Ren would be oblivious to the empty glare or what she was going to say before she cut herself off, taking the scroll from her as she told him to memorize it and give it back, he would nod before beginning to look it over. Ren could instantly tell that these were some impressive techniques, though most of them were physical or sealing techniques neither of which interested Ren. There were two techniques that did stand out to him though, the first of course being the one Hanabi pointed out to him, the Hiding in Camouflage Technique. An impressive technique to say the least, using chakra to reflect the light to make oneself invisible, but that wouldn't do against sensor types or those that possessed doujutsu that could see the user's chakra. Ren then say a notation that some, though enough practice, have been known to be able to erase their chakra signature with this technique. This alone could provide some use to him, it was like the ones Anzo had shown him from the hidden stone village, and let him know more about what they could possibly be going up against in their mission to Iwagakure. The second technique that would stand out to Ren was the Heavenly Prison Fire Sword, while the other two techniques related to it were fuuinjutsu and of no interest to him whatsoever, the thought of being able to wield a sword of fire was more than cool in his mind. Luckily for Ren, his practice with the Sharingan had improved so much to the point that he did not even need it active to learn most techniques now, save for the extremely complicated ones. A brief look over both the Sword and the hiding in camouflage was enough for him to have it completely committed to memory, knowing that he would be able to use either with ease in the future.
He would feel the presence of Tengoku first before turning his attention from the scroll to the other man's direction, what he saw he almost thought was someone else. Gone was the appearance of a man held in the station of Hokage, it seemed that Tengoku was enjoying his retirement from the position, if not a little too much in Ren's opinion. His hair a mess, his clothes looked as though they were slept in, and even his attitude when Tengoku spoke seemed much more laxed than the last time Ren had seen the man. It was a complete one eighty from the man that Ren had come to respect so much, sure the man was still in shape and looked like he could hold his own, it wasn't as if he had fully let himself go it was more of a matter of his appearance, disheveled and lazy. Two qualities that Ren hated, even in an informal sense one should always be aware of their appearance, though the look of laziness was really what was most disturbing about it. Ren hated lazy people, especially lazy shinobi. Even though the man was no longer Hokage, he was still one of the strongest in the village. If he is meant to protect the village, it was likely be destroyed before he reached the battlefield. Still, Ren would stifle his own thoughts of the man he once respected and turn on his polite facade.
"Everything's fine here, Tengoku. Lady Hokage has a new mission for Hanabi and me, we are just getting in some quick training before we head off at the end of the week." Ren would reply as he watched, Hanabi toss Tengoku a scroll. Did she call him her to train with them as well or did that scroll contain something else, she mentioned Peragus wanting him to have it. Ren couldn't help but think that he was going to have to have words with that man, it seemed like he was giving out techniques and items like candy to everyone except for him. Not that it mattered really, as it seemed it was still something that was getting passed on to him, but he still couldn't help but feel like his friend was leaving him out of something spectacular. "Are you training with us, Tengoku?" Ren would ask wondering if the question would shake the look of laziness off the other man. Ren would look back to Hanabi in time to see her pull off the Hiding in Camouflage technique for herself, though she appeared invisible to the naked eye, a quick activation of his sharingan and he could easily see where the woman was as he could see her chakra. It seemed she was not able to make it so that it erased her chakra signature completely like was mentioned in the notation of the technique in the scroll, it was unfortunate as it would have come in handy for both of them to be able to sneak through the enemy lines without detection, but if she got picked up by a sensory their infiltration would be all over. Instead of worrying about her learning to hide her chakra signature, he would turn his focus to try it for himself. If at least one of them could do it then that would solve the problem, as Hanabi could appear as a single envoy, with Ren hiding nearby with no one the wiser.
He was able to pick up the fire sword technique and the hiding in camouflage technique with ease, simply by reading over the technique discription in the scroll, allowing him to focus on pushing the camouflage further to conceal his chakra signature completely. Ren would smile as he finished the technique releasing it and returning to view as he would look over to Hanabi. "That scroll is pretty interesting but most of them don't really suit my style of fighting, they are more barrier or physically based. Though I do think you for the knowledge of the Hiding in Camouflage and the Heavenly Prison Fire Sword, I can't help but to ask. Do you have any other interesting techniques that you have learned since we spared last?"
