Since a previous thread was voided before Akari could post, a discussion behind screens concerning the voiding was done without including myself, and we have still not come to a tangible solution, our mission thread is being rewritten. Below is solid foundation for the discovery of a large shinobi army passing through the area, as well as the mission we are doing.
- OOC Mandatory Info:
Someone past through this area recently...: [x]. Check travel route.
-> "But soon the world will know of their actions." - hints at a not so subtle approach despite it being supposedly ANBU only knowledge.
-> "This expedition would take Iwa completely by surprise." - hints at godmoding. A Hidden Village, NPC ruled or not, contains a kage, sensory types and high ranking shinobi. Not ever can someone 'completely surprise' a Village with a 33 heads force. Pain failed to do so in Naruto, so adding more people certainly won't make it easier (too much cooks spoil the broth).
Someone else past through this area recently...: [x]. Check travel route.
-> "A group of ANBU" - Squads are traditionally made in members of four. Does this mean the 'full force' consists of 4 ANBU + 2 PCs? Iwa's gates state 33 at the very least. Posts clearly lack/contradict information on the full force of the shinobi. IC or OOCly, this is a poor execution of war preparation. We'll assume the full force of 33 people passed through here based on Iwa's gate post which I suppose holds the correct numbers.
Someone is here...: [x] Check route.
Shino and Akari moved from Kumogakure to escort a caravan going this direction. We are now travelling through the land and about to reach the Hidden Village with the caravan. Got to build up that experience...
Extra:
-> Since there are no posts about the passing assault in Takigakure, we'll assume nothing else but movement happened in the area.
-> Since no post describes a stealthy travel approach or other explanation how 33 people execute a travel route taking days, we'll assume a 'normal, humane approach' of travel took place: by foot, at casual pace, no stealth, no chakra.
-> This is strengthened by assumed strategic insights on the invading side despite this not having been written out: how they surpass the defences of a Hidden Village, their Sensory or how they deal with unknown/uncharted lands despite millennia of human history telling us attackers are strategically at a 4 to 1 disadvantage against defenders living in a (naturally) defended area they are more than familiar with. We'll assume they did everything to avoid fatigue/chakra expenditure to deal with such aprojectact of war - in other words: travel at a normal, enduring pace. Got to be fresh and able by the time the troops arrive at destination.
-> Assuming the shinobi did not travel by road (following anime travel tradition here. Historically, shinobi preferred travel by road under a disguise), it is simply impossible to travel without leaving marks unless you somehow can deny 'touch' or interaction with the environment. This would either mean chakra expenditure or flight. Former was assumed to be preserved, latter would be ridiculous for a 33 man invasion. Better be a travelling circus then, no offence.
Personal remark:
-> Because of the lack of description in the preparations/assault of the Village, there are too many assumptions needing to be made. I suggest any future assault on areas/villages to have a minimum wc which must include full strategy/aftermath to avoid this lacklustre approach.
Likewise, I suggest a longer OOC duration for suchprojectsacts of war to take place - a bare minimum of 1 week, preferably even 2 weeks. This to pull it more realistically in line with travel time/implant recovery time. A 1 day OOC invasion time leaves a ridiculously low window for anyone else to assist/pick up or play upon such a grand scale impact as the assault of a main Hidden Village - NPC ruled or not.
