After that somewhat eventful first day of his mission series, Rotwang had set up his specific camp in one of the still empty spots in the larger "Mugen Base Camp" area that was located in the "Menzagakure" village where he was supposed to undertake this special mission series
Good heavens...that required quite a bit of effort yesterday...hopefully, today's round of this mission series will be easier in comparison...
Rotwang mused silently in this manner as he woke up inside his tent and waited for his body's systems to come online. After waiting for a few minutes, he felt that he could function properly and so, he set about readying himself for the day's mission round as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid any potential time wastage in his performance of his expected duties. Naturally, once again, he chose to don his puppet armor as well as his usual physician-scientist attire since it was his default attire choice in practically every situation. After that, he took his mission scroll upon which he had started to map the castle and its surrounding area with labels mentioning points of interest and tag locations so that he could track his progress and then headed out of his tent and off towards a different one of the chains that he could see dangling from the floating, rocky landmass that was serving as the castle's support base.
Now then, it is time to get today's mission underway with all due haste...but the castle is said to possess a powerful illusion generation capacity on par with the legendary Uchiha of the Leaf Village and the Kurama clan from...the Cloud village...if memory serves me correctly...Yet, the only such thing that was encountered yesterday was that gate guard...so perhaps today, this mysterious castle will show me something more interesting...but that remains to be seen...and maybe if the Norns see fit to bless me, it will be possible to explore higher levels of the castle and find more tags...
Rotwang mused silently in this manner while ensuring to move at D-tier velocity today as well to avoid tiring himself out since today's tag hunt would undoubtedly require him to use his energies as conservatively as possible. Consequently, it took him a while yet again to reach the beginning of the chain that he was headed to, but he finally did manage to make it there safely again. After that, he made his way up the chain while moving at the same D-tier velocity as before and also using the "Supernatural Walking Practice" like he had done the day before to ensure that his position on the chain remained stable throughout the trip. After several minutes of uphill movement, he finally reached the entrance to the castle today as well
That was truly a long climb up to this point today too...but, at least there were no enemies that ambushed me during the journey up here again...However, that gate guard seems to have been re-spawned to protect the castle's main entrance today, so this means that it will be possible to field-test some more methods of confrontation...
Rotwang mused thus silently as he studied his surroundings on the rocky landmass today as well, all the while being on full red alert status with all his senses again being geared towards attempting to detect and locate any potential traps that may have been laid to deter intruders so that he would not be caught by them today either. Luckily, he did not encounter any traps on his way towards the castle gate guard today either. Then, once he was within earshot and sight range of said guard, he set about investigating the reaction potential of the castle gate guard again, this time by setting up 1 of the 10 explosive tags that he had brought with him with a simple wire trigger as a trap so that he could lure the guard into it for an easier take-down. After that, he moved away to a safe distance from the explosive tags so that he would not get caught in the blast and then clapped his hands loudly a few times to get the guard's attention. In response, he saw the guard charge at him with a sword in hand, only to fall right into the rather simplistic trap that he had set with the explosive tags and be destroyed by the explosion that ensued when the wire trigger for it was activated by the guard stepping on it.
So...these illusions, while substantial, do not seem to have any smart protocols built into their programming...else this one would not have fallen for my trap so easily...Oh well, so much the better for me...Now then, it is time to explore more of the castle...
Rotwang mused thus silently while heading towards and then into the hallway that he knew from his previous exploration day as lying just beyond the castle gate. After entering the hallway, he scanned the hallway as far as his senses could detect again, but he did not find anything. So, he decided to head further inside. However, on this second day of his exploration of the castle and more specifically of this hallway, he found himself suddenly triggering a hidden trap which he was sure had not been there the day before. Said trap ended up launching a volley of senbon at him from launchers hidden in the walls, but thankfully, he was able to fend them off by deploying the twin titanium wings of his puppet armor at C-tier velocity against them to knock them away from him.
How intriguing...it seems that this castle has changed in some respects from yesterday...so, it would perhaps be wise to put up my guard even higher to avoid any potential harm coming to me during today's exploration...
Rotwang mused thus silently after having survived the trap he had encountered successfully and then, he finished walking through the hallway and saw the room that lay at the end, with this room being where he had found the first tag the day before. Therefore, he turned to the right and left to search for a different path, and soon found a staircase heading upward to the higher floors of this mysterious floating castle. Naturally, he took on the challenge of exploring this newly discovered path by climbing up the stairs carefully to lessen the probability of encountering more traps, but sadly, fate seemed to have other plans for him because he did encounter a new trap herein.
Specifically, from what Rotwang could ascertain, this new trap turned out to be one that ended up causing the stairs to transform into a rather slippery slide which caused him to lose his footing and then slide down to the ground floor hallway again. Thankfully, due to having his puppet armor equipped currently, he did not take any damage from the sudden fall.
Hmm...so there is a trap-laden staircase here which leads to the second floor of this castle...That is something that must be recorded on my W.I.P. map of this place...
With that thought in mind, Rotwang forced himself to regain his composure and after getting back up to his feet again, he took out the map of the castle which he started to scribe yesterday, and marked the new finding he had made today on it so that he could have it available for future reference since this mission was still not over yet. Then, he stowed the map away in the pocket of his lab coat and activated his puppet armor's flight module which allowed him to fly up without any further hindrance to the top of the trap-laden staircase which led to the beginning of the castle's second floor. Once there, he deactivated his puppet armor's flight module and started to walk slowly through the hallway that he found leading further into the main part of the castle's second floor.
No traps detected yet...which is a blessing, to be sure...but still, it would be prudent to take all precautions possible...
Rotwang mused thus silently as he made his way into the main part of the castle's second floor, all the while keeping up his full red-alert status for traps. To that end, he also decided to check out his new surroundings further for any potential pings via activating his "Sensing Technique" to see whether he could pick up on the presence of the tags that were supposed to be the secret to the permanence of this mysterious castle and also attempted to detect the presence of any potential hostiles in the area with this same technique. Fortunately, it did not take him too long to locate the tag on the second floor, but he did detect a guard posted where he had received the ping regarding the second floor's tag. So, while keeping his "Sensing Technique" active, he made his way towards that location on the second floor and soon encountered another room. Then, he opened the room's door slowly and cautiously to survey the scene before his entry.
There is the guard...and the tag is located...on the far wall's tapestry...Now then, how to go about this? Perhaps, "Chakra Suppression" would be a better choice instead of the "Sensing Technique" in this situation...
With that action plan devised, Rotwang deactivated his "Sensing Technique" and instead, he activated his "Chakra Suppression" technique instead. Then, with this active masking of his presence in place, he headed into the room slowly while keeping his senses trained on the guard and the surrounding area as well. As he did, he noticed that this guard did not notice his presence even though he was fully visible and audible, leading him to conclude that this specific guard seemed to have been programmed to react to chakra presences instead of physical ones. With that confirmed, he headed over to the tapestry which was fortunately at shoulder level for him, so he was able to tear off the tag and a piece of the tapestry that he had found it attached to so that he could hand it over to the local authorities to serve as proof of his progress on the second day of this special mission series. Finally, he pocketed the tag with the piece of the tapestry still attached and then headed back down to the ground floor of the castle and then out of the main entrance, at which point, he then made his way back down the chain to the "Mugen Base Camp" so that he could rest up for the next day's outing.
