Foolish. Lily had been foolish. When she went to strike Number 31 she had assumed he was delirious, but apparently he still had a trick up his sleeve. While she was no assassin despite what Nakaba assumed, being caught by the wrist was practically a death sentence in her eyes...yet he didn't immediately counterattack and commented on her knife. Seizing the moment she'd twist her wrist out of his grip and back off, glaring for a second before properly retreating. With his teammate waking up she was at a distinct disadvantage, and it was clear that she had underestimated Number 31. This round was his, and Lily didn't like to admit that fact.
It was clear she was starting to reach a wall. She barely managed to outrun an attack from a massive beast, and now this man managed to outspeed her? Lily knew she wasn't the smartest, replaying the events in her mind she realized where she had messed up: Her stealth was impeccable, yet she had grumbled and in doing so gave a way her location. A simple mistake cost her the chance to sabotage her foes and, were it any other situation, would have gotten her killed. Stupid, stupid! Were this back in Vandal she would have been dead, simple as that. She couldn't even blame it on her skills getting rusty. He simply was better then her in that situation.
For a brief moment Lily would doubt herself. She had joined because she wanted to fight strong foes, but with her reaching a wall like that, she either needed to break through it...or she might find herself losing more then just the fight. She needed to push herself.
Harder.
Faster.
Stronger.
Anything to break that limit of her own body.
Sheathing her knife, she'd run back to Hisha as fast as she could, pushing her body harder and harder till her muscles screamed at her to slow down. She'd push till her skin was flush in a reddish-pink color from heat and sweat. But she'd keep pushing, willing to risk her shot at going to round three because that's what a shinobi did: put everything on the line for the mission. And her mission was simple:
Dominate Number 31 in a fight not only to make him regret ever catching her wrist, but to make him wish he had never become a Ninja. Man couldn't even see that her body was perfectly fit for knives as it was.
