Mission Goal: No matter how great a city, even if crime levels are non-existent some idiotic group will always try to change that and start forming small gangs. One such gang has been formed in the back-alleys of Kirigakure. Locate them, and stomp them out to the last member, killing is acceptable but capture and reformation is preferred as they are only minor criminals.

Satori had offered to bring Miyu along for another mission after she'd performed so well in the last one, well, minus losing her limb. But she'd learned from her mistakes and made some substantial growth thankfully. Satori was now waiting for the girl to show up near the gates, they had a new mission that he'd acquired for them both.

Apparently, some locals had gotten together to form a "gang". Just a group of thugs getting on their feet that thought, for some reason, it was a good idea instead of becoming ninja themselves. Satori idly shifted his footing as he examined the paper in his hand dictating the basic information.

"Last sighted in the slums near the back-alleys, huh?" he pondered more to himself than anything as his thumb tapped the location marked on the map. A low rumble filling his chest in contemplation before his gaze flicked upward as he caught the familiar scent of Miyu's chakra approaching.

Miyu was serious about her training, both of body and emotion. But she was eager to get back to the field and gaining experience. Satori told her of a new mission that would be good for both of them to tag team again.

Miyu would stroll up hearing Satori's signature "I'm thinking about something" hum. She'd throw an honest grin and ask about the mission. While mentally going over how to best challenge herself.

Satori smiled as Miyu approached, tucking his hands into his pockets as the paper was folded away. Straightening once she was close and offered him a smile he nodded once toward the street, a silent statement that they should head in that direction while they talked. The streets weren't quite empty just yet, but it was starting to get dark. Luckily his senses were sharp enough that this wasn't really a problem.

"The mission's fairly simple, we've got a ragtag group of thugs gaining numbers," he explained idly. "A few people of the village have been mugged, one guy was beaten to the point of near death. They're getting pretty bold, too. The latest incident was only a few hours before the sun began to set, so it was still pretty light out. It's how we got a location," as he explained this he pulled out the map he'd been looking at earlier.

Offering it to her, though there was little point with her garbage sense of direction. He was proud of her for even making it to the gate without a babysitter, really. Some improvement at least.

She'd look at the map and ask, "So want to pose as defenseless civies and lure them out? Or should we track them to their hideout and deal with them when their pants are down?"

She'd listen to the reply while looking around the alley way formulating plans and strategies while taking Satori's choice into consideration.

Satori tilted his head slightly as they walked, glancing down at her as they followed along the main street. A low hum filling his chest at her question once more.

"Honestly it shouldn't be hard to just go in as is, they aren't even ninja. At worse, they're decently trained civilian fighters. You could probably do this one on your own, let alone with me," a bemused smile formed on his lips as he blinked and snapped.

"In fact, perhaps that's not a bad idea. I could simply watch over you, and see how you handle it," his gaze slid down toward her. "If things get out of hand, I'll intervene, but if you do well I'll give you a treat. How's that sound?"

Miyu squeed at being told she was being trusted to do this mission with supervision. It was a large degree of trust being entrusted to her, and with the promise of a treat if she did well she turned positively giddy, "Whoohoo! My birthday came early this year."

She wandered into the alley way and sauntered in as if she owned the place waiting to see what would happen.

Satori grinned at her eagerness, chuckling softly before walking a few steps behind her. Relaxed as ever as he glanced toward her as she just walked in like she owned the land before her. Bemused, Satori said nothing as he clasped his hands behind his back and followed in. Frankly, she was too full of herself. He had said she could probably handle it alone, but her lack of proper combat experience was rearing its head.

Too cocky. Thugs may not be skilled opponents that were natural killers and soldiers raised from childhood like a ninja, but they were hardly pushovers either. Especially for a non-combat type like herself. Still, Satori said nothing as he waited patiently for her to make herself known. In the same way, as they entered the alleyway she would find it empty as if they'd just be lounging around in one specific place.

So, instead, Satori remained behind her and paused. Watching to see how she would progress from this point.

Miyu saw that it was empty looking, all of her bluster for nothing she guessed. So it was time for plan B. Higher ground, and scouting. Activating her Chakra Strings she used both hands to latch on the opposite ends, and lifted herself to near the lip and tried to carefully look across to the opposite side then hers to see anybody, if not she'd get to the roof top and look scout.

If she saw someone she'd wait to see what they'd do with out being spotted hopefully.

Satori watched with a bemused expression as she quickly realized no one was within the alleyway, and instead straightened up and quickly made the intelligent decision that she needed information next. Latching onto the walls and launching herself up, Satori followed easily as he walked up the side of the wall instead, hands clasped behind his back. The next situation would decide how far along she could go. He couldn't wait to see how far along she could develop her process of thinking. She had her oddities and social problems, but that didn't mean she couldn't evolve past them.

Once he came to a halt at the roof of the building he watched her carefully as she examined the area around them, giving a low hum of thought without comment. Her initial landing wouldn't grant her anything substantial in the form of information, however, once she patrolled a bit it would be a slightly different story as the process would reveal a small fire burning in a barrel and the sound of laughter to the south-west. Satori made no comment on it, his hands tucked into his pockets as he waited for her patiently.

This was a test, after all.

Miyu was surprised that their was no one near. Hoping up she looked around the roof and seeing a barrel she walked up to it and investigated it. The fire was small, using detritus as a fuel source. Quick burning and easy matter to act as a fuel. But not something for a long burning fire. So this was most likely recent.

Listening in she heard laughing in the distance, and started stalking from roof top to roof top playing a game of hot - cold, and when she got close to the laughter and voices. Would listen in and try quietly seeing what she could see as she started formulating ideas on what to do next.

Satori followed along patiently as Miyu examined the surroundings, he saw no need to interfere by any means. This was her test after all. Instead, he remained a bit behind her, allowing her to do as she needed instead while she examined the barrel before tracking down the other targets.

Once Miyu began to track down the sounds, she would be led toward a small group of men that were smoking and passing around a canteen that clearly held alcohol of some sort. Each was armed with a long knife, wearing simple black and grey clothing, though leather armor dotted their bodies. Most had scars and were clearly well acquainted with combat, judging by their appearance it wasn't fair fights either. Each held a tattoo on the right side of their throat of a skull lit aflame.

"We waitin' for the boss before we go then, Saiko?" One inquired to the one that held two knives instead of one, the grizzled middle-aged man glanced to the side and grunted before nodding once in affirmation.

"He's gettin' the rest of the boys and meetin' us here, then we hit the market district an' start makin' waves. Kirigakure has gone downhill. Placed used to be known as one of the most brutal an' bloody villages, and now we're a fancy, rich, soft metropolis. Time ta' change that." The other men smirked, nodding onced in agreement as they leaned against the walls of the alley silently drinking while they waited for their boss.

Miyu would listen in on the conversation, relaying the message to Satori. Normally she would set a trap for them at a choke point, but now she was here, she would do things without over reliance on traps. But on finesse and flexibility. Although a treat was riding on this, it was the mature shinobi who thought beyond themselves.

She'd sign,< Big Brother, I need you to be ready to block one exit. I'll hit the other end, but please make sure to make sure none of them escape. Let's get ready to do this. >

When the boss and the others came in she'd grab her claws in some Chakra String and as she jumped down would aim the claws capable of putting a dent in a Kaguya's bones, to sever the tendons in their legs. With her greater than average coordination, the black metal danced with the aim to cripple enough to attempt to make it just the leader and herself before returning the claws to her hand, ending the Chakra String Jutsu, and waiting to see the next move.

Satori glanced at the signs from his perch on top of the building, and tilted his head slightly. He'd told her she should handle it herself, but, if she was requesting aid he didn't mind. Performing the tiger sign Satori held the seal patiently while he waited for her to do as she needed. Watching her leap into it headfirst swinging her claws at high speeds. It was relatively effective. The first two went down without a problem but after that surprise attack, they managed to get their wits about them.

The claws were deadly but only if they hit, and though they weren't ninja, the thugs were no slouches either. The leader especially had managed to avoid them, though it was clear he wasn't the true head of the gang, he was the leader of this little bunch. Satori rested his chin in his palm watching her. She was burning through far too much chakra, and hadn't paid attention to what was being said. He made a mental note to help her with the decision making aspect of things.

If this was only a small branch of the thugs, then there were likely several more inferring on what the man had said. Instead she'd spammed out her techniques and chakra, when less was more. Perhaps she was trying to mimic what he'd done in the forest, but that had been a last resort to deal with a fleeing large group all at once, after they'd gathered plenty of information to know ti was, in fact, the final group. Watching the men spin on her, drawing their blades and focusing he released a sigh.

Oh well. If he needed to intervene to protect her, he would.

< Damnit! That tactic worked for Big Brother, he just blitz merced the bandits. Time for a plan B. >

She yanked off her gi and spun it in a circular motion as she jumped off and to the side. Shooting a spray of senbon at her hip height with one and up at an angle with the other over the bottom one. Covering the alley way with a peppering of senbon.

Her hope was by making a blind she could not only cover her jumping but also give a slight surprise of weapon fire before they thought to duck, dodge, or jump. With the spray catching who she could.

A spray of needles wasn't what the men had anticipated, and the yell of surprise as the gi shut off their view only made things worse combined with their surprise at being ambushed. The leader was smart enough, however, to grab one of them and push himself behind the impact zone. The needles barraged the other, causing him to scream in pain and topple over clutching at his limbs and face in agony while the other mirrored his actions to a lesser extent.

The leader, meanwhile, used the moment where their screams echoed off the walls as a distraction. The moment Miyu was still mid-air from her senbon barrage and about to land, he launched himself forward. Both blades glinting in the light as the first swing of his right blade came down in an overhead swing to cleave right into her left shoulder. His other held back ready to counter or block as required.

Satori remained where he was, watching patiently from his perch atop the building. Eyes following the movements of both easily, he'd intervene only if he needed too.

Miyu was glad that her spray took out the rest, it wasn't fatal, and with a good healing, most wouldn't scar. Well from the second attack, those from the first were now at risk of bleeding out. But if that happened, she'd say a prayer over them and honor their deaths and them for the help their bodies would be giving others.

But right now her focus was on the flying duel wielding thug. She'd quickly raise her hand the blades on her fingers angled to deflect the blade while her other hand did a hard flick that would toss off four of the other hands Ink Blades sending them center mass.

As the blades flew off turning from melee weapons to ranged. Would dig deep into the body and as they wiggled and fell would do even greater internal injuries. As his blade impacted her, she'd be forced down by the force.

Satori's eyes followed the movements carefully, and as the thug's blade was deflected by her claws, though it was still enough power to force her down to the ground, he grinned. The sudden sling of blades from her fingertips wasn't the same as the senbon, but due to that attack previously he'd come to expect long-range assaults from her. His other blade flicked out, parrying most of them but missing one as it dug into his right side.

To his credit, the man winced but didn't go down from only being stabbed one by a claw-sized weapon. Instead, he continued his assault as the blade he'd used to defend switched to offense, flicking out from its new low position to carve a crimson line across Miyu's chest while the one she had deflected earlier now rested back preparing for a counter, or defense as well.

She was doing well, all things considered, but the lack of proper chakra was going to be difficult for her after this. Perhaps he'd help her treat them with Ijutsu and let her rest while he did so. That would help her regain a bit of the energy she blitzed through them with.

Either way this had likely taught her an important lesson.

< Damnit, if only if I didn't over reach, and burn through my chakra before the battle, and had a bit of patience. I wouldn't be in this predicament. So what can I do? What are my options? >

She felt hard pressed with time flowing slowly from the adrenaline pumping wildly through her veins. As she hit down she lunged forward the blade on her thumb aimed at the slashing arm getting close to his body since the real threat was the sharp bit and momentum.

Her other hand would at the same time as the one hand attacked the arm would thrust at his other arm. Aiming to use her weapons effective range of close quarters, to her advantage.

< I can do this! All I need to do is keep close, take any hit that isn't immediately lethal, and toss myself into disabling or maiming him. >

Satori watched as Miyu went at it, and when she suddenly deviated from her initial movements and switched directly into close quarters, it confused the man for a brief moment. That moment was all she needed, as before he could raise the secondary blade in defense her claw lashed through the arm supporting it. The claw dug into his forearm, rending muscle and causing him to curse in pain, dropping the blade and fumbling backward once.

He wasn't a trained warrior. He was an experienced thug, and suddenly taking damage or being surprised from something as simple as a sudden tactic change was the difference. Distracted, off-balance, and with her right on top of him, Satori didn't even blink in surprise.

She'd finish this up neatly. Though what came afterward was what concerned him. He wasn't entirely certain how long she'd go without a proper rest; at least she hadn't sustained any damage. That would make it more manageable. A bit of a break would be well enough, and how she intended to get information out of them would be interesting to see as well. As far as he knew she didn't have Genjutsu like he did for interrogation. So he was interested in seeing what she'd do.

But that would come later. For now she had a man to finish off.

When the thug in shock went off balance she pressed the advantage instantly and rammed her Ink claws in between where the ball and socket joint of the arm began and his collar bone on both sides.

And with blades that were sharp enough to break iron were more than ready to cut through bone like butter. As he continued his shocked back pedaling she'd make a quick slash at his knees disabling him and would yell, "Hey Big Brother! I'm going to not need you to stop his bleeding for me. I have some questions for him."

She'd then rest the back of her claws on his neck, and give a soft smile, "Now there's a path where you answer everything I ask and do it honestly. In that path, you go to jail, think about what you all have done and never do it again, because there won't to a next time. Or you lie, and try hiding things from me, and you will die and I'll simply ask the others as I skin you, harvest your organs, flesh, and bone before the rest. And they will have the opportunity I give you. So ... Do you chose life? Or do you think a Ryuutei would bluff on what they do with the dead?"

Satori glanced over at Miyu as she called for him, dropping down with a dull thud and straightening slightly as he moved toward the pair. As he passed the two on the ground that she had lacerated, he touched them in passing. The pulse of Ijutsu chakra mending their wounds, as well as the two that had been bombarded by senbon, swift strikes knocking them out cleanly. Once this was done he moved toward the man Miyu was currently crouched on, and lifted a hand to grab him by the skull.

His chakra flooded over his body, stopping the bleeding and mending the basic damage, but leaving him in clear pain as Miyu began her interrogation method. Standard fear and psychological attacks then. It wasn't a bad bet considering he was just a thug. They were ruled by fear, it was their way. As such it wasn't much of a surprise when the man caved in quickly nodding several times.

"Don't worry. I'm not a damn fool," he stated through gritted teeth. "I've lived this long. I'll tell you whatever you want," she'd targeted the grizzled elder of the group, which was also part of this success. He smiled but said nothing as he stood to the side, waiting patiently for her to begin.

Miyu thought about it. She didn't know of their we're any others or if there was a plan for if they didn't show. There were a lot of variables, so it was time to whittle those down.

"I'm glad you can see reason, even if my stomach is sad at not getting fresh meat," She'd reply calmly. Both thanking him and reminding him of the implied threat if he liked to her, "So is this everyone? Or did you have more to stir those waves you all were planning if you don't meet up at a specified time?"

Depending on her answer she'd have the start of a plan for what to do next.

Satori leaned back a bit as she talked with him, falling back into the background now that the healing was done as he idly rested on his haunches. The man, on the other hand, seemed to have no issue backstabbing his friends. He'd lived long enough to know how these things went, he didn't favor the idea of losing his only remaining good eye.

"We're a group of twenty-eight, boss's name is Zuko. Don't know his last name, didn't matter. He's started to gather up alot of our boys and building a proper gang, wanted to make a big move on the market today and make enough ryo to get out of here and start our own real black market investment. Make it big." A grin split his lips, though it lacked humor. "Ain't gonna work out clearly, but it was a good plan. He's got about four others around my level. He's better than us. The rest are all new blood like those poor sods you downed easy." As he explained this, Satori was impressed.

For a non-ninja to gather that many relatively skilled thugs was pretty impressive. The man, this "Zuko" must have a decent head on his shoulders. Not that it really mattered in the end. He was going to be jailed, or killed tonight.

Miyu listened to the old man as he spilled everything. And afterwards she backed off him and threw an more honest smile down at him, "Thank you very much for your cooperation, I'll make sure the courts know of it, and hopefully this will be the last time we meet in this kind of situation. Life's short, don't waste it."

She'd turn towards Satori, "So Big Brother, what now? I need to gather my Senbon, and claws. But I'm kinda low on low on chakra, so ... Going to admit I need help. At least if I have four more teams to go up against, and a boss. And we need to get these guys gathered up for the authorities."

She'd learned her lesson on over reaching, but a job was a job. And Miyu wasn't a quitter. She'd hear Satori's suggestions while retrieving her ammo, and reloading her Launchers.

Satori let out a low hum at her question. She was admitting her mistake and wanted help, and he certainly wasn't opposed. He smiled softly.

"It's up to you. You can rest for a bit at least... and if you want I can handle the other groups, so that you'll only have to deal with the boss and whoever is with him. That should be a decent enough test," as he stated this he glanced at the older man that slowly sat up, wincing and rubbing his still semi-injured arms.

"Where's the base of operations?" he inquired simply, causing the man to blink up at him and smile lightly. "Big ass abandoned warehouse about three miles north of here. Hard to miss." This statement caused Satori to grunt, he knew the location. Photographic memory helped quite a bit. Glancing back to Miyu he arched a brow. It was her decision, her chakra pool, her learning experience, her call. If it was a bad one he'd allow it and watch over her.

If it was a good one he'd do the same, but be impressed. It was fairly simple really.
