Team Artifice Fundraising Pt. 2

Missions:

Neo frowns when only Kiyoshi and Nikola show up, so she sets aside the scroll meant for Suzuya. She looks to her side at Ancha when the two other genin are already going out to do their own missions, although she catches sight of the folded Fuuma shuriken that are both tossed in her direction out of the corner of her eye, lifting her other hand to snatch them from the air herself with deft control. She then stops looking at Ancha so she can look over the handiwork of the Fuuma shuriken and then nods with approval before setting them on the bench next to her.

Once the two genin leave, she makes hand signs just for Ancha to see, and the other woman slowly shakes her head. Apparently, Suzuya had not shown up today, and so would not be taking part in these missions for now. Neo pouted, but she knew there was nothing either of them could do. It's not like she had enough time to go down to Suzuya's home and drag him out for these missions; he would simply have to do some missions on his own instead. These were truly missions meant to help her genin to achieve the next rank and to help the village with their funding. Instead, she pats the bench next to herself, inviting Ancha to have a seat, which she eventually does and even starts drinking her own sweet strawberry lemonade while the other two perform their mission.

When they return, she looks at the stopwatch and nods at only having had two hours pass, then she hands out the next mission on the docket to both of them, letting them see that this one is likely going to take half of all of their time for their series of missions. They'll have to work fast, but Neo isn't actually too worried if they "fail". She can just as easily reset the stopwatch and not let them quite know that time had already run out. It was really more to keep them motivated anyway.

After the initial meetup and on-the-job shadowing with Hibiki the gate guard was complete, Nikola had returned to where Neo and Ancha were waiting for him and noticed that Kiyoshi had returned too, but for whatever reason, Suzuya had not shown up today

Interesting...so is it just going to be the two of us doing missions all day today, I wonder?...Oh well, it is what it is, I suppose...

Nikola thought silently as he stood at attention and then when he received the information for the next mission on the list, he nodded to Neo and Ancha silently with his usual neutral and unreadable expression on his face and then headed off to the gates where he was now apparently expected to spend a full shift of guard duty to put the skills he had learned by watching Hibiki the gate guard into actual practice in preparation for any future instance where he might be called upon to serve as a sentry for the Konoha Gates. It did not take him too long to find it as his nigh eidetic memory had allowed him to recall Hibiki's directions on finding his designated sentry post perfectly. So, Nikola reached there and after reporting to Hibiki's superiors as per his instructions on the proper sentry duty protocols, he then commenced his sentry duty training there

So...patrolling...detainment of unauthorized personnel...timely intervention in any other problems that might crop up...this sounds simple enough...but the time...why did we get assigned such a lengthy mission...this will consume nearly half of the allotted limit...

Nikola thought silently with 10% of his cerebral activity that he had kept on standby, doing so while still maintaining 90% of it on active surveillance by calling out his 100 of 180 shokaichu to spread out in a 300 m diameter sensory net around him while within it, he maintained a secondary layer of active surveillance net with 50 m diameter via activating his Sensing Technique which was powered by his innate current level of perceptive development. Thanks to these measures, he was able to pick up on and intervene wherever necessary during this rather long sentry duty shift training at the Konoha Gates. Fortunately, however, there were no major incidents to speak of overall, and he merely had to report back with an all-clear for the patrolling part of the shift and then spend whatever time was left on stamping visitor passports, checking their belongings, and so on. Once that was done, he reported back one last time to his on-site superiors and after getting their approval, he took his leave and after calling back his 100 shokaichu into his body once more, he then headed back to where Neo and Ancha were waiting for him, Kiyoshi, and Suzuya if he ended up showing for these missions.

(NIKOLA'S EXIT)

Hearing that this next mission within their series of time limit trail was going to take six hours, Kiyoshi's heart fell into his stomach. There would be no way that they could complete the other missions before their time ran out if this one was going to take so long. Kiyoshi would not object out loud not show any sign of distress on the outside, but on the inside his mind was in a panic. He knew that this was possibly the type thing that they would face in the future, with time sensitive missions and the like, but even this seemed a little out there to him. Though in truth he really had no idea or not, this was just a basic shift at the gate, nothing complicated or interfering with the other missions they would just have to get through this and hope that they could finish the rest of the missions in the allotted time. He had too assume that his Sensei knew what she was doing in this, or at the very least factored the time of this mission in with their allotted time frame of the twelve hours. There would be no sense in complaining about it and so Kiyoshi would move to the guard house with Nikola do that they could get this mission started and out of the way.

For the most part the mission was rather boring, Kiyoshi would have much rather spent these hours crafting anything but seeing as that was impossible he would pass the time when they were not having to deal with people playing a game of cards. As it was Nikola seemed to have the job of sentry covered his bugs creating a web of alertness that allowed Nikola to know someone was approaching before Kiyoshi could even see them. Kiyoshi had to admit that having such abilities on his team was a huge advantage, and of course would allow for slightly more slacking off on Kiyoshi's part as he played cards. There wasn't much activity at the gate over their six hour stay, fairly quiet all and all. Seven exits all holding the appropriate paperwork, 3 entries also holding the appropriate paperwork which made his and Nikola's job a lot easier as they didn't have to search for anything. At one point Kiyoshi was pretty sure he heard one of the other guards say something about a foreigner, but it was being handled by the higher authorities and did not require the involvement of two genin. Though he would be disappointed to not be able to witness the process of when someone from another village arrived, as far as the protocol and what they should do. Kiyoshi ultimately understood, after all what if the foreigner had come to harm the village what good could the two of them really be able to do. Once their time elapsed Kiyoshi would follow Nikola back to Neo and Ancha to report in another successful mission, his only hope being that they would still have enough time to do the other missions before Neo's stopwatch reached zero.
