    Beachside Crafting Empty Beachside Crafting

    Lily looked at the shore as she sat on the sand; the endless blue that was the ocean something Lily still wasn't quite used to. Sure, she had learned how to swim, fought an ox-topus on the very ocean itself, and had a contract with birds who swam instead of flew...but something about those endless blue waters... Something about them made Lily think about more then she liked to, to focus on things she was not ready or willing to face yet. They were beautiful, divine even; yet for the Child of Vandal it also beckoned her to grow up.

    "Hey dood! Forge is ready!"

    Lily would turn her head to the penguin that spoke with a smile. A makeshift forge had been set up by a few of her penguins with the basic tools Lily would need to work with. Hammers of various sizes, a furnace, a portable anvil; they really had gone all out for this one. They even hardened the sand below her mini workshop with water, giving Lily a good place to stand as she worked. "Thank you thank you! Dismissed for now, have fun in the water!" She'd watch as a lot of the penguins waddled off into the water while a few simply poofed. They were good souls these penguins, always trying to give her the best.

    Pulling out a little notebook Lily would flip through it. In it were drawings of weapons, from her classic knives to shortswords to katanas and bows. Lily had been hard at work trying to recall the various weapons she had seen over the years and was trying to recreate them, to see why some people liked certain weapons while hating others. While knives were her favorite, Lily could see the appeal of a sword's reach, the power behind an axe or hammer, and the javelin's pole-ness. But there were plenty more weapons churning in the depths of Lily's mind, and she wanted to make as many as she could. Even if she couldn't use them properly, it would give her and her penguins a unique advantage. Putting on her thick leather apron and goggles, Lily would begin her crafting journey; the sounds of the shoreline in the background as she did so.

    Lily sighed as she looked at her finished creations. They were good, but she was sure she could do better. Her Bestest Knives made that point clear, yet as she let the forge die down she knew that she'd need an upgrade in due time. Looking to her penguin assistants, she'd give them a sign that it was time for them to wind down in the form of four fingers that switched into a thumb and poof.

    Still, even if it wasn't her best work, these were in a way prototypes that could still function. She didn't feel the need to test some of them, Shuriken and Caltrops were fairly standard weapons, but others she had only seen in the pit on rare occasions. Taking the Meteor Hammer in hand, she'd begin to practice, using the bandages on her arms to lessen the sting of the chain as it slid over her arms. The Kusarigama had a similar issue, but between the two she preferred the hammer for stealth. As for the Flail...it wasn't her style, but like the Warhammer sometimes you needed a weapon to bust through armor, or at least make an impact. Of all the weapons though, the hook swords, ooooh baby. The penguins had mostly finished packing everything up when she tested them, and while she certainly didn't have the full understanding of how to wield them together, being able to double one's reach by hooking swords together got her blood going.

    Eventually though, the weapon testing ended and the penguins packed up their tools. Lily would give them hugs and wave them off, the group disappearing in a poof of smoke.

    Leaving Lily alone again.

    But that was okay.

    She didn't mind.

    Not.
    At.
    All.

    {Exit}
