Impatience and purpose

There was a slight tension in his temple. Just the one on the right side. A mild irritation that another person had fallen into a coma. Still he needed to move this investigation along. By now any hint of what had happened to the retired Jounin that had left for Wolf due to a voice in her dreams was fading. Kagura Ezume had been the first to draw his attention to it. At least they could investigate what had been calling to her if not why she had stopped communicating almost as soon as she left. Achievable goals were less frustrating. However his plot to have the Uchiha and their issues move away by giving them governing power over a minor nation that would be purchased and controlled by Konoha had also failed so far. However the ten million ryo had been recovered and was now sitting in a travel case with a lock on it on the desk in front of him. The office was rather plain despite it being the office of the highest ranking person in the village. A large Senju wood desk with a leather chair behind it Tengoku was sitting in. There was a filing cabinet with shinobi files in it along one wall by alphabetical order. Along with Two chairs on the other side of the desk from Tengoku. A long series of three windows filled the space behind him.

Tengoku for the moment was unarmed. His three swords sat on a rack on the wall opposite the filing cabinet with the container of hero water tied to the handle of the bottom sword. Next to it was a sword in a glass case from one of the Previous Hokage on display. It was called Singing Tempest but he had never used it himself. All of them of S rank make or greater. Tengoku himself was dressed in his usual yellow and black loose fitting robes with shinobi socks and sandals on. No sleeves and the robes only going down to his knees. Golden rings decorated his ankles, wrists and upper arms with feather patterns on them. His white hair was tied back in a ponytail leaving his wolf like ears in plain sight. The whites of his eyes turned black but the Iris appeared like a golden cross. His attention however was out the window. After all he had sent for a few people. Having them be gathered by his jounin commander so there would be no dragging of feet.

A messenger had been sent an hour prior to find Satomi Uchiha. He was to collect Ren Uchiha, Yui Uchiha and Peragus Hyuga. He was encouraged to be hasty about it but there was no immediate danger. He had a task for them that would determine if they were ready for a rank up for each of them. Ren to learn patience and humility, Yui to gain purpose, and Peragus to help them locate the actual village. He had met all three and it seemed Peragus had the best mindset for them. However he wouldn't send two genin and a Chunnin alone on this. Hence why Satomi was summoned as well. The Jounin commander would likely have someone in mind to watch over them. The poor soul would have his work cut out for him. However for now it was just a matter of waiting. His patience was thin but he could wait a little longer for the lot of them. It was an hour after sunrise with snow falling outside after all. Still he doubted the two Uchiha would resist Satomi. Nor would Peragus likely ignore summons from the Hokage presented by the Jounin commander.

Peragus had been moving toward the Grand Konoha Training facility in the early dawn hours when the messenger that Tengoku had sent to Satomi happened across him. The messenger, being as pragmatic and prudent as such were. Simply informed him to report to Hokage’s Office and to prepare for a mission. That the messenger had been sent to summon Satomi Uchiha, the village's Jounin Commander and to have him summon Peragus himself and two others. Since he had happened upon Peragus anyway. He simply told him and informed him that he would tell Satomi that Peragus was already underway due to circumstance. Peragus would nod before turning back home. He had prepared for a few hours of training but he had not prepared for a mission.

Once he got home, dusting his snow covered shoes on his doormat he would change into something a bit more warmer. He had not expected to be in the cold long so had dressed a bit more comfortably with some warmth in mind but a mission might take him anywhere. He checked and double checked any equipment. Although he used very little and ensured his Konoha Forehead protector was snugly fitted around his face, covering his eyes as always. An hour later he was walking up the steps to the Hokage’s Office, having been ushered up by an only just getting in secretary who was mumbling under her breath about having not had her coffee yet. The Hyuuga chuckled lightly at it as he knocked politely on the door to announce his presence. If told to enter he would do so, moving into the office and saluting, a jovial smirk on his features as he looked straight ahead. Not particularly focusing on the Hokage at the moment. He wouldn’t need to use his eyes for a simple conversation. Although the Hokage of course knew his little secret.

Although it seemed many did nowadays. Still, he did not care, it fit his image and he never knew when he would run into a shinobi not from Konoha’s initially that did not know. So he kept the headband on as a blindfold instead. If Tengoku spoke he would focus his attention toward the voice, his blindfolded eyes focusing on a bit higher. To give at least some respect to the nature of eye contact. Regardless once saluting he would speak his tone as jovial as his smirk. “Peragus reporting for duty sir. Your messenger ran into me on his way to summon Satomi. I was heading to the facility to train and had to return home to make different preparations. I apologize for the time it took.” He would say, his head bowing at the end during te apology.

Satomi had received the message from the messenger. He was to be summoned by the Hokage. Now that he was made Jounin Commander. He had a much more important role in the village as the Second in Command. But this also allowed him to show his face more. As ANBU he was always secretly on missions and had no public relations. So for once he was dressed as regular Jounin donning a jacket and the Uchiha Gunbai on his back. As soon as he got the order he sped there to meet Tengoku.

He walked in and he could see another ninja was there. Peragus. He started to figure it this was a team mission instead of an ANBU one. “You called Lord Hokage. Sendo is gathering the others as we speak.” Sendo was probably finished collecting and on his way as well but he couldn’t hope to keep up with Satomi. So he was sent to get the rest of the team.

Ren was in a state of both astonishment and nervousness, he was just about to head out his door to head to the training grounds when one of his Sensei, Sendo arrived. After Sendo told him that he had been summoned by the Hokage, Ren nearly fell over. The man quickly left after delivering the message, Ren would stand there for a moment not sure what to do before finally coming to his senses and closing his door. He would grab the items he had recently purchased from the shop and head out for the administrative district. He did not want to waste too much of the Hokage's time waiting on him, after all it wasn't every day, he got called to stand before the leader of a village. Moving as fast as he could, his mind would begin to wander as he wondered what the Hokage would want from him. Dressed in his typical training attire as he did not bother to change, with his Haori with the Uchiha symbol upon the back, making him look somewhat presentable. Waiting outside the hokage's office for the secretary to tell him to go in, upon which he would slowly enter the room. Making note of both Satomi and Peragus within the chambers, his heart rate slightly increasing as he wondered what on earth, he had been called there for. Once inside the room, Ren would half bow to Tengoku. "Lord Hokage, reporting as requested." Ren stated before rising and looking to Satomi and Peragus, "Sensei, Peragus." he would add with a nod. He began to wonder what this was about, why they were here as well. Then it was as if all the blood would drain from his face, as a realization dawned upon him. He got a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach as he forced himself to swallow. "Lord Hokage, if this is about that letter of me complaining that my Sensei is always on missions. I apologize it was never supposed to be sent, I was just venting. I am very happy with my Sensei and do not wish for a different one."

Tengoku would be surprised Peragus arrived first. Of course Satomi wasn't far behind and neither was Ren. His eyes shifted between each of them as he would nod to each as they reported in. The amount of power in the room was surprising but with Peragus there at least he wasn't the only non Uchiha. Still Satomi and himself were likely on roughly the same level. He could sense that power from here. The top of his clan and the Jounin commander by right. He had intentions to send them all off with one of Satomi's subordinates but he wouldn't do so without the mans input. Still he would listen to Ren as those black and gold eyes regarded him. Out of everyone he was the most temperamental from what he could tell. Even his words would ring out to those present as Tengoku would smile before leaning back in his seat. His right ankle crossing over his left knee as he folded his hands across his stomach comfortably. Speaking in an amused tone.

"Often it is important to listen before we choose to speak. As this meeting has little to nothing to do with that letter you have only succeeded in outing yourself a little Uchiha Ren. No this is a different matter entirely. I will have waters brought while we wait for Sendo to bring the final person a few minutes. "

As he finished a guard would move off from the door and go to a nearby faculty break room to collect six bottled waters from the fridge. Bringing them back and setting them all down on the desk before excusing himself. Tengoku would collect one quietly and uncap it. Taking a sip as they waited a few minutes. He would grow impatient however as time lengthened and after about thirty minutes he would sigh and speak up once more. Having let them busy themselves with any small talk that may come between them. Especially with what Ren had stated. However he would wait no longer. Speaking up once more.

"Gentlemen, I think we can begin without them. Some time ago a retired jounin left here having heard voices calling her to the land of wolves. She had intended to keep in contact but over all that ceased as well. Something summoning our jounin and them disappearing can not be ignored. So I offered Zenaku a deal. He was to go and find the village hidden in the land of wolves and buy it for Konoha. In return it would be gifted to the Uchiha clan and while they would provide us with half its profits they would move their clan compound there and govern it. However shortly after that discussion he fell ill as you well know. So I will be sending Peragus and Ren to buy the country. Peragus is uniquely gifted for locating such a place and Ren would be representing the Uchiha. Of course sending genin alone where a jounin disappeared is reckless so I would encourage Satomi sending someone with them such as Sendo. I intended to send Uchiha Yui as well but she is notably absent from this meeting. On the surface the mission is to buy the village and build it up. Underneath however is the discovery of what called out to our jounin to begin with. I will now open the floor to each of your thoughts."

Sendo would arrive just as the Hokage explained the mission. It seemed as if the Jounin could not fetch everyone yet. No matter it was up to Satomi to help complete it. The briefing was quick but informative, a peculiar case that needed some discretion as well. "The acquisition for the Uchiha is greatly helpful and immensely grateful. Sendo here can lead this mission. And we should be off at the earliest convenience. Though I will remain cautious about the safety of our ninja because of the sudden disappearances. But I trust them to find out what's going. And to attain the village by transaction." Of course the Jounin Commander trusted all of his comrades, and Tengoku as well. With the looming threat of a teleporting menace, he had to spend some time guarding his Lordship and the rest of the village. However that would never stop the work from getting done. Young Ren would probably learn much from this mission along with Peragus. Working with other villages even by buying them, was the first step in the right direction.

He removed the Uchiha Gunbai from his back and gave it too Sendo. It would provide them some protection while they were on their mission. Sendo accepted it with honor. Seeing as it was a famed Uchiha artifact. "Don't break it." Satomi joked but it was damn near impossible to do so. He looked to Tengoku, "Ready when you are Lord Hokage."

Peragus would watch as others arrived to the office. Ren, Satomi Uchiha, and a third Uchiha he simply did not recognize. The white haired shinobi was beginning to wonder what in the world was going on with him being sent on a mission with three Uchiha when Tengoku began to explain the mission. So, they were to go find the hidden village within the Land of Wolves and purchase it outright for the Uchiha to use as their own place. As well as investigate the land for what might have happened to a Jounin that had mysteriously disappeared. Peragus shrugged at that, his whole job was essentially to play scout and actually do the work of locating the village then. That was simple enough.

Satomi would comment that Sendo could lead them on the mission and proceeded to give him some kind of war fan for him to utilize. Peragus would simply remain quiet and wait patiently. The orders were simple enough: point out the village, try to find out what happened to a missing Jounin. Still he supposed he should formally accept the parameters shouldn’t he? “Understood Hokage-Sama. The village will be found and if there’s information there to be had on the missing Jounin then we’ll find it.” He would say, giving a bow of respect. With that he would quiet down and wait to be dismissed.

Ren would look down to the ground at Tengoku's words, once again he managed to embarrass himself in front of the Hokage. First in the training grounds, by not being able to complete Peragus' challenge, and now here by running his mouth without thinking. The Hokage seemed amused by it all, but that did not stop Ren from thinking about what an idiot he was for the outburst. When the guard would return with drinks, Ren would grab a cup and take a seat, sitting silently as they waited for whoever else was going to arrive. Neither of the other two would seem to draw attention to what he had said, and Ren wasn't about to add to the awkwardness of it all by trying to explain himself anymore.

After some time however Tengoku seemed to grow tired of waiting for the final arrival and began to explain why he had called them there. Hearing about the deal he had made with Zenaku before the clan leader had fallen ill, was a shock as well as intriguing. The thought of the Uchiha having their own country to rule over, sure they would still be of Konoha, but it was the start of the rebuilding of the Scarlet Empire that once held the glory of the land of fire. Even the thought of traveling to this strange land where a Jounin had disappeared didn't bother him in the slightest, he wasn't scared of facing a challenge or danger. Though hearing that he was selected to represent the Uchiha did come as a shock to him, he thought for sure Satomi would be the representative, or some other Jounin. Hell, he even thought that the hokage would have choosen his own student before choosing him, though it was possible he didn't want to send his own student into possible danger. The thought then began boiling in his mind that this was some kind of sanction for Peragus to take Ren out to the middle of nowhere to kill him. This thought was quickly squashed upon him hearing Satomi respond with the fact that Sendo would be accompanying them, surely his co-sensei would not allow Peragus to kill him while they were away from the village. Once Peragus and Satomi had both answered that they were ready to go without any questions, Ren would speak up with the only question now on his mind. "Lord Hokage, I deeply appreciate this opportunity as well as your consideration of me as a representative of the Uchiha clan itself, but I have to ask. Why me? Surely there are far more experienced and higher ranking members of our clan that could be given such an opportunity, I accept it fully and am ready to depart whenever you give the order, I am merely curious as to why you chose me for this role. I'm just a Genin."

Tengoku would listen as all three would accept the mission. Finally rising from his seat as he chose to pass the case itself to Peragus. It had a small bit of weight considering it housed ten million ryo. However it wouldn't be to unwieldy even for Peragus. He handed it to him since he knew of the young mans speed. If anyone was going to escape with that money it would likely be him. It wasn't that he doubted Sendo. he just trusted his instinct too. Still his attention would turn to Ren as eyes seemed to fully drag the young man into them. As if they could see everything the man may wish to hide. As if no lie could possibly fool that gaze. It fell on the young genin Uchiha and despite the others in the room being likely on the same level as Tengoku, at that moment he seemed to command attention. Standing straight up as he crossed his arms. There was nothing outside the two of them in that moment. No mind paid to the others as he gave his answer.

"There comes a time when a mans pride must be set aside for the good of the many. You are going because you are the future of your clan and I need to know that you can temper that pride. If you succeed here your whole clan benefits. Everything is weighted to your success and benefit. But people won't sell to a symbol of pride. Or power. You will need to humble yourself to accomplish this. So will you let the mission succeed or will you remain prideful? That is what you will determine. Now with that you all are dismissed. Spend the day preparing for the journey and saying goodbye to who you wish. You will likely be gone for no less than a week. Dismissed."

with that Tengoku would settle back into his seat. The pressure alleviated in the room and he would appear to just be a man behind a desk. Struggling with paperwork stacks and a lack of good staffing to handle it. He had considered hiring Nikola and Suzuya for the job but their growth was more a priority. Once they were strong enough to survive an attack on Tengoku he would likely reconsider. For now he didn't want to place them in danger. They had enemies plotting games. And the games were not fun.

Peragus took the briefcase from the Hokage and nodded at the implication. He was to safeguard the money and ensure it did not get lost if at all possible. Keeping up with him was difficult for most at the best of times and so he was confident he could handle that much at least. For that matter he was quite confident he could travel to the Land of Wolves, find the village and take care of this himself if he really wanted and be back in a few weeks to a month at the outside. However he would simply have to travel with Ren instead, oh well. He was told to spend the day preparing and to spend time with those he wished. He doubted he would be gone for as little time as the Hokage suggested. Since they would have to find the village too and that would probably take at least a couple of weeks in any nation. However he might be wrong, still, a dismissal from the man's presence had been obvious.

As such, Peragus would salute and turn to leave, carrying the briefcase with him carefully. He would ensure it was kept safe until he left for the Land of Wolves. He shop was a safe place for it and so he would put the briefcase there, safely, until it was time to go. Given that it was right outside of the Hyuuga Clan Compound it would be quite safe from anyway trying anything funny.

Ren would nod to Tengoku, "I will do this for the good of my clan. Thank you for the opportunity, Lord Hokage." Ren would say before making his way to the exit to make preparations for his departure, there wasn't much to do other than figure out how the clan was going to function with the sudden disappearance of Satomi without a word. It was a matter that would have to be dealt with before he left or else there would be no telling what the clan would do if the information came without him notifying the elders of the clan about it. Once that was taken care of, he would have to tell Airi that he was going to be away for a while on the mission and he would be ready to go.
