It took Rotwang a while to find the passageway to the eighth floor, but he did manage to discover it in the end via the use of his "Sensing Technique". Said means ended up being a hidden trampoline which he activated after climbing on to propel him through to the hole right above it in the seventh-floor chamber's ceiling into the eighth floor. Once there, he immediately began by setting his "Sensing Technique" to detect any traps and also to discover the location of the eighth tag on this eighth one of his castle exploration days. Fortunately, this time, it did not take him too long to confirm that the eighth tag was not too far from where he had entered the eighth floor.
Alas, there did seem to be a trap hidden somewhere on this current floor and Rotwang managed to pick up on that while he was searching for the eighth floor's tag with his "Sensing Technique" after his arrival on said floor. Naturally, he tried his level best to avoid it, but fate seemed to have other plans in store for him on this day since he ended up tripping the hidden mechanism that had been set to activate said trap upon coming in contact with any intruder. This new trap turned out to be that which sent a giant boulder rolling at C-tier velocity at him from a hidden recess in one of the walls of the eighth-floor chamber. Luckily, he had been put on guard against this trap because his "Sensing Technique" had warned him about its general location earlier
So...this time, the challenge is a giant boulder, eh? This is truly a hackneyed trope...which would imply that this castle's creators have a penchant for incorporating clichés into this magnum opus of theirs...considering that there were those stone golems earlier that came to life and attacked me back on the fourth floor...
Rotwang thought silently in this manner as he analyzed the trap and the giant boulder coming at him so alarmingly fast. Thankfully, however, he was just perspicacious enough that his five senses relayed the data about the trap back to his reflex arcs. Thus, he was able to react in time to attempt a defense against the trap in question, this being deploying the twin titanium wings of the flight module that he had installed in his puppet armor at C-tier velocity to block or deflect the boulder away from him to protect himself against it.
Sadly, it was not to be, because the boulder managed to overwhelm his defenses due to its sheer mass and velocity which gave it high momentum. Consequently, he found himself being hurled toward the far wall of the eighth-floor chamber and was slammed against it rather hard, leading to the loud thudding noise from it echoing across the chamber.
Curses...so, that was not enough to stop this trap...Hmm...perhaps, it would be wise of me to invest in some means to improve this puppet armor of mine...maybe through the incorporation of superior materials of some sort...That, in turn...means that it will be necessary to improve my physical prowess...especially in the dexterity aspect...
Rotwang mused silently in this manner as he picked himself back up slowly after collapsing to the floor of the eighth-floor chamber after being slammed against its far wall. Fortunately for him, though, he had the foresight to have his puppet armor equipped, so he was able to survive the impact force of his crash against the chamber wall due to being hit full-force with the boulder trap that he ended up triggering moments earlier. Therefore, he wasted no further time in heading over to the location of the eighth floor's tag. Specifically, he found it was located beneath one of the central floor tiles of the eighth floor's chamber. After that, he set about retrieving the tag in question along with the floor tile it was attached to so that he could hand both over to the local authorities to serve as proof of his progress on the eighth day of this special mission series that he had been undertaking thus far in the "Menzagakure" village. Finally, he pocketed the tag with the floor tile to which it was still attached and then began to look for a way towards the ninth floor of the mysterious, floating "Mugen Castle".
