Reporting for a report

Kanara woke up by the sound of running water. As she kept her eyes closed she thought about the reason for this particular sound, not finding a valid explanation for it, until the pain slowly washed over her, together with some faded memories from last evening. How she experimented. How she wanted to go eat. How she saw the Hokage in the park. How she died and finally how she ran after being alive again. Or, was she alive after all? Tearing her eyes open, she realized that she was laying in her bathtub, the cold water slightly running into the bathtub on the opposite end of it. Without the overflow drain, surely her flat would have been underwater a long time ago. Slowly, painfully creeping over, closing the water she wondered. The water didn't feel cold at all, which was strange to say at least.

Dragging herself out of the water, she realized that she had grown slightly taller and while every move she made was a painful one, she was able to move with surprising efficiency. Slowly getting up in front of the mirror now, she gasped as she saw into it. She certainly was a little bit older. While it weren't many signs that showed her this, she was able to recognize them immediately, just like anybody who knew her or saw her before would be able to tell most likely. As she stood in fornt of the mirror, she thought about the best course of action now, as it hit her.

Changing her clothes with slightly shaking hands she put on a wine red hoodie with the Uchiha clan symbol on it and some black jogging pants, before putting on a pair of shoes and setting out in the direction of the Hokage office. If anybody knew what happened last night, it would have been Tengoku. As she wandered through the city for a while, she noticed many people wearing jackets, obviously as the weather seemed cold to them, however, Kanara didn't feel much of it.

As she arrived at the Hokage's office, this changed however as she entered the warm reception. Beginning to sweat almost immediately as soon as the door was closed, due to the fact that it was way warmer here than at her home. Coming closer to the receptionist she spoke out with a voice that clearly hinted the pain she was in: "Is the Hokage in the office? If so, can i see him?"

The receptionist was wearing a chunnin flak jacket as were most of the staff in the room. The administration building was mostly staffed with shinobi after all. Still the man would glance up. His right eye closed behind three claw marks marking him from brow to cheek. His red hair and beard were a bit of a mess but his good eye would look to her. Shifting to an amused smile as if recalling some joke. His black coat hung off his shoulders loosely while his pants were tied at his knees. Sandals on his feet with a white shirt under the flak jacket. He could tell she was nervous and from what he knew there was a girl causing a ruckus the night before. He had been told to keep an eye out for a report from Zenaku but dots just started clicking for him. This nervous nelly was likely the girl from the night before. What scandal could have happened with such a shy thing? Well he would amuse himself as considering this the report from Zenaku. Top priority.

"Of course. Head straight up to his office. I'm sure he would be delighted to see you deary."

The man would gesture for the stairs. Knowingly teasing as he did. Perhaps he didn't fear for his safety? Strange man really. More of a pirate in appearance. Still the stairs would have people moving back and forth up and down it. A bustle of a weekday when business had to be done. The office itself had two men in anbu masks already in it with their full anbu gear on. Standing in front of them across a desk was Tengoku running his pale finger in a circle along a map. However as she entered the door the map would be quickly rolled up by one of the masked men. They glanced to Tengoku as Tengoku stood up straight. His powerful form a peak of human physical ability. His white hair draped over a yellow pair of robes with black under clothes. Pants and shirt. All of the clothes though were sleeveless. As always. Rings of gold feathers decorated his upper arms, wrists and ankles. Those eyes lifted however and they were so different from before it was shocking. The whites of his eyes were pitch black and the iris was gold with three glowing lines in the center. His lips would move a quiet command.

"Everyone other than Uchiha Kanara clear the floor."

No one hesitated. There was no room for question under the tone in which he spoke. Everyone moved at once to leave and in a few seconds the floor was cleared. All the bustle was somewhere else. All the people were gone and there was just the silence in the room between them. He could hear her breath. See her sweat. Perhaps she was just as nervous as he...but there may be answers. "Have a seat." Tengoku directed to the chair facing his own across the desk. Moving over to the wall himself. Hanging on the wall were his three swords. The hero water jug placed on the shelf under it. Next to it he would find the water jug over the dispenser. He would collect a paper cup. Quietly filling it with cool water before returning to stand in front of her. Holding it out for her.

"Take a breath...take a drink...and take a moment if you need to."

As the receptionist guided her towards the stairs leading upwards, Kanara couldnt help but to feel nervous. After all, her memories from last night were foggy at best and the fact that she took off wasnt a good sign either way, even less so without knowig the exact reason why she took off, except the fact that she was frightened of something. Was it just a feeling? A potential attacker? Or was it Tenguko that brought her to flee? Aside of that, she didnt remember exactly how she died, but she remembered that she died. The pain of slowly burning, melting away to nothingness, her bones seemingly getting grinded to dust, and the pain she was able to feel even now were all indicators that this particular memory was true, or was it? Kanara knew that there were a few genjutsus that could create pain on an equal level, however who would use something so powerful on her?

As she went on with her thoughts, she reached a large room with sereval people in it, gathered around the Hokage, however looking at her the very moment she set her foot in it. As she was standing there the tension between the Uchiha girl and the ANBU could almost be seen in the air, however with Tengoku giving a command for everybody else to clear the floor, it went away as quickly as it came. As the shinobo shuffeled and moved around Kanara, out of the door, she slowly aproached the Hokage, feeling how her clothes were slowly getting soaked by her sweating. However there also was something different with the Hokage, or rather his eyes. The colour had changed since the last time she saw him and aside of that he looked different too, whihc was a win for Kanara, seeing how his gaze seemingly wasnt so close to her mothers now.

As she took a seat, she made a quiet paininduced gasp and her expression changed to a painful one for a second. As Tengoku brought her a glass of water, she slowly took it from him, stating: "Thank you... c-can we open a window? I feel like i am melting away here..."

Regardless if Tengoku went and opened a window, or allowed her to open one, Kanara would stare at the ground and quietly ask: "I-... Do you know what happened last night? I-... i saw you and have some weird memories... memories that cnat be true...", before taking a sip out of the glass of water.

Tengoku would watch her drink the water and glance over her. Watching as she took the water. She was sweating but that could be from nerves. Still she had burst into flames once before. Or the equivalent of. If she burned down his office he was going to be pissed. Still she would ask him to open a window and he would glance to it. His black and gold eyes looking about for anything waiting out there. What an elaborate trap this would be. If she had Yuichi waiting with a genjutsu out there once more...he would be pissed. But that was just worse case scenario. Once again he recalled what it was like to be nervous in front of the Hokage. How she must be hurt and confused. Odd dreams and now mutations happening. Mostly to the women in this village. One of which they lost contact with. He felt an urge of caution and paranoia sweep over him. However he would take a breath and remind himself of his confidence in his sensory. Activating it to remain alert for two hundred and fifty meters around him. Monitoring her chakra for oddities he might be able to explain. He would reach out and pull the window open.

Cool winter air would flow into the room. Rapidly cooling it especially at this raised level. Papers fluttered about the room at the sudden wind current but didn't shift much. Tengoku didn't seem to notice or mind the temperature difference at all as she continued. Tengoku himself settling into his chair. His eyebrow raised at his amnesia struck fresh chunnin. He had honestly wondered about that decision already. This had a high potentially of taking a hard right swing at any moment. Costing lives and then their promotion called into question. He could lose the faith of the people. He would take a breath and steady himself. Keeping calm....keeping benevolent. He would reply to her in a calm tone. Those black and gold eyes watching her.

"Thats unfortunate. I am going to be blunt with this so that we can both be on the same page with how concerning it appears. You were located by me screaming in the middle of the park. We were joined quickly by Yuichi of all people who could not seem to medically save you and I believe read your mind. You turned to ash and then the earth around you shifted into you and you were the current you. Zenaku appeared to collect you and have you brought in for medical attention on a stretcher before you took off running. Sharingans activated left and right during the whole thing with glowing eyes here and there. It was very discomforting. Yuichi came in for questioning already to Zenaku and you have a lot of explaining I need to hear. What were you doing before the park?"

As Kanara watched Tengoku open a window, the cold air reducing the temperature of the room significantly, Kanara slightly relaxed, however, she still felt like melting which could be seen by her hastily drinking the water and glancing at the jug of water from time to time.

As she listened to Tengokus's explanation, his side of the story, multiple expressions could be seen in Kanaras's face as it became seemingly paler and began to take on a sickly color. The further she listened on, the more confused, scared and horrified her expression became, with the epitome of it reaching her as she heard about her reforming, even if Tengoku saw her die as well. As she put the now empty glass on the table she stared at it as her blood pressure was rising. In her head hundreds of different thoughts were spiraling around, tormenting her with questions she had no answer for. Was she dead in this very second? Kanara wasn't sure. Her memories told her yes, while her body told her no. But was it even a propper, human body? Or was it something else entirely? Was she just some puppet or tool for somebody else?

Focusing back at Tengoku, she noticed how she had been staring quietly for a minute or so at the glass in front of her for some time. Beginning to speak up, she slowly started:

"I... I had something... a box... it vanished.", grabbing hold of her memory inside of her mind she continued in a monotone voice: "I- suddenly was a seal at my back, but it didn't do anything... i couldn't wash it off, it was like a tattoo... afterward i was hungry. I went to get some food and went through the park..."

As she stopped with her last sentence, she took some time before adding in something that almost sounded like a whisper: "W-what is going on with me?", leaving the question open in the room as she slowly looked up until she stared in Tengoku's eyes with terror and horror in her eyes.

Tengoku would listen patiently. She was running hot of course but he didn't seem to mind the cool breeze. She had lost control of the basic functions of her body it appeared but to what extent he wasn't sure. Could whatever have happened last night lead to this? It did appear to be heat based in nature. Still he was no scientist and would have prefered she meet with Zenaku for this. He was considered a genius by many. Perhaps more clarity could be had from what Yuichi had read in her mind. If that report clarified anything. All he knew is that Yuichis medical ninjutsu couldn't help her. So this was likely beyond medical professionals. Still he would note her empty cup and sit back in his chair. She was thirsty which went well with his theory of her predicament. Anything to cool off.

"Feel free to pour yourself all you want to drink."

He said quietly. His arms crossing as he thought on this whole issue. There was a crater missing out of the park....of course they would repair it with ease once the investigation was done. Soil samples would be needed and chakra signature detection. He doubted that would spread much light on any of it as there wasn't a record of anything like this. Most regeneration techniques didn't build from the surrounding environment. Of course that seal and a box would have drawn his attention the most. He didn't answer her whether she got more water or not as to the question of what was happening. He had no answer so he didn't speak up about it. Instead he would pose another question to her.

"This box...that turned into a seal...where did the box come from? Aside from that is the seal still present on you? Do you hear voices or anything?" After all it could be connected to the wolf nation incident.

The more Kanara thought about her situation now and the evenings of last night, the more troubling became her thoughts and the more terrified her gaze. While she was still feeling so incredibly hot, it mattered little to her now. After all, did she really sweat? Was it some kind of trick the Hokage played on her right now?

Answering Tengoku slowly, Kanara started her answer: "I-... I dont know... I had it and tried to open it..." Looking back at the table now she desperately tried to remember where she got it from. After what seemed like half a minute, she gave up trying to think about it, answering yet again: "When i looked at myself today, i didnt find the seal on me anymore... as for voices, I- i think i had a weird dream where is saw someone..."

Continuing to stare at the Table in front of her, slowly tear began forming in the corners of her eyes as 2 mayor questions circeled in her head. 'Am I alive? Am I even Human anymore?' The further she thought about it, the more her answer became less confident, the more it became the thing she feared. After all, nnone should be able to survive something like this... being desintegrated and then even rebuilding.

By the time she was fully wordlessly crying she looked up at Tengoku again as her hand went for her ninja bag, producing a Kunai from it as she said with a broken voice: "I- what am I, Tengoku? A-Am I even alive?" Bringing the Kunai up to her chest, the pointy edge guided towards her rips, she breathed in and closed her eyes before pushing the dagger into her chest, piercing her skin and breaking the bone as the knive went deeper into her.

Tengoku would listen to the explanation. More doors locked from the memory. More questions and no answers. She was slipping. Falling down the rabbit hole of madness. It was something he should have expected. Borderline post traumatic stress disorder. After a trauma he had watched full fledged jounin retire. Usually from some wound they couldn't recover from. Limiting their ability to perform their duties. He wondered to himself if she could return from this. This trauma without answers for her. If not than she would need to be looked after and likely in a specialized facility. At least until she was more mentally well. However he would not jump to this conclusion. Instead his eyes would flash as she reached into her ninja toolbag. Pulling free a kunai. He tensed at the drawing of a weapon. Were these Uchiha just delirious to their own actions? Jesus this was crazy. Still she was bordering on hyperventilating and clearly having a panic attack. She shifted to do harm to herself and in a flash two things would happen. First, the gravity in the room would increase exponentially. Under the table he had formed the rabbit hand sign the moment she drew the kunai. The gravitational force dropping Kanara a whole -1 Tier to each of their Coordination, Strength and Speed stats. Second he would form the Ram hand seal while activating his greaves. Boosting himself by decreasing gravity by a +1 Tier to Coordination, Strength and Speed. With another tier to speed from his greeves. Putting him at X tier coordination and S rank speed with A rank strength.

Tengoku whipped around the table with blinding speed and before she could pierce her chest he would rip the kunai from her hand if she didn't counter him. Forcing gravity to press down. However the way he yanked the kunai would drag it across her hand and cut it. He would clench his hand in a fist and unclench it as he forced himself to calm. Before turning and hucking the kunai out the window. Sending it flying across the street and burying into the concrete of the building across the way up to the ring. He would turn to Kanara and take a deep breath. Forcing himself to calm a moment before forcibly unclenching his hands. Speaking in a quiet tone but not letting up on the gravity yet.

"If you pull that shit again I will demote you and then slap the silly out of you. In no way shape or form is it acceptable for a Chunnin I personally promoted to act in this manner. You will not attempt self harm in my office again? Are we understood?"

He would wait for her to acknowledge or defy him. If she chose to fight or flee the gravity would remain. If not he would let it drop. It was draining to use that much chakra at once. A guard would appear in the window a moment to check to see the Hokage was alright before catching a glance from those black eyes and dipping back out. They were close at hand but not wanting to cross the Hokage in a mood. Still Tengoku would sit back against his desk and sigh before speaking again.

"I think, therefore I am. Its an old philosophy but one I think you should consider. What defines us as a person isn't how we look or our physiology. It's the choices we make. Wherever this box came from will be the focus of the investigation for now. Take a breath. Drink some water and so help me if you go for another weapon I will personally make it so you can't hold one. Understood?"

By the time Kanara started the movement with her hand, sereval things happened at once. First and foremost Kanara felt as if the world was coming down onto her as the gravity increased. At the same time however Tengoku stood up and rushed towards her with immense speed. As he reached her, he disarmed her swiftly, however not before leaving a deep cut in her hand that immediately drew a lot of blood. As he flung the kunai out of the window and began his speech, Kanara stared at him through her teared-up eyes with confusion and hopelessness written on her facial expressions.

As the question came if the two were clear, Kanara opened her mouth slightly wanting to speak but not being able to forth any more then a mutter: "I-..y-yes..." in a whisper-quiet voice. Seeing as she sat on her chair, motionless aside from the blood that formed in her hand, her eyes looking at Tengoku without the Sharingan for the first time and her chest rising and falling as it took in breath after breath, the gravity returned back to normal and Tengoku returned back onto his seat, however, Kanara remained. After all, even without Kanara's pain, confusion, and emotional luggage, Tengokus's show of force would have left a lasting expression on her.

As Tengoku gave her a softer speech now, Kanara needed some time until the words she heard actually were processed due to a strange fact, that being that she felt oddly at peace. The pain she experienced from the cut in her hand was different then the one she felt now. It made her focused even. Blinking now, she noticed that the tears had stopped, even if they were still visible as they had run over her face. While she disagreed on several point with Tengoku, she didn't address it. After all, Life to her was the choice she was given, and many choices were taken from her at an early age.

As she began to talk again, the former feelings coming back to her, the heat, the passive pain her body seemed to be in and the weird feeling in her mind, she began to talk to the Hokage with an expression that would show him total cooperation: "I-.. yes... Tengoku... The box... I tried to open it. It had no logo on it and was silver-colored... when i put it underwater I-.."

Stopping in the midst of her sentence she stared at her hand where a cut had been before. Instead of the blood that came with such wounds and the exposed flesh, there was no hint of a wound to be seen anywhere. As her expression became colder and she pressed her lips together, she slowly looked into her other hand as well, if only to see if she managed to confuse the hand she was injured at, however the same thing was seen there. Bringing her hands slowly up for Tengoku to see, she started another sentence, confused: "I-its gone..."

Tengoku would sit back as he listened. His rage subsiding from her blatant actions against herself. He hadn't experienced the same things she had certainly. However he did not condone suicide. Especially not as some spectacle. Ashitaka had been lost to his depression for some time before incinerating himself mid mission for no apparent reason. He had been an exceptional ninja and senju. He simply had bad experiences with powerful people and constantly worried about them coming for his bloodline. He had even been the one to reforge his Tetsudashi steel katana into what it was now. Would she lose it too? She seemed on the edge of doing so already. Though her shift in emotions was also alarming. He would raise an eyebrow from how quickly she had shifted from hysterical to calm. Kids these days were strange creatures. Still he would sit back as she would begin to explain about the box. No idea of the origin but it appeared to react to water in a violent way. A box that when wet placed a seal on a person. If he were truly considering it...this may more likely be related to the warning Nozomi had given them at the summit. A water disciple making his move?

For now it was inconclusive. Instead he would watch her study her own hands as if they were foreign to her. Mentioning how the blood and wound was gone. He couldn't smell the blood anymore but that regeneration ability was interesting. Although without any in depth explanation he would need a med nin to investigate it. Keeping her as an active shinobi with her bipolar behavior however...he would need to have her assessed. See if she was still fully capable or if this would prove to be the end of her career. He would take a breath before coming to a conclusion as to how to best do all of this at once. He would take a moment before reaching to a pile of documents off to the side. Pulling out one black folder and opening it. Examining its contents. Finally he would set it down and tap it. The file was closed and closer to him than her so he wasn't offering it to her. Just using it as a visual demonstration.

"Thats a potent healing factor. Kanara I think we should field test you and see if you are still at a hundred percent or if you have any other abilities. Away from the population. There just so happens to be a group of bandits hitting our trade routes. We will need a medical specialist to observe you as well. So I want you to go and collect Yuichi and any gear either of you intend to bring and then meet me back here. You may disclose anything we discussed here to Yuichi but only him. If you understand than be quick about it. Off you go."

Seeing how the very fundamentals of Kanaras words were breaking away underneath her feet, she was oddly relaxed as her mind had turned from normal to panicked, terrified, confused, cooperating and wanting to be useful and confused again, however it was simply a protective measure. After all, if this onslaught of different expressions continued, she would break down once more. While this "emergency mode" her mind was in at the moment would make her mind... simpler..., it would also make her cooperate to an extent as if she was in a trance. While it would appear to a normal person, like the Hokage as of now seemed to be more interested in not having a shinobi have a mental breakdown in his office, simply for the fact that it may reflect badly upon him, Kanara didn't or rather couldn't notice.

Letting her hand slowly sink back into her lap, following its motion with her eyes, she absently answered Tengoku in a sad voice: "Y-Yuichi is busy I heard... is there someone else that can go with me?"

After all, it was likely that Konoha had more then one medical specialist, and while the mission seemed... odd..., Kanara would have complied to it even if not for the state her mind had.

Tengoku would raise an eyebrow. He had expected she would have been more comfortable around someone she had praised during her interview. Someone he had suggested she stay close to. Perhaps there was trouble there? Some distance brewing between them. Then again he had asked Zenaku to look into it. So it would be going against his own interests to take that time away from him...if he were not already finished. Still it mattered very little as to why...not in this regard in comparison to the rest of the situation. Still if he were doing a field test than...well there was one other who had recently woken up. Another med nin according to their records and in need of a field evaluation themselves. Tengoku would contemplate the request a moment. If Zenaku was busy and despite Satomi's prowess he needed the man ready for a threat if it appeared...well that meant that Tengoku was best suited to lead the field trip.

"Alright. There is another med nin you would need to find. Tell them I sent you and to report for a B rank mission. They are called Ari Dokuma. Return here once you have found them. And collect your kunai from over there on the way."

With that Tengoku would nod towards the kunai stuck in the wall across the street. A knife was too dangerous a thing just hanging in a wall. A number of things could go wrong. Still if she would leave he would move to the wall. Strapping two katana and a wakizashi to his left hip. The jug of hero water to his right hip and making sure all six golden rings adorned his person. Readying himself fully for the mission. Even though ideally he wouldn't be needed at all. He was still about to set out with two very unknown variables into a battle to the death with some unsavory folk. It was going to be a heck of a day.
