Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Wed 9 Sep 2020 - 2:06

    Mission Name: Damian's Drainway
    Mission Rank: A
Theater of War: The Epsilon Eventuality
Relevant Plot NPCs N/A [Unless Requested by Players]
    Mission Goal: Protect/Kill Malver Kurama
Description: The Fohen Union has taken up residence in one of the Mountain's critical Dead Zones, Damian's Drainway, and their current leader Malver plans on using it as a way to cut off any scroll-related movement. Several factions have hired shinobi to either act as bodyguards for Malver or to kill him and have their faction take the Dead Zone instead. Victory is declared when all but 1 side is incapacitated.
NOTE: Genjutsu is ineffective on this mission as the Dead Zone will automatically break any Genjutsu put on a person.
    Payment: 100,000
Maximum Number of Participants: 2 or 3 (1 for each faction)

The Epsilon Range. He...no They had been here once before, though the memory was hazy. It was when he was young, young enough that really only Id could remember. But he had read the stories about this particular location within the range: Damian's Drainway. At the time, it was considered to be a place where boogymen were born due to the strange chakra anomaly that caused their bloodline to go haywire. Mort himself has to spend several days of travel taking fequent stops as he hit patches of what he could only describe as 'Genjutsu Vortexes' that sent his senses into places he hadn't experienced in years. But then, when he had entered the location of the twin peaks, it was silent.

He had set up camp the night earlier at one of the smaller outcroppings on the left mountain a good 100m above the dam, the right mountain supposedly bringing bad luck. But it didn't matter which mountain he had stayed at, as it gave him a good view of his mission location. The name of the area had two meanings, the first and more obvious one was the effect it had on genjutsu, and the lesser one was that a large dam was set up between the two hilly-mountain terrains (think the Vajont Dam). He had read somewhere it was made by a Yōton user several decades ago, but outside of maybe his cousin he had no real proof. It didn't matter though, as he knew his target Damian was located somewhere in settlement built on top of the dam, as the lower settlement could easily be flooded away.

Checking his gear one last time, he'd pull out a set of binoculars. He wasn't too worried about being spotted right now as he was in a shaded area. No for now he'd watch as he tried to locate Damian and the supposed Fohen hired guard.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Wed 9 Sep 2020 - 11:26

Along the edge of the dam all seemed normal. A small camp of men was camped out in the center unaware of the one looking over them and plotting a hundred meters away. Their sensory nin was not that capable but just enough to give some warning when someone entered within fifty meters of the camp. A young man who barely was keeping his eyes open as he sat in the center and lazily felt out for any new chakra that may be coming towards them. Little more than an alert for the men in the camp to arm themselves. As of yet though nothing had come about for some time. He was beginning to find himself rather bored and wanting a nap. However he had been instructed about how essential it was for him to remain vigilant. Without his sensory the camp could easily be overrun. Of course the young man now thought the idea of such a thing happening was sheer paranoia. Silly to even think someone would come looking for them out here. Still as his eyes drooped he would feel something like a tingling just out of sight. For a moment it was odd and then suddenly he felt it.

Mort would have a view of it all. The slight mist picking up on the edge of the dam. Not enough to deter vision at all but still it rolled in like a blanket. As it did the young man began screaming and waving his sword around wildly while clutching and scratching at his head. Even from a hundred meters away the screaming was audible. Over and over again that ' he was coming' and 'they needed to flee....none could survive him'. Men in the camp quickly came to arms as one tried to approach the maddened young man. Only to have to side step the wildly swung blade. Madness had over come the young man. They were shouting for him to calm down when suddenly his eyes snapped to the edge of the dam. Tears running down his face before he turned and threw himself bodily from the dam into the depths below. Fading to be little more than a body in the depths below. He had chosen to end it rather than face what was coming. The remaining men stared in shock at the display before gathering in force and looking both ways. Soon one man shouted and indicated the far end of the dam. Someone was there.

For anyone watching it was as if the shadows and mist clung to the legs of this man. This being coming from the depths of no where. He seemed to almost float along but the ground where he walked suggested otherwise. Leaving blackened and cracked burn marks where ever his bare feet touched. A pale man walked onto the dam the men would form a line of defense in front of their apparent leader. Easily identified for Mort now as they seemed prepared to fight. However the pale man did not slow his steady pace towards them. His ice blue eyes would take them in as his hands were held out to his sides. The mist rising up like a pet waiting to be patted by him. Suddenly there was the sensation of distant whispers in the air. Even Mort could hear them. Like distant people weeping just out of sight. One man would step forward to meet Sero only to find himself unable to move once he got within ten meters. His sword shaking in his hands as he gasped for air and sweat began to run down his face.

Sero would approach the first man and none dared come to his rescue. The man shook as tears formed in his eyes. There was no jutsu at play here but just the most primal of fears. The man watched as Sero approached. White robes blending into the mist as pale fingers reached out. Tracing along the shaking blade and leaving burn marks along the metal. Like a torch running along it. The man would weep but his fear would not let him move from his placement. Instead he stared into the pale ones eyes and saw no form of mercy there. His lip trembled as Sero slowly turned the blade and with a swift motion shoved the tip into the mans throat. Letting him fall where he stood as blood pooled around Sero's feet. Fear spread among the others as about half them turn and fled. Whatever was there on that dam with them was causing quiet the stir. Yet none of them seemed to dare charge the being. He was wearing no identifying markers but along the right side of his jaw was exposed bone. One could see his jawline and teeth. Yet even from where Mort was hidden he could hear the whispers. Distant but audible like something haunting his dreams.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Fri 11 Sep 2020 - 10:30

The boy wonder known to many (but not all) as Mōtimā would watch the strange set of events play out upon his mountain campsite. It was no secret that while the Kurama were a mental bastion, this place was often harsh on their mind given their techniques had no effect here. Mort was one of the few Kurama who could deal with it given he had his Id, but he was still unnerved by the mental silence of the world. But what he saw before him was no illusion, no. Whatever that was on the bridge was almost like looking at a living illusion made by the world itself. Outwardly he'd only frown, while internally he was filled with dread for the upcoming fight ahead.

'Oh great, looks like we aren't the only ones with demons not affected by the landscape.' "Oh fuck off Id. We're going to have to fight that if we want to prove Malver is dead and reclaim the drainway." 'I know, but it's still reassuring to know this valley hasn't given up all of it's secrets.'

And yet, more was to come as Mort would jump in surprise as a lightning bolt struck his tent, utterly decimating the poor thing and leaving only a box where the tent was. Given how it was fairly clear out, Mort had a good idea what it was, a surprise Heavenly Transfer, but he didn't know why. Whatever it is though had to be checked quick, as that bolt more then likely gave away his position to whatever that human down there was.

Opening the package one thought ran in their mind: The timing could not be better. "Well well well, better late then never I guess." The package contained the gear he'd been waiting on for several weeks now, the brim hat, some gloves, and a proper battle kimono. Just holding them he could tell they held power, but now wasn't the time to marvel at them, no he'd just have to figure out how well they worked with his current style as they went. Quickly putting on the items and sealing up the campsite remains, he'd form the tiger seal and make two clones of himself. One of the clones eyes turned purple almost immediately, while the other clone's eye became gold. The gold eyes was a new development after the Ryuko tested their mettle, and he wasn't sure why, something to figure out later. The two clones would slide down the cliff at a decent pace before stepping onto the dam and approach this mysterious man. The main body would continue to watch from above through the 'noculars, though he'd keep guard in case he'd have to quickly move.

The clone with purple eyes was the first to talk as they all approached, yet it seemed unaffected compared to the golden eyes's waryness and silent demeanor. "I assume the Tsukumogai sent you, child of steam and bone?" Already the two clones were analyzing their opponent, running what they saw from the binoculars in their head again and staying on guard in case the man were to approach. The got close, but not close enough to truly feel the aura this man was giving off, not that they knew the darkness this man held.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Fri 11 Sep 2020 - 12:58

Sero would watch the remaining men fall back into their camp before his attention was drawn elsewhere. Short of scaling the dam there was no escape that way. They had to pass him in order to flee. Instead two men nearly identical in nature approached him. Cold blue eyes would turn to regard them as he turned his head slightly. They spoke to him but he hardly gave a response. Were they guards of his target? How quickly he would send out his elite to deal with an approaching threat. Perhaps Sero should be wary he thought for a moment. Kiri had sent him here alone to deal with this and it seemed his enemy outnumbered him. Still there was little in the way of fear in those cold eyes. Little in the way of emotion at all. Instead he would turn to face them fully. He was barefoot in white pants that seemed to be layered over each other like bone plates. His top was a black V neck shirt with a long white overcoat. No headband marked him but he was sure the bone on his face spoke chapters to his origin. Still they refereed to him as a child of steam and bone.

Sero would tilt his head as he studied the two of them a moment. Finally he would speak in return. A monotone voice. Yet as he spoke it sounded like there were whispers in the air just too soft to hear. The mist picking up around the dam but still only just below it. Not blocking off any vision. They were at least ten meters out if they were outside of his influence. Still he would speak in return.

"I may have been born of flesh but death is my trade. There is a man here I am supposed to apply my trade to. You do not match his description. So I offer you this. Walk away now. Anyone between me and my mission is forfeit. I will spill blood here today."

He took a step forward. Putting the two of them just barely within the ten meters of his aura and it would become apparent he was not bluffing. Death hung in the air suddenly like a thick scent. A pressure placed upon the mind as if a beast was just outside of their perception hunting them. The being who stood before them could hardly be considered human. For a moment looking into those cold blue eyes was like looking into a void. All that rested within Sero was violence. Sero would take a second step forward. Still nine meters from them. However he was giving them a second to choose. If they rushed him he would kill them. If they fled he would continue on his mission.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Fri 11 Sep 2020 - 19:58

The clones listened to the man, finding his voice to be quite intriguing. It reminded them of their own passive influence on the world, though it too was annoyingly suppressed here. Given they were slowly getting more and more control over it, Id wondered how they could use this as an idea for future genjutsu. But that was for later, as even within those seven sentences they got a good idea of the situation before them. This man was there to killsteal. And then the man stepped forward, and the rush of...something washed over the two clones.

Id couldn't help it. "HAHAHA! Is that supposed to scare me? I've felt worse from my own baby nephew!" The purple eyed clone would bring their closed hand to their mouth, chuckling into it. Id had felt fear, but this was something they hadn't felt in a while. Actually no, this was different. While it certainly reminded them of their time having to avoid a particularly nasty Jashinist group within Kumo, this was more primal, something up the Id alleyway, and predator or prey, Id reveled in the feeling of the hunt. The golden-eyes one didn't outwardly react, but unlike it's partner, there was fear coming from it, as it was not used to the presence of a monster.

"Sadly I'm pretty sure that our target is one and the same, a mister Malver if I recall correctly. And while I'd love to not get my hands dirty, I can't exactly risk the mission for that. If its any consolation though, it is nice to know Jashinists don't have a monopoly on spookyness anymore." Both the clones would swing their hands, creating an extreme amount of air pressure as a multitude of wind blades formed from their hands and were launched at this man, the mist around them dispersing.

Continuing to watch from the mountain above, Mort mentally cursed his Id as once again they decided to go a bit overboard. Soaring Swords or not, it was a bit overkill.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Sat 12 Sep 2020 - 12:14

One laughed at him. Ice blue eyes took him in a moment as Sero approached at a steady pace. He could feel it. The lack of fear from one and the slight caution from the other. He would step forward as the one spoke. Making it down to five meters before suddenly the two of them unleashed their attacks. Sheer destructive force of four wind blades ripping through the top of the damn wall where Sero had been standing. No chance in hell he dodged it. Debris cascaded into the air forming a cloud of dust from the destruction. Whatever had been in the path of that pure unhaltered violence had to be torn to shreds. They were not playing around with an enemy that was for sure. From Mort's view above it looked like they wiped out Sero in one move. Nothing but a cloud of destruction left. Yet from within the cloud there was a pulse. So much malevolence that one might find it hard to imagine it was human. Something within that cloud was coming and all their efforts were for naught. The hydrification technique had allowed those blades to pass right through him. Now it was his turn.

    "Meaningless."

From within the dust Sero began to rapidly form hand seals. Hidden from the naked eye by it. Of course he couldn't see outside of it either but from the fear of the one he knew they had not yet moved. Dog, Rat, Rabbit, Bird and then oddly enough he finished it with the snake seal. As soon as he was finished Sero stepped out of the dust cloud now only three meters from them. Cold blue eyes regarding them before suddenly his amplified technique would launch. Thirty bone senbon launched in every direction at B rank speed for twenty meters. The amplified bone jutsu flying forward with full intent to wipe out anything around him. The attack cared nothing for anyone caught in the way. It was an attack that went in virtually every direction so dodging wasn't really an option. Not that there was really anywhere to go on top of a dam. If nothing else they needed to have some sort of defense prepared in order to counter it or simply be faster than bone needles flying at B rank speed. Perhaps there was something else he hadn't considered yet, but his focus was on the one who had laughed at him. Laughed at what he was. All that filled the air besides the dust and senbon was one thing. Murderous intent.

    100/110 Sero's chakra:

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Sun 13 Sep 2020 - 10:24

All three though that would be the end of it, all four attacks should have ended it right then and there, but the clones noticed something wrong, very wrong. The malicious presence was still there, and because of that both clones were still on guard. They got confirmation that whoever it was that they had attacked was somehow still alive when they spoke, and they both pulled out their cloned copies of the tuning fork sword. However, that didn't seem to matter much as when they next saw the man, it was too late.

The purple-eyed one noticed the hand seal first, and even without knowing what the previous tech was given how much they liked the technique they had a feeling something big was coming and they needed to move. "Aw shi-!" Both of the clones would try to jump back and use body flicker, but the bone senbon were just fast enough to get to them before either could fully mold the chakra inside of their now dissipated bodies. Mort himself would have the brief but painful memories of being impaled in places he was unused to cause him to flinch in a false pain, briefly losing sight of the man. Internally he could hear Id ranting, but he really couldn't be bothered by it right now given what was in front of him. The man hadn't moved out of the way and his clothing nor the bone on his cheek was damaged, which given his limited knowledge currently pointed to one thing.

"God damn it, not one of these people." Mort had heard of them, those who were practically immune to any attack: Hozuki. Now Mort was getting really concerned, as his opponent was showing several bloodlines, neither of which he could counter given his skill level and environmental bullshit. It was extremely rare for a person to have a second bloodline, sure, but given implanting bloodlines were a possibility, it wasn't out of the realm of realism. But something about that mist that came off of the man was worrying him. Mist often involved heat, but chakra affinities shouldn't affect one's body unless it's a minor bloodline, such as Tamwyn and his eyes. Was the cool air just reacting to his opponent's body temperature, did he have a fire affinity, or was it just a bloodline quirk? He needed more info, and he wouldn't get it sitting up here.

Forming another tiger seal he'd form yet another clone with lavender eyes who'd go down the mountain. The clone wouldn't try to hide it's presence, instead yelling at the top of it's lungs down to the marrow man. "You fucking asshole! I've stabbed my body plenty of times in plenty of places, but getting a god damn senbon launched into my eye fucking hurts!" "Oh my god Id, you tried to kill him, no shit he was going to retaliate!" "It's a matter of pride dumbass!" "Your pride just gave us away!" But the clone wasn't replying anymore as it continued down the mountain and back onto the damn.

"Okay, this time you die." As soon as the clone stepped back onto the dam it exhaled a large gust of wind from their mouth towards the man, taking advantage of the artifact they had attuned to letting them not have to use any hand seals for Fuuton. Mort could only shake his head in annoyance as watched his lesser half, continuing to watch and see what happens as he tried to think of a counterattack.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Sun 13 Sep 2020 - 22:52

Sero would watch the two men turn into puffs of smoke and narrow his eyes. Someone was playing games. Toying with him by sending out clones as fodder. His gaze shifted to his left and then his right. Where ever the main body was hiding they were not nearby. Which was surprising to Sero. He had always assumed clones had a limited range or use. Whoever he was fighting was crafty. Likely he wouldn't be able to fight them off indefinitely. If he considered his options he had two in total. First was to collect the head of his target. To bring it back as proof. However part of his mission included eliminating all hostiles. They had made an attempt to murder him of course which meant their life was forfeit. However they appeared to be a cautious one. A cracking sound brought his attention to the damage to the dam behind him. Cracks dragged through the top of the damn but it was holding together even if it was more brittle now. Still he would need to be careful to finish this quickly or get off the dam. It wouldn't hold under much more. It wasn't like it was chakra reinforced stone.

He was weighing options when he noticed a figure approaching him from further up the mountain wall. He knew now where they were coming from. No effort to hide their origin. This new clone even yelled at him about the senbon he got to the eye. Sero narrowed his eyes but was rather aggressively caught off guard when this clone let off a powerful wind jutsu with not warning or hand signs. Suddenly a huge gust of wind would lift Sero bodily from the ground and fling him. Causing the water to surge and splash as the dam shook under the intense wind pressure. The cracks spreading as a few spots burst open and water began to pour through. The dam was failing as it was which meant the valley below was about to become a lake. It had maybe a few minutes left before something gave way. Sero however had been blown back into the mountain with another cloud of debris. Now his aura had faded away and when the dust settled his body was no where to be seen. It appears that with one move the Mort clone had wiped out this spooky little threat. Not a sign of him having survived it.

The truth was much more sinister. Sero had transformed his body entirely to water and hid among the rocks moving up the mountain to where the main body likely was. Careful to remain as water and move like a snack up the mountain. Hunting for his prey. Careful to keep rocks between him and that area until he circled around to the high ground about thirty meters away. Finally spotting his prey. So he was hiding and watching. Well Sero had kept himself hidden well enough hopefully. Still he would continue up another twenty meters. Only once he was fifty meters away would he even chance using this new jutsu. After all if he messed it up and got caught in it, trouble would arise. For now he was going to take this one out without threatening the dam. After all this enemy had positioned himself a hundred meters up. Likely the clone had already moved on to attack the camp. It took a minute to get that far with D rank speed. Still once he was above his enemy by fifty meters he would reform into his upper body as he made several hand seals.

Rat → Dog → Tiger → Horse → Dragon → Ram → Dragon was formed quietly and from fifty meters out he couldn't see much about the person but he could see where he was. As soon as the signs were done he would turn and hold out his right palm. Cold blue eyes watching as a small baseball sized fireball launched from his palm. No sound made. No taunting the enemy. Just a small red baseball flying at the ground next to where his opponent was watching. Sero would slide back into his puddle and move a few meters back. The ball falling and finally hitting the ground next to Mort by maybe three meters away. Sero had aimed it at him but it was such a far shot it was unlikely that he would make it. Not with his perception. Still he didn't need to be close. The ball would burst and the side of the mountain would turn to fire for fifty meters in every direction. A burst of fire and rage sending a blast wave that burned trees and sent the shockwave to the dam itself. A massive explosion ripping apart the side of the mountain. Just out of reach of Sero who remained sheltered in his liquid form.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Tue 15 Sep 2020 - 12:33

The clone smiles as it watched the man fly off, satisfied they were able to actually see their attack actually land this time. "HAH! Never underestimate the power of a Kurama!" Mort could see that his doppelganger was dancing on the damn, but looking to the impact zone once again there was another cloud not allowing him to see how in the gods name this person was surviving their attacks. It was clear they were affected somehow given they were picked up by the gust of wind, so they were physically there. However, when the dust settled the both of them were greeted by a surprising sight: the body wasn't there, and the pressure they were feeling was gone.

The clone decided that this was cause for a short break, but Mort himself wasn't so sure. For a clan that was famed for being damn near invincible, they should've been killed off by the first attack, not a large gust of wind that dealt a kinetic impact. No, just as he was playing it safe, his opponent had to be as well in some form. Problem now though was that he was getting an idea on what his bloodlines could do, or maybe techniques? It was strange not having Id to bounce ideas off of, but for whatever reason they went silent whenever they took control of a clone. He'd make another sweep with his binoculars over the bridge and by his landing sight, but no dice. Now that he though of it, if it was a technique there was something he could probably do.

Like Sero had predicted, the clone eventually got bored and went into the damn itself to go hunt down Malver. The clone would beat up some thugs as it passed by some fancy electronics they didn't care about. Meanwhile Mort was still keeping an eye out in case the man did reappear, as well as any possible new attackers. It was perhaps the longest minute of his life up to that point as he kept going over the attack his clone made, and just the strangeness of it all. He'd take the time to pull out his ink pot, the brush and his notebook to make some tags, a very specific tag in fact: the five elements seal.

It was...well it was a strange process trying to make the seals. drawing the seal itself was a simple task, for him it was just making a circle of five matagama and leave a blank spot in the middle. It was the application that made things stranger. the way he had studied it it expected a person to be able to create fuinjutsu seals with their chakra alone and not through an inky medium. And yet, here he was unable to do such a thing, so he had to think of a new way to pull it off, hence him putting the seal into the pages of his notebook. the handseal was that of pressing the seal into someone, so if he were to tear a page out and slam it into them while putting chakra into the seal, it may work, though given what his opponent was, he wondered if the seal would even stick. And as much as he could probably due with making more seals, given he was just staring off five felt like a good start, just like how he practiced every other seal. Once the five seals were prepped with chakra ink and the pages folded and slightly torn for easy removal, he'd slide the gear back under his armor, and not a moment to soon.

Mort finally got his answer on if the man was dead in the form of a fireball launching his ass off the side of the mountain. He hadn't seen it coming as his hat was tilted to the side, the same side that it was launched from. But that was also what probably saved him from getting any real damage, as thanks to his new armor while he was launched into the air from the impact the armor soaked up the damage he would've taken. It was also for the best that he was so close to the point of impact that the force of the blast pushed him out of it and into the air in almost a comical fashion. Eventually though the blast would reach it's end and the storm of fire that was pushing him would release him from it's push and allowing him to finally activate his sword's ability of flight without worry.

He'd do a quick pat down of his body to make sure he was okay, and while his clothes were a bit hit the fact he had hastily put them on probably gave him an out today. "Gah, I gotta remember to thank Ryuko for this stuff, cuz holy heck I would've been toasted it she hadn't gotten this to me." at the same time he could feel memories flood into his mind. 'Malver's dead apparently the fear got to him first and he took his own life. All that's left is securing this place and why are we warm?' 'Just sift through, I need to think of how to go about this.' Indeed, as he hovered there, about 45m above and 20m away from the now destroyed campsite, (thank god he sealed his shit earlier) he'd reach for his binoculars before realizing those weren't sealed. "Well shit, those were a rental." And given that he'd just float there, trying to see where in gods name the fireball came from.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Fri 18 Sep 2020 - 10:48

Sero would watch the explosion rock the side of the mountain as trees and terrain lit on fire. The enemy caught in the midst of it and usually he would have assumed that would be the end of it. The mass of destruction wiping out the side of the mountain entirely. He would wait though. Always waiting and watching. Hunting his prey as was to be expected. His gaze scanning the area as flames lit up the mountain in a different way. A way much more suited to him. He was about to accept the fight was won when suddenly his eyes caught sight of someone hovering above the smoke patting himself down. So his target was durable. To endure that explosion without a hint of damage. The armor was burnt but otherwise fine. Essentially a full body suit of armor. So this one thought to defend himself before their encounter. Well done. Still Sero had plans to achieve. He just needed to be clever now. Do things outside of the ordinary. A plan formed in his mind but for the time being his attention was quickly drawn elsewhere. As the goal of the mission was not just this one but the man on the dam as well.

A loud crack in the dam boomed across the area. A series of web like cracks forming along it's surface. The damage to it had been too great and now water pressure was pushing through the cracks. Spraying out like a firehouse over the valley below. Aside from a power source Sero knew that Dams usually kept water levels from flooding a populated area. Farmers and such would be effected by this battle. People would lose their lives and their homes. Perhaps this man wasn't from Kumo. Perhaps he hadn't considered the consequences of fighting on the dam. Such powerful jutsu had destabilized the entire area. This was something that Sero could not tolerate. Because this man wished to fight him he had sacrificed lives. Innocent lives. Rage filled Sero at the selfish wickedness. He wouldn't be able to simply hide and wait for an opportunity now. Armor or no Sero was going to take down this enemy. He was going to cause him pain and terror. This man who had simply did as he wished was now one of the wicked Sero hunted in his mind. And the wicked always needed to be punished.

Sero would emerge just enough from his water form with his hands to preform a tiger seal. A water clone of himself forming next to him. Once it took his appearance Sero would return to his full liquid form and slip onto it's back as just a hidden layer of water under the coat. This was playing the mans game now as he hid on the clone in hopes of luring him out. The clone itself would begin walking down the side of the burnt mountain. The smoke and flames from the burning tree's surrounding him but not hiding him as bare feet walked scorched earth without a care. Cold blue eyes seemed to stare at the man flying in the sky with no sense of mercy. That sense of dread returning to the battle field ever more with the rage Sero felt. There was one thing clear about this fight now. Sero was coming for blood. The killing intent flooded off of him like a pressure around the throat with each step he took. The fires surrounding him as he stopped a couple dozen meters away from Mort. Perhaps the devil had come to claim a soul. Whatever it was this was dangerous now.

In a cold voice Sero spoke. It was like there were people whispering on the wind echoing his words all around. The whites of his eyes slowly turning black like swamp water around the ice blue eyes giving them a glowing nature. If Sero was anything he was not human. Still those words echoed in the air.

"Little bird little bird. Do not flee from me. You have in your eagerness damaged that which keeps the valley below safe and now, now lives will suffer because of it. I will hunt you if you flee from me little bird. Face me here and now so I can pluck your wings."

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Sun 20 Sep 2020 - 1:40

Mort would stop his search as he heard the large cracking noise of the dam begin to break, slowly looking to turn at it before it took too much pressure and burst, several new senses of dread crawling into his mind. "Aw shit Ryuko's going to be pissed at us for that-ach." He'd flinch and rub his back as the actual impact of the fireball caught up with him. "Well at the very least people were evacuated to the upper lever earlier, at least I hope so." He had no idea, but if Malver was really that dumb not to move them to a safer location given the war and how important this location was, he could see why fear was what did him in.

It tool him a little bit, and while he didn't see the clone form, he could feel the strange fear-inducing intent of the man from this far away as soon as he turned around and saw the man. Oh man, he really had royally messed up. It was to an extent like looking at a devil, but it was almost comforting, like looking at what could have been yet thankfully wasn't. "Little bird? That's a new one, and yeah, totally messed up there, but it isn't the first time that dam's broke. I think that's like the third or fourth dam made just in this location?" he wasn't sure, but he recalled the dam was used to block off some sort of cavern below in addition to it's normal faculties of being a dam. Problem was he couldn't recall what the cavern held or why it was blocked off.

He'd make the tiger seal and a clone would form behind him in a puff of smoke, a green-eyed clone forming this time and dropping down to the ground as it drew the copied Weaklesness Soaring Shortswords, briefly using a signless jutsu to reduce the impact of hitting the ground to basically nothing, taking advantage of the jutsu to move five meters from the Hozuki. The clone would speak, the main body now purple-eyed as Id controlled it and stayed up in the air a good 40m still above the ground. While Id still had no fear of this man, they recognized they themselves had messed up and Mort was going to have to fix this mess. "But, lucky for you I can't flee. I started this dual, and, well I gotta finish it as well. The amount of fear coming off his clone lighting up like a beacon for those who could see it, and as soon as he drew it he'd move in to try and cut this annoyance several times in rapid succession to quickly reduce his remaining chakra. It wasn't pretty and he wasn't expecting the clone to last long, but boy if and when he got stabbed it would hurt.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Mon 21 Sep 2020 - 2:04

Sero would form one eye as he watched from the shadow of the hairline of his water clone. The flying man seemed to feel confident enough to talk while he was in battle with Sero. Well that wouldn't do. He would form his hands behind the clones back as he was careful to keep them out of line of sight. That armor was impressive but he was sure he could damage it. After all it was metal. Perhaps he could melt it to the man and make it his tomb. Wind seemed to be his prominent and perhaps only element so far. So fire was the route to go. Still this was aggravating. This person didn't seem concerned with Sero in the slightest. Like he wasn't a threat. What all was this one hiding in that head of his? Some sort of fool proof plan perhaps? If he did though it wasn't clear to Sero just yet. Surely he didn't plan to sit up there and ignore a threat. For now he focused on the hidden hand signs. Finding time while the young man talked. Tiger -> Rabbit -> Boar -> Dragon -> Monkey -> Dragon -> Dog -> Dragon. He could feel the katon gathering within him. Soon.

Sero would see the tiger seal and already knew another clone was coming. So he intended to fight from a distance and tire Sero out? How amusing a thought. It would be a shame if his equipment melted to his body in an agonizing death. Already he could see steam rising off of it from the last jutsu. Still it held up well against it. Either way Sero was going to need to use stealth and surprise until he broke through. For now he slipped down his clones leg as the clone dropped and shifted into an advantageous angle. This jutsu was massive but it was good to keep it in a straight line. He waited until the clone rushed his own and released it. Feeling the nine chakra return to him as the water clone splashed to nothing right before the first sword strike could reach it. Only to find a large dragon head of fire seemingly erupting out of the ground point blank at the Mort clone and powering straight up at Mort himself from only the short distance between them seemingly out of no where. A massive dragon head of flame slamming upwards into the air. Sero himself was already back to liquid form and slithering twenty meters to the right to hide once more next to another large rock. One eye sticking out slightly from his liquid form inches around the rock to look for signs of his opponent.

The dragon head would leave a haze of heat in its path as it had a tendency to burn so hot anything it touched turned to ash. The heat from it as it faded into the sky mixing with the moisture and rapidly forming unstable storm clouds in the sky. Thunder cracking above them as a shadow cast over the burning battlefield. Thunder threatening to break way to lightning. If Mort had survived the last attack he would want to get out of the sky soon. Where there was thunder in Kumo soon lightning would follow. And being a flying metal man would not do him any favors. Sero had considered this when he used to high heat jutsu so close to such a huge water source. The second jutsu was even known for forming storm clouds. The flying metal man was about to have an issue if his armor survived. Sero wasn't just using the terrain but nature itself.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Wed 23 Sep 2020 - 2:56

The clone was briefly confused when they didn't feel their swords hit the water clone, but it didn't last long as they were engulfed in flames. Immediately after, with just under a second to react Mort would fall from the sky, but not from his own choosing. No, his flying technique was broken from the shock of his clone being incinerated and the pain of said clone, causing him to fall. Thanks to this he avoided the draconic flame attack as his body went into free fall, and he would hit the ground with a solid thunk. His armor absorbed all of the impact, but once again given how it was loose he could feel some pain again as he hit the ground a little hard. He would lay there for a few seconds as his brain processed the pain. The second technique pulled away the residual heat of the first, though while he wasn't smoking anymore he was still warmed then he'd liked, better warm in this cold environment then chilled though. He'd think to himself, 'Geezus, You fight with a clone, you get a clone. Least I didn't get burned.'

Looking up, he'd take note of the surrounding weather, but he wasn't worried. No, he knew the signs for when lightning was about to strike someone, and could easily move if needed. Forming the Horse, Tiger, Ox, Snake, Monkey, and Ram signs, he'd turn invisible by using the transparent Escape Technique. It was something he had practiced before, but he hadn't seem much use for it in combat give he was limited by how fast he could go. He couldn't even fly with it given that the air would disturb the technique, though he had slowly been figuring out a way to get around that, it was slow going, just like his speed. He'd then get up and slowly make his way to where the water clone used to be, taking advantage of the burnt ground to hide his footsteps, as while he couldn't move fast, he could still be careful with how he moved. If it was a water clone like he suspected, his opponent couldn't be that far away, and perhaps that could be a good starting point to search for the hidden Hozuki. Hopefully going invisible would trick the Hozuki into giving up, or at least give him enough time to spot wherever this water boy was, as even with him avoiding the attack, the heat from it was something he was sure was going to kill him if it hit, or at the very least severely main.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Wed 23 Sep 2020 - 13:54

Sero was able to watch as the figure fell from the sky avoiding the fire attack entirely. Landing underneath where he was before suddenly he faded from vision. Well now that was going to be an issue. No longer could Sero track their position. He watched for a couple of seconds before contemplating a new strategy. Something was already stirring within him at the challenge. The thunder boomed overhead and the sky seemed to crackle with energy. Slowly a few droplets fell before suddenly rain began to fall upon the mountain. Not enough to reveal either of their positions but puddles began to form everywhere. The sky cracked again before the damn crashed outwards. The valley below filling with water of incredible depth. Any living creature below being swept away in a powerful torrent of water. Tree's ripped up from the ground with solid pieces of the dam being pushed around under the water. It's heavy waves crashing and ensuring that anything that was within it was more than dead. Which gave Sero an idea. So he would move quietly from puddle to puddle behind rocks to maintain his hidden position further up the mountain by about ten meters. Regaining the high ground he hoped from wherever his opponent was. Still careful to avoid any of the trees now being put out by the rain and being above any rocks. Hopefully the metal man would attract any lightning in the area but Sero wouldn't take the chance.

Forming his hands and face from behind a rock Sero would begin to form hand signs again. The jutsu he had in mind covered a massive area so if his opponent was still in the area he would get caught in it and dragged away into the torrent of the broken damn below. Armor or no escaping the flood from the broken damn and the jutsu would be difficult. Especially weighed down. Quickly Sero formed the hand seal for Snake while remaining hidden. As soon as he was done he would shift just to the side of the rock to release a huge torrent of water. Not aware of his enemies position but from thirty meters away a tidal wave covering a huge section of the mountain they were on would burst forth from Sero's mouth and wash away everything down into the surging water from the dam at B rank speed. He had been careful to be above so as not to get washed away himself.

If he could not break the armor...he would drown the man in it.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Fri 25 Sep 2020 - 12:53

'Damn, this rain might actually be a problem.' Thankfully the rain wouldn't disturb his technique, though the puddles that'd soon be forming would cause some issues. He could hear the water from the dam speed up a little thanks to the rain, but it wasn't overbearing or close enough that his hearing was impaired. As he slowly moved back up the side of the mountain back to the location of the last attack, his eye would catch something as he made his way there.

Water didn't flow uphill in these mountains, at least, not under normal circumstances. It was brief, but thanks to the angle of the slope he saw a liquid move upwards before it disappeared behind a rock, and now he had a better idea as to how his opponent was working. problem was with the rain and how it had quickly moved behind a rock, he had lost sight of his aquatic(?) foe, and he'd just need to hold out as he moved his hands closer together to deal with whatever attack came next.

And there it was a few seconds later, farther up the hill he could see the large torrent of water that wasn't natural for the range to form, and he'd act. The tiger seal would be formed next to instantly as he had moved his hands closer, the sight of the wave forcing him to drop his stealth technique. The clone would form next to him on his left, and while it would preform a simple Passing Typhoon to get rid of the weather that had formed, the real him had a different plan. Recalling the ninja he had encountered back when he hadn't properly had the swords, they had used a wind technique to somehow hold chairs in place and then launch said chairs at him. At the time he had no idea what technique she was using, and technically he still didn't, but he had run into a similar jutsu that could do what he needed to do now.

Holding out both of his hands the outer v of his eyes lit abaze with chakra. While one wound need actual chakra sight to see it, he could feel the heat of it as it felt similar to Body Elimination Chakra, though it wasn't hurting him. From the palms of his hands a wind vortex formed in front of him, the Sickle Weasel. Normally he'd have to use signs, but the swords gave him a way to bypass that little issue. The vortex then started to suck up the water launched down the mountain, coalescing into a large water vortex. Slowly he'd have the water lifted up as the now-waterspout went up into the air, and then diverted it off to his right, forcing the expelled body of water to go down the side of the hill and into the broken dam. To a commoner it probably look like an act of god. For Mort and Id, it was just a Windsday.

The clone would begin climbing up the mountain as it looked for any suspicious large puddles and would stab them with a copied WS sword, trying to suck up any chakra that may be inside them as soon as they were in the strange 'fear field' this man gave off. "You can't keep this up forever Kaguya. Sooner or later either you will run out of chakra, or I'll figure out a way past your defense. Either way you can only hide for so long." A small bluff. Sure they knew thanks to his bone he was a Kaguya, but excluding maybe the mist there was no outward signs of a Hozuki. Hopefully the bluff would work, but it was what they had to work with for right now. Mort himself would keep his distance from the origin of the Suiton source. a good 40m from the origin point as he watched for spooky ninja water.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Fri 25 Sep 2020 - 15:28

Sero would watch as his attempt to kill this man once more failed. The entire plan being ripped apart as the wind howled and ripped his wave and the storm in the sky apart. Threatening to blow everything away short of some puddles of water left over. Despite the surge of water ripping apart what was left of the damn and dooming anything below as his jutsu was redirected now the mountain looked almost peaceful. There were the burnt remains of some trees around the area but the fresh soak had put out all the fires. Mort stood there unharmed as sun broke through and lit up the mountain. It appeared as if the hero had dispersed all the demons efforts and now held the lead. He stood there as a clone formed next to him once more and even retreated back to a safe distance. All of Sero's altering of the environment to his benefit faded away and for some that may have meant a loss of hope. For Sero he just felt irritation and frustration. How difficult was it to kill one man? These games where he sent clones and stood back from harms way merely postponed the end of it.

As the clone approached Sero remained still. A puddle like the others around him. He could feel something else though. A power deep within him. A well he had yet to tap rising to the surface as he let his own anger rise. A whisper in his mind demanded he let the beast help. It demanded he use that power and end this foolish game. He could feel the urge to reach out and touch it. So burning hot within him. The five tails stirred and the aura of fear surged as Sero felt himself reaching into it inwardly. Feeling the heat of the chakra flow touch his finger tips and then letting the power of the Bijuu aid him. It was the first time he had touched the chakra and now....now the combination of two beasts would unleash upon the world here upon the mountain above the destroyed dam. If the wind that rid the mountain of the storm had been an act of god now a devil had risen. The fear aura burst over the mountain like a pressure pushing down on the living. Sheer pressure that caught the breath and spread panic in the eyes. Color seemed to fade from the mountain despite the storm being gone. Now a devil fought a god.

From behind where the clone was stabbing at puddles Sero would quietly weave hand seals. Rat, dog, tiger, scorpion and then adding snake to the end to amplify it. From the puddle directly behind the clone a fifteen meter long bone tail covered in blades along the sides 1.5 feet in length would lash out at C++ speed with B rank cutting depth. Attempting to wrap around the clone and stab through it repeatedly in one quick swirling motion before jerking back the opposite direction and if successful ripping the clone to pieces in a matter of a second. From the puddle Sero would emerge as the pressure poured out of him. Ice blue eyes turned to look upon his enemies as it reflected some new power there. The games of hide and seek were over. Two beasts had come to the same mountain and the mountain would not survive them. The tail would dig into the ground after and launch Sero down the mountain at C++ speed. As he flew through the air about twenty meters he formed the hand seals with his free hands. Dragon, Dog, Snake, Rat, Rabbit adding snake and Tiger->Rabbit->Dog to it before forming a triangle with his hands and pointing it at Mort.

As Sero landed twenty meters away he would land in a crouch with his tail being used defensively to curl around him leaving just his eyes watching. Those cold blue eyes that promised only death would look to Mort. His target that he was destined to destroy. His palms touching the ground as he did. For what was about to happen the mountain could not survive it. The entire mountain began to shake for all the power of the five tails poured forth. From the ground a massive bone snake fifty meters long covered in two foot long blades all along its length would erupt forth in a shower of stone and dirt between the two. The section of mountain they were on splitting as the ground beneath Mort began to fall towards the depths of the water below. The giant bone snake did not seem to care to touch the ground as it's massive body flew. Like the snake that wrapped around the world and hurled giant waves within entire oceans it's shadow would block out the sun above Mort as it seemed to seek him out directly. Like it could see him despite having hollow eyes. It chased him a C++ speed as it flew. It's massive body seeming to have lost no momentum.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Sun 27 Sep 2020 - 2:12

The surge of fear that emanated from the clone target would be the first any only warning Mort's clone got that something big was going to happen, but it wasn't enough. The first strike would do the clone in, as while the main body had impressive armor, the clone was still limited by the technique itself. Mort prime would unconsciously bring up his left arm as he felt the new wave of pressure came over him, almost like he was trying to protect himself even though there was nothing to defend against using his arm. Maybe to his opponent he was a god or angel who had awoken a devil, but Mort didn't see it that way. In his eyes, he and his opponent were just human, nothing more. Even so, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had awoken something dangerous given the newfold pressure on his mind.

He'd briefly make eye contact with the Hozuki as they flew through the air, and saw the beast within those windows to the soul. He had backed up five more meters as the man had jumped, trying to keep his distance, but he wouldn't make a new clone. No, instead he take up he'd take up the kendo stance, but their opponent would see that it was different then the one his clone was using earlier. No, while his opponent promised death in his eyes, Mort invoked the shimigami's name as he took up the advanced form of Kendo: Zanjutsu. It was a stance he had been honing once he officially became the Seraph of Swords, a style that would allow him to not only reap the benefits of the original sword style, but also allow him to become harder to track, as he was still barred from learning Kumo's strongest fighting style. drawing both of his Weaknessless Soaring Shortswords, he'd grip their hilts as he stood firm against the storm, a small flow of chakra covering the blades as they increased the size of the blade's reach while not adding any notable weight. This was a properly serious fight now.

"Be like water. Even though I, Mōtimā, may die some day without fulfilling all of my ambitions, I will have no regrets."

The flow of chakra from his fighting style would begin to properly glow green as the mountain rumbled from whatever technique the man in front of him just did, but he'd stand his ground, his stance firm as he radiated fear. He had never fought a foe that couldn't be conventionally hurt, and every time he tried to take chakra it had ended with a poofed clone. Nothing was getting through, and that was starting to take a small toll on him, so he recited his mantra. Sure outside of the impact of the fireball having a bigger impact on him then it had any right to do to him was a pain, but he had to try something, and as long as that tail was active he most likely wouldn't be able to put the seal on him.

"I did what I wanted to do and what I've done, I've done with sincerity and to the best of my ability."

The ground burst open, the bone serpent would appear, a large beast of a jutsu that could probably be mistaken for a bijuu-like being. In order to kepp his position he'd take flight once more, but he wouldn't go any higher then a few inches as he watched the beast fly up into the sky, letting the ground below him continue to fall as he had no means of stopping it. He'd reverse his grip of the swords, not wanting to lose them for what he was about to do next. He'd then swing his swords to the opposite side of each other, creating another vortex of wind as he channeled the Sickle Weasel Technique through the swords themselves, holding his fingers out to control the gale of wind to capture the serpent.

"You can't expect much more from life."

The vortex, just barely large enough to contain the Ossein Ophiuchus, would hold the beast in place just like it did the water before it. The wind would cut and slice into the bone, the power of the technique just strong enough to do damage to kaguya bone in it's current stage. With one final downward swing of the right sword, the vortex would implode on itself, taking the bone serpent with it. Mort would just continue float in place to watch the Kaguya, waiting to see what he would do next.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Mon 28 Sep 2020 - 3:14

Sero could tell the stance was built with confidence. Even in the shadow of this beast of bone ripping open the mountain the enemy did not falter and Sero was done assuming his attacks would end this fight. As soon as the mountain ripped open Sero was already preparing his next attack. The bijuu slowly pouring out its power and gaining ground for control little by little. It's chakra being used heavily as Sero focused his power into a full frontal assault. As the big bone snake was being battled with a wind sword technique Sero was using the moment to form a series of hand seals. Bird, Ox, Sheep - Tiger->Rabbit->Dog -Snake - Dog, rabbit, dragon - Tiger->Rabbit->Dog - Snake . As the giant bone snake was ripped apart massive barbed hooks began to pop up along the bone tail. Which would reach out in front of Sero and spiral while pointed at Mort. As if being used like a scope with Mort in the center. Sero watching through the coils as he pointed his right hand with the pointer finger directed at Mort and the thumb up. He would focus the Bijuu chakra into the two jutsu as he maintained his tail. The aura of danger rising.

The bone bullet would fire and enlarge the moment it left his finger. Instead of a small bullet the piece of bone would enlarge to about the size of a man as it passed into the spiral of the tail and caught Sero. Bodily dragging him up to the flying Mort behind the bullet at C++ speed. If Mort shifted from his position to avoid the bullet by a large portion Sero would fire a second massive bullet to cut off his escape direction. And a third in rapid succession to cut him off again if he juked in a different direction. His finger constantly pointed at Mort to predict these movements and cut off escape. Any bone bullets that missed would fly into the sky before dropping like small meteors and crashing into the mountain with a small plume of destruction in the distance. He doubted that he would actually hit Mort with one but the goal was simply to get close. To engage this flying man in close quarters and drag him down with Sero. The bullets were merely a form of transportation to the flying one and used to cut off his escape. If one did hit it would be like getting hit with a flying truck.

Once Sero followed the bullet that hid everything but his face and right arm from view as he used it for partial cover as well he would release it at the last second as it brought him within five meters of Mort. His fifteen meter long barbed, bladed bone tail swiping at Mort in an attempt to wrap around him like a boa constrictor and bring Sero around behind the man. Sero wasn't strong by any means but he had leverage from this position. If he could get this close the B rank power of the blades and the B rank hooks on the tail would push between the spaces all along the loose armor. Finding weak points and puncturing through as Sero would use his leverage with both hands to yank back on that huge hat and attempt to Force Mort to look up at him. Hoping due to the sheer weight of the two of them and the fifteen meter long bladed, barbed bone tail would begin dragging them down towards the water. But there was one more thing he would try. If he could yank Morts head back his jaw would extend out. His face turning into a nearly transparent black water as it looked like his jaw unhinged. His legs would fade from his body as hozuki water erupted from his mouth. Now Sero had no legs but his hozuki partial body would pour violently at Morts face. Entering through his nose if the mouth closed and forcing it's way into his opponents lungs and eyes.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Tue 29 Sep 2020 - 13:43

Mort would catch sight of the last handseal used by his opponent as he watched the barbs grow on the tail. He'd quickly put his left sword away to free up his left hand, as he was getting a better idea on how these blades worked. Using two swords was fine, sure, but he noticed that much of a chakra difference when using either 1 or 2 swords, so having a free hand would serve him better, and if he really needed it he could just use Mountain Gale to pull it back out. He'd then pull out both one of the Five Element Tags as well as a small scroll with an enclosing seal on it, made back when he tried to fight the woman with the strange bird. He had tried to use it several times before, once when fighting Ryuko, another trying to catch a fish, but every time it had failed him one way or another. But hopefully it would work this time, as the tail was a threat he couldn't ignore.

Once the bone bullet was launched he would watch as his opponent would take hold of it, and once again Mort would not back down. Instead, his green eyes turned purple once more, but more would happen as he properly unleashed the full presence of his Id, and once they both were within 10 meters of one another, Sero would feel Mort's primal presence just like he had been feeling Sero's demonic one. Mort could feel the mental pressure himself, causing a lot of the info he had gained to go temporarily dormant, but it was still there, he could feel it. He just couldn't access it, not that he needed it for what he was about to do.

While he would move slightly to the side as not to be hit by the bone bus, instead of dodging the bone tail with it's many barbed hooks, he'd inject some chakra into the scroll with the enclosing seal to store the tail instead of having to dodge it, negating it from wrapping around him and digging into his armor (and by proxy sero trying to drown him). Then without missing a beat he'd try to slam the Five elements tag into his opponent's chest and sent chakra through it, using his high coordination to try and avoid any attempts Sero made at stopping him from applying the seal. If his pre-mental inhibited self was correct, as long as the seal was activated either touching or in his opponent's body, it shouldn't matter whether or not their body was water at the moment of activation, as the water was still 'their body'. If this all worked and the 5 elements seal knocked out his opponent, he'd catch them before they'd fall, as they'd probably die from the impact, and while Id would be fine with that, but Mort wouldn't.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Tue 29 Sep 2020 - 22:50

For some reason his opponent was much more difficult for Sero to see but still he stood there holding his ground. Beyond that the man had put away his swords and pulled out a scroll and a piece of paper? It was too much of a challenge to see what it was but such things held one suggestion. Either he was planning to summon, blow him up or use a seal. Any of the above required some prep work. This opponent was dangerous and to be respected. He didn't wish to lose to this man. This being who had brought him glory in battle. He didn't wish to lose the ground he had gained inch by inch against this man. Such men who were so dedicated to their crafts...who held such items of power were not to be taken lightly. Truly Sero held a new respect for Kumo without even knowing the limitations placed upon such a being in this place. He knew nothing of the lack of mental powers allowed here. He knew nothing of the enemies true power he could not access. He only knew that he needed to be prepared for whatever those scrolls may be for.

So even as the bullet began to yank him forward Sero was already preforming the tiger seal. He would need something to buffet him against whatever attack was coming. He would need to be prepared if he was to be in close combat. Explosion, seals, or summoning he was already forming the hand sign before he ever got halfway too the man. However that sensation of being limited only increased. Some primal sensation ran through him even before that scroll sealed his tail. Like a beast his equal or perhaps even greater than his current self had been awoken in this fight. However the water clone burst forward from Sero directly in front of him as Mort launched forward to slam the seal into his chest. Catching the clone instead and instantly wiping it out. The burst of water was only the first to hit Mort. At the speed Sero was going with Mort having attempted to slam a seal onto him Sero bodily slammed into him and liquefied. His liquid body quickly slithering with the momentum under the loose armor through the neck line and small of the back to slip to the middle of his back inside of his armor. A position most would find impossible to reach.

From there because the armor had been hastily put on Sero had just enough room to make his hands solid and form a series of hand seals. For Mort it would feel like hands were pressing against the center of his back under his armor where reaching Sero would be truly difficult in time. Dog, Rat, Rabbit, Bird and then snake. A technique he had used once before. Thirty bone senbon would emerge from Sero with no where to go but into Morts back. Amplified by the focused amplification technique. These senbon would act like a claymore had gone off inside of Morts armor. Thirty bone senbon forced by the A rank armor to have no where to go but into Morts back at B rank power. He truly hoped it did not kill this man. He liked him. His power was to be respected even if Sero had no idea that had Mort been truly unleashed Sero would never have made it this far.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Wed 30 Sep 2020 - 23:43

    {OOC: Judgement was called in, Sayuri declared Mort would be able to avoid the clone; not auto hit with the seal}

Mort was so close, they could feel it! As they brought their hand closer to their target, they could see something watery thing form from Sero's chest, and while it was quick thanks to the speed of which his opponent was flying forward from, he'd had prepared for this to possibly happen. His speed and dexterity were quicker, allowing him to move his hand, arm, and body in time to avoid whatever it was attempting to hit the seal and continue to try to place said seal as he intended. If successful, the tag would glow as the chakra would pour into the Hozuki, the seal forcing the man to go unconscious and be unable to take hydrated form, the seal locking down the Hydrification technique without Mort realizing that would do it and securing his victory.

He'd try to catch the body with the hand he placed the seal with, but instead he was met with the man turning blobby. He'd try to catch the thing several more times, each time his hands going through the tagged blob like it was...well...water. This had to be the Hozuki part of how he was avoiding damage, as they couldn't get his hands to hold him. Eventually though, he'd have to pull back or else he'd splatter on the ground like his opponent was about to-oh wait no he just did. The body would fall into the snake-made crater of the ex-mountain, and slide into the rapids of the broken dam below.

"Hah, We...we did it. We actually did it. I hope to whatever god is out there that he isn't dead, but holy heck I won."

The seal that he had placed on his opponent probably wouldn't last long, as he had applied it through a tag, but if it did, he hoped that next time they ran into each other (if he survived, which by god did he hope that that cool bone-man survived) it would be gone. After all, it wasn't very fun fighting with your power capped, and that monster of a fighter had loads of potential.

"Right. And since Malver's dead...I should probably send the signal that we won."

Aiming his finger upwards, he'd launch a yellow ball of chakra that eventually exploded, signaling that he had won to the Black Hand. Hopefully the fact he won would be enough to also placate said group, at least for a little while.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Sero Fri 2 Oct 2020 - 11:38

Sero would watch as his clone almost collided with the enemy. Just in time for the defense. However both himself and the clone were unable to follow the enemies movements. One moment the target was there in front of him. Almost within reach and the next he was gone. Sero's eyes barely had time to widen in surprise before suddenly they rolled back. Everything going black as a seal was slammed onto his side. The chakra activated before he could register what happened. His form dispersed into a liquid blob as the clone faded away. No longer supported by a stream of chakra connection. Mort would do his best to catch his opponent but catching water with ones bare hands was impossible. Soon enough Sero fell to the depths of the rushing waters below through the destruction the two had caused and was washed away out of sight. The paper seal quickly losing it's hold on him in the depths of the rushing waters. Soon enough Sero would come to and realize he had been dragged away from the battle by the current. A part of him wanted to go back. To sneak up the mountain and find the man.

However as battle hungry as Sero was he was no fool. His chakra reserves were depleted to about half and that connection he had with that other chakra before had settled for the time being. With all the destruction the two had caused there was likely back up on the way. No one missed massive flooding and a mountain being cut apart and blown up. Any bones that weren't sealed with a permanency seal would fade like ash quickly enough so there was no need to go clean up after himself. Still the report would likely describe him to a T. He needed to get out of the country before being confronted again. Less he need to leave bodies in his wake or they figure out how to capture him. Even if he wasn't getting paid for this now the target was still dead. No way he survived all that. So he let the current take him. A faster mode of travel out of the country than walking and he didn't have the danger of drowning. He had one thing on his mind though as he retreated back to home turf. He needed to get faster. He needed to be able to fly and he needed an answer to equipment. One day when he had to fight someone so strong again, he would be prepared.

Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback) Empty Re: Damian's Drainway (ToW Phase 1 Flashback)

    Post by Mort Sat 3 Oct 2020 - 12:04

Soon enough, with the flare having gone off more shinobi would arrive, many being from the Black Hand, and a few from Kumo themselves. Those that had Doton and/or Suiton Release would go about doing their best to repair both the damage to the dam as well as the damage to the mountainside, but it would take a good while for it to return to it's natural state, if ever at all. Having stopped flying and properly taken the time to rest, he'd sit atop the mountain as he was getting yelled at by some jounin.

"Yeah, yeah, I know I should have tried to get a name, but he'd be pretty recognizable if you saw him; a Hozuki/Kaguya mix who radiates fear. I'll file a report on him once I get back to the encampment, but given how I placed a seal on him hopefully won't be bothering us for a while."

He'd continue to watch the roaring waterfall, watching it flow down into the rest of the Iyashi Highlands. He had a vague idea as to where the rivers went, most of them exiting out into the ocean, but a few of them went into the many caverns below, and while this place was free of genjutsu, those caverns were the opposite.

"You know, I kind of miss that asshole's presence already." "You? Missing someone? That's a first." "What can I say? The man spoke to me in a primal level, shame he wasn't able to handle my voice though. Maybe next time though.

    {Exit, Black Hand Victory}
