The situation was getting ridiculous: Mura had just come to this place to get in a quick training session before he was forced to go to one of those stately dinners his clan found so enthralling, and now he was somehow part of a five-way free for all Kage-level battle. The only thing that kept the Hyuga from blind panic was the fact that none present were explicitly forcing him into one-on-one combat: it would be simplicity itself for one of the powerhouses to pluck out his eyes for their own. None of them seemed interested yet, but Mura was ever-watchful.
The big man responded to him once again, once again shrugging off the side-effects of his technique.
“If it works it works I suppose.” Mura said evenly, mentally facepalming. If Mura was the wielder of such a dangerous technique, he would have been a tad more worried about using it when it was not absolutely needed. The Byakugan allowed him to see how the raw chakra being poured into the man’s muscles shredded them like cheese, only to stimulate new growth in an endless cycle. The process had to be immensely damaging to the body, as well as extraordinarily painful, yet all the man did was give out short yells. It would have been extremely impressive if it wasn’t so…..unnecessary.
Mura’s train of thought was interrupted when the golden man merely brushed aside his concerns about engaging a former Kage, stating that he could even be an asset to the big man (Enmei his name was) if they worked as one. The Hyuga was stumped, was he missing something? Sure, he could theoretically serve as a distraction to allow Enmei to draw closer to the man, but that was about the extent of his usefulness. He severely doubted that any amount of teamwork would allow him to seriously harm to former Kage with basic taijutsu if he was fighting with his full strength. But then again, he couldn’t simply leave either: it would be a slap in the face to his whole clan if he simply bowed out of such a gathering.
Thankfully, the older man that Mura had originally scorned provided him a convenient out to the whole situation. With a slight exhale of relief, Mura would turn and bow slightly to first Raijin, then the other man.
“I thank you for your offer Raijin-sama, but I think I will take this man's offer. I think we all will fight better for it." He then turned to Tatsuya,
"That would be most appreciated thank you. I will come at you with everything I have. May I have your name? I am Mura Hyuga.” Mura said sincerely, lowering himself into his fighting stance. His current style a modified version of the Arhat Fist, taught to Hyuga children before they had the capability to deploy the full might of the Gentle Fist. While it didn’t allow him the capability to close chakra points, the damage he could do with the Byakugan to help him identify weak points could not be ignored.
Unfortunately, the situation deteriorated rapidly after that. The Uchiha, seemingly out for Raijin’s blood, kneaded a monstrous amount of chakra in his stomach, nearly blinding Mura’s Byakugan with its brilliance. Mura’s brain went through a simple calculus at that point.
Uchiha were famous for Fire Release techniques.
The Uchiha was currently pointed directly at the group.
Mura couldn’t survive a Fire jutsu of that magnitude.
With a series of curses absolutely not to be uttered by any dignified Hyuga, Mura wove through a few hand signs at a terrified pace, forming a thin layer of Wind Release chakra around him, drastically boosting his speed. In a blind panic, Mura attempted to throw himself out of the line of fire with all the speed he could muster, although it would clearly not be enough to save him. His only hope was that one of those present could shield him from a fiery demise….
