S rank boot camp

Tengoku would sit in one of the lower rooms. He had instructions of where to meet delivered to his protégé the morning with some time to prepare. He had given instructions at their last meeting to be prepared but he wasn't certain if she would take them to heart. He had pushed her chakra reserves before but for now he was going to press her body. She needed to reach new heights to back up her claim. If she didn't get stronger Ren could pop back into the village at any time and if he chose to he would assassinate her. Regardless of how vigilant he was he couldn't be there all the time. She needed to be capable of holding her own against the man. At least long enough to survive. However he would let those thoughts shift to the side as his black eyes with gold crosses for iris would shift around the room. He had selected this room to begin with as it had a few facilities available. Yet no one really ever seemed to use it.  It held a vending machine with healthy foods and protein drinks. There was a water fountain next to it with a raised backing. There was a sensor on that so one could place a water bottle there and refill it over the water fountain. 

The windows around the room mimicked the city skyline despite being underground. The air was thinned out here to replicate the height and put more strain on breathing. Increasing the work out results substantially. There was a ring in the center ten meters  in diameter with webbed ropes around it to softly catch anyone tossed to one side and the ring itself was a padded floor. Around the room were punching bags and set weights with treadmills modified to keep up with more intense speeds. Each with a breathing mask and monitoring tools. There were individual mens and women's bathrooms with showers built into them and a room with a few cots in it to relax the muscles after. In truth this was a facility for training assessments but Tengoku would use it more for his intended purpose. He was going to work out her body to exhaustion and back again. She was going to build up her taijutsu skills with him and work out some muscles and endurance. She could do more and he would show her how. 

Tengoku himself was in a pair of black shorts with red lines running down the sides and the strings tied in the front. A tight tank top would cling to his muscles as his arms were exposed. There were a series of faded scars on his exposed arms but he didn't seem to mind them. His feet were bare for the time being as the gym was perfectly clean. His white hair was tied back into a pony tail and his white wolf like ears stood at attention. He was sitting cross legged on a mat with a clip board in his hands and a pen. Next to him were two already prepared large water bottles in cozies with shoulder slings to carry them around and hang them off any of the machines. Tengoku was a taijutsu expert though so his formed muscles and tall form were ideal for a martial artist.

With much disdain against her face, Hanabi ran through the crowds of people in Konohagakure, panicking on her tardiness. She had been up all night prepping herself with everything today, even having to reorganize some things. With much frustrating, she decided to take the highroad and travel via roof top, making it quicker and easier to get to the training facility. 'Tengoku's going to be so mad....' She thought to herself, some irritation and fear showing on her face. She would definitely get reprimanded for this...


Hanabi soon arrived at the facility, checking in with a quick signature and leaving the receptionist in the dust. Waiting impatiently in the elevator, the air began to get tighter, making it harder to breathe for Hanabi. 'Similar to his gravity release... This shouldn't be too bad...' Her amber eyes focused on the doors, each floor passing by, going lower while she went higher. The ride was a bit lengthy as the facility went higher than most of the buildings here in Konoha. Light began to shine through the top of the elevator, now slowly coming to a stop and reaching the same floor as Tengoku. The doors would open and Hanabi stepped out, her right foot first and then left. Hanabi came in, sporting a black sports bra and joggers that were lightweight but also able to protect her from small scratches if need be. She had spandex under so if she needed to take them off, she could. Her toned arms and abdomen were quite visible, showing some strength progression to her. Unlike Tengoku however, her body was covered in scars, including the one Ren made on to her. Placing her hair up quickly, she began walking towards Tengoku, visibly carrying nothing.

Yet she carried it all. From her stomach to her chest, to her hands, she had implemented everything into her as a fuuin user. Getting closer and coming to a stop, she placed her hand up, open, to kinda slap their hands together and greet the other. If he did, she would simply nod and give him a determined look. If he didn't, she would try and pass it off as a slow stretch. Embarrassing if your sensei didn't greet you in general. "Sorry I'm late. I had some issues prepping but I brought food enough for both of us.. Even though it took my whole fridge and pantry items..." She muttered lastly. Turning around, her back scars more prominent than others, especially a serpent scar placed in the middle of her spine, showed more than the others. Despite it being months, maybe even a year, it was still the freshest out of all. The pinkish hue, the raised scar, it had been treated previously by Peragus but... He wasn't around anymore. Her eyes dulled for a moment, looking to the ground but getting her spirit back up. "Anyway, what do you have planned for me?"

Tengoku would raise his eyes as the door opened. Taking in the vision of his student a moment. She was prepared for a work out but he wondered if she had truly prepared her mind. He had been more gentle with her in the past so likely she was under the impression it would be a simple matter. Truthfully the equipment here was to warm her up and then test her improvement. He would place a hand on the floor and push himself up to standing with a soft push. It looked like a very fluid motion with no struggle to rise. He simply rose to standing from sitting cross legged. He would close his eyes to crack his neck one way and then the other. Opening them to look her in the eye once more. "You are late. So put the food in the kitchen over there. Then return and do some stretches. I had intended to test out your current level first...but we will jump straight into the hard part once you're done." He would state before he would begin stretching himself. He was surprisingly flexible. His foot placing on the wall above his head as he leaned into it. Stretching his whole leg before doing the other one.

Tengoku would go through a series of ten counts on stretches. His arms, back, abdomen, legs and head were all feeling loose by the time she would finish hers. Cramping wouldn't do either of them any good. Still he would go and open up one of the chests in the room. Collecting some twenty pound leg weights and arm weights. Light enough for her but still heavy for D rank strength. He would approach her once she finished and quietly help her strap the weights onto her legs and arms. "You have grown but you still lack muscle. While you can overcome a great deal with speed alone...you need to be stronger. A good balance is important for everyone to master. Taijutsu specialists fall into certain tiers with each of their recorded stats. Constitution, speed, coordination, Stamina and strength. Most of my physical stats are rounded out. However I can also raise them to be primarily A tier. Only my coordination is at the peak of taijutsu capability at S tier. My intentions for you are to be able to reach B tier across the board as a minimal. These weights will reduce your speed like my gravity would until you are strong enough to endure them."

He would finish tightening the last Velcro strap before stepping away. He would move over to the treadmill next. The one with the machines and wiring. "Step up here." He would state simply. If she complied he would hand her the mask that measured her breathing and supplied her with fresh oxygen. Quietly taking the sticky parts off the machines cords. The sticky metal would be cold as it would be pressed one under each of her collar bones and one on each side of her ribs. Sticking there as the machine picked up her heart rate and breathing rate. Marking the speed as stationary. "Now I am going to have you run. As fast as you can on this for ten minutes. Full sprint. Do no stop when your legs or lungs burn. You will complete the ten minutes and then we will hydrate and go over the readings."

Hanabi nodded and went to the kitchen in the room, placing a hand over her chest and pulling out plentiful of bento boxes that could last them about a week if need be. She always made extra in case she didn't want to cook later on. Placing them in the fridge and closing it shut, she turned around and headed back to Tengoku who had been stretching. Her eyes watched him stretched, quite shocked by the flexibility of the man. Hanabi gulped and looked away, looking a bit irate but nothing of importance. 'Man he was cuter as a dog when he was retired... She pouted, quite sad that he was no longer going to be maintaining that form. No feelings toward Tengoku but he did retire as a dog, how could she not want to pet and hold him. With a quick slap on both sides of her face, she refocused and copied his stretching methods, stretching her legs out and arms, mainly her calves and things. She would still tackle the rest of her body..

Tengoku then placed about 20 pound weights on her, on top of the air pressure that she had experienced, blinking a bit and feeling some weight on her, almost as an inconvenience. Heavy but not too heavy but it would definitely hindrance her training. "I see..." She listened to him, hearing of his taijutsu techniques and how everything had ranks. He could raise to A but the goal for her was to raise to B across the board. "You sure I can do this?" She asked while stepping up on the treadmill. Placing the oxygen mask on her face and feeling the cold sticky metal, she would inhale sharply, sensitive to the cold. "Coldcoldcoldcoldcold.." she said in a panicked tone. It would subside after a bit and he'd instruct her to run as fast as she could. Raising a brow, she nodded and awaited him to turn it on and from there she would run by a full B+ speed, not having her boots on. Her hair flowing through the wind and her breathing staying the same for the first few minutes. Though she had not really done any training like this and so the weights began to get to her, feeling sluggish and almost slowing down to a solid B, yet she continued to push herself. Sweat began to drip down her forehead, abdomen and chest, her arms moving side to side as she ran, focused on her goal.

Tengoku would virtually ignore what she did in the kitchen. The food would be gotten to later if she could bring herself to eat. Still he would finish stretching with her before putting the weights on her. When she asked if he was certain she could do this he would smile. Glancing to look her in the eyes with a side glance. His features were handsome at least as he tightened the weights. "It is my understanding that you trust me. If you trust me than you trust my judgement. So when I say this is something you can do it is because I believe in you. So if you trust my judgement then maybe you should believe in you too. Give it a try every once in a while." He would chuckle before helping her onto the treadmill. She would pick up speed as it turned on. Powered by her moving the belt. Still he didn't mind the commentary of how cold things were. Instead he would pay attention to the heart rate and breathing. The machine did all the reading for them after all and spat out numbers. Still he was rather impressed with her speed. Before boosts it matched his own.

Still he would let her continue for sometime. Even when he saw the drop in speed on the monitor he didn't mention anything. At the speed she was going he was more interested in snagging her out of the air should she stumble and get launched. Which he was easily capable of doing. Which was the point. Still he would encourage her to continue. "Don't let it pull you down yet. Keep pushing. You can endure. Control your breathing and your stride. In through the nose out through the mouth. Long steady strides...long steady breaths. If you loose your air you lose your stamina. You need to learn to breath while moving at full pace. If you stop breathing your body gives out faster. " He would state while keeping an eye on it all. He would make her run until she quit or her legs did. However long it took he wouldn't allow her to simply take a break. Instead he would catch her around the waist if she fell or watch her slow to a stop. If he caught her he would set her down to catch her breath. Removing the wires from her gently before looking over the final results. 

"You would be able to compete in most short sprints. Long drawn out battles won't suit you though. Catch your breath and drink some water. Next we move into mixed martial arts."

Hanabi would continue to run, left, right, left, right, in wide leaps, her thighs and calves beginning to burn, still regulating her breathing. Yet here and there, her legs would somewhat give, limping a bit but catching her steps. Her breathing began to shorten, her chest moving sharp and fast as her breathing started to become sharp, feeling almost a burning sensation rise from her chest and up to her throat. Tengoku instructed her to keep running, not to give up and she didn't. She continued, despite feeling the pain. His instructions to breathe correctly, she'd glance to him, her amber eyes looking to his gold crosses, then looking back forward, her breathing becoming regulated again. Inhaling through the nose, exhaling through her nose just as he said, feeling her body become a bit more energized. Her eyes sparkled with a bit of hope, yet... Cockiness got to her. 


One misstep and she began stumbling and fell back, hitting Tengoku as he caught her, feeling his arms around her waist, she would blush just a bit, embarrassed of the placement. Finding her balance again, Tengoku helped her sit down and catch her breath. Sweat dripping down her face and body, she grabbed a bottle of water and gulped some down before pooring a little bit over her head, her ponytail coming undone and falling over her shoulders and covering her back scar. Her eyelashes fluttered a bit from the water droplets that went onto them. "So make the battles quick right? I can do that..." She drank the rest of her water and sat it down next to her. "So mixed martial arts next. What's this next.. Wax on wax off?" She let out a chuckle, joking around. If tengoku chuckled, her eyes would close from the laughter and easily recoup herself. However, if he remained stoic, she'd stop her laughter and nervously chuckle, looking away and then proceed. "So are these some techniques you created?"

Tengoku would watch her drink her water and let her hair down. She had ran but not to the point he had intended. But far enough to experience her legs failing her. It was important that she made it that far after all. She needed to know her current limits. Even as she struggled to catch her breath he would glance over to the monitor. She was fairly peak when it came to speed for most. He knew like himself she could boost further. However her stamina was still low. His own was modified by his understanding of nature chakra and his wolf sage. As well as Roen becoming more of a part of him. They felt like they were bonding now and the monster felt less like a starving beast and one that could be reasoned with. Still he would glance back to her as she laughed. He would smile and let out a small sound of amusement. As one may a child showing off. Still he would move back to her and let her finish the water. Smiling in amusement showing his canines about the wax on wax off comment. 

"Martial arts is rarely as simple to learn as the movies show. No one is entertained by years of training. We will be working on the basics. For now we will work on defense. You have decent offense but when it comes to parrying or taking a hit I don't think that will do well for you. We will slow it down but you can use your sharingan for this practice. I expect you to keep up with me. I will be attempting to lay my palm on you. If i do then you will lose chakra wherever I touch. Simply put you don't have the strength to parry or block a full on strike of mine. So I will be suggesting you try and redirect it. Don't confront me head on but strike to the side and use my momentum to redirect the blow enough to avoid it. Come on...lets get in the ring."

Tengoku would turn and grab the rope. Pulling it down before slipping between it and the top rope. Moving to the opposite side of the ring as he cracked his neck. At her level it should be safe to engage in his base form almost full on. He would slow it down to A rank coord of course but no less than that. This was real training now and she wouldn't be entirely babied. He would reduce his strength to D too. If he palm thrusted her it was going to hurt but not enough to put her down in one or two blows. He was basically slap boxing her at this point. Still he would place his hands on his hips and wait for her to get ready. Taking a breath before avoiding any actual stances. The stances he knew were to increase his striking speed or to increase its power. He didn't need either so he would simply wait for her to acknowledge she was ready before making a deliberately obvious move. He would make the blow a solid C rank strength if she blocked it improperly and simply push through. Throwing her back against the ropes. If she did knock it to the side he would begin a series of attacks all aiming for different points on her torso. Keeping at A rank coordination as he seemed at ease. As if this didn't push him. Any time his palms actually touched her however she would lose five chakra. His inner Roen consuming it.

Hanabi looked to Tengoku, now sipping her water every now and then throughout his speech, eventually finishing it too. When he commented about her physical strength, her eyebrow raised, her fist raising with the visibility of irritation strung along her face. She knew she wasn’t the strongest, especially with what she needed. Still she would set her empty water bottle down and stand up, stretching a bit before following him into the ring. From there, she would slip between the ropes and meet Tengoku within the ring, looking at his stance and activating her 3 tomoe sharingan. Her eyes began to shift, almost like they were evolving but they shifted back to 3 tomoe, as if it hadn’t decided what her new powers would be. It was a rare phenomenon indeed. Still, she would nod, signaling her readiness.


Tengoku would throw a hit to her, her eyes catching up and seeing his movement, her coordination keeping up with his attack speed. She would see his hand move towards her, her forearm able to block and redirect it to the side, following by with another blow, repeating the same. The speed he was at matched her coordination so she could easily keep up with it. Her hands would sometimes grab his wrist and push him away, in an effort to throw him off. With this exercise, it helped figure out a basic way to block and or possibly dodge as some hits she would need to maneuver her body if she didn’t get to his hand in time. Assuming he would have sped up by now, she would begin to struggle, his palms touching her and feeling her chakra get drained slowly, each and every time. It was an issue but nothing major. She could deal with it and Tengoku wouldn’t do any drastic harm to her… right? Still, she would continue to place her forearms against his or simply place her palms against his arms and push it away.

His eyes would watch hers as he moved with ease at her pace. She was doing well keeping his blows from hitting her. Avoiding touching his hands directly. Once one reached a certain point in this world a single touch was deadly. She was hovering just below that level and could surpass it with a little bit more of a push. She was deflecting on his wrists and forearms but it was virtually all she could do to defend. Even with the Sharingan active he did not waver. Watching it tracking his movements and seeing how much of a gap there was. She appeared to be struggling to keep up with her eyes at this level. He would begin to pick it up after a few minutes. Watching for when her eyes slipped and missed his hand just before he would land a touch. Chakra being pulled from her pool each time. Slowly he would build it up to his base level. Reaching S rank coordination he would watch her precious eyes slipping more and more. More chakra draining from her as his hands became blurs. There wouldn't really be pain but exhaust slowly setting in and more slips as it would.

However Tengoku was not yet finished. He was pushing her more now than he had before. She had loftier goals now and the enemies she faced for it were powerful. He would need to press her further. To strain both her mind...body and spirit simultaneously. She struggled with keeping up with Airi. She had struggled keeping up with Ren and fallen behind in both cases. Dwelling more in her own self pity than in the desire to reach them once more. He was prepared to offer her his help of course. He would not have a student die on him easily. His own life would have to fade first. Still he would look more serious now as he pressed her. Taking a step forward as the touches became light shoves. He was pressing forward to conquer her space. To press her against the ropes and give no more outs. His gold eyes staring down into those Sharingan as more and more chakra faded. Soon he would absorb so much at this rate even the sharingan would fade. Still he would speak calmly.

"This is where I expect you to be by now Hanabi. This is the level you will be able to compete with when you leave here.  I will work you to the bone...i will drain your energy and tear you down to build you up again. Because this Hanabi....this isn't even half of what I can do. This is simply base for me. As it will be for you if you can bear it. So grit your teeth and tough it out until you can't anymore. Then we will eat and rest....and do it all over again."

He would state simply. Pushing her into the rope and rapidly countering any attempts to escape in any direction she went. He was too powerful to simply resist. Not as she was now. But this training was to get passed that wall. That point where she was content. She needed to reach deeper and claim that power. Even if she hated him for it all it would do is bring her blood to boil and press her further. She had seen his other forms before....his wolf sage and the Roen cloak...even his gravity. He wasn't bragging. He just wasn't trying. He wanted her to see the gap...and want to close it. To get to that point finally. Just in case he couldn't always be there.
