Mission Goal: Go to Jaynestown and investigate the rumors that the Alliance has been forcing people of the town into indentured servitude.
Description: An entire town has been named after a member of the crew. There are rumours that the town is a happy front for indentured servitude, and is actually run by the Alliance. As long as Jayne is with you, the town will welcome you with open arms, but they will expect you to save them.
Payment: 25,000 ryo
Requirements: C-Class, Completed ‘Our Mrs. Reynolds’

What in the actual fuck?

Okay, backstory, there’s this crewmember named ‘Jayne’ who was basically an idiotic gun nut and had delusions of grandeur. It didn’t help that he went out of his way to try to be more intimidating because his name was that of a woman’s and he was a rather tall and well muscled man. So imagine Tamwyn’s surprise when they happen across a town named after the fucking moron? God he didn’t know what he would do if he came across a town called ‘Tamwynnia’ or something god awful like that. So they stumble across this town and it looks like everyone there is practically worshipping Jayne over something he’d done for them years prior. The town was full of indentured servants and rumor had it that it was secretly run by the Alliance.

Their mission was to find out the truth of those rumours and, since Jayne was with them and they would expect them to save the town. Probably take care of that too. As it was at the moment Jayne was playing up the town while Tamwyn and Yenn were sneaking around the local magistrates house. Looking for evidence of Alliance backing and control. The evening was growing late and the man in charge was in his hall eating. Or pacing nervously when he was intending to be eating anyway. But it all equated to the same thing anyway in the end. Tamwyn moved through as silent as the dead and eventually found the office. Without a sound he silently picked the lock, and stepped inside, thanking all that was good in the world that the door didn’t creak when he opened it. He would of course let Yenn in before doing so.

Jayne had a town named after him?

It was a surreal experience to see the gruff and uncouth mercenary type worshipped as a local hero. Jayne wasn’t the type of person that she thought was worth naming a town after, but he also wasn’t Tamwyn and so he was being measured against someone that Yenn thought was worth more than anyone, which was hardly fair. The mission here was to discover the seedy truth of the town, which it was suspected that ‘Jaynestown’ was filled with indentured servants and was being run in secret by the Alliance. It was a sordid affair and she was gorram sick of dealing with slavers. She decided then and there that if it was ever in her power to do so, she would abolish every type of slavery and servitude and get rid of those who disagreed. Not an elegant solution, but she couldn’t stand the thought of people being forced to do things against their will.

With Jayne keeping everyone in town busy revelling and singing songs about ‘a man named Jayne’, Tamwyn and Yenn had free reign to search around and find evidence that would tell them what was actually going on. Following Tamwyn’s lead she would sneak through the local magistrates house and slip into the office after Tamwyn deftly picked the lock. It wasn’t quite as exciting as the secret room they had found so long ago, but it was thrilling all the same. She set to work immediately looking for anything that would spell out the truth, quietly sifting through papers and books until she found some coded entries of a financial ledger that was not so secretly coded. Several payments back and forth with a group called ‘The Affiliation’ was probably the most laughable code name she’d seen. Bringing the ledger over to Tamwyn she would point out the entries and grin. “What do you think? This proof enough? Also, do I win this time?”

When Yenn found the financial ledger he would laugh. He was looking through the man’s desk and so Yenn was effectively standing next to him as he sat within a swivel chair. At her questions his reaction would be to turn the chair, move to pull her down and capture her lips into a deep kiss as he stood and pressed her against the desk. He would let the kiss deepen further until it was just on the edge of going out of control and when it was there. When he was about to crack under his own pressure he would break it and look into her violet eyes with his yellow ones. “Yes, you do win. You’ll get the rest of your prize later...if you want.” He would say, giving her a small wink as he picked the ledger up and unpinned her from the desk. Now it was time to free the town since they would be expecting that with Jayne there. So Tamwyn would proceed to move out of the building, hopefully with Yenn nearby.

When he exited the building he would hand the ledgers over to Yenn to hold before charging up his Kikoho and firing it into the manor house. The only one inside was the magistrate, who was obviously an Alliance member based on the ledgers. Who they were killing left and right. With the sudden, and flashy, very very flashy, destruction of the manor and it’s lord. The indentured village would be suddenly freed from it’s servitude. Tamwyn would proceed back to camp as the rest of the crew partied with the townsfolk. Tamwyn however was only interested in Yenn and with the crew gone to party, they had the camp to themselves now. Provided Yenn wanted her reward for winning, they would use every moment.

Yenn grinned as Tamwyn swiveled around to face her, she loved his laugh and she loved it even more when she was able to inspire it. She hadn’t been expecting his reaction to her question though and a muffled ‘what?’ escaped her lips as they pressed into his. Her surprise didn’t last long as she melted into his kiss and wrapped her arms around him. She forgot about the mission, forgot that they were on the desk of a corrupt magistrate after breaking into his home, forgot about everything except how she felt pressed up against Tamwyn. Had he not chosen to break their kiss she was sure she wouldn’t have. “I definitely want.” she said breathlessly as the reality of what they were supposed to be doing came rushing back.

Exiting the manor she nodded approvingly as Tamwyn obliterated the home and the magistrate along with it. She held onto the ledger that he’d handed back to her, just in case they needed it for evidence and hurried along with Tamwyn back to a very empty camp. The rest of the crew were celebrating the freedom of Jaynestown and that meant she got to have Tamwyn all to herself. With no one around Yenn took the opportunity to collect her winnings long into the night.
