, kunai, standard tools and basic explosives over any exotic weaponry. They were simple, yet highly efficient.

"Good day." Gin would greet himself to the stalling Chuunin with a half-enthused wave. He was rather familiar with the various Chuunin in the village. He had been a Chuunin for almost fourteen years and done his fair share of work. It seemed after becoming competent he lost all desire to pursue his goals and fell into the trap of simple pleasures interrupting his career path. He did not mind himself. He was paid well for menial labor. And for moments where he really had to put his life on the line, such as now, he was greatly compensated. Gin would join the other generic Chuunin in loitering at the front entrance. They expected four more to arrive, including their Captain, Kanna, before she was given the order to lead from then on.

At last, the woman makes her approach upon the gates of the village, having changed her attire accordingly. Her hair is left out of a ponytail and relatively messy, with her natural, amber-gaze set ahead of her. In terms of clothing, she wears a high-collared, black shirt with short sleeves beneath the standard Chuunin Flak Jacket, and black, tight-fitting leggings, along with elbow-length finger less gloves beneath her leather armguards. Her hip pouch and holster are secured in proper placement, with various tools stocked away within them accordingly.

Overall, a majority of her clothing is beneath a dark, blueish-grey robe with a bushy gray fur collar; Konoha's symbol emblazoned upon the back. The baggy sleeves of the robe reach her mid-forearms, ending with white hems. It goes down to her ankles, exposing part of the black knee-length boots she chose for footwear. A gray strap runs along the robe diagonally, keeping a dark blue and black large scroll attached to her back. She holds the first mission scroll in one hand, and a kitsune-esque mask in the other, with a crimson band.

Her other, smaller scrolls, including the ones with weapons sealed in them are tucked away in the inner pocket of the robe draped over her form. A brief, idle wave is offered to those of the group that are already there and prepared to get a move on. Kanna remains stoic, hiding some of her concerns about what they were tasked with beneath a calm and collected-looking poker face.

'A-Rank and S-Rank huh.' The ravenous Chuunin muses, waiting for the rest of the team if they weren't already there by now.

As the time passed by Kanna would join them, along with the rest of the designated Chuunin. Gin took note of their Captain's new appearance, a thick overcoat accompanied with a mask. He assumed it was a new concealment she planned to test out. He figured it would be best to know the features of her new outfit for later on. Turning his head Gin conducted a head count to ensure all eight Shinobi were present, including himself. After that he would turn to Kanna. "It appears we're all here. I believe our goal is to make our way to the Land of Lightning. It's your call, Captain Kanna." Gin said getting himself off the side building he was leaning on. Some additional Chuunin in their party tuned in to what Gin was say and passed a gaze towards their captain as they awaited their next order. Gin himself was not entirely familiar with the different ways to approach the Land of Lightning.

He knew they could either go by foot, which would be the longest but most promising method of travel, or by boat which would be the quickest but with the most potential danger. An enemy ship or pirate ship could cause them trouble, and nothing was worse than being stranded in deep waters hundreds of kilometers away from shore. But alas, Gin could go with either. He was well accustomed to either method of travel and had no negative experience with either throughout his lifetime as a Chuunin. Nonetheless he would have to follow the call Kanna made in regards to their method of approaching the situation.

Her internal concerns and thoughts are slowly alleviated by the full arrival of their team. Upon giving a good rundown on who was present, Kanna offers an acknowledging nod in regard to Gin's statement. "Then let's move." She states without delay, and beckons them along. The woman brings the band of the mask to her mouth, biting down upon it so that the face-covering accessory hangs down by her teeth, as she opens the robe with one hand, and tucks the mission scroll away with the other.

She waits until they're a decent distance away from the gate to disclose what their first task was. By then, Kanna is already pulling her mask into place, letting it conceal her facial features. "Our purpose for now is to get to our destination. We've already assembled our necessary team, so all there is to it now is knowing what each member is capable of." She remarks, pausing for a moment in her speech.

A single scroll is retrieved from the innards of her robe, followed by a pencil, tucking the pencil into the scroll. From there, she turns around, establishing eye contact with one of the members of the group as she walks backwards, tossing the scroll to them shortly after, with the pencil tucked in it. "Write your name and your areas of specialty, if you have more than one. Then pass the scroll to someone that hasn't gotten it yet. When it's cycled through all of you, return it to me." She instructs.

"Idealistically, we'll have one specialist for each field of necessity; Ninjutsu, Bukijutsu, Fuuinjutsu, Iijutsu, Sensory, Kuchiyose and Kyujutsu. Based on what each of you are proficient at, once we're further from the village itself we'll discuss a new team formation according to what each of you are best at. And consider the division of supplies, as well as method of travel."

    (attempted exit)

Post by Gin Akiyama Thu May 10, 2018 4:23 pm

Gin listened to what Kanna had to say, partially zoning her out. It was a very basic procedure done by every new Captain or squad leader commanding new people. Especially if they were inexperienced and had no worked with any of the people in their squad before. A scroll was passed around and eventually in Gin's possession. He briefly read the other's abilities getting a general grasp of what his team was capable of as well. As it seemed, most of them were quite average with a few negligible differences. They focused on the most essential ninja arts and possessed the most common element in the Land of Fire which, you guessed it, was Fire. They also decided to write down their physical capabilities such as their sprint speed, max lifts, precision, etc. They were all basic tests done in the Academy when training students to track progress. It was always good to return to get a physical test done when older to get an rough understanding of what you're capable of, as well as to give someone an actual statistic of what you can do.

The strengths and weaknesses served vital to know and can mean the different between life and death of a squad. Knowing who to put where for maximum efficiency was the captain's job, but letting the captain know of their talents was all on the user. Gin wrote down his abilities at the bottom of the scroll, the majority of the scroll already used up by the previous squad members. He recorded his elements, skills, and his own physical records. His was the only one that seemed the most unique out of the others, whether that was good or bad. He would close the small scroll and hand it back to Kanna. That contents of the scroll would read:

    NPC:

    Gin:

Kanna continued to speak, bringing up idea situations. It would appear they would lack an Ijutsu specialist and a sensor. Gin felt even a Genjutsu user would also be appealing to have along. Nonetheless they had to make the best of their team. Kanna was intent on moving out now, and Gin couldn't agree more. They were killing daylight by having a discussion at the village gates where they could at least start hiking down the main road before branching off. The adventure would begin as the squad would exit the village gates and begin heading towards their destination.

The weather was always favorable in the Fire Country. Satomi Uchiha was making his way towards the Northwestern Gate. After his meeting with the Council, they were given a A rank mission which would lead him to the Village Hidden in the Mist. There was many things he wanted to learn about the Mist village. Most notable the Seven Swordsman. Their weapons were of legendary stories, but he was aware that legends walk among them.

The gate was only a few meters ahead of him when he stopped and patted himself down. He had his weapon scroll and all the items he needed for the trip. Ayeno would be his partner on the trip. Sato had been sure she was the real deal if the Council and the Hokage had chosen her specifically. Neverminding where she came from, she was entrusted with this mission along with him. Time to make the trip to the Water Country.

Akeno was prepared on a trip for at least a couple of weeks. Akeno took her bag along with her two small scrolls in their designated slots on her flak jacket. Her bag consisted of a couple sets of different clothes to change out of. It also contained Akeno’s sealing materials in case she ever needs them. Akeno highly doubts that she’ll be using them, but a shinobi can never be too careful. Her dark, wavy long hair however is half tied up and half falls down to her back. Akeno’s bangs were braided together around her head to form somewhat like a circlet out of it as her dark locks sway with the wind.

    Spoiler:

The jounin wasn’t exactly in a hurry for she was actually a little bit early than the designated time. Around her neck is a leather cord with a wooden pendant centered at her chest. The pendant possess a soft, warm orange glow that seems to reflect the sun’s light in a way as the phoenix design wraps its fiery tails around the object. Akeno approaches the gates with practically nothing but the clothes on her person and the bag. Of course she still has two scrolls at the upper left of her torso. Still there really isn’t a sign of a weapon on her strangely enough. So when Akeno sees her partner for their mission, Satomi Uchiha, just ahead of herself. Seems like she was not the only one to try and making it early.

“Now if all men i knew could arrive early when told i wouldn’t be surprised.” Akeno spoke to Satomi with a hint of her smile as she approached. She metaphorically was saying that she was surprised Satomi was arriving early than they agreed on. Not that Akeno is complaining of course. “I managed to complete the thing i wanted to get. If anything it’ll be a backup in case things don’t go in our favor.” Akeno reached up to lift the phoenix talisman for Satomi to see. Though she does not remove it from her neck nor wishes to depart from it. “If we make this mission successful i promise that I’ll get you something nice too.”

    [exit for Kirigakure]

Masuyo would wait patiently near the village main gates. She still found it quite odd how the village had three different entrances. To her it seemed like more work to have sentries active, as each gate was a weakness to the wall itself. The other gates were used for emergencies, which was understandable in the case of evacuation. The walls were a daunting thirty meters in height. A fall from that height was tolerable for a conditioned Shinobi such as herself, though it made one a wide open target.

Shortly after dawn, which would approximate to five thirty in the morning, Masuyo would await at the front gates. She was alert, and ready to go on her day as usual. Her footwear consisted of standard black sandals fitted for comfort and security. With the toes and heel left exposed they provided additional balance, while the rest of the foot up to the ankle was protected by the thick nylon material of the sandal. The soles of the sandals are reinforced with hardened material to resist heavy impacts and weathering. She wore a pair of loose fitting black pants with the bottoms near her ankles taped securely in white bandage wrap. This provided balance and reinforcement to her ankles while closing off the ends of her pants. In addition, more bandage wrap was wrapped around her right thigh which allowed a navy blue holster to be strapped over comfortably. Around her waist she wears the basic utility belt which carries two green holsters on her right side along with a tool pouch around her back side and a canteen to the far left.

A black mesh shirt is worn under a common long sleeve black top having a red seal of fire placed on the outsides of each sleeve towards the upper arm. Over that was a fitted green flak jacket provided by Konoha's armory. The jacket was zipped up and secure firmly on her body. Worn on both arms were a pair of custom crafted arm guards gifted to Masuyo. The banded steel design covered the backs of her hands to her elbows leaving a soft spot of leather to allow wrist movement. Around her neck Masuyo wears her forehead protector as a collar. The black cloth is tied in a knot around the back side of her neck with the steel plate facing the front for identification. The steel plate has Konoha's emblem engraved on the front. Masuyo has straight black hair which extends down to her mid back. Two strands of hair drop down touching her chest which leads into her bangs, those being cut shorter and swept to the side. She stands at 5'9 weighing approximately 145 lbs. Her fair skin is complimented with her voluptuous form which is completed with a pair of hazel eyes.

She was ready to perform her "inspection" of her Genin's gear before departing. She knew just what to look for in each of them, more notably Rin and Sera. Their gross unpreparedness was an issue. In the meantime the Chuunin would casually wait by the gates, her posture leaning against the large wooden gate. She would expect the same punctuality out of her Genin when they first met.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Tatsuya Thu Jul 05, 2018 6:40 pm

Today was mission day and Rin was more than prepared for it. The night before Rin asked one of his younger cousins and his mother if they could watch over Andorra while he’s away. The kid made sure to get plenty of rest and eat his breakfast which contained a ramen cup that was chili flavored with some clean water. Additionally feeding his puppy ahead of time and making sure she had water in her bowl. Rin was honestly used to waking up before dawn since it was a time where hardly any of his kin was awake and Rin can move around the compound uninterrupted.

Rin’s warm black hair appears to have extend to his shoulders, but he seems to take care of it as he combs it through before tying majority of it into a small low tail. Leaving only his bangs to frame his face. On his person is a mesh shirt under a short sleeved grey shirt. Layered on top of these two shirts is a brown leather vest that Rin tightens by the strings and tucks the ends securely from sight. On his forearms is a pair of steel guards that protects from his elbow to the back of his hand. Strapped onto the right arm that seems to meld with his guard is a mechanism with a kunai already loaded inside the chamber. His legs is covered by a pair of black slacks that has a dark blue holster on each leg. Each contains a single kunai and the holsters are held by white cloth tied around his thighs. The ends of his pants are tucked underneath a pair of brown leather shin guards that offers protection below the knees to his ankles. On his feet is a pair of open-toed sandals.

Clipping the utility belt around his waist, Rin actually removes one of his wakizashi to adjust the belt holster to the left side of his hip. There Rin places his katana into the vacant holster and simply tucks the second wakizashi into his bag. On his left rear of the belt is a hip pouch that contains the rest of his tools. As part of his final check shortly before five in the morning. Rin checked every strap and holster to make sure everything was secured. Additionally he double checked his medikit is in his bag before he slings the bag onto his shoulder.

His throat felt a bit dry, so he drank some more water before heading out of the house. On the way to the gates Rin began to notice the little things such as a spider weaving its nest on one corner of the roof. Normally these things wouldn’t draw Rin’s attention unless he was actively paying attention. It wasn’t just that either for he could see many things in good detail from a good distance, and his hearing picks up the sounds of grass slightly rubbing against each other and the soft purrs of stray cats a couple of meters away. It was weird for Rin, but he kept walking until he sees a familiar face at the gates.. By familiar face Rin recognizes that person to be Masuyo, and Rin makes his way over to his sensei before raising his hand to greet her. The boy opened his lips as he was trying to say good morning Masuyo-sensei. However he could only mouth the words as he could not get any words out of his lips. Only air and it confused Rin as he placed a hand on his throat.

It didn’t take Rin a moment longer before he realized what was going on. ’Oh come on! Of all times to be going through puberty it has to be today!’ Rin thought to himself clearly a bit frustrated about the fact he lost his voice. So the boy points at his throat before mustering any sort of vocal cords to work just this once towards Masuyo. However it was still a bit quiet even with his heightened hearing. “...ost.” He cleared his throat and tried again. Unfortunately nothing can be heard except for air now. Plus his throat feels a bit scratchy, so he ends it with a sigh of defeat before waving once more in greeting towards Masuyo.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Sera O'Tem Thu Jul 05, 2018 7:40 pm

Sera awoke with her alarm its buzzed out at 4am  constant Static noise filled her room as she looked around for a moment  her eyes still semi closed, Taking a deep breath, she looked at the floor whee her book had fallen out of her hands last night,  she figured she would have finished the chapter and go to sleep but  sleep seemed to have other plans,   but either way with her preparations already taken care of she would  swing her sheets around herself  and tie them off in a lose knot and wandered over to the kettle  flicked the burner on and placed the kettle on the stove. There would be enough for her tea and Oatmeal.

Oatmeal being her choice breakfast on Training days and mission provided the Subsistence that was required,  though it was heavy it burned off fast, and left her with energy to spare,  that combined with her hot bath and stretching the night before made her feel, loose and limber. She would  toss her sheet at her bed and go into the bathroom to get changed into more Mission like Attire.   Emerging with her Teeth brushed, hair combed and face washed she would  pack  those last few items into her backpack.  Where she would double check  she had a few canes of extra food encase they didn’t have plans for the meals,  it wasn’t something that had come up and Sera didn’t really have any idea what they were going to undertake other then it was a Higher Ranked mission then she had ever even thought to attempt, but if Masuyo thought they could handle it then she would put her trust in her teacher.
    Outfit:

Sera would take the kettle off the burner and  pour the hot water into a cut and her bowl of oatmeal.  Then refill it with cold water flick the burner off and place the kettle on another burner of her two burner stove.

Having eaten  and have gotten dressed she would go over a checklist she had written out the night before,

~Attire, Tools, Nodachi, Backpack, proper footwear,  emergency cloths, and a bed roll.   Seems good” She would hum out to herself quietly, before long she started doing a small Stretching Routine and then Equipped her Sedbon Launcher to her right wrist, then tied her headband on her neck so there wasn’t a lot of slack but not tight enough that it would choke her,  also in a way the knot would slide off if pulled on.  she didn’t want to be strangled by her own headband.

She would then place a Kunai in her holster and then load her sedbons into the launcher where they held securely and out of the danger the rest of her gear went into the pouch’s and belt loops on her outfit, she already felt more ready then she had ever been before.  Taking time to stop and look in the mirror she would look at her mesh screening holding herself in place and wonder if it was to revealing. She wouldn’t have time to adjust it thought she dismissed the thought and moved to a kitchen chair where she placed Shin guards and her Cuisse on.  that would hide her legs a bit. She should really invest in something to  cover her chest better though next time.

Moving to the front door she would put the strap of her Nodachi over her shoulder and create a seatbelt effect and then move to place her backpack on.   she would head out the door and adjust the strap of her Sword so it didn’t dig into her cleavage and moved towards the location Masuyo told them to meet at.

Moving down the street towards the gate she felt her heart pumping faster as approached maybe she wasn’t as ready as she thought before.  Had she forgotten anything?  What was she suppose to do if she did,  did Masuyo have extras if she did miss something.  Had she missed anything on her list?  The flood of Questions came without answer as she quickly found herself on a few feet away from Masuyo, she which then snapped back into reality and realized where she now was.  Bowing her head she would Greet Masuyo with a “ Good morning Sensei Masuyo”   short simple and sweet, and sera was satisfied, taking a second to glance she would realize that Rin had beat her there so she would nod to Rin and give a half hearted wave and a smile.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Taichi Kotōshura Thu Jul 05, 2018 8:45 pm

One thing Taichi definitely did the day before this upcoming mission is to get a new outfit, during the early stages of the training the girls from the squad he's working with gave him shit for it and he wasn't happy about it, he knew the outfit was awkward and to let down his grandpa easily, he just said that the green jumpsuit was just too skin tight and restricted his ability in fighting physically. He took the liberty of spending the day before the mission to not only get a new outfit, but get some new armour and restock on the tools he had lost during the training. He was happy with his choices and especially the new outfit he had gotten.

On that day, he returned back home early and spent rest of the day either messing around or just napping, he's definitely going to need it knowing how early he'd have to get up, as much as he'd regret it he told his grandpa to wake him up at least 4 AM in the morning. His grandpa was always an early bird, so he could rely on him to do it.

Soon enough, the time of the day had passed and Taichi was already fast asleep, but it felt like just mere minutes when he already awoken at 4 AM in the morning, even though he realistically slept for a few hours, perception of time sure is messy when it comes to sleeping. Regardless, he started to slap on his new outfit and the new leather armour he had purchased yesterday.

Taichi now wears a brand new beige-coloured shirt with it's bright colour being blocked out by the leather equipment Taichi is wearing which consists of a leather vest, spaulders and arm guards. The visible parts of his shirts are the very bottom linings of the beige shirt and the front and side of the shirts arm sleeves. The waist has a light belt which is keeping the tucked in bottom of the shirt into Taichi's long black pants, the hip pouch is connected nicely to the back of Taichi's light belt, which carries all his ninja tools.

With the footwear, Taichi is wearing black ninja sandals which gives some space between the black pants, exposing some skin at Taichi's lower legs. He also has several holsters, a left leg one containing one kunai, his right leg holster carrying ten shuriken and his waist holster also carrying another 10 shuriken. Taichi also wears his forehead protector around the neck.

It took him a while to fit everything together into his outfit but it was finally done, and started to rush straight out of the house towards the gates, though realising he'd make it just right about on time if he kept a normal walking pace. If the others were to see Taichi they would clearly see dark bags underneath his eyes as if he's worn out, probably as a result of his sleep cycle being disrupted. When he finally did make it at the gates, he greeted his teammates. "Hey Rin, Sensei and-" he paused for a few minutes when he saw Sera's outfit. What the hell is that cleavage though? "Damn, are we going to a mission or a brothel?"

Well, he's definitely going to be distracted this mission if Sera planned to wear that, and she criticised him for wearing that green jumpsuit in the training? he got the feeling though that if he showed any pervy side of him, the women of this squad aren't going to take it very lightly, especially Masuyo. He's sure that she has out for him with the way he's insulted her in the training previously, he's surprised he hasn't been punished by that yet... anyway! he's ready to get this mission on the road.

Post by Rin Matoi Fri Jul 06, 2018 5:59 am

Rin was the first to arrive, making his presence rather clear. She was glad to see him follow her directions and take on a standard load-out, as well as finding a taste of some armor. He chose a generic leather vest which functioned much like the standard issue flak jacket she, and any higher status Shinobi wore. The vest was a dark gray and was relatively featureless. It was armor worn by many mercenaries for the reason stated above. Seeing as most of the body's vitals were in the torso, it was a wise choice. However, his glory would be short-lived, as he opened his mouth and his throat harshly whining as he attempted to muster up basic vocabulary like a retarded seal. Masuyo would simply turn her head the other direction attempting to not acknowledge the boy trying to disassociate herself with his faux pas, the sentries in the checkout box snickering at the boy's failure. Following the boy was the buxom Kunoichi. She was shining in a skin of steel...at least up to her waist. She was well-equip with the basic tools and her primary blade much like Rin. Her choice of armor was less than savory, however.

Masuyo had no problem with steel, though reserved carrying too much unless she was heading into battle. She was relatively new experience-wise, so she let it pass. Masuyo simply grinned lightly. I generally prefer heavy armor myself, though given enough hours hiking in the sun, wading through water, and moving about humid jungle, I feel you would change your mind...but we all learn on our own. This was ignoring the obvious fact that she did not consider covering her upper body, where injury was most likely. Perhaps she was being too nitpicky. She did not expect everyone to be a nut about weapons and armor as she was, and know statistics about war. For now, she would not pay much attention.

Sera would greet Masuyo respectfully, the Chuunin nodding her head acknowledging her presence. Given a short moment Taichi would arrive, his outfit being the first refresher she would realize. Of course, he had to make himself heard. His greeting was standard until his hormones kicked in and acknowledged Sera. Masuyo's eyebrows furrowed as an open hand made quick movement to the back of his head. It was with enough finesse to make an audible CRACK as the black leather from her fingerless gloves made swift contact with the boy's head delivering sharp, concussive pain with the tenacity to temporary deafen him with subtle ringing. She would be standing upright now, no longer leaning against the gate, with her arms folded in an authoritarian posture. "Hush. That's no way to speak to your superior."

She would let her words steep in for a second before continuing. "That's right. As a squad, you are all assigned roles. Your seniority is determined by your overall usefulness, maturity, and charisma. Sera is squad leader when I'm not around. Next is Taichi, and then Rin. You will respect your senior, and tend to their requests. We can discuss battle roles later, but for now we must get going. Our destination is Tanzaku Town, one of the major villages located East from here. Before we depart, I need an inventory check. Not necessarily tools, but what did you pack in your backpack. Your tools are important, and I trust you all followed my orders with my list. However, when it comes to war or missions, the top casualty military personnel face is not combat. People mistakenly believe the most damage comes from a spear or sword, but no. Famine, dehydration, disease, poison, infections, the elements. These are your number one killers, because men of war do not consider these things. They take their spear and armor into the field with only war on their minds. They fight, they live, and then are tasked with living in the wilderness for months. Certainly, they don't last long. Now, Sera, you first. What do you have in your backpack?"

Sera would stay quiet when Taichi greeted them all, she wasn’t entirely sure if the comment was directed at her, or if he was just running his mouth off again. . .  he really did seem to like being beat by Masuyo, enough that he didn’t seem to learn, but what was more refreshing was that Masuyo had a no Bullshit attitude when departing on a mission, which meant it was one less thing Sera would have to deal with.  Either way it was Nice that Masuyo would defend her if that was the case.

Sera would listen after hearing a snap of the black gloves on Taichi, her attention now fully on her Sensei as she awaited further instruction, seeing as they were all there.   Upon listening to Masuyo she found out she was appointed team leader, which came to a bit of a surprise, one that Sera couldn’t quite hide, her eyebrows raised slightly as she listened having thought Taichi ( though simple and stupid at times) was a far better shinobi then her, and figured that there was some history with them that would make Masuyo Trust him more.  But maybe the fact she knew him before their training session was the reason Sera was appointed Lead hand.

Listening still attentively she mentally went over the key points of them mission in her head tried to figure out what being Squad leader would entail, and perhaps more importantly if Masuyo was going to frequently abandon them on a B Ranked mission, thought made the hair on her neck raise, and a child run down her spine.

Upon being Instructed to show what was in her bag she would swing her bag down off her shoulder the Weight of the Navy blue bag. Its wasn’t the largest bag, but it was the most suited bag she had for the mission.   Undoing the metal clasp on the front she would flip the bag open and start shifting things around so she could show it to Masuyo.

“  I have a change of clothes in case,   I have 3 cans of vegetables ( with can opener), and a small bag of rice, Extra pair of Socks and  toiletries and at the very bottom a small pot to cook in if we have the chance to stop.  That’s about all I could fit in the main part"  she would say closing the top pouch and then going to the side pouch where she stored her Bandages. “I have bandages, a few extra cloths.  And then strapped to the side is a waterskin., and underneath strapped to the bottom is my bed roll" she would say pointing out the off coloured Straps that was just sown on, as if she needed to add it in last minute

After the inspection of her backpack she would look back up to Masuyo and make sure she was mad about anything thought Sera was almost certain there would be something that would be said about her packing.   It seemed almost to heavy for a trip  but Sera didn’t know too much about what she was preparing for and that was a challenge,  that and how quickly money seemed to disappear when she went to get the items required for the basic Kunoichi

For a few seconds, Taichi's face had a stupefied expression from the sudden whack that landed on the back of his head from Masuyo's quick, yet strengthy slap. It was like his brain had just stop functioning for a split second. Of course, if he said anything in retaliation to what Masuyo had just done, or kept on his comments about what Sera's wearing then he'd probably get a more severe punishment. He was bitter, but he did shut up.

And what? he listened to the order of "seniority" and got placed behind Sera, she's nice and all but as a ninja currently? no... then again, they were faring against a Jounin and she's still a recent Genin probabl- wait no, that would go against the reason for her to become leader! Taichi had finally gotten the hint, believing that Masuyo's got some grudge against Taichi for the words he said against Masuyo back in the training, it looks like he did get to her eh? so much that Taichi had to be placed in second place for squad leader. He'll play ball for now, there's no need to be a lemon about this currently.

Taichi expressed the "Oh crap" expression as soon as Masuyo mentioned about bringing supplies to the mission. He's got all the ninja tools and armour ready but he had forgotten to bring along his backpack. He honestly imagined this would be one of those shorter missions similarly he did with Masuyo a while bac- Oh wait... he ACTUALLY brought his backpack for that one, he can't hide behind an excuse for this one.

When it was Taichi's turn, oh man... he knew he was screwed from the get go. "Ahh... haha... I may have forgotten it, I wasn't thinking this would be a long-term mission." he pretty much brought out the reason as to why Masuyo picked Sera over Taichi for seniority. "But if you'll allow me too... I could run back and grab my backpack." he's pretty sure the answers going to be no on that one, but it didn't hurt to try.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Tatsuya Sat Jul 07, 2018 8:58 am

Rin didn’t know what was worse. The fact that Masuyo basically turned her head away from him or the sentry guards at the gates snickering. Which Rin definitely heard as for a moment he turned his head towards their direction with a rather aggravated look on his face. ‘Oh shut the hell up over there.’ Rin thought as he didn’t dare to speak again. Regardless Rin’s shoulders lost the tension with a sigh coming from the boy’s lips.

Rin heard steps approaching from behind as he turned his head over his shoulder. To be honest the steps was really loud to the boy’s hearing, but in reality Sera was stepping pretty light. The first thing Rin looked at was Sera’s green like jade eyes. Of course Rin did raise his hand in greeting to his teammate and soon to be the squad’s second-in-command. However there was a moment where Rin paused when he notices the outfit Sera was wearing. His cheeks grew red as heat built up around them, but Rin went back to how things should be.

A few minutes later Taichi joined them as well garbed in a different attire this time. One thing Rin noticed was that Taichi lacked a bag. Silently Rin was looking at Taichi before gesturing to his own bag then points at Taichi. Pretty much asking in silence “Where is your bag?” However the next turn of events as soon as Taichi arrived proved that nobody was paying attention to Rin. One, Taichi made what most ladies would consider a vulgar question which Rin was silently shaking his head trying to get Taichi to be quiet. Of course that earned Taichi a hard smack on his head from their beloved Masuyo.

When it was time, Masuyo began a brief explanation about Tanzaku Town and followed up with who would be in charge if Masuyo is not present. Despite what Taichi might have felt about the setup, Rin was glad not being a leader for anything. Especially right now, and with him not having to lead Rin can virtually do whatever the hell he wants. The catch is that he’s basically the team’s terrible mascot and has to take orders from everybody in the squad. Which is fine since Rin has faith that none of his superiors would abuse their influence and get him to do everything. Rin just didn’t want to lead a team even if his throat didn’t act up.

Then Masuyo started to talk about how often people gear up for war and neglect the other necessities. Rin was quick to guess where it was going, but that was also where Rin realized that he forgot his noodle cups on the kitchen counter along with his canteen. ‘Well i already know i am going to fail this test.’ By the time Masuyo started with Sera the boy already slung his bag from his shoulder and let it fall before his feet. Hands placed on his hip, Rin looked a bit impatient since he already knows what Masuyo is going to say. He’s mainly frustrated with himself, and the best part about him losing his voice is that Rin doesn’t have to worry about saying anything.

It seemed that Taichi would probably fail the test too since he didn’t even bring his bag apparently. Still Rin is listening if Masuyo says anything about Taichi going back to grab his stuff. For if Taichi is allowed to go back then Rin could maybe? Not like Rin can really say anything so that might be a bit hard to express body language wise. When it came to Rin’s turn, he simply opened his bag for Masuyo to see the fully stocked medikit, his other wakizashi was on top as it was held by the straps, his single fuuma shuriken that is collapsed, two explosive tags, two smoke bombs, and three chili pepper bombs. The boy has been looking defeated since he realized his voice was gone. Now however Rin feels like he failed in more ways than five so least to say he doesn’t feel confident in himself.

Sera was the first for inspection. She opened her bag and named off the various items she packed. She managed to figure out how to pack to survive, although it was not the most effective way to go about it. Still, she passed. "Good job. It appears you know how to take care of yourself, which is more surprising than you think. My only complaint is the effectiveness of what you packed. Tin cans are usually a no-no. They're bulky and weigh too much. This contributes into the next issue, being that you really only have enough food for three days max, assuming you eat once a day. The lack of protein is also an issue, but nonetheless you will survive. Congrats! You get a 'C' for your grade." Taichi was next in line for inspection. It seemed he failed to even bring his backpack. Masuyo placed both hands on her hips, eyes furious. "You're really digging your own grave right now. Hurry up before we leave you." She said, dismissing the blonde to get his act straight.

Masuyo had no idea what had gotten into the boy. He seemed rebellious, more-so than before. Being verbally open and refusing to take matters seriously was disrespectful. When Rin opened his backpack, to her surprise, he found all of his tools in there and nothing regarding survival. "What is this? Why are your tools in your backpack and not on your belt? No clothes? No food? No water? Go back home and pack just like Taichi. You both failed." She dismissed Rin, allowing the two flunkies to restock their luggage. It was merely half past five and she was losing patience with the Genin. Sera was the only one who managed to follow directions. It gave Masuyo a large amount of respect for the Kunoichi and given her the most hopes. As Rin and Taichi would leave, Masuyo would sling her backpack off her shoulders and smile.

"While those dummies get their bag straight, I am going to show you what I carry. Feel free to consider what I have and add to your own luggage in the future." Taking a knee she opened her bag as she pulled out the items she carried. Her bag was neatly organized occupying all available space. "Carry what you can without sacrificing comfort. I have: dried cured beef sausage, hardtack, a sack of trail mix, dried fruit and vegetables, dried mushrooms, peanut butter, grape preserves, and assorted chocolates." She said, pulling out her last item which was a four inch by four inch cube of wrapped parchment. Opening the top exposed small pieces of white, milk, and dark chocolate stacked neatly together. She would close this and place it with the rest of her prepared foods. "It's good to pack food that's readily available. We may not have the opportunity to start a fire, or stop and eat. In your case you should be able to open a can of vegetables if needed, though that's poor in energy and not as tasty."

"That's easily twenty days worth of ready food, and it barely takes up the bottom half of my bag. I also have a small bag of rice, lard to cook with, a cast iron pan, a dutch oven, clothes, hygiene, and whisky." She said, revealing a bottle of booze from her bag. "Drinking may or may not be your thing, but when you're playing the survival game, alcohol is just another way of preserving things. And your body does know how to make alcohol into calories. Now I'm not saying you should get hammered every time you're in the wilderness. This bottle is easily twenty-five hundred calories. It's just another way to keep your weight up and keep your body going. Diversify your food." Alcohol has been around for just about the beginning of human civilization. Beer, mead, whisky, wine. They all had their purpose other than getting drunk.

"So overall I have a month of food in my bag. This is good when you're traveling, and your rations should only be used in the most dire circumstances. You will learn how to forage with me given the opportunity. I wouldn't waste your rations in a lush environment, then when you find yourself in an unforgiving environment to not have any food source. But that's the gist of it. Go for easy and convenient. You will thank yourself later." She worked to put her belongings back into her backpack before the other two would arrive back from their house. She did not expect them to be experts, but at the very least Sera put effort in her work and used common sense.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Tatsuya Mon Jul 09, 2018 10:08 am

It was as Rin expected so Masuyo questioning all of the things that was wrong did not surprise him. It certainly would look like he was a kid that is letting the words go in one ear and out through the other ear. Hearing what Sera put into her bag, Rin had a general idea of what he was truly lacking. Most would say he lacks common sense which probably isn’t wrong, but what he truly lacks is the drive to take care of himself. This drive is what Rin realizes, and Rin hopes he could remedy that drive. Of course the fact that he failed not once, not twice, but three times now is not helping his confidence. Once from the squad training from before, second time is a few seconds ago, and the third time Rin failed himself.

Rin would quietly pick up his bag after closing the lid, and while he heard Masuyo loud and clear about why some of his tools are inside of his bag. If Rin could respond he would, but for now he settles with just the silence bestowed onto his vocal cords and not say anything. The truth of the matter is weight. The fuuma shuriken especially weighs about as much as his wakizashi. As for the tags and bombs Rin decided to be a bit conservative. Mostly because Rin doubts he will need to use all of his tools especially he hardly uses them in the first place. Also did Rin ever mention how much of a terrible shot he was? If Masuyo read his profile then she should’ve seen that his accuracy with tools barely got to passing grade.

Now Rin can go back to his normal comfort zone. The zone where nobody notices him or bats an eye at him as Rin makes his way through the market street. Thankfully the stores just opened officially, so Rin took some time out of his way to purchase two small bags of dried fruit. Then seeing what is equivalent to jerky, Rin purchases three slabs of dried meat and even got that wrapped in the thin cloth meant to preserve food. It might not be much and mainly as a treat to himself. But Rin also purchases a small bag of roasted almonds coated in cinnamon. Opening his bag after the purchase was done, Rin would make sure to put his tools on one side of the bag to allow room for the three large slabs of jerky at the bottom with the two bags of dried fruit on top of it.

The boy took a couple of the cinnamon crusted almonds out of the bag before putting it up as well. Eating one at a time, Rin would just reach the Uchiha compound as he finished eating the second almond that was in his hand. The main problem? There is a reason Rin is usually up and about around four in the morning and leaves shortly after five at max. Sitting on the steps in front of the opened door is a boy of 13 who stands at about five foot six with a lithe build. Garbed in the average Genin outfit and armed like one as well. This cheeky dick-waffle as Rin personally calls him is Xue Uchiha, and the main one who often picked on Rin in an aggressive manner. Xue was just putting on his sandals when Rin came around the corner and while it took Xue a moment to register a toothy grin spreads on his lips.

“Well well, if it isn’t duck beating poop sucker. Haven’t really seen your face around here lately. You been avoiding me?” Rin didn’t have time for this and his patience was already thinned as it was. So Rin just walked past Xue without answering, and that certainly didn’t sit well with Xue as he kicks off his sandals to follow Rin inside of the compound. “Oh come on, it was a joke. Look i heard you trained under the head of the Hyuga family, and i just want to know how badly she pummeled you to the ground.” Rin remembers the heel drop Tsuyo landed on his chest, so pretty hard actually. Of course with his ‘gift’ that pain intake increased two-fold at least.

Rin continued to remain silent as he walks into the kitchen where his cups of noodles should be located. However they were gone leaving only his chopsticks on the counter. “Oh yeah, were those noodles yours by any chance? Yeah me and my friends helped ourselves with those. Thanks for the food, and i think Zing has your canteen. She might be still changing though so…” Xue kept getting cut off as Rin grabbed his chopsticks and even inspected them to make sure they weren’t sabotaged. Not that you could really damage a set of senju wooden chopsticks that was well decorated, but Rin got them from his mother as a birthday gift two years ago. To any outsider’s perspective it would seem like Xue is kind of being helpful, but also a jerk. In truth of Rin’s perspective Xue is still half-awake because otherwise Xue wouldn’t be following Rin around like a puppy.

Rin knew where Zing’s room was located, and as Rin was about to step out of the kitchen a tiny glint of metal caught his eye that was at throat level. Without slowing or stopping, Rin drew out his kunai from the left holster while his right hand went to grab around it. Sure enough it was steel wire, and flowing chakra through his kunai Rin easily cut through the wire with very little resistance. Xue saw the extended flow of chakra through the kunai, and for a moment Xue was surprised that Rin even saw the wire to begin with. So Rin walked down the hallway while Xue stayed behind to quickly grab something that was anchoring the wire. Putting the kunai back in its holster, Rin made a couple of turns through the compound before stopping in front of the door. As much as Rin wanted to bust in Zing’s room and take his canteen back; he knows Zing enough that she is really not as bad as Xue.

So Rin knocked twice on the door and waited for a response. “One second.” A familiar voice called out from behind the door, and so Rin waited though his patience was definitely being tested. Rin’s ears picked up the sound of metal sliding out of its holster coming from the direction he just came, and something told him to just take a step back so he did. Sure enough the second he did Rin’s keen eyes witnessed a kunai flying straight and true right where he was just standing. However if there was any rule in this house is no indoor fighting because of damage on the property. So Rin just reached up as the kunai was passing through, and then closed his fingers around the handle. The force still made his arm jerk to the side, but otherwise Rin caught the kunai from the air.

The moment Rin heard the click of the door opening up, Rin put his hand holding the kunai behind him. Revealing what is behind the door is Zing with her black hair that looked smooth as silk. Her eyes were like looking at a pair of onyx, but Rin didn’t have to say anything before Zing realized what he was here for. “Hold on i got something for you.” She left the door open which allows Rin to see her room. It was simple and spacious that held basic necessities for sleeping and storing clothes. On her futon is Rin’s canteen which Zing grabs and walks back. As she hands over the canteen, Zing whispers in a low voice. “Pour this out before you leave…” Rin didn’t doubt Zing for they probably poisoned the water. It was still full too, and normally they would either drink it all or pour it out themselves. Poison was honestly not above or below them either, but at least Zing told him to pour it out instead of finding out the hard way.

Rin silently thanked Zing before walking back towards the kitchen. Sure enough around the corner Xue was pressed against the wall and Rin just placed the kunai flat on Xue’s chest before walking away. It takes Rin a couple of minutes to pour out the water, and sure enough the water held a light green color and evidence that herbs was used. During these couple of minutes Rin made sure to wash out the inside of the canteen before filling it back up with water. Then he takes four cups of ramen noodles to put in his bag and leaves just enough room to put two sets of clothes along with a bar of soap that is wrapped up.

Pressed for time, Rin believes he has everything as he looks around his room that is the size of a small walk-in closet. He takes out the remaining tags and bombs from his bag and puts them in his pouch, but leaves the fuuma shuriken and the wakizashi inside of his bag. Rin really didn’t want to carry that much because it slows him down, but Rin has a feeling that Masuyo won’t let them leave unless they have basically the whole survival kit on their person. Rin neither has the money nor the patience for that. Taking another almond to munch on, Rin finds his headband on top of his bedroll. He honestly forgot to put that on, so Rin puts the headband on his forehead with the steel plate facing outward to show the hidden leaf symbol. Then taking his bag on his shoulders, Rin manages to depart from the compound without further interruption. This mission hasn’t even started, and Rin is already feeling frustrated as things build up from one source to the other.

'Do not let your emotions control your actions. You become predictable and act recklessly.' Rin thought to himself trying to calm himself down. Hopefully with this walking they would be doing Rin's stress goes down as well. 'This is why I am so glad i am not leading. Just something simple.' It wouldn't be too much longer before Rin gets back, but by the time he does it would close to six if not shortly after. Rin would appear to be distant, but he is certain that he is going to fail again. If there is anything Rin can agree on, is that everything he tries he fails. It is becoming easier to just expect failure in Rin's mind towards himself.

    Spent 500 Ryo on food.

Northwestern Gate - Page 2 Empty Re: Northwestern Gate

Post by Sera O'Tem Thu Jul 12, 2018 11:06 am

Sera would watch the others as they produce, fairly poor attempts to make a Survival bag,  not that she had done  overly well( as she would come to Realize)  but she  was suddenly a little upset with herself for not having bothered to check in with her teammates and see what they needed,  at least then they could have all passed this potion as a team and not maybe then Sera wouldn’t have felt like despite being told she did  okay, feeling like she did something wrong.

Sera would have nodded when Masuyo told her about what she could do more effectively, as she too agreed,  but though she had a reason for the stuff she had ( or more accurately the lack of) but would offer no excuses as she didn’t want to ruin the praise by saying something stupid.

Taichi had no bag at all, which Sera couldn’t figure out as to what he was playing at,  he didn’t seem that dense, but again Sera would keep her opinions to herself.  She was sure he had a reason, or perhaps he was just so focused on the mission ahead he over looked the smaller details, after all this was why they had a Sensei.

Rin was not much better though he had a bag he didn’t put his gear on, which was something Sera had honestly considered, but they wouldn’t be able to get battle ready if they moved into a situation that called for it, so despite it being heavier then their normal cloths  this was what they were preparing for.

At the end of this  the lesson still learned was to  Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.  Once the other students left to get themselves ready  Sera would be left with Masuyo, which let weird to have a little one on one time with her, and at first Sera didn’t know what to say, her Sensei didn’t seem like she would enjoy small talk, and  Sera head a feeling that they were given all the details they would get about the mission until Masuyo chose to Reveal them.  A Wave of Relief washed over Sera as Mausyo offered to show her what was packed in her bag.

It was quite impressive,  sera didn’t have the slightest clue as to where one would get these kind of rations, it wasn’t like the everyday store would have them. “ Come to think of it, I don’t know where to even start looking for places that would sell these kind reserves,  where did you get them from?” she would ask now that she had some time she would look over her shoulder to look towards the villages main street.  Thought She hadn’t really looked for any rations specifically it seemed almost like she would need to figure out how to make them.

Sera would look back towards Masuyo  and to the bottle of whisky, it seemed like an oddity Amongst the items she had already shown but upon Explaining Sera would nod as it seemed to make sense and Sera was already formulating uses for it.  things became a little more clear to her after she started think Critically about the uses of everyday items that she had over looked, such as matches in the time they might need a fire,  something water proof would have been nice, and possibly something high in sugars to create energy fast.

“Thankyou for explaining this out for me, I appreciate it” She says flashing a quick smile before  setting her bag back down and  fishing out her sweater,  Adjusting her Nodachi so she could slide it on then place the blade back overtop then closed her bag and placed it on her shoulder.  Thinking of Taichi’s Comment that she had easily dismissed before and how much it bothered her now.   “ A bit chilly out this morning” She would comment idly, to cover up her reasoning as to why she was actually putting on the sweater.

After the furious look Masuyo had given Taichi along with that last order given to him he wasted no time making his way back through the gates, passing by the sentries and dashing through the crowds and building, easily making his way back to his house, as soon as he went through the front door he slammed the door behind him which woke up his grandpa in the living room and resulted in him coming out. "Hey Taichi, weren't you meant to-" he got interrupted with Taichi's rushing up the stairs.

He started to throw everything around his room, looking for his backpack and eventually found it, zipping it open and diving through the contents that he has. The dried food he bought for that one mission with Masuyo from a long while is still there, and he knew this food was built to last so there's no way it would be off or expired. "Dammit Taichi, how could you forget the backpack full of food? idiot!" this is perhaps the only time he's really justified Masuyo being a bitch to him in his eyes. The backpack still carried tools similar to him having to draw the landscape that one time, but he brought it anyway and didn't have any time selectively picking out specific necessities or foods, as long as he knew that food is in there.

As soon as everything is packed, he quickly put the leather wraps of the bag around his shoulder and exited his room, rushing back downstairs and rushing straight for the door "Taichi! slow down!" his grandpa yelled, to which Taichi just ignored. He opened the door and closed it quickly behind him, making a quick dash through the crowds and buildings once more and on his way back to the gates. Considering how speedy he has been on his way back and forth, he might've gotten there just slightly under 5:50

Taichi got back to the gates fast enough, dropping the backpack down to the ground once he got close to Sera and Masuyo once more, assuming that Masuyo would want to inspect while he's catching his breath from basically running all over the village. "There... you go..." pausing between certain words as he's breathing heavily, trying to balance it out once more.

"They're available in the market at the grocery store. The only 'unique' item I have are my dried mushrooms. I made those myself." Sera was responsive and respectful, thanking Masuyo for her presentation. She smiled and nodded. After all, as a sensei she had a greater role than just beating up Genin and lecturing them. It paid to be an example as well. One of power and knowledge. The two would loiter in silence, aside from Sera deciding it was a bit chilly. The weather did not bother the Jounin much, though she was well-covered unlike the girl. It was a bit cool, from what Masuyo could tell on her face; a low 68 Fahrenheit (20 Celsius) made the summer morning refreshing in her mind. The Land of Earth is much cooler at this time of year... She thought reminiscing on her days back in the mountains. Through her memories the two flunkies would finally arrive, Taichi seeming the most exhausted. "Pick your bag up. You and Rin have already failed. We already wasted too much time here due to both of your foolishness."

Masuyo's tone was moderate, though still bitter and scolding. "As I said, we must travel to Tanzaku Town. It's just East of Konoha. We should get there around four in the evening." The travel would be approximately half a day. She accounted for various breaks in between, having sympathy for those who did not pack easily consumable foods. She wanted them to learn, and to be hard, but not brutal or unforgiving. An hour lunch break wouldn't be too killer. "Let's head out."

Sera would Nod and shift he bag on her should getting it into a more comfortable position before moving out with the team, dragging behind a few steps so she matched fell back with Rin and Taichi, “  I think next time we can all pack out bag together and better coordinate who brings what, pass or fail as a team.she said quietly,  unsure if her suggestion would come off as Belittling or offensive, she simply  thought it would be better that way, at least then they would be able to cover all the bases and divided  weighted items like  cooking gear and what not.

Sera would quicken her pace slightly, and travel in the middle of the pack letting Masuyo take point,  Though she felt like she was improving she didn’t feel like she was to the same level as everyone else when it came to spotting potential dangers.

Her New armour was heavier then expected but her upbringing had implanted the notion to never look weak.  She would push through it  and by the time they were a few hours  through the trip she felt her legs where numb to the burning pain that persisted, her only regret was purchasing them so late she couldn’t get some time to break them in before they had traveled,  but at least the would be broken in before the reached their objective.

Through out the trip she would answer any questions her comrades had,  but tried to remain quiet enough not to get scolded or to disrupt Rin’s Sensory.
