As he tried to focus on the events that brought him here but would only be met with a headache the more he tried to focus. All he kept seeing was the same demonic image again and again followed by the sound of bones snapping and then nothing but blackness. He would try to move to get a better look around the room, but found he couldn't move any part of his body, even trying to tilt his head would cause him so much pain that he would barely be able to move it. After a few minutes of scanning the ceiling, Kitsumi would call out. "Hello, is anyone in here?"

Broken Back and Broken Pride
Kitsumi's eyes would flutter slightly, his head ached, his body felt numb, and he couldn't open his eyes, it almost felt as if he was floating on a cloud. Was he dead, or was this merely a dream, Kitsumi couldn't be sure until he opened his eyes. His mind would flash back to the last thing he remembered, if he could move, he would have likely fallen out of the bed he was laid in. The Demonic face of Tsumi, was the first thing that popped into his head, as the last thing he remembered before he blacked out. As he finally found himself able to open his eyes Kitsumi is instantly blinded by the flooding of light in his eyes. As his eyes would slowly adjust to the light, he would begin to be able to make out shapes and splotches, as soon the color came back as well. As his vision would finally return he would let out an auditable sigh of disappointment. He recognized where he was, he had just left this place the day before, he was back in the freaking hospital.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Yasuka had rarely left Kitsumi while he was stuck in the hospital, knowing that he had only just come from there after months of physical rehabilitation to be able to walk again. She remembered that he'd been in a coma for quite a long time, a number of years in fact, and she wanted the first thing he saw or heard to at least be something to provide him with some level of comfort. And while Yasuka herself couldn't really provide much comfort being mostly a stranger, she at least held his sword carefully by its saya. She notices him starting to wake, but he'd gone in and out of consciousness in brief spurts that hadn't lasted more than seconds before as his body was left to recover from the spinal fractures.
She's surprised therefore when Kitsumi actually speaks, and she even sees that his eyes have regained focus. But he obviously can't move his head in the full body paralysis he's been put in temporarily while his bones recover, so she moves to stand over him so he can see her face. Yasuka even puts on a smile for him so he would be less worried than she might be in this kind of situation.
"Ah, I'm here, Kitsumi. It's Yasuka Inazuma. No worries, you'll be able to move a little more in a week or two; they've already started the healing process and it doesn't look like any of the damage is permanent, but they want to ensure that your nervous system remains intact."
She feels a little awkward holding the sword now, but she carefully raises it above him so he can see it, and even flicks it an inch or two out of the saya before gradually drawing it so he can see that she'd gone ahead and kept it oiled and had even cleaned it properly after the fight while ensuring that it wouldn't rust with almost meticulous drying.
"I didn't really know how to do it myself, but I found someone here to help give me instruction on how to keep it clean for you. I hope you don't mind."
Yasuka then slips it back inside the saya, even ensuring that it closes completely before she sets it on a chair, speaking to him when she's out of eyeshot so he won't be too worried before moving back into his frame of reference, keeping her facial expression somewhat stoic to keep him calm.
"I'm leaving it in the chair here next to you so it'll be there for you the entire time."

@all?
A fleet of foreign colors invaded the teen’s vision as dry pupils fluttered awake. Everything was a blur. Where was he? And more importantly, who was he?
He heard the constant robotic sound of a machine ring endlessly. Beep. Beep. Beep. The intervals between each ring, he slowly realized, was a reflection of his own ragged breathing.
The boy forced his neck to turn, but his body refused to follow. The world felt like a dream, and he felt like an observer of his own body, unable to act. Panic set in. He forced every limb of his body to move. Nothing. The dream was a nightmare. The machine sang faster. Slow beeps shifted to rapid chops until his heart felt like it would explode straight out of his chest.
Then a voice spoke, deep within him. It told him to breathe. To meditate. He followed the voice. The boy filled his lungs completely through his nostrils, and exhaled slowly with his mouth.
The machine's song slowed to the sound of his now regular heartbeat. His vision slowly improved, and so too did control of his body.
He was able to see a white roof above him now. He also heard voices. A conversation was happening somewhere beyond his feet.
Slowly, the boy lifted his neck up, to get a clearer view. There was a girl in the room. She was talking to someone else he couldn't see. He struggled to lift his neck up higher, unable to see who the girl was talking to.
All he could do was focus his vision on the girl. She was a complete stranger, but what she held in her hands felt familiar. It was a katana. The weapon of a swordsman. How he knew that, he wasn't sure. It was a feeling imbedded deep within, as if the blade called to him.
Energy welled up inside him. The sight of a sword gave him strength. He mustered every ounce of the strength the sword gave him, forcing himself up.
As he pushed himself up from the bed, an answer came to him. Suddenly he knew who he was.
"I am Kyousuke!" He suddenly declared, summoning every vocal cord in his throat to shout his name.
His upper body had risen. Now seated on the bed, in front of the other two people in the room, Kyousuke realized again that he was not alone. He looked at the girl and the other patient awkwardly, embarrassed that he had suddenly shouted without any thought for others. He was in a hospital, after all.
"I… apologize, but do any of you know who I am?" He asked. He knew his name, but everything about Kyousuke was foreign to him.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Tsumi had been kept for observation due to his transformation more than his actual wounds. They were not too familiar with Yokai anatomy so mostly they had healed him up with medical ninjutsu and wrapped up his abdomen all the way wound his side placing bandages along the cuts up his left arm, across his abdomen and the stab wound to his side and shoulder. Lecturing him about how dangerous it was to use real blades in training. Not to mention how overboard he had gone on one of them. Even telling him to stay in that bed for the night. Most people that got cut up and stabbed like that had far deeper wounds but his sturdy skin and muscles had kept their blades from cutting too deeply. Still he was bored most of the night. Not really minding the bandages like he should as he tossed and turned in spotty sleep. The fear of how real that spar had felt when he thought he was getting jumped. Those blades cutting into him hurt but the adrenaline to survive kicked in. The power he felt in full demon form...the consideration that he had been tricked but everyone told him that was no excuse.
The next day they had to change his bandages and forced him to wear a sling for his left arm to keep him from moving it around too much. Still he would be allowed to wander for now while they decided if they could discharge him or not. So he wandered and explored the hospital. Despite a bit of pouting at the gift shop he did eventually buy a big box of chocolates as an apology. However he would be told that Kitsumi hadn't woken up yet and was not to be disturbed. Tsumi had caused traumatic damage and any sudden appearance of him could trigger bouts of PTSD. Affecting the patients recovery. Luckily, Tsumi did not know what that was. So he sat in his room waiting to be discharged impatiently. He figured maybe one chocolate couldn't hurt...it was the intent that mattered...By the time that he had finally been discharged that had turned into four out of fourteen. Still he was about to begrudgingly head out when he heard a nurse mention the man with the hurt back had regained consciousness. Which to Tsumi equaled he was all better now. So he rushed right over to the room without a second thought to the warnings.
A little too excited for restraint and unaware he had grown even stronger since the encounter Tsumi would burst into the room with a warm heart felt smile. Along with a loud crunching noise as he accidentally ripped the door off its hinges by the handle. With a surprised and sheepish look Tsumi would shift with his one good arm, the chocolates tucked into his arm brace and lean it against the wall. Hoping no one heard. Ahh the trickster was here too and...some guy he didn't know. Still Tsumi would clear his throat as his free hand collected what was left of the chocolates and would confidently stride across the room before holding it out to the clearly crippled man laying in the bed. Speaking as he held them out as if he fully expected him to take the box with ten remaining chocolates.
"I bought you an apology box for uh....going overboard. I thought I was getting jumped because she....anyway I got a little hungry while you were sleeping but the majority is in there I promise. I didn't even eat the cherry or almond ones. Honest. uh....Who's the confused guy?"

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
The room next door housed a bronze-skinned woman wearing exotic clothing with golden accoutrements hanging from her body. She sat comfortably and rather seductively upon her medical stool with her hands placed upon the side of the stool with her back arched. The doctor that was seeing her began to sweat as his eyes started to wander while holding a flashlight up to her eyes. Focusing on the task at hand, the man moved the flashlight, briefly, over her eyes to see if her iris would contract and bounce back. The light flashing over her eyes appeared like a galaxy with twinkling stars reflecting some of the flashlight's light back. The doctor was relatively new and was very new to tending to Hoshiko's medical requirements. This may have been a joke or the other medical nin may be ribbing on the young medical ninja putting him in charge of her monthly check-ups. Captivated by the way her eyes looked, a deep red blush swept across his face as he shined the lights upon her eyes, watching them glisten like the diamonds in the night sky. "Enjoying yourself, hm?" she said in her relatively deep and seductive manner. A smirk crept across her lips, meaning to tease the man. The cleared his throat, trying to remain professional. "Well, you see, I um," he said before the sudden loud outburst in the next room, sounding as clear as day shook the room next to them. The sound rattled the medical drawers and the medical cart in the room and caused the young medical ninja to lurch forward, pressing the flashlight upon her forehead, making it go 'clink' upon the forehead accoutrement, her 'third eye'. This caused the man's body to seize up with Hoshiko's seductive grin now turning into an unamused and neutral expression. The medical ninja had heard horror stories of this woman; a man-eater. Not the kind that he'd have liked, but one that would completely torment and ruin the minds of those she found 'troublesome'. His teeth started to chatter a bit as he lowered the flashlight to click it off. "You could have easily used that opportunity to steal a kiss," she said, licking her lips seductively as her eyes stared at him like the eyes of a wolf staring down injured prey. Absolute horror started to fill the man's heart as his breathing started to become more and more rapid, sweat dripping down the side of his head, pooling onto his clavicle. "You're checkout is good," he quickly said before quickly running out of the check-up room. Hoshiko let out a little sigh before gracefully standing up and pushed the chair away. Muffled laughter could be heard, which caused Hoshiko to stick her head out and turned towards the source of the muffled laughter. She had a rather annoyed expression upon her face before the other medical staff, primarily civilians, hid under cover like moles protecting themselves from big foam hammers. "And you all call me 'cruel'," she said with her usual, neutral expression. Right as she said it, a loud crunching sound could be heard as the door was torn off of it's hinges. Her head slowly turned towards the source of the noise to see a blur of white enter into the room. She let out a gentle sigh before turning her head towards the room directly next to her's, the source of the loud declaration and the loud crunching of the door being torn off of it's hinges. Without permission and without any real reason, she poked her head into the room, avoiding receiving any splinters. A glamorous and beautiful woman entered the room, her hips moving seductively with each cautious step before stopping in and turning her eyes towards everyone in attendance. She remembered the voice quite well and turned her attention towards each of the people within. One man with silver hair was sitting upon the bed. She looked him over for a moment and decided it wasn't him. Another woman, with roughly her same skin-tone, sat next to the bed as she placed the sword next to the man's bed. No, that wasn't her. Her eyes then turned towards a rather pale man with bright horns. Her head tilted a bit, thinking it might be him. He might have a shrill voice or he might have the deepest voice here. It could go either way. Either way, everyone here was quite attractive, though if you were to ask her, she would find herself to be the most attractive in the world; but that would just be her own bias and narcissism kicking in. Her need for deduction had been deemed useless as the culprit asked if anyone knew who he was. She turned her eyes towards him and scanned him, giving him a quick once over. She would simply roll her eyes. He, too, was bed-ridden and the sudden revelation of who he was might have been extremely grand news for him. "That is good for you," she simply stated with a pan-faced expression and a rather emotionless voice. Her eyes turned towards the man in all white with the horns. So, that was the violent brute that tore the door down. She didn't remember the shinobi of Kumogakure being like this when she was younger. Maybe her adoration of these 'knightly' class of people was misplaced with brutes and attention-mongers. |

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Hearing the sound of a voice but not being able to see them, Kitsumi thought for sure he had died and gone to heaven. It wasn't until he heard her say her name that the connection was made, and he realized that he wasn't dead. His limited vision adjusting towards the sound of her voice, his Denkanryū still currently on the fritz, but as his eyes fell upon Yasuka, he would let out a small sigh of relief. From what he could see of her, she didn't look injured and from what she was saying he took it to mean that hey at least he wasn't dead. Weeks confined to a bed though was going to be annoying, he just got out of a bed and now he was stuck in one again.
The fingers on his left hand would twitch ever so slightly as the man attempted to move his hand towards his hip to grasp the hilt of his sword out of instinct. He was about to ask Yasuka about his sword, when as if she read his mind, she would hold it up for him to see. A small tear would form in the corner of his eye as Yasuka explained how she had cared for it for him in his absence. The sword was the one thing Kitsumi had left, the one thing he held close to his heart. To see that Yasuka had taken her time to care for it, would mean a great deal to the swordsman. "Lady Inazuma, you are too kind. Thank you, I don't know how I can ever repay you for this." Kitsumi would state through strained speech, as Yasuka sat his blade into the chair. "My brain is still a mess, what happen the last thing I remember was.." His words would stop, and if Yasuka was looking towards his eyes, she would see fear within them as the flash of the demon face entered his thoughts once more, only to be pulled back into the moment as the silence was broken by a loud proclamation of someone shouting their name.
Though he still couldn't move the sudden proclamation from someone near him that he didn't know was there, would be enough to trigger his adrenaline responses kick starting his Denkanryū and the sudden flooding of electrical pulses would flood the man's senses. The machines and people in the room, the people walking past in the hallway, as well as everything else that had any sort of electricity within it. In the room, he could feel the familiar and erratic pulses from Yasuka, and then not far from where they were was another signal. The electrical signal of the one who made the sudden proclamation did not feel familiar, and Kitsumi did not recognize the name, so it was unlikely the man was there to see him. It was likely the person was another patient, either that or the person was the worst doctor Kitsumi had ever met. Still he would not have time to respond to the man question of if they knew him, as a lump in his throat formed when he felt something just on the edge of his Denkanryū range just outside his door.
'It couldn't be... It wouldn't be... It can't be... oh f--!' Kitsumi's worst fears would be realized as just within his peripherals as he faced Yasuka, he saw the door. His heart rate would be steadily climbing the closer the signal got to the room, until he felt as though everyone in the room could hear the rapid, panicked beating of his heart in his chest. Within a matter of seconds from him sensing this new sources arrival, the door was ripped from it hinges making an extremely loud cracking sound as wood and metal were ripped apart from one another. His eyes landing upon the man who caused this to happen, Kitsumi's adrenal gland would kick into overdrive and whatever paralytic the doctors had used on him would lessen in effect. Certain the monster had returned to finish him off, though still laying in the bed Kitsumi would instinctually reach out with his left hand, towards the chair for his sword. The sudden movement causing both surprise and pain to register on Kitsumi's face as his right arm would quickly grab his ribs letting out a quiet "Ah" in pain. It would seem as though his arms and part of his upper body was no longer paralyzed, feeling the pain was a good sign of that, though he still couldn't feel his legs or sit up fully.
"Lady Inazuma, he's come to finish me off. Get out of here quickly," he would say in a hushed voice to Yasuka as the horned man drew closer. The smiling grin on the man's face as he approached, would shift back and forth between it and the demon face from before in Kitsumi's mind, as the man got to the bed. Seeing the man hold out his hands, Kitsumi would close his eyes. Afraid to face his fate, but knew he could not get away and his sword was too far from his current range of motion to reach. Not registering the man's words as he spoke, Kitsumi waited for what he believed would be his demise. When it didn't come, he would open his eyes to see the man standing there holding a box of chocolate that had a few missing. He would just stare at the man blinking repeatedly in both confusion and fear, unsure what to do or say.
He had been so focused on the appearance of the demon man, that he did not realize that the electrical impulses of one of the people he had sensed within the room next door had moved into the room until he heard her voice. Still trapped as he was, laying in the hospital bed, Kitsumi's eyes would tentatively shift from the demon man to the source of the voice. What he saw instantly made him believe that Tsumi really did kill him, and he had just hallucinated the chocolates, because he would swear he was looking at an angel. His eyes would tear away from the new woman and back to Tsumi, seeing the chocolates still, nope not a hallucination. Though still confused, Kitsumi would be slightly happier at the fact that he was still alive, because if the chocolates were real then the woman must be real as well.
He wasn't sure who she was, though it was obvious from what she was wearing she wasn't staff, it was possible that she was there to visit the other guy but he couldn't be sure with how he currently was positioned. He probably would have enjoyed the view of her more if he wasn't shifting his eyes between her and the demon man standing near him, still not fully aware of what exactly was going on.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Yasuka is still smiling a bit as Kitsumi thanks her and admits to not knowing how he could repay her, and she's about to respond that there's no need for repayment between teammates that look after one another when it feels like almost everything in the hospital happens all at once before she can explain to him what happened at the end of the spar. First, some patient who had been in a completely vegetative state up until that point would suddenly lift upwards and shout his own name quite loudly, making the Inazuma jump. To be honest, he was lucky that Yasuka hadn't tried to start forming handseals at that moment from the surprise. Then he seems to notice the two of them and, funnily enough, asks them if they know who he is. Yasuka's response is dry enough to dehydrate the ocean.
"You are Kyousuke, I presume."
Then the door is ripped off its hinges, and Yasuka actually does perform a string of handseals, stopping in the middle of it when she sees that it's actually Tsumi, holding a box of chocolates. Her normally very stoic face actually shows a bit of anger now at the two sudden interruptions, and then she looks at Kitsumi herself and sees the expression of fear quite clearly on his face. Not even fear, but outright sheer terror as he seems to think that Tsumi is here to finish him off. Silently, she thinks to herself that a box of chocolates would be quite a poor choice of murder weapon, and she can see that he's bandaged as well, and it's clear to her that he's actually recovering in the hospital. She considers shoving Tsumi out of the hospital room for how it seems to cause Kitsumi a great deal of distress, despite his apology in the form of a box of chocolates, when another woman enters the room.
Her skin tone matches the Inazuma's own, though parts of her body are covered in scar tissue. Despite her beauty, she's clearly had a lot of trauma in her past as well. Still, with so little clothing covering her body, Yasuka herself feels a little self-conscious, but at least she's a bit taller than the other woman at 5'4". She can take at least a little bit of pride in that. Yasuka also realizes she'd removed her yellow fur-lined jacket and placed it on the back of a chair, so she was just in her ninja vest and flowing white pants as well as her raised-heel nin shoes. Thankfully, the other woman's focus isn't on any of them for long, and instead she seems to give the stranger a bit of a glare. His shouting must have interrupted something.
And all this time, Yasuka has barely managed to get a word in edgewise. But her face remains mostly stoic as she looks between Kitsumi, Tsumi, who is unwittingly terrorizing Kitsumi just with his presence, this new stranger, and the man who had called himself Kyousuke. First thing's first, introductions can wait until she's calmed Kitsumi down for the moment. Normally she would have placed a hand on her teammate's wrist to help calm him, but she sees now that some of the paralytics are wearing off and so he'll likely be feeling some pain as his nerve endings become active once again. Instead, to make it easier on the white-haired man, she reaches over and takes hold of the box of chocolates from Tsumi's hands and delicately places them on the bedside table before giving the horned man a bit of a glare, though she's speaking to Kitsumi next to her.
"Not to worry, Kitsumi. We really did a number on him in our spar, so he's recovering in the hospital, too. Tsumi, thank you for the chocolates on Kitsumi's behalf, won't you have a seat?"
At this, she offers him the seat she'd been sitting in earlier, the chair without Kitsumi's sword resting on it. It was at least further away from Kitsumi, so he might feel a little less trapped in the room at least. Then she looks to the other two people, the one that had been up until that point completely unconscious and the dark-skinned woman, and she tries to redirect Kitsumi's attention to focus on them, although she can see from the way his eyes shift that she needs little work to direct his view towards her.
"Ah, hello. I'm Yasuka of the Inazuma clan. This is Kitsumi of the Ryuzoji. How do you do?"

The first to answer his question was the woman who had held the sword. She spoke to him without giving much substance. The question he asked still remained unanswered.
“Then I guess you don’t know who Kyousuke is either…” His gloomy tone trailed off. A pain suddenly began to split his mind open. He clutched his head with the right hand and tried to soothe the feeling. “Why don’t I remember who I am?” He asked no one in particular, instead speaking his thoughts aloud.
That was when the door to the hospital room came flying off. The perpetrator was a pale man with horns like a devil. He was familiar to him. Yokai. That’s what people like that were called… weren’t they?
The Yokai seemed to know the other patient in the room. Kyousuke realized that they were likely friends of some sort. Then the Yokai man asked about Kyousuke. He took it as an opportunity to ask another question. “Do I… know you?” He asked, but as soon as the words left him a series of images flashed into his head.
The images were that of a race, a race he participated in against a Yokai girl. The Yokai he had met was fast. It couldn’t have been this man that stood before him.
Stuck trying to decipher the puzzle that were his memories, Kyousuke didn’t realize that another person had entered the room. It was only when she spoke that he turned to face her. She was an older woman with features completely foreign to him. She was no one he knew… or at least that was what instinct told him.
Succumbing to the headache, Kyousuke crashed back down into the soft mattress. He closed his eyes. Everything was draining his energy and he felt overwhelmed. He needed to breathe. So he did. He inhaled and breathed air back out until he forgot about the people around him. They disappeared completely into the darkness of his focus. Then his energy expanded outward, and they appeared again. Even with his eyes closed he could see them… no. More than that, he could feel them.
A wave of stimuli overloaded his sensations. He felt alive. Among the people in the room, there was only one thing familiar to him. One thing he recognized. It called to him again.
Eyes still closed, Kyousuke kicked himself up to his feet and burst forth with every ounce of speed in his body. He sprinted towards the object, his right hand reaching to grab it.
If no one had stopped him, he would open his eyes with the katana’s saya held in his right hand. His thumb had naturally pressed the tsuba down. “This thing… it’s so familiar. Is this mine?” He asked, golden eyes lost on the object.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Tsumi would almost blink at the way Kitsumi would claim he was there to finish him off. What did that mean? Did Kitsumi think Tsumi wanted him dead? That sure was odd considering it was Tsumi who carried him here to begin with. Oh right he must have a concussion or somethin. People got those all the time around Tsumi. It wasn't that big of a deal really. Still the frightened man only gave him pause a moment before he would have the chocolates taken from him and placed on the bedside table. The glare was mean so he would bunch up his nose and lightly stick his tongue out back at her. She was the rotten dirty cheater there not him. Not fighting up front but using tricks and ranged jutsu. That was for chumps. He wasn't no chump. But she was. The Chumpety Chumpstress of Chumpsterville. The Chumpstiest.
Still she suggested he take her seat and he would glance at it a second before thinking better of it. He wasn't much of one for sitting after having to sit around and wait for healing. All that talk about not running right at a sword and maybe bringing some armor or something. So he forgot his gauntlets at home big deal. Besides had he been wearing metal over his hands..... right well those were better made than rebar at least. So what if he would have broken more bones. Besides his attention was drawn to the hot piece of pineapple popsicle pizazz. He would let his mouth hang slightly open a moment before the man would ask if he knew him. Tsumi would simply adjust his attention back to him with a blink as a scrunched up nose with focused eyes.
"Nah not that I..."
His gaze could follow that movement but he doubted the others could very well. Red eyes shifted to watch the young man who had layed down after asking his question spring up and fly out of his bed right for that sword. Tsumi was slower but closer. And he wasn't reaching for the sword. Instead if the man didn't give up reaching for the sword he would shift right into the path of Tsumi who had been closer originally. Using the spring chant stance to simply be fast enough to attempt to wrap a firm hand around the mans right arm. Like a steel bear trap holding him in place if it locked in. Tsumi would stare down at him with those red eyes wide and full of danger. There was the Oni of the Yokai. Of the three branches they held the traditional demon physical prowess. Attempting to hold him in a tight grip making it likely difficult for him to use his right arm.
"Oy...that ain't yours. Keep your mittens off it. You try and draw that in here and I'll put you back in your bed. Fuck with me and find out. That's my friends sword. Give it back."

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
When she felt eyes upon her from one of the hospitalized men, she directed both of her eyes towards the silver-maned man, the one with the sky blue eyes. Her eyes met with his and she just glanced at him with the eyes of a wolf. The eyes of a hungry beast ready to devour it's prey. It appeared that stars were moving through her irises, as if holding the entire universe within her eyes. Their glance was fleeting, feeling his glances dart between her and the pale demon standing a distance away from her; the brute that tore the door open. The drama continued marching forward with many glances in her direction with her instantly catching and matching the glances from these various people. She caught the glance of a woman of similar skin-tone as her, this causing her golden eye to furrow a brow gently, subtly to not garner any unnecessary attention. Her clothing, body, and face did well enough to get her attention. The clothing were ways for her to remember the trauma she had to endure when she was kidnapped and forced into sex slavery. More interactions occurred between the dark-skinned woman, the slightly taller one before her huddled near the bedside of the sky-blue eyed one. His paige, perhaps? Lover? No, doesn't seem like it. Confidant or friend? Perhaps. She was trying to discern the relationship between the two as their bonds seemed quite strong. A bond she had never felt. The voice of the one who had interrupted her check-up with a loud proclamation of who he was and then wondering if that was him or not chirped up. It seemed he had amnesia. Mmm, yes. Quite an interesting idea for a genjutsu. What better to screw with someone's mind than to completely, if temporary, wipe their memories. They would have no reason to fight other than instinctual fight-or-flight and their goals would merely be forgotten. Yes, a very interesting means of bringing a battle or conflict to an end. If only she had the means of completely rewriting someone's memories. Would she rewrite happy and kind memories or would she fill someone with fear and despair? Either seemed logical and desired. The fear and despair would be more desirable for her to use on others than others to take unto themselves. It was then that he lunged for the horned one's weapon and the loud noise and rattling and crackling caused by their little scuffle was enough for her to be called into action. "I will give you to the count of three to stop what you are doing," she said in a flat tone. Her voice still had a touch of sultry seduction in it, from years of practice and conditioning to attract customers. Why did she work so hard? She believed she was paying a debt that didn't exist. Lies and honeyed words used as a means for revenge were employed as a means to see Hoshiko suffer for merely protecting herself and the other children of the orphanage. She was the only one to suffer this indignant vengeance which she considered to be a blessing and a curse. At least the others from the orphanage didn't have to suffer as she did and she learned to fully trust Tsukihime, even if her precognitions would lead to crippling harm to herself. Her words were infallible, her words were gospel. She straightened up her posture and held a single hand up to her chest before slowly forming handseals directly in front of her while having a hand behind her back, forming the proper set of handseals that she wished to use, slowly, for a kind of torture that would get the man to calm himself. A man already wrought in despair, not knowing who he really was or possibly where he came from was already bad enough, but this didn't really give a reason to why he would lash out at someone else's weapon. "1.... 2...." she said as her concentration was directly on the man. All of the handseals were a complete bluff as she had also forgotten all of the handseals and jutsu required to form a working genjutsu. It would happen when your mind and body were put through immense stress. However, this man didn't seem very perceptive or very intelligent in the slightest, so the bluff should work. It was then that the horned man sprung into action to grab the other man's arm. She let out a deep breath before flicking her hips to let the bells upon her exotic clothing jiggle. She knew a jutsu would employ bells. Oh, she had so much to do to return to being a shinobi. |

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Kitsumi would be surprised by Yasuka bossing the demon around as she did in her own polite way, how was she not scared of that face. Then his mind went back to the fight, the sight of it only lasted a second, perhaps Yasuka didn't see the man's true face like he did. Tough still worried about the demon, Kitsumi's fear would lessen as Yasuka moved herself between him and Tsumi. Seeing the box of chocolates for the first time as Yasuka set them on the table, Kitsumi slowly realized what the man had said during his freak out. The demon hadn't come to kill him but apologize, it was odd to say the least but at least he wasn't about to die. He could feel himself start to relax slightly knowing that the man hadn't come there to kill him, and slowly he was finding the paralysis from the drug wearing off. He could feel the numbness passing and the pain returning, it was no where near the pain he had felt when Tsumi had broken it, but still enough to be a discomfort.
Yasuka would be trying to help Kitsumi get a better view of the room and the woman who had entered, the man in the other bed seemed as though he had some kind of amnesia or the inability to have an inward thought to himself or both. Kitsumi would find himself looking more towards the woman who had entered the room but had not said much of anything, if she was there to see the guy in the other bed, then why wasn't she saying anything. More to the point, if she wasn't here to see the other man, what was she doing here. Kitsumi didn't recognize her, so he didn't think she would be there to see him. Not that he would complain if she was, though unfortunately in his condition he couldn't do much other than talk.
He was beginning to find his words when he would feel a surge from the electrical synapses of the man in the other bed, feeling a pending threat, Kitsumi felt his own adrenaline surging again as it did when Tsumi first entered Kitsumi bolted straight up sitting in the bed. By the time Kitsumi had sat up however the man in the other bed would be standing next to Kitsumi's bed, his hand on Kitsumi's sword, and Tsumi's arm on his. The adrenaline keeping the residual pain at bay for the time being as he listened to Tsumi telling at the other man something about his friends sword. Kitsumi would have a puzzled look on his face at the words, but that would be quickly replaced by a look of seriousness as he turned his attention to the man holding his sword.
"I am afraid you are mistaken, my friend. The blade you hold is mine, and I would thank you to return it. I am sure Tsumi doesn't want to be responsible for putting two of us in a hospital bed, but he has a short temper. Why don't you hand the sword over to Yasuka here, Tsumi could release your arm and we can all talk. I am sure your belongings are around here somewhere." The whole time he spoke Kitsumi's right hand would be over his ribs and his words would be slightly strained, but he would maintain a calm and calculating glare on all those in the room. Kitsumi didn't care about his pain in that moment, the fear he felt towards Tsumi would dissipate, even his attraction towards the unknown woman lessened. All he cared about in that moment was that his sword was in someone else's hands, and that was an insult to the swordsman.

All he cared about in that moment was that his sword was in someone else's hands, and that was an insult to the swordsman.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Yasuka yelps as the man that had been in bed up until that point suddenly jumps up and rushes at intense speed to the sword that was in the hospital chair and even manages to grab it before she sees Tsumi grip the other ninja's right arm, letting the other man know that the sword wasn't his, as well as the other dark-skinned woman with all the scars starting to count, with the insinuation that she would be causing some kind of pain for the other ninja that had up until that point been in a coma. She even feels a bit of happiness when even Tsumi calls Kitsumi his friend. Despite the fact that Kitsumi was in the hospital again purely because Tsumi had broken his back...
In any case, Yasuka grabs firmly onto the sword by both the handle and the saya, then twists the entirety of it horizontally so that Kyousuke would be forced to let it go, at least with that hand. Failure to do so would simply cause the sword to be drawn and leave Kyousuke holding the saya instead, with the tip of the scabbard pointed at his own stomach. Which wouldn't be preferable, but at least the sword wouldn't be in the stranger's possession, just the saya. Yasuka didn't know much about handling blades, but regardless, she would at least keep a tight grip on the handle of the blade and keep it away from the would-be thief, whether he agreed with Kitsumi's offer to hand over the sword or not.
"That's quite enough thievery for today, I think."
While her face is still stoic and mostly emotionless, her brow is furrowed as she stares at Kyousuke. The look in her eyes is no longer nearly as friendly as it was before.
"Luckily, little Al-Addin here is in the hospital, so they'll be able to patch you up if we beat you senseless."
Her voice is no less polite, but her words convey how she really feels, even if her tone is steady and even. Even Kitsumi seemed quite enraged to Yasuka, so it would have to be exceedingly obvious even to someone with quite low intellect that they were not at the point that they could get away with attempting to steal it. She wonders internally why anyone would think that something on the other side of the room being held by somebody else would be their own property.

The amnesiac held the katana in front of him, studying the details of the mysterious object. Yet, despite refusing to look at everyone else, he waited for their response… felt for it even. The energy that came from him relayed everything back to his senses. How it did so, he couldn’t understand at the moment. But he felt everything, even that which was outside the hospital room.
When the Yokai man moved towards him, motioning to grab his arm, Kyousuke felt it. The Yokai man was quick and had far more grace in his movements than Kyousuke ever expected. Still, it wasn’t enough to stop him.
Kyousuke whipped his arm back, retracting it out of the path of the Yokai’s arm. Instead of warm flesh the Yokai would find that he had instead grabbed the cold sensation of air. Kyousuke was faster than the Yokai, and beyond that, the energy he emanated gave him grace beyond the Yokai’s ability.
Immediately following the Yokai, Kyousuke felt another body move towards him. It was the girl whose voice he heard upon his awakening. Instead of his arm, she was aiming to grab the sword, only her every movement was at a much slower pace than the Yokai’s.
The moment he felt her intentions, Kyousuke summoned his speed again. He stepped back with all his might, backstepping towards his bed with a blitz. By the time she realized that she had also grabbed nothing but air, Kyousuke would already be beside the foot of his bed.
There was another body he felt reacting to him. The woman that had entered the room last. She was making hand seals. He had no recollection of what that meant, but something within his body shouted warnings. However, the danger signs his instincts blared was nullified by the calming of his sensory energy. Despite the movement of her hands, he felt no energy forming within her body. She was no danger at all. Kyousuke ignored her without so much as a glance and turned his focus to the Yokai, who was now speaking.
“That's my friend's sword.” The Yokai said. “Give it back."
Confusion filled Kyousuke’s mind. This sword in his hand felt so familiar. How could it not be his? But when the patient on the other bed spoke, Kyousuke understood that what he held was indeed not his.
“I… see.” He said with a solemn voice. His eyes dropped down, losing much of their life. “I sincerely apologize.” Every ounce of energy had left his body and it was noticeable in his tone.
Every cell in Kyousuke’s body screamed at him to keep the sword. Whoever he was could not bear to part with it. He gripped the katana’s saya with both hands and brought the object closer to him, hugging the sheathed katana.
“I don’t know why… but it’s so difficult to give it away even after knowing it isn’t mine.” He could see water forming in his eyes, clouding his vision. He could feel it begin to stream down his cheeks. “I am a swordsman, that much I know.” He said with a voice shaken by emotion.
With every ounce of his strength, Kyousuke pushed the blade away from his body and lowered his head. He bowed, as deep as he could, to the other swordsman and offered the katana back on his open palms. He made sure the katana rested with the sharp edge pointed up, putting great care to ensure it did not dull on the wooden sheathe.
His tears fell on the floor now, dropping like heavy rain. “I am Kyousuke.” He declared again, this time quiet. “I am a swordsman.” He added. “But I have no home, I have no friends, I have no memory, and I have no sword." The realization of his words brought him down to a pit of despair. He was bawling now, crying uncontrollably. "Would you please..." He said, barely capable of forming words through the tears. "Help me find who I am?” He asked everyone in the room, his speech barely understandable.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Tsumi was surprised to see he had snatched at nothing. His gaze blinking a moment as his hands couldn't keep up with his eyes. He would let his hand fall to his side as he flexed his fingers. The bones popping lightly from the pressure of his muscles. Most people used their other hand or a surface to pop their knuckles. Tsumi simply had to flex. Still the man had zoomed back to his spot out of reach. He was fast but...Tsumi wasn't certain he was outclassed just yet. The techniques he had been practicing were still unrefined but he could use katon now. Even then he figured he would just be keeping up with the speedster. For now he would shove his free hand in his pocket instead of pursuing another fight. His red eyes watching from where he stood as each of them explained in their own way to the young man. Kitsumi had sat up it seemed which told Tsumi he was fine for the most part. The super hot lady on the other hand was forming hand seals. Which made him nervous enough to stop his antics in the hospital anyway. He could take most jutsu but didn't want to in a room with others anyway.
Still he would blink in surprise as the man cried while handing over the sword so openly. He had cried before but never really in front of anyone. It was a mans pride not to cry right? Well at least that had been his belief growing up alone in his apartment. Besides he had woken up here recently from his comatose too. He remembered no one being there waiting for him. He remembered being alone aside from some clan members he called aunt or uncle. He would feel a soft spot opening up though as he smiled a little. The poor guy needed a friend and Tsumi wasn't about to be too tough for that. He was everyone's friend if they let him. So he would clear his throat at the question. A little choked up honestly before he would speak up first. His hand shifting from his pocket to his hip as his chest bolstered out a bit. He hadn't had plans for the day but now he did.
"Well for Sure there bud! Imma be your new friend! The name is Tsumi Yokai. From the Oni path of the Yokai clan. I ain't too strong or smart or fast but you sure are fast at least. I figure we head down to the market...get you your own sword and see what you can do. I need to buy something there myself anyway. Assuming the doc says its okay anyway. Oh and these are my friends Kitsumi and Yasuka. We beat each other up recently in a spar so thats why we are all here. No idea who the scary doctor lady is though. Hey Doctor lady....who are you?"

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Seems that violence stole the spotlight here. Hands were moved into strategic locations. The other woman's hands moved to the scabbard of her friend's sword, the loud one placed his wherever her pleased and words gripped others with even the firmest of grasps. However, it was the lack of attention that had grabbed at her attention. Just a passing glance was all she received from her bluff, causing her to stop mid-seal and lower her hands down to her side and then move to cross over her chest. This brutish display was uncouth and something she didn't really care for much. She found no entertainment from this barbaric behavior, finding no grace nor charm from any of this. A man sat upon his bed, trying to awaken and calmly spoke to the hot-headed thief to unhand his weapon. That man's 'page', or at least that was what Hoshiko believed, was acting as a shield and defender of the silver-maned man's weaponry. She seemed fiercely loyal to the man, the kind of loyalty she could appreciate. Something one doesn't see on a daily basis -- an honorable trait in a world filled with dishonor. A lucky man that silver-maned patient was. Then there was the amnesiac hot-head who didn't know who he was and now suddenly remembered who he was. Seeing his tears fall to the floor would've made anyone else watching just grimace either out of skepticism or of sympathy. If Hoshiko was to show emotions, she would be skeptic about all of this, feeling like all of this was just crocodile tears. Then again, she would rather manipulate emotions rather than accurate report other's emotions. And then there was the supposed assassin, being one of the more calm and measured out of the group. If what the amnesiac man said was true, that he was a swordsman and believed that the silver-maned patient's sword, which wasn't even remotely close to the amnesiac's bed, was true, the demon-man spoke something that SHOULD appeal to others. Buying the man a sword. Whether he had a sword of personal value before that was unknown to her -- not that she would care about such things as heirlooms -- was probably the most measured response. Before the demon-man's words reached her, a nurse walked in and took a few steps towards Hoshiko and made her presence known before approaching. "Um, madam Kurama, your doctor has arrived for your monthly appointment. We do apologize for replacing him with a new medical ninja. We believed he could have used the experience," the medical ninja said quietly, causing Hoshiko to roll her eyes. It was at that point that the demon-man spoke towards her, confusing her for a doctor. A little grin came over her lips with her flipping some of her long hair over her shoulder in a rather flirtatious manner. "Oh, I'm not a doctor here. Yet," she said before giving the man a wink. The first person to actually talk to her was a dumb, brutish oni. She might take his stupidity and ignorance, this time, as an amplifier for their own charm. She would give his low intelligence a pass for his bravery to actually address her as a person, even if his assumption of her was misguided. A little wink was given his way as she turned towards the medical ninja, the jingling of the bells upon her hips signaled her movement. "Fine, lead on," she said, turning her head back towards the demon for a brief moment. She was almost glad to leave this petty drama behind for her monthly interrogation. Following the medical ninja out of the room, she went back to her previous room, just next door, and waited for the doctor in her usual seat. |

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Kitsumi sat in amazement of this strange man who would steal his sword, as he seemed to go through a large arrangement of emotions. He had to suppress his anger as he watched the man grip his blade close to his chest, but as the man broke down crying Kitsumi couldn't help but feel bad for the man. As the man was too far away from Kitsumi for him to take his blade himself he would look to Yasuka, "would you be so kind?" He would ask quietly as he motioned towards his sword, as the man seemed to now go into a full meltdown. Kitsumi was about to answer the man when he heard Tsumi's respond, causing him to raise the question if he was wrong about his initial thought of the woman. This however was quickly squashed by the woman's reply, the way she seemed to wink when she said yet made him question if she had even gone to medical school. Before he could ask her though she would be called from the room, as he felt her electrical pulses leaving the room he thought to himself he would have to find her later.
If Yasuka retrieved Kitsumi's sword for him, he would set it across his lap, with a quiet thank you to her. His hand lightly resting on its hilt, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him as the part of him that had been missing was returned. Even his fear of Tsumi seemed to be gone as he considered the man's words. "I am Kitsumi of the Ryuzoji Clan, and while I do not know you. I give you my word, as a fellow swordsman of Kumogakure that I will help you find your sword as well as who you are." He would then turn to look at Tsumi, for the first time not seeing traumatic flashes of his demon face when he looked at him. "Um, Tsumi my good friend, could you help me into one of the wheelchairs? I still can't move my legs and I'm pretty sure you're the strongest one here. Then we can all just get out of here and help our new friend." Kitsumi wasn't sure if the yokai would fall for his play on words in trying to get the man to ignore hospital protocol by using the word friend, though he was sure Yasuka might object to it. In truth he had his fill of hospital rooms and if he stayed much longer he might go insane, so he had to hope Tsumi was gullible enough to get him out of there.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Yasuka frowns when it seems that Kyousuke is about to try and escape with the sword, even holding it to his chest, and she starts to lift her hands, about to form actual handseals as her chakra begins to build, but then he extends both hands out, holding the sword still in its saya with the blade laying across his palms horizontally with the sharp side skywards. She's stunned for a moment at the sudden change of heart from the stranger, but then Kitsumi requests that she get it for him. Yasuka moves quickly to retrieve the katana and lifts it from Kyousuke's outstretched palms. She's still frowning a bit at him, apparently not having forgiven him just yet for his apparent insistence on taking the sword from its rightful owner. After gently returning the sword to Kitsumi's hands, she turns back towards the recent amnesiac for even more harsh words directed at him.
"Being a swordsman, you should have known better than to grab someone else's sword in such a disrespectful manner. How dishonorable."
Although Yasuka knew quite well that Tsumi thought of her as a "cheater" for using genjutsu, it only made sense to use the kinds of tactics one would see out in actual combat when one is training, and that includes genjutsu. She sighs when everyone seems to have immediately forgiven this stranger and Tsumi even offered immediately to buy him his own new sword after he had so recently attempted to steal one that clearly didn't belong to him.
"If he tries to steal one, you're paying for it."
She returns her attention back to Kyousuke immediately after saying this, her eyebrows furrowing again.
"And you're going to pay him back for the price of the sword he buys you, am I understood?"
Yasuka stops her berating and finger-wagging when a nurse shows up to lead the other woman out of this room for what is apparently her monthly appointment, but the dark-skinned genin wonders in the back of her mind about the name that nurse used... "Madam Kurama". That might be a reference to the Kurama clan, but all she knew about them was that they were very secretive and that they arrived in Kumogakure from their previous home in the forests of Konoha. And what a strange woman, to foolishly bluff an attempt at... something. Like a weak mother that starts counting to three, but knowing that they will do nothing once they actually reach the final count.
"Ah, goodbye Miss Kurama. Oh, yes, let's get started on getting all of us out of here... But, uh, Tsumi, be careful when you move Kitsumi, all right?"

Yua would make his way toward the hospital he heard a young genin got his spine broken despite having a three vs one advantage. The man that did it was stronger but his ruthlessness and not holding back is exactly what he wanted from his shinobi. In a real war, you can't play nice and you can't hold back thinking in a real battle you can finish, no you had to show you would fight life and death at all times to keep sharp. As he made his way into the room he saw many including the one he wanted to smile he would smile and walk up to the man patting him lightly on the back. Everyone would immediately notice it was the kage as he had a wide smile on his face. His eyes would lock onto Kyos, he knew this man but he was sure this man had been in a coma for years, it seemed Kumo was coming alive more and more.
"Tsumi as you know I am the kage of this village and your fight was watched by a most trusted friend of mine Seid. He gave good reviews of you and I need some more Jounin in this village so you are promoted to Jounin. I also plan to have the very three you fought join you as your genin members, I feel like you guys have a strong bond already. As for you Kyo."
He would look at the man and smile he clearly knew who he was as he would motion for him to follow moving to look at his medical records he would give him all details the village had on his life. He would leave the hospital soon after not wanting to stir much trouble after all he was very attractive and the Kage. He had a lot of work to do plus he had the dragon emperor in his village now was not the time for socializing.

He had a lot of work to do plus he had the dragon emperor in his village now was not the time for socializing.

As soon as the words left his mouth, Kyousuke shut his eyes. The energy he expelled retreated back into him. Shame filled his body and mind. He had asked complete strangers for an aid he did not truly know he deserved, nor even had the right to ask for.
Then he heard each of them speak. The Yokai had seemingly, and instantly, forgiven his actions. Beyond that, he introduced himself as Tsumi and offered aid beyond what Kyousuke had ever expected. He had also introduced the other two.
Kitsumi then requested for Yasuka to take the katana. When she did, he spoke to Kyousuke and made a proper introduction.
The revelation of his clan name brought vague memories into Kyousuke’s mind, as if it was a name he should have known. Right now, however, he couldn’t unravel the flashing images.
Like Tsumi, Kitsumi offered his aid.
More so than when Tsumi had spoken up, Kyousuke felt that this was something he didn’t deserve. “I…” He was unsure of what to say, or how to express his gratitude. He lifted his head back up, eyes darting back and forth between the two. “Thank you.” He said to both of them.
After Kyousuke spoke, Yasuka admonished him. She said things he couldn’t well refute. Kyousuke looked down, eyes on the floor. “You are right… I apologize.” He said again, before bowing his head even further than before.
“When I woke up, I didn’t know who I was, nor where I was. However, I could feel things around me. I do not know how to explain it better than that. But the sword, it was a shape I knew. It was the only thing I recognized. I’m sorry, I just… don’t know who I am supposed to be.”
Just as he finished speaking, another person entered the room. The man looked at him, but Kyousuke didn’t recognize this person.
Kyousuke listened silently as the new arrived addressed the others in the room. The man referred to himself as the ‘Kage, somehow Kyousuke knew that it was a title worthy of respect. The name Seid rang bells in his mind. Was that a person he knew? He would have to ask this Kage person. For now, he pushed the thought aside, instead continuing to listen intently.
He felt a sense of astoundment when he heard Tsumi be promoted to something called a Jounin. Kyousuke couldn’t well comprehend what the promotion was about, but it seemed like an important thing.
Then, the Kage looked at him directly and called his name. “Me?” He asked, unsure if his senses had misled him once more. When the Kage motioned for him, Kyousuke followed. The questions in his mind only increased.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Tsumi would appear to be fairly confident in his assurance that they could go and just buy a sword. After all both the swordsmen who had come at him during their training used the same one right? Couldn't be that difficult to buy a sword. Still the fact remained that he would need to get them out of there. His best buddy Kitsumi seemed to have gotten over the initial fear that had set in before. However even Chumpety chumpstress of chumpsterville seemed to be on board which surprised him. She may be a dirty cheater with all that ranged fighting and mind games but she was alright after all. A little certain of herself but hey...if he couldn't handle stronger women than him that was his issue right? Still hotty hot stuff would leave and he would glance after her. Damn she was finer than a pure bred stallion tell you what. Still she seemed one of them book learned types and well he wasn't likely to hold a conversation so much as garner her interest much. Women sure were a tough bunch to understand and he wasn't particularly attracted to any he had met so far. Still the goal now was to get them all out of there.
However a sudden pat on his back would bring his troubled mind back to the room and the person who had entered. They spoke to the point and mentioned he was promoted to jounin of all things. "Uh..." Was all he could get out in a stunned moment. He hadn't been mentally prepared to meet the Kage yet alone be promoted for a little scrap they had. Heck his new buddy...well buddies he supposed since she wasn't being a bi...nicer words....right....head space was important space. Since she was actually kind of nice if not a little bossy. However the third one wasn't even there and all he knew was she didn't like him much. However as soon as they had entered they left. Waving their new friend after them who followed quickly. Tsumi stood there in stunned silence a moment as it all happened so fast. He was a Jounin now? And who the fuck was Seid? Oh right the funny looking pale dude with huge balls. Had to be him. Well sure was nice of him to put in a good word. Still as it settled in Tsumi would forget escaping entirely. Placing his hands on his hips as he bolstered out his chest and let out a mighty laugh.
"Ha ha ha ha well now! It seems we have a reason to celebrate after all friends! Lets see...we should name ourselves...Buff best buds.....tough talented uh....troublemakers? No that doesn't work either...ya know what I got it! Both of you sleep on it and you...Kitsumi! Imma send in a med nin to get you back on your feet before tomorrow. We won't be sparring so no need to worry about that. Physical training is where its at my dudes. Report to the training grounds at uh...I dunno lets do six in the morning. Get good or die trying mwahahaha!"
He would laugh as he charged out of the room. His boisterous laugh following him down the hall. However a loud scuffle several rooms down and some surprised shouting would be followed soon by a field med nin who had been filing his report shuffling in and looking like someone had just ruffled his hair harshly. He would grunt before setting to work restoring the man in the bed. Grumbling something about big men and little brains. Tsumi himself was too excited to really consider much. He was a Jounin now....what did Jounin do?

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
#4 | 35 | 110 | -- |
By the time she was sat down in her chair, she noticed a rather peculiar individual enter the room not-long after she had left. She knew she had seen this person before, but it wasn't decided whether she felt the person wasn't important enough to her to remember or if she just honestly forgotten who it was. She didn't take any time pondering or attempting to remember. It just wasn't that valuable to her. Nobody in this village really was to her. Her romanticized ideations of what shinobi were were just that, romanticized ideations. People were flawed and did goofy things like her expecting her little ruse would work. Kind of dumb in hindsight, not that it mattered. Everyone was concentrating on the boy stealing the sword, the boy included. That won't be the result next time. Next time, there won't be any words; just manipulation and ruining someone mentally. She turned her heterochromia eyes towards the doctor as they flipped through her medical records. This was a civilian doctor with extremely thick glasses staring almost into the sheets of paper, using their glasses almost as if they were a jeweler's magnifying glass. After a moment of reading, the elderly man turned to look up towards Hoshiko, completely unfazed by her outfit. "Uhmm. 'Madam' Hoshiko. So after looking through your medical history since you have returned from your 'long hiatus' we have determined that you are fit for returning to being a shinobi. It doesn't appear that the seal placed upon you to take your eye-sight will come back, at all. But it did leave quite the mark on you. It did leave you with heterochromia, ummm, your left eye now being gold in color. We could assist you in--" the doctor said before being cut off. Hoshiko brushed some of her hair off of her shoulder and behind her ear. "There is no need to worry, doctor," she said in her usual monotonous voice. "It will serve as a reminder. Let's just leave it at that," she said as she saw the shadow of an individual walking out of the room next door. The same shadow of the individual that had walked in after she had left. If it really was the Raikage, it really did prove that she wasn't important enough for even a passing glance. She turned her eyes back towards the doctor. "Am I free to go now? I have some vicious animals to purchase," she mentioned rather non-chalantly. This caused the doctor to almost question the mental examination performed on the woman. "I guess you technically are," he said before Hoshiko stood up and smiled towards the doctor. "Well, thank you, doctor. You all should be nicer to the new medical ninja. It isn't nice to haze them, especially with me," she said as the doctor nodded his head and stuck his head back into the medical records. As she was about to leave, she noticed the loud-mouth monkey-spider from before leaving with another. "It won't be a bluff next time," she said, raising her hand up to Kyo and gentle waving at him by wiggling her fingers. The loud and boisterous laugh of the demonic looking man echoed and billowed through the halls. He might have been dumber than a box of rocks, but he seemed to look like he could have a good time. Now that the loud noises were gone, she turned the corner once again and poked her head back into the room leaving only the silver-maned man and his sword-bearer. She felt it would be prudent to, at least, introduce herself. "Hoshiko. Kurama Hoshiko," she said flatly, crossing her arms down by her waist, tapping one of her fingers upon her elbows. "Seek me out if you are in need of a Genjutsu specialist," she commented before taking a couple of steps closer towards the duo, sashaying her hips from side to side before coming to a full stop, keeping her distance from the two. To them, she was probably some weird outsider or even some bizarre foreigner from the Wind Country. With the way she was dressed and how she looked, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to think that. Her eyes scan the room for a brief moment. "I guess shinobi of Kumogakure show a bit more temperance. If it was me, I would've knocked some sense into him for touching my sword," she said rather non-chalantly in her still monotonous voice, her eyes gently fixating upon the silver-maned man's weapon. A sword was an extension of a swordsman's body and their soul. "Well, if I was strong enough to brandish a sword, that is." |

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Kitsumi would sit, in a mixture of shock as well as mild bemusement as he watched what unfolded so quickly within his hospital room. He was almost certain it this had to be some sort of fevered dream, or maybe he was suffering from a concussion, maybe he did die in that fight and this was all a hallucination. Unfortunately, the pain was still there though so that made it less likely to be any of that. Still, it would be several minutes after the man that said he was the Kage came in and promoted the guy that broke his back to Jounin, as well as put him in charge of their team, before he found his train of thought once more. His heart had been pounding so loudly that he did not even hear what Tsumi had said before he left. He looked to Yasuka as if he was about to speak when he heard the woman's voice again. Turning his gaze in her direction, he had been so lost that he didn't even pay attention to the fact that her electrical pulse had re-entered his range. Mentally kicking himself for allowing himself to be so distracted that he had not been paying attention, but it happened like that when one minute you're trying to escape the hospital, and then the next the kage walks in and promotes the man the breaks your back and makes him your sensei...
"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Kurama. I must apologize for earlier, that was a terrible first impression we all made. This is my Teammate, Lady Inazuma." Kitsumi would reply with a smile as the doctor, would enter the room and begin grumbling as he began using some healing technique. He would move the sheathed blade from his lap and place it to the side of the bed as the doctor began to work, though his grip remained on the hilt of the blade. As Hoshiko spoke of how she would have handled the situation, Kitsumi would smile at her . "In normal circumstances, and I been in the position to do so, I might have. However, I believe his words, I too experience a short loss of memory when I first woke up from a similar coma as him. I cannot fault him for wishing to remember, though I cannot say I would have done what he did myself, I do not hold it against him. He was kind enough to return it, and besides we are all shinobi of Kumo are we not, so all is forgiven." Kitsumi's voice would be the same as it had been when he told Kyosuke to return the blade to him, now that the demon was gone it was much easier to find his words even with the doctor working on his healing.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride
Yasuka rapidly stands straight as a rod when the Raikage himself walks into the hospital room. Or at least, her twin does. She instantly bows to the man whose sister leads the village itself, listening as he gives Tsumi the rank of Jounin and then gives him sensei leadership over herself and Kitsumi, which she winces at since her face is too far down for others to see her expression. Yasuka waits until she hears him leave and then finally sits down again in the hospital chair, her face composed once again, although she looks to see Kitsumi's expression out of the corner of her eye; he also seems at least as unnerved by the posting as she feels.
This time, she can't hide her wincing as Tsumi tries to decide on a team name, and none of his suggestions are much better than her own previous attempt at a team name back when they were at the seafood buffet. But he was their sensei, so she couldn't really voice much opposition to his suggestions; at least he seems to decide that the team name ideas are maybe left alone for now. Then she hears that they're going to be training at the training grounds at six in the morning, and she already feels tired, especially given the fact that Kitsumi was still healing and the medical staff hadn't seemed particularly hopeful about any kind of immediate recovery; still, she trusted the medic nin to be able to do a lot of good work to get him back up. But Tsumi is gone before she can get a word in edgewise, causing a ruckus in the hallway before a medic nin walks in to start healing Kitsumi's back, and she watches closely as he grips tightly onto the sword.
She turns her attention back to the woman that had finally actually introduced herself, although Yasuka is a bit confused about Kitsumi introducing her after she'd already told the dark-skinned woman her name. In any case, Yasuka bows to Hoshiko, though not as deeply as she had for the Raikage. She gives Hoshiko a quick up-and-down glance, the barest movement of her eyes, and is struck by how attractive she is again, despite the scarring on her limbs. Yasuka smiles, almost laughing as she mentions how she would have dealt with him much more violently.
"If I had caught him, he would have found himself waking back up in the hospital bed again. But... he was fast."
Yasuka frowns at the speed he'd been able to command, but then ignores the feeling of doubt it causes, and she focuses back on Hoshiko.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind a genjutsu specialist on our team... Whether we have a sensei that would be useful for such a ninja remains to be seen, but he seemed very susceptible to genjutsu...
She gives Hoshiko a warm smile, friendly and polite.
"Wouldn't that be fun?~"

The Raikage had given Kyousuke everything the village had on who he was. The sudden dump of information was a lot to take in. It was something he needed time to process completely. Nonetheless, he knew who he was now. Kyousuke Sasaki. Searching for more details would have to come later, for now he needed to rest.
When the Raikage left, a doctor came to assist the young amnesiac. Kyousuke was brought to a room where his belongings were kept. There lay things that were familiar to him. Clothes that were his, and much more, a sword of his own. A katana clad in black.
In a dressing room, he hopped out of the hospital gown and into his own clothes. Kyousuke looked at himself in the mirror. A black shirt, black pants, and a black trenchcoat covered him. At least it was easy to tell what his favorite color was. He fixed his own katana to his hip, attached to a more modern black sash around his waist.
With all his belongings returned to him, Kyousuke was given the medical clearance to leave the hospital.
The first thing he did was return to the room he had occupied.
He knocked before opening the door and stepping inside. After he entered, Kyousuke saw that there were only three people left now. Kitsumi, Yasuka, and the woman he had yet to meet. He felt awkward, coming back now that he was there. He had created a lot of fuss over someone else’s katana and even wept in front of complete strangers. Now that he had his own katana back, the shame of his own actions truly set in. Nonetheless, he returned. A strange sense of pride within him could not bear the reality of his humiliation. He had to make it up somehow.
In front of Kitsumi and Yasuka, he bowed again. "I apologize again for my actions. Now that my belongings have been returned to me, please let me make it up to both of you. Perhaps I could buy you both lunch?" He asked and raised his head. While waiting for his answer, he turned to address the fourth person in the room.
“I apologize, I don’t believe we have been introduced.” He said and gave her a quick bow. “I am Kyousuke… heir of the Sasaki Clan, it seems.” He added awkwardly.

Re: Broken Back and Broken Pride

Her attention slowly turned towards the bed-ridden silver-maned one for a moment as his voice cut through the air, grabbing her gaze. Her eyes fixed themselves upon the man as it appeared that stars flew through her eyes. Whether this was something special with her or as a strange flourish could be left up to the imagination or personal theories. It was annoying to her that they finally deigned to speak to her like a proper person. Even the medical staff, well most of them, would speak to her in their robotic medical jargon; opening their mouths to communicate rather than gawk, grunt, and groan in her presence. She brushed aside some stray hairs off of her cheek before giving the man a less-than-genuine smile. She knew how to smile properly, but that actually took a considerable amount of effort. Happiness didn't come easy with this woman. She introduced the other dark-skinned woman as 'Lady Inazuma'. Her eyes turned towards her for a brief moment and gave her the same fake smile that she gave Kitsumi. The apology that came from Kitsumi's mouth put a rather dismissive look upon her face, causing her to wave it off. "I wouldn't say it was a bad first impression. If anything, that award goes to the chimpanzee that jumped over your sword. But yes, the pleasure is all mine to finally meet you, Ser, and Lady Inazuma," she said with a smooth and silky voice, catching the polite gesture of the bow from the young Inazuma. Actually quite charmed by the introduction. Her voice had flare and it had personality. A voice of a lower timber that just bled seduction and desire. One that people would easily call her 'Mommy' for. A medical ninja scooted her way into the room, causing her to turn her body to give her a bit of room. It was then that Kitsumi spoke about the reason why everything was forgiven and the brutish reply from Yasuka gave her quite a bit to chew on. She adjusted her posture, taking a more confident stance as she pushed her chest out and placed a single hand upon her hip, thrusting her hip towards her hand a bit. She was pleasantly surprised at the answers. Perhaps she spent too much time being enslaved by brutes and heathens that her opinion of the world became skewed and perverted to the point where all she had left was nihilistic thoughts. Perhaps the fantasy she had about the shinobi of Kumogakure was still alive. Well, that'll be something she'd have to contend with when outside of this stuffy hospital room. Her attention was drawn back towards Yasuka and tilted her head. She shrugged her shoulders and started to play around with some of the hair that naturally fell over her shoulders. "I have no need for counseling with Genjutsu. I've had more than enough time to practice and learn on my own. Several years of being self-taught can do that to you. However, the orders given by the hospital were absolute so I had no other choice than to fall out of practice. Pity really," she said in a rather annoyed and pompous manner. She looked down while she played with the ends of her hair for a moment before turning her eyes to look towards Kitsumi for a moment and then back to Yasuka. Normally, women her age would be more ecstatic and thrilled to have been placed in a team, but she tended to be a bit more muted with her emotions, even if cracks began to form with her passively playing with her hair. "Certainly. It does sound fun. Gives me more people to train my Genjutsu on. Though I'd rather practice it on brutes like," she said as she turned her shoulder, watching Kyousuke, now dressed in his actual shinobi garb. As he entered through the threshold of the destroyed door, she simply let out. "Him." She continued to watch the man as he just blew passed her and started talking to the two that she was just speaking with, even interrupting her with his entrance. A look of annoyance was subtle, her using her tongue inside of her mouth to move over the bottom row of her front teeth and her lips pursing slightly. It's not that she was devoid of emotion, but her emotions were quite subtle -- something she picked up during her enslavement. He continued on and she started to lose interest in his pittering, pattering and whatever platitudes he wished to espouse. What bothered her was the fact that this guy is now completely ignoring her. He then finally turned towards her, now changing her posture to a much more confrontational one, standing straight up and crossing her arms over her chest. "Yes, the entire village could hear your introduction earlier. It delayed my medical clearance appointment, Kyousuke-chan," she said adding a bit of spice to the -chan portion. "Kurama. Hoshiko Kurama," she simply stated. |
