Truth in Light

Ren would arrive back within the base underneath Otogakure, he was tired from his fight with Kimiko but there was still work that needed to be done. The items that he stole from Iwagakure would appear on the table before him, eyeing each of them in turn. He would have to have them all checked out but, some of them looked rather useful. Considering they were within the Iwagakure vault, Ren would send Mei to fetch Tadara for him as he hoped the man could shed light on some of the items. Diana's corpse would be sealed within a scroll thanks to Sienna before he had left her to deal with things in Konoha, which would be among the items on the table. He would position himself in a meditative state on the wall away from the table as Dai began going over the status of everything, as he went down the list; from their success in creating smaller bases within some of the other countries, to Tadara's progress with the new recruit. The last item would mention Raijin's return to the base not long ago. Ren would nod, it was good to know that he could at least trust the man to do as he was asked. Ren would never attempt to try to control the man, but if he could keep him steered in the right direction it would be all the better. Vasuki would be curled in the corner of the room, sleeping not far from where Ren sat. Tempest however had his own room with access to the outside so that he could hunt when he wanted, it made it easier than bringing the food to him or constantly letting him out and Ren knew that Tempest could keep guard over that entrance to the facility considering it was on a cliff over the water.

"Have Mei ask Raijin to join us as well," Ren would state as he closed his eyes and began drawing in nature chakra to replenish himself. The three of them had matters to discuss, the first of which was the discussion of the success on their last mission. Ren would prefer that Raijin and Tadara worked together on the next mission but that was for them to decide, if they wanted to work alone and split the tasks then that was fine with him too, as long as they knew what they were getting themselves into. Working alone would make them more vulnerable compared to working together, though he didn't doubt either one of their abilities to handle themselves. Ren was also curious to learn more about the Iwa shinobi that he had picked up, and what Tadara had been able to learn from them.

The room that Ren was in was a small chamber off of the main hall, it served for the most part as his room for when he was at the base. There was no door to the room, no bed or any furniture beyond a simple floor rug, a table in one corner, and a bookshelf which held copies of the various technique scrolls that they had gathered. A fireplace would crackle on the opposite side of the room from the bookshelf and table, with Ren meditating within the direct center of the room against the wall opposite of the door. Dai would stand by the table as the pair waited for the others to arrive, on the table would sit 2 swords, the Steam armor, a set of armor that looked similar to anbu armor, and a large set of kunai. It wasn't much of a haul, especially compared to what they had gained from Konoha's vault, but it was better than nothing and the Ryo that they gained would help them with their future endeavors. Ren would allow Dai to have one of the two swords, the other one and the 40 kunai he would likely keep for himself due to their unique properties but he would share the kunai if either of the other two wanted some of them.

Gathering Senjutsu Chakra: 72 hours

Tadara would note with one of his bee's Ren's return. They hovered about the cracks and crevices. Little hideaways here and there where they nested. Able to escape to the outside to get what they needed to survive and back to the warm and dry. Soon enough a hive room would begin but for now. For now he was simply using them to monitor the building. Whenever one of his teleporting compatriots would come and go he had set a system to let him know. However the bees did not approach people and avoided being seen when possible. Later perhaps he would create some from clay when he finished the procedure. Setting up traps for intruders and burying them in this hall or that. Perhaps setting it up to collapse specific sections as needed. He had a functional base now and he would guard it when he was present. However Tadara was more than simply the groups chemist and doctor. He was also a highly skilled assassin. Not as flashy as the other two with their large scale attacks but for high priority single targets he was ideal. Politicians were his bread and butter with their usual B to A tier guards. 

Tadara however was working with two nuclear options. Both of which he had little interest in their motives beyond what the light served. Their point value was high and they were interested in others who wished to raise their own point value. Setting a new bar for what he considered to be top tier. Still Tadara himself had stashed away his equipment while their guest was locked up. They were far enough from the room for most sensory techniques to be nullified. If not their sensory capabilities would be what raised their point value first. Tadara would be careful for now not to go near them in case they could share his chakra signature. With Diana dead he wasn't certain who would be after him. Shigo perhaps but he was certain he could handle her. Chen maybe but for little reason other than to establish dominance. Truthfully most who had sensed his chakra signature before were either dead or not a present threat. Still his red hair hung about his face in the usual mess with a red uniform under a fur lined doctors coat. His glowing honey colored eyes would shift as the Bee for Ren's study would land on his shoulder to glance at it. 

Setting down the research he was doing Tadara would without a word move to the study. An alcove filled with valuable scrolls and items. Perhaps the largest collection in the world. From what he understood Raijin used to be a member of the society. A group he was under the impression that sought to gain and spread knowledge. Taking exclusives and artifacts for themselves. Since they had robbed Konoha and now Iwagakure they had a great deal. As he quietly entered the room without a single sound of foot touching ground he would glance at the new collection on the table. His eyes empty as they searched across it. Iwagakure had less than he had hoped but still a significant amount. He did not yet go for any equipment as the staff were given items. Not caring for much of it. Though one of the armors was interesting. Still those eyes would slowly raise to glance to the meditating Ren. Weakened as he was Tadara saw no value in attacking him. He had the opportunity and advantage in the moment but would gain nothing. Instead he would wait as another bee would likely precede Raijin to let Tadara know of his approach. Moving to one side and standing as still as a statue in silence.

Raijin had received word from Mei to meet the rest of the gang. He had already dropped his Sage transformation. Wearing a cloak after a successful mission. He would make his usual sensory sweep of the place and had noticed that they had brought someone back. It wasn't a particularly strong source be interesting nevertheless. He walked into the room and of course Ren and Tadara were present. Raijin smiled and spoke to them, "Job well done everyone. Now whats next on the list." His tailed beast had been acting weird lately. He had already achieved a bond with Kurama. But he was acting ravenous again. Something was going on and he was directly influenced by it. There was some more tools from Rens never-ending armory. There was Kunai and armors as well. He would let Ren explain what they were.

As the two other men would enter the small room Ren would finish his meditation, standing he would look upon the two of them before to the table. Moving over to the table, Ren would pick up the scroll he had set down, twisting it in his hands. "This scroll contains the remains of the former Tsuchikage, my payment to you Tadara. Not by my hand, but proof of death all the same. Do with it what you will, but see if you cannot probe her mind and find her secrets. The vault of Iwagakure was bare of most treasures, what few items are here is all they had. While I recognize the Steam Armor, the other items are a mystery although the other armor seems to be similar to that of the Anbu. Tadara, I was hoping you might be able to share some insight on the items. Perhaps after your examination of Diana, we can discover the location of the other treasures the village had." Ren would state as his eyes returned to Tadara as he held out the scroll, giving the other man the time to look over the items that sat upon the table and explain them.

Once Tadara had finished going over the items, Ren would continue on. "Konohagakure has bought the lie, they know of Raijin's return and they believe I was trying to stop him. The Hokage has given me leave to travel to Kirigakure to warn them of the impending danger so that the two villages may unite to fight against Raijin. The Hokage is currently unaware that this attack goes beyond just Raijin, for the time we will keep it that way." Ren would say with a smirk as he moved to the bookshelf full of scrolls, so close to being complete. "My plan was for Kirigakure to suffer the same fate as Iwa, however while the Hokage did not openly question me, he is suspicious. If we tried the same truck in Kirigakure, he will not believe it a coincidence, so there is a slight change to the plan. Raijin while I am gone to Kirigakure, I would like you to take a trip to the land of Grass. While we already have their secrets, rumors have it that the blood prison is host to a few treasures of their own. We have no information about the land, so you will be going in blind, use caution. Dai was able to setup smaller bases throughout some other countries, ensure you get their location information from him before you leave in case you need them. After you deal with the land of Grass, begin attacking the minor nations that Kiri controls. We will see if we can draw their attention." Mei would enter the study with a tray carrying three crystal glasses, each holding sake within them. "Ah yes, to celebrate our latest success." Ren would add as he motioned to her and grabbed a glass, "speaking of which. Tadara, how is our guest?"

Tadara would look over the items placed on the table. An impressive collection for the light. Combined with everything else they had it was no surprise the amount of power the other two had amassed. His eyes would shift to the wall of scrolls and then back to Raijin. All of this was useful to him for raising his point value. The entity sealed into his neck was its own advantage later on. The tools he had gained had raised him significantly. Still he would let his eyes shift to the table. The scroll held the majority of his attention briefly. Diana was dead within it. Sealed and preserved. He would make time after this meeting to dissect her. Though delving into the deads mind was ill advised. Besides he was certain they had collected more than she ever had. He doubted sincerely she had hid much elsewhere. However he would need to try as soon as he unsealed the body. The brain may still be partially alive if the space it was in was preserved in space and time. Entirely possible as he had never known anything in a scroll to degrade. However the organs he would collect quickly and preserve in the lab. 

His attention would turn to the equipment he was asked to examine. A hand reaching out to touch the fabric of the armor. Durable and flexible...the way it slid in and out of view was also incredibly interesting. He noted this and would consider testing it later with....wait he had some knowledge of this armor. Masaru had been a danger to him and so he had studied what the man had been famous for. Towards the end of his career he had an armor that matched this general description. If he recalled correctly it worked in conjunction with one of Iwa's exclusives. One that suited an assassin like Tadara. He would need to test his hypothesis but if he had what he thought he did. His point value would sky rocket. He would need to lay some claim to this armor. Still his eyes would shift to Ren as he laid out their next steps. There were in truth only two major nations left. Attacking either of them would be far more difficult than Iwa had been and their truth was far more likely to get revealed. They would need more than just the two powerhouses to do anything notable. However luring some of them out instead of the whole village was a good tactic. 

More lands to destroy and conquer. Crippling a major nations economy was a difficult task but manageable if they took their time and did it right. Still anyone of the major players from Kirigakure was a threat. Kaida, Burritsu, Kitsuki, Arisu, Nozomi and Sero were all major threats. He would prefer some of them on his point total. For the threat they were preparing for it would be a pity to kill them. If they could. Out of all of them Nozomi was the largest concern. Her ties to the society made her influential and her power was not easy to question. Still the glass would be ignored. Tadara had no interest in foul tasting sanitization fluids. However he lacked the part of a person for social niceties. Instead he would answer the question posed to him.

"They seem to have lacked any real connection to Iwagakure. Not seeming to mourn its loss but instead remaining calculating and observant. There has been no attempt to escape or rebel. If possible I would like to continue training them and prepare them for the next chunnin exams. If they can last somewhat through it they would be able to gather valuable intel on up and coming high value allies or threats."

Ren brought up new plans for their mission going forward. Raijin was still pretty exhilarated from their last encounter. However, his mood completely changed. Blood Prison. It was disastrous mission even though they were successful. Raijin's first allegiance was too the Society. Split between Nozomi and the remnants still following Jokic. However Rajiin had gone back to kill every single warrior and conquered Grass for their involvement in the Blood Prison breakout. Nozomi and Raijin had deep relations to the prison which she had gone back too.

"While I am usually gong ho for any engagement. That particular place is one I will stay away from. I am very familiar with the Blood Prison. Last I heard, Nozomi had made use of it for the Society. I'm sure you've heard of us. But she and I are..." His voiced trailed. It had been years since they had seen each other. They laid in wait for the next event, for the Otsutsukis to come back. They had connection beyond enemy and comrade. Linked by Honiko through fate. They would meet again. But one thing is for sure.

"Comrades. We still serve the Society. I do not want Nozomi and the Society as an enemy. If avoidable that is." She was his sensei at one point and had never defeated her in combat. Even with his immortality he knew her strength. Plus Honiko would not want this.

"The Kiri Minor nations I have no problem in destroying. If our new ally you speak of Tadara, is strong enough, then the Chuunin exams will be an excellent show."

Ren would remain silent as he watched Tadara look over the items on the table, though the sage tools he did not share with the group. He decided to keep them for himself, at least for now. He was after all the incarnation of the Sage of the Six Paths, why should he not wield the tools that were his by right. It was one of the reasons that he wished Raijin to travel to the land of grass, he had heard a rumor that the other tools of the sage were within the country and wished to add them to his arsenal. He was more than a little surprised as well as annoyed to hear Raijin hesitate at the idea of going to the land of grass out of loyalty to a group that as far as Ren knew died out a long time ago. While he would have preferred that the man was only loyal to the Light, at the same time he respected the man for him remaining loyal to it. It would seem that he would just have to handle that country himself later on, but for now he would dismiss the thought. "That will be acceptable, though perhaps you can show your comrade to the Light one day." Would be all that Ren would reply to Raijin's statement of not attacking his 'comrade' and focusing his attention on Kirigakure's minor nations, he wouldn't mind a shinobi like Nozomi within their ranks. He didn't know too much about the Society, but he did know that they opposed the major villages as well so it was possible that they could find a common ground with her.  Ren would then turn to Tadara, "Prepare them for the exams and enter them under the flag of the Hidden Sound, however I will need you to go in as the leader of the Village, as I will be expected to be a representative of the Hidden Leaf. Use whatever means you deem necessary to conceal your identity, so that your faked death is not unraveled, nor is our connection to Raijin revealed. Iwagakure saw your death at his hands, and I reported as much to Konohagakure. For all intents and proposes it was a success, and I would not wish for that to be undone. My part in this alliance cannot yet be revealed, so long as my position within the Leaf remains beneficial to us. Whenever I return from the Mist however, I would like to meet with the young one and ensure that they will be ready for the exams and are loyal to the Light." It was time that they revealed a small part of the Light to the world to help attract more recruits, however most of their activities would still be considered criminal in the eyes of the major villages so they had to be careful on what the world saw, at least for now. Kudo ranking high enough in the exams would show that the Hidden Sound could produce powerful shinobi to the world, and others would flock to them for training. At the same time if she wasn't trustworthy, she could tip their hand and his grand plan could unravel. Right now, they did not hold enough power to take on Kirigakure or Konohagakure, they had to play their cards right for his plan to be unfold as he wished it to.

Tadara would glance towards Raijin as he mentioned not being willing to go against someone. It wasn't as if he didn't know one of the major players in the world. A previous Jounin tournament champion of all people. It made sense that this was not someone that they would be prepared or willing to trifle with. Though he had not expected this from one of the reputation such as Raijin had. Still he would remain quiet. Even as he was instructed to act as the leader of a minor village he would need to consider a profile. Just changing his face wouldn't be enough. Still he wasn't aware the Chunnin exams were taking minor village applicants. He had assumed they would need to assimilate themselves with a major nation. However for the time being he would simply nod. He was not so foolish as to keep his appearance or chakra signature as it was while pretending to be dead. Such a folly was laughable. Still he would glance back over the items present before collecting the armor Masaru used to own. Looking it over a moment before speaking up once more. 

"Ideally I usually remain in the shadows. From what I can tell this armor will help with such a specific set of skills. I will be claiming it if there is no objections. However I can draw up some official enough documentation for entrance papers and identification. It will take time to establish a new name even as the leader of the village. I will start by altering my appearance and chakra signature. Then I will split myself and have him take over governing the actual village in person. So anyone coming looking for the village and him will find the village is in fact familiar with their leader. Establish our front and keep tabs in the village itself. If we are to build a reputation during the exams. If we can I will have our student draw up ninja cards on those they see and we can review anyone worth recruiting later."

"Of course. It has been quite sometime since I have seen her. But perhaps she shares your vision. But I prepare to leave for the islands. That should stir up the Kiri greats." Raijin was aware of the major powers residing in Kirigakure. They would be aware of Raijins return. However was planning on taking a different appearance. The sudden showing another powerful ninja causing chaos would certainly put the world on its heels.

"I too am interested in the showing on the new guy. I'll be joining the Jounin tournament under a different guise as well. Being the Raikage has its merits. I will be eager to see your progress with him Tadara." Tadara had grabbed the Steam armor which would be much useful in his hands.

If the armor that Tadara grabbed was the only item that the pair of them wanted, Dai would excuse himself from the room taking the rest of the items to the base's vault for the time being. Until there was someone to use the items, they would be safer in the vault rather than just laying around in the room. Though it wasn't likely that anyone would be able to walk into the base considering it was hidden within a hidden village, Ren would appreciate his subordinate's initiative in securing the items. With Raijin heading to the islands to stir up trouble for Kirigakure and Tadara handling the village and their newest recruit, the only thing left for Ren to handle was the acquiring of the Land of Noodles and then heading to Kirigakure itself. He would return to Konoha if only briefly to retrieve Kimiko, but that wouldn't sidetrack him or delay his timeframe for the mission. "I will be heading to the Land of Noodles then, unless there is anything else either of you need. I intend to use the guise of a representative from Kumogakure under the orders of the new Raikage for the acquisition, rather than alert the world that the Light has acquired more territory. For now, all that is known is that the Light is ruling over the Land of Rice and I intend to keep it that way for as long as we can. After I am done in Noodles, I will send Sienna back with anything I acquire from there before heading to Kirigakure to speak to the Mizukage under the guise of warning them of Raijin on behalf of the leaf. I hope this will help draw the attention of those who would choose to oppose us out into the open, though I ask that you be cautious Raijin. While I hope that attacking the islands that surround their mainland will draw their attention and pull some of their stronger shinobi out away from the village, if you are met with too much of a resisting force then a strategic withdraw would be in the best interest. We need not lose one of our members, and we cannot accept capture." Ren would state before dismissing the two that were in his office, unless either of them had anything else to add. Once they were gone, he would head to Tempest's nest so that the two of them could head out for the land of noodles and the secrets that the land held.

Tadara would quietly listen to the two and their missions. He would be building his reputation as the leader of the village hidden in the sound. There was no Kage for a minor village such as that but he would assume he would need one. Governing bodies usually did. Still the two would see themselves off. Though Before they did Tadara would make mention as he watched the servant take items to the vault including the steam armor that Tadara did not take.  He had taken the spectre commander armor. He would of course make modifications to it to make it visibly less noticeable. It had been an item in the vault after all so it would be unwise for someone from Iwa to recognize it. Still he would raise a hand to garner attention. 

"Raijin and myself will be undergoing face and chakra alterations. We will have a different appearance while you are gone. I will go under the name Kiyogi Uso and establish myself as governor of the sound village utilizing fission while you are away while prepping our contestant. This experiment will show if someone trained by the light is equal to or superior to those trained by a major village. A controlled variable if you will. When you return...I hypothesize they will be considerably improved from when you captured them. I also will likely supply them with a drug to use in the event of a difficult fight."

With that Tadara would nod his head matter of fact like and turn with his usual blank stare to return to the lab. Altering the color and design of the armor was doable without actually breaking it down from its purpose. He would set about his work and care nothing for if they were doing the right or wrong thing. Raijin would hopefully retreat rather than fight if he could. While concealing his new identity if he could. The man should be wise enough not to use anything that would link him to his old identity and leave survivors. Not to mention what could be gained by weakening a world power. He would be sure to establish his identity here soon. Still the drug he would provide his would be student would need to be considered. Which stat they would benefit most from and instructions on when to use it. Perhaps some god pills too. They shouldn't be too well known in the world to connect to him directly yet. Not with Diana dead.
