Name: Dancing Petal Armor
Item Rank: A
Material Rank: A
Units Used: Chakra Draining Metal (5) 75,000, Wood (10) 1000
Description: A modified set of robes that has extra folds and fasteners for plates of armor to be attached. These lightweight plates are made of mostly treated planks of wood but have smaller plates of steel slipped within them and once fastened hang loosely, only being clipped at the top and in the middle of their undersides. The purpose of these folds and odd attachments is when falling within the robes or when using the Petal’s Dance technique outlined below, namely to inflate the flaps and provide a level of control to the user. Without the Petal’s Dance technique the user is simply able to slow themselves from any sort of free fall they find themselves in without much control if upright, if the conditions are favorable such as a lack of intense wind. This falling requires a conscious effort to initiate with the user flapping their robes to allow themselves to catch the air and begin floating.
With the Petal’s Dance active the user imposes a -1 Tier Debuff to Strength for the purposes of strikes against the armor. All Futon hand sign requirements are also halved while active.
Chakra Draining Metal Effect: A unique metal, when forged, allows chakra drain 5 points of Chakra upon contact with an opponent's chakra system. This is not absorption.
Requirement: Futon
Attunement Slot: Yes
Crafting Time: -
Yield: Unique
Derived Custom Technique:
Name: Petal’s Dance
Rank: B
Power: C-B
Activation Cost: 10
Upkeep Cost: 5
Range: Self | 10 meters
Speed: -
Element: Futon
Skill: Ninjutsu
Classification: Secret
Requirements: Dancing Petal Armor set
Parent Technique: -
Hand Seals: -
Description: Initiated with a gust of wind that courses through the Dancing Petal Armor set the user maintains a constant flow of Futon chakra through their armor that enhances their maneuverability and ability to control their direction while floating. Increase the user’s Speed to +1 Tier. When an opponent lands a physical blow to their armor the user is able to spend the Activation Cost to release a burst of wind to flap the armor plating in deflection, reducing the impact of the Strength by an additional --. Combined with the armor’s -1 Tier if the user’s Strength is higher than the target’s then they are sent flying back ten meters.
While floating the user can now slowly glide in a direction of their choosing with little effort, but does not move at the user's Speed whilst doing so.
Weaknesses: Being that the fuel for their technique is Futon chakra the armor is made quite susceptible to Katon as well as fire in general. Fire of any magnitude wouldn’t outright destroy the armor but would seriously damage it, with low to higher levels of Katon being able to damage it beyond conventional repair within a topic in terms of the abilities it affords.
