Activating her sensory as a precaution now that the fight was on, Kimiko's sharingan was able to easily keep up with Ren's hand seals, the combination of both giving her an idea of the scope of the Wood release as he was about to use it. The wood began to spread out across the ground, but Kimiko was already charging up a use of her Amaterasu and coating the ground in 50 meters around her in each direction with it as the wood began to sprout. She was able to spread the flames faster than the wood was moving and growing, which effectively cut off the power of the technique before it could take root fully. It was trying to grow just as fast as the Amaterasu she'd launched was consuming it. Like Ren though, she made sure not to spread the flames out of the boundaries of their match, not wanting to cause damage to any of the spectators.
This might not be a good thing for any other user of Amaterasu, as the flames were usually weak enough that a sufficiently durable technique wouldn't be immediately overpowered. However, Kimiko was a special case. She had a natural affinity towards Katon already and was able to optimize it with chakra efficiency, but as she'd developed her abilities, she'd noticed that her Katon was also more powerful, including Amaterasu.
This culminated in her Amaterasu's flames more or less equaling out with the strongest of techniques as fast as she could burn them. She activated Kagutsuchi in her other eye, and the black (and white) flames danced around her body in a protective shield, never touching her but acting as a perfect defense in the moment. This was more so that her own flames wouldn't be an issue for herself than anything else, but it had the added benefit of protecting her from most assaults.
She didn't know the full power of the Truth Seeking Balls, so she prepared herself for them coming at her with a simple enough plan: Dodge where she could, and hit them hard where she could. She shifted into a classic Kendo stance, the shield of flames moving around her body and weapon harmlessly to her. Dashing to the left as the three orbs launched towards her from different directions, Kimiko targeted the one that was on that side of her dash, enhancing her body with the full power of the Curse of Hatred, imagining the orb was Satomi.
Kimiko's strike wouldn't cleave through the orb, rendering it destroyed as she'd hoped, but she carried on with her momentum using the force of the clash and the orb to spin passed it, whipping out one of her FTG marked Kunai and hurling it off to the right as hard as she could with the momentum, arcing it up and away from her. She could launch something about 110 meters in a straight line, so arcing up should end up with the kunai landing some 400 meters away from them, although if there was a target, she wasn't hitting it accurately for sure. Something she'd observed about their movement was that they only traveled linearly when launched, as well as they seemed entirely unaffected by the flames of Amaterasu. Anywhere they touched, her flames dissipated, although Kimiko was able to re-establish the flames there as she maintained her techniques.
This was good information to have, even if she lost. He had some sort of nullification with those orbs, and while she couldn't damage them, her weapon was fine, which likely meant her armor was equally protected, although she had a feeling based on how hard it was to cut through them, she wouldn't be doing so. Even this early in the match, she was fully analyzing everything and gleaning information.
At this stage though, Kimiko was mostly gathering intelligence though. The sheer amount of chakra he was flinging at her was insane. That would likely be a problem at some point, the battlefield wasn't large enough for her to fully defend against too many techniques at once, especially if he made more and more clones. She could make some herself, but it wasn't without cost to do so, her chakra pool wasn't outrageous like Ren's was. She couldn't afford to be as flippant. Dodge, defend, analyze for openings and exploit when able.

A-Tier: 250m
S-Tier: 500m

Classification: Sensory Ninjutsu

Base: None
Focused: Touch
Requirements: Sensory Skill
Description: The Sensing Technique is the basic method of Sensory that is automatically granted once the Sensory Skill is unlocked. Perception determines the potency of the user's ability, extending the range as listed above. The classic use of sensory is almost a passive ability, requiring only that the cost be paid to maintain awareness. There is also a focused variation through which the user can double the range by making physical contact with an object via the hands or fingers. Whichever object is touched is the medium for range extension, meaning that beyond the original range value, only things making contact with the medium can be detected. This medium is almost always the ground.
The medium doesn't need to be the ground, and while using the ability inside a building will transmit one's sensing across all walls, floors, ceilings, and the ground upon which the building stands, there are other structures which may not be tied to the ground. Using this inside a blimp or other aircraft, for example, will extend the user's range over the aircraft, up to the maximum range, which may well cover the entire aircraft. Given that an aircraft isn't making contact with anything, the user's sensory range will be limited to that aircraft.
The Sensing Technique allows the user to perceive any of the following about any target within range: total and current chakra level, elements, exact location, and whether or not they have a kkg. However, they can only know if the target has a KKG if the user has encountered that KKG's chakra in the past. The technique is also able to detect whether any of the targets are under the influence of Genjutsu, as well as if the user himself is under the influence of Genjutsu.
Drawbacks: Focusing the range forces one to remain in place. Anything not making contact with the medium cannot be sensed with the extended range; this won't help them if they're within the base range, however, as they can still be sensed as normal. The Sensing Technique is not a passive process and will require activation; if the cost is not being paid, the technique is not active. This technique is also required as a prerequisite for most Sensory-related techniques and abilities, excluding only a certain few. This cannot be used to ascertain stacked Genjutsu, only whichever Genjutsu the target/user is suffering from at that particular moment.
Name: Amaterasu
Rank: A
Range: Sight (50 Meter Maximum)
Speed: Equal to User's Perception
Element: Katon
Skill: Ninjutsu
Classification: Open
Requirements: Mangekyou Sharingan
Hand Seals: None
Description: This technique is considered the height of Fire Release Ninjutsu, as it casts upon the focal point of the user's vision black flames that will burn and consume all they touch for seven days and seven nights. The fire is cast from the eye with the same Speed as the user's Perception when bolstered by the Sharingan, which can make it quite deadly when used by fresh eyes. As the Uchiha's vision deteriorates, however, so, too, does Amaterasu's Speed.
Level 1: The beginning stage for all that awaken Mangekyou Sharingan that possess the power of "fires from hell". The user is able to release the deadly flames at any point in view, and they will burn the target and anything touching the target until it is gone. One shot per use.
Level 2: After four uses of the first level, the user will automatically progress to this stage, where he is now able to release up to five shots per use in rapid succession, greatly increasing the chances of hitting a moving target. Each of these five flames will do as the first level: burn everything they touch for seven days and nights or until nothing is left to burn. The user is now able to forcefully extinguish those flames, if desired, using this level.
Level 3: With four uses of the second level, the user is now able to direct existing flames to any desired target at the Speed of his Perception. Visual acuity generally begins to fall by this point, however, so Amaterasu may not move quite as fast as it initially could, but the damage it can cause becomes tremendously widespread with the power of this level.
Weaknesses: The black flames may burn anything, even water, but they are slow to do so and may be escaped with that weakness. Amaterasu cast upon clothing or chakra can be cast aside so long as that which it touches is removed from the target, but be careful not to touch any part of the flames, lest they spread to the flesh and the target be forced to remove parts of themselves to be free of a grim fate. Because this fire is cast with the Speed of the user's Perception, it is possible that it may be avoided, by keeping out of the user's visual focal point, or by outrunning it as it spreads. Amaterasu can only be spawned 50 meters away from the user although it may spread from there.
Name: Kagutsuchi
Rank: A
Upkeep Cost: 5
Range: Sight
Speed: Equal to the User's Perception
Element: Katon
Skill: Ninjutsu
Classification: Open
Requirements: Mangekyou Sharingan
Parent Technique: Amaterasu: Level 3
Hand Seals: None
Description: This is a technique based on manipulating and applying shape transformation to the mighty black flames of Amaterasu, making full combat use of the most powerful Katon Ninjutsu in existence. This Mangekyou ability grants access to the Enton line of techniques, those of an element specifically designed for Amaterasu and its ever burning fire.
Level 1: When an Uchiha has achieved Level 3 of the Amaterasu in one eye, the other eye will awaken this level of power. The flames of Amaterasu can now be shaped into a shield around the user's body, granting access to the Amaterasu: Flame Wrapping Fire technique and allowing the user to now register custom Enton techniques of a strictly defensive nature.
Level 2: After four uses of Level 1, the user is now able to fashion those dark flames into weapons, to be held either by the user or by the user's Susano'o, neither of which will be burned by them. This is one of the most powerful applications, as fashioning arrows and swords can doom a target with just one hit. The Enton: Honoikazuchi and Enton: Susano'o Kagutsuchi techniques are now available, as well as any custom jutsu the user wishes to register relating to weaponry and similarly offensive applications.
Level 3: Using the second level four times progresses the user to the point that his shape transformation over Amaterasu has reached the pinnacle, and he is now able to combine that black fire with any technique desired, casting Amaterasu alongside, say, a Great Fireball and forcing the darker flames to wrap around the lesser orange ones, enhancing the technique to devastating proportions. There is virtually no limit to the types of custom jutsu the user can create, now.
Weaknesses: This ability requires the other eye to be Amaterasu, and very much depends upon its ability to cast the technique. So, once that other eye is blind, this one becomes useless. Fortunately, the user need not always pay the cost of this technique when using one of the derived, and may instead use their cost. Also a plus is that this ability only diminishes the user's Perception for the post it is used in, and not how many times it was used during that post. However, given that each application of this ability is a technique of some form, it can get to be extremely costly. Generally, the only weakness of this technique is overexertion of the user or when facing an opponent that can also cast Amaterasu, as their flames cannot be manipulated by this technique and it may cause confusion on the user's part in determining which flames can be manipulated.
Name: Amaterasu: Flame Wrapping Fire
Rank: C
Power: A
Upkeep Cost: 3 Points
Range: Self
Speed: Equal to User's Perception
Element: Enton
Skill: Ninjutsu
Classification: Open
Requirements: Amaterasu
Parent Technique: Kagutsuchi
Hand Seals: None
Description: With this technique, the user can manifest the black flames of Amaterasu as a shielding aura around himself, deterring any melee range attacks lest the enemy be wrought with the unending fires. This technique can also be applied over the ribs of Susano'o, combining this elemental defense with a physical one, thereby furthering the user's resistance to damage.
Weaknesses: The fires are not physically able to stop anything from passing through, causing their greatest use to require an active Susano'o. However, a Susano'o that manifests as more than a ribcage will be too big for the flames to cover, reducing their effectiveness to only things which pass through Susano'o.
