Fast approaching the borders of Sunagakure’s influence, Nozomi and Isobu continued with their training. A third Bijuu transformation to strengthen their connection with one another. Nozomi was getting annoyed with the repetitive nature of this task, but it was an important one. Beyond already having a bond with Isobu, she hadn’t done a lot to strengthen their connection since then.
As the giant Bijuu form of Nozomi and Isobu traveled together, Isobu addressed Nozomi. He expressed his gratitude at the chance to live in a body of his own, despite the majority of his power still residing inside of Nozomi, as well as a separate consciousness.
Nozomi’s steps shook the ground as she travelled along in her bijuu form, massive, dragging ruts in the ground as she traveled. Truth be told, she had done it for a myriad of reasons, most of them selfish, but ultimately she didn’t want a slave that she dragged power from. Nozomi enjoyed using her own power, which was the reason she often disregarded any abilities from the bijuu at all. Her prowess as a sage was infinitely more useful to her given that she was the only one in control of them.
It wasn’t that she distrusted Isobu, but relying on others meant that there were things she couldn’t control. If Isobu decided to withdraw support from her, she would have to force him to give her power again in order to use him. There was none of that with her own abilities, so she relied primarily on herself.
