A MAD SCIENTIST'S RESEARCH SAGA PT. 4 (ROTWANG, SOLO, COMPLETE)

It had been a while since Rotwang's latest adventures and this latest one had come in the form of his awakening from his coma at long last. During this adventure, he had been visited by his squad's commanding officer, a female jōnin named "Shigo Kazehana" who had brought him back up to speed on what he had missed while he was at the hospital during his coma. Since then, he had gotten back to the grind of his daily life which meant involving himself either voluntarily or involuntarily in various activities. These various activities included things such as attending to his ninja studies, accompanying his parents with all the routine inspections that they did of their mafia family's various business assets, going to mingle with the heirs as well as the heiresses of other families which were also ultra-rich and highly influential similar to his own, and naturally also immersing himself in the pursuit of his various interests.

The chief among these was none other than his two true loves. More specifically, these two were his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research studies as well as his similarly long-standing and ever-increasing fascination with all things related to pop culture, history, and mythology. Of course, these relatively peaceful days that he had been enjoying to some degree came to an end in a manner that was as surreal as it was abrupt. This interruption came in the form of a memo scroll that was brought to him by one of his maids

Hmm...what is this memo scroll about? Another one of those summons that I often receive from my parents? Is it another invite to some gala? Is it some project that I have been assigned to do by the Kage's Office? Whatever the case may end up being, I hope it will not become too tedious...as that would be...truly irksome...

Rotwang thought thus silently as he stirred awake from beneath the veritable mountain of research notes, medical and surgical textbooks, piles upon piles of failed model designs for puppets and other non-puppet gadgets, experimental chemical concoction recipes, and so on. He had immersed himself in furthering his mad science research studies since this was one of his rare days away from the usual hustle and bustle of his daily life and academic work and at some point, fallen asleep without realizing it due to his penchant for willfully ignoring his bodily needs, especially that for sleep, and that was why he now found himself amidst the rather chaotic environment which was his private lab.

After he managed to finally drag himself out from underneath this heap of stuff he had been lying under within the confines of said private lab which he had set up to be located on the grounds of his family's home in the residential district of Iwagakure. Then, as Rotwang perused the memo scroll's contents after receiving them from the personal maid who had come to deliver it to him, he realized that it was a memo that he had written to himself to remind himself that he had to start exploring the various jutsu from each of the basic three ninja art forms, namely "Ninjutsu", "Genjutsu", and "Taijutsu" to ensure the robustness of his fundamental ninja arts.

With that in mind, he then set about readying himself for the day's work that lay ahead of him, specifically for starting down this path to explore the aforementioned jutsu series as comprehensively as possible. Naturally, he chose to don his puppet armor as well as his usual physician-scientist attire since it was his default attire choice. After that, he informed his personal support staff of maids and butlers about his intended destination and then, he headed off to said locale, namely "The Stone Yard" which served as the village's training grounds.

Once there, Rotwang wasted no time in getting down to devising a plan of action for how he wanted to go about exploring and mastering the various jutsu he had in mind

Hmm...it would probably be wise to start with jutsu from the list of non-elemental ninjutsu and work my way forward from there to whatever else catches my eye...So, with that in mind, ah yes, the "Haze Clone Technique" should be a nice and easy start...

Rotwang mused thus silently as he began running through the jutsu performance steps as indicated by the part of the ninjutsu scroll dedicated to its teaching. Once that was done, he then focused his attention on bringing this information to the forefront of his mind

So the idea is to create illusory clones of oneself and send them to distract the enemy and while that is happening, the user is to attack from the target's blind spot...

Rotwang silently mulled over how to do the "Haze Clone Technique" one more time and set about practicing it in real time. To start, he began making the hand signs for it, namely the Dog followed by the Tiger, and that worked to direct his chakra out of his body and into the environment of the room he was in and in said room, there now appeared 10 of these illusory clones of himself

Good...now for the coordination training...I need precision timing for this jutsu to function as a distraction according to its intended design...

Rotwang mused thus silently as he brought out a pair of kunai knives and simultaneously, each of the illusory clones also brought out kunai knives of their own. Then, he threw the kunai at a training dummy located about 5 m away and his illusory clones followed suit a few seconds later. Naturally, this could not satisfy Rotwang as he wanted it to be perfect coordination between himself and the illusory clones, and so, he kept up the practice, eventually getting the timing perfectly synced to said clones

Now that I have the timing down pat...perhaps I should test if there are any angular limitations to this jutsu...and after that, it would perhaps be wise to test the maximum range of this jutsu as well...

Rotwang thought thus silently on how to proceed with finishing his learning of the "Haze Clone Technique" and as per this plan, he first picked up the kunai he had thrown and after returning to his position 5 m away from the training dummy, he threw the kunai time and again, each time varying the angle by a few degrees from his previous attempt. Interestingly enough as he learned from his observations of his attempts, he eventually managed to make his illusory clones match his throws at varied angles each time. Finally, he tried to create the 10 illusory clones produced by this jutsu at ranges of 2 m away, followed by 4, 6, and 8 and finally found out that 10 m was the maximum range for this jutsu. Thus, he finished learning the "Haze Clone Technique" successfully.

After having committed the Haze Clone Technique's performance details to memory, Rotwang then proceeded to mull over which jutsu on the list to train next

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu would be best for the next field test and it could perhaps prove useful when combined with the "Chakra Suppression" jutsu I already know...

With this in mind, Rotwang started to remember the steps he had read on performing the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...the key to this is finding an adequately shaded spot in the surrounding area...and then, the body seemingly merges to be one with the darkness therein using chakra to enact this simple camouflage...but first...

Rotwang mused thus silently and then began by setting up an external detector for enabling physical presence detection testing and another external detector which he intended to be used for chakra presence detection after he had activated the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu. After ensuring that these were set up a few paces away from him, he looked for and found a large pillar supporting the ceiling of the room he was in which was just big enough to cast a spacious shadowy area. So, he headed there and after entering the shadowy area, he proceeded to perform the Tiger hand sign to activate the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu he had set about training for this round of the day's agenda. Upon activating it, he saw how his body seemed to be covered over by the shadows around him thanks to the jutsu's function and then, he looked to the detector he had set up earlier to check whether it could sense and locate his physical presence. As was predicted by the jutsu's description in the scroll, however, the detector in question could not detect his physical presence since he had the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu active

Okay, so my physical presence has been obscured successfully with this jutsu, but what about my chakra presence?

Rotwang thought silently as he looked to the other detector that he had set up earlier to check the detection of his chakra presence this time. Again, as predicted by the jutsu's description in the scroll, this second detector was able to pick up on his chakra signature despite the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu still being active at this point

Ah, so it would be wise to assume that this jutsu cannot be used to hide from anyone or anything with a special sensory ability, let alone dojutsu...it would be wise for me to be careful when choosing to use it then...

Rotwang thought silently once more as he analyzed the results of his training in the use of the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu. With that, Rotwang's learning of the "Hiding in Shadows" jutsu was complete and he stopped briefly again to analyze the results some more and to commit them to memory.

After having committed the Hiding in Shadows Technique's performance details to memory, Rotwang then proceeded to mull over which jutsu on the list to train next

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu would be best for the next field test since it could be useful for when I have to fight at range...

With this in mind, Rotwang started to remember the steps he had read on performing the "Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...the key to this is throwing the projectile in question and then immediately following that up with the activation of the jutsu...since picking up and throwing a projectile after it has been enlarged by this jutsu would certainly be beyond my rather average level of physical strength at present...but since it is called "Shuriken Giant Body", is it always compatible with shuriken only or can it be combined with any other type of projectile that can be commonly deployed? Then there is the question of the size amplification limit...so the first milestone is twice the original size...

Rotwang mused thus silently and then brought out a single shuriken and threw it at a training dummy that was located about 2 m away from his location a split second later, he performed the hand signs for the "Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu, namely first the Tiger followed by the Rabbit and finishing off with the Dog. This caused his chakra to be emitted towards the flying shuriken and enlarged it to twice its original size and consequently, the shuriken ended up embedding itself deep in the target training dummy's head

So...the projectile's velocity does not suffer when affected by this jutsu, eh? That is certainly a rather useful feature, indeed...now commencing with the next milestone of size amplification...

Rotwang mused thus silently and canceled the jutsu before going and picking up the shuriken he had just thrown to reuse it. Then, he returned to his original location 2 m away from the now headless training dummy and then threw the shuriken again, but this time, he set the "Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu to activate and amplify the shuriken's size by 3 times the original size and ended up tearing off one of the dummy's limbs. Then, he repeated this procedure, and in this same manner,  his practice of the size amplification continued steadily with throw after throw and increment after increment until he finally found that the jutsu had a maximum size amplification limit of 10 times the original size, and once he had reached this stage, the thrown shuriken ended up almost completely decimating the training dummy to mere splinters

Excellent...and it seems that this jutsu can be employed at a max range of 15 m away from my location after the targeted projectile has been deployed...now to see whether it works with any other projectile type besides just shuriken...

In this regard, Rotwang tried it out with the kunai he had on him, and it worked with them as well, which led him to make a mental note to remind himself to purchase some senbon next time to test this jutsu's potential further. With that, his learning of the "Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu was complete, and he stopped briefly yet again to analyze the results and commit them to memory.

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Body of Bear" jutsu would be best for the next field test since it could be useful when the opponent(s) happen to be Taijutsu practitioners and maybe even weapon specialists...

With this in mind, Rotwang started to remember the steps he had read on performing the "Body of Bear" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...so this is a basic Taijutsu form that is designed to make the user's body more durable...perhaps the mechanized training dummies can be used as practice opponents for testing this...

Rotwang mused thus silently and then began his training of this jutsu by practicing the direction and infusion of his chakra into his body's musculature. Then, once he was sure he had the basics down, he headed over to one of the mechanized training dummies in the room and activated its training protocol, calibrating it for basic Taijutsu only for this first round of testing. Then, he activated the "Body of Bear" jutsu for real and while doing so, he focused his attention on how the chakra he was directing into his musculature was managing to harden it rapidly. Then, he allowed the training dummy to strike at him a few times, but thanks to the effect of this Taijutsu, he barely received any physical damage and the dummy failed to knock him over despite how rapidly it was spinning at present

Ah...so, this jutsu hypertrophies the musculature for the duration of its activity such that they can be solid enough to take purely physical impacts...and that is the case since this jutsu turns the body's musculature into a brace against such attacks...but the next feature to test for this jutsu is if it can be used to withstand non-physical attacks too...

Musing thus silently further, Rotwang canceled the "Body of Bear" jutsu and then proceeded to calibrate the training dummy to perform elemental ninjutsu against him, his choice this time being Fire-style ninjutsu. Then, he activated the "Body of Bear" jutsu to see if he could use it to defend against the incoming Fire-style ninjutsu, but alas, he received a fair few burns from taking the attack. Then, he proceeded to test the effect of the "Body of Bear" jutsu against Wind-style, and once again, this Taijutsu failed to protect him from it. In closing, however, he did discover that ninjutsu with physical presence such as Earth-style could be blocked with the "Body of Bear" jutsu. With that, his learning of the Body of Bear jutsu was complete and he stopped briefly yet again to analyze the results and commit them to memory.

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Rising Side Kick" jutsu would be best for the next field test...

With this in mind, Rotwang started to remember the steps he had read on performing the "Rising Side Kick" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...so this technique focuses on destabilizing the enemy via the use of a straightforward side-kick from a still position...perhaps the mechanized training dummies can be used as practice opponents for testing this...

Rotwang mused thus silently and then began his training of this jutsu by practicing each of the basic, step-by-step, directional motions used for it. Then, once he was sure he had the basics down, he headed over to one of the mechanized training dummies in the room and activated its training protocol, calibrating it for basic Taijutsu only for this first round of testing. Then, he activated the "Rising Side Kick" jutsu for real, and while doing so, he focused his attention on getting into a standstill position and then launching his leg swiftly from said standstill position into a 6-7' high side-swipe kick at most. After that, he stopped briefly to mentally review the results of this initial field testing

I see...so this technique would allow me to even hit targets that happen to be taller than myself due to the exact methodology of its performance...This will be quite a useful jutsu indeed, but it seems that specializing in the Taijutsu discipline will be necessary if I am to bring out this jutsu's full potential, so that is a consideration to bear in mind when devising my action plans for the foreseeable future...

Musing thus silently further, Rotwang canceled the "Rising Side Kick" jutsu and then, after he rested briefly, he proceeded to conduct more trial runs with this jutsu, ranging from the variance of lower limb acceleration speed to the maximum his body would allow to the specific leg with which he attempted the performance of this jutsu to the variance of target height and beyond. With that, his learning of the "Rising Side Kick" jutsu was complete and he stopped briefly yet again to analyze the results and commit them to memory.

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Spring Chant" jutsu would be best for the next field test since it seems to empower a different aspect of my Taijutsu, namely speed and dexterity rather than durability and strength...

With this in mind, Rotwang started remembering the steps he had read on performing the "Spring Chant" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...so this is a basic Taijutsu which is designed to make the user's body more dexterous, perhaps to use the opponent's physical force against them...perhaps the mechanized training dummies can be used as practice opponents for testing this...

Rotwang mused thus silently and then began his training of this jutsu by practicing the direction and infusion of his chakra into his body's musculature. Then, once he was sure he had the basics down, he headed over to one of the mechanized training dummies in the room and activated its training protocol, calibrating it for basic Taijutsu only for this first round of testing. Then, he activated the "Spring Chant" jutsu for real, and while doing so, he focused his attention on how the chakra he was directing into his musculature was causing it to twitch faster and more frequently as well

Interesting, perhaps this Taijutsu is designed to alter the ratio of the various types of muscle fibers in the user's body...

Then, Rotwang allowed the training dummy to strike at him a few times, but thanks to the effect of this Taijutsu, he managed to evade the dummy's attacks rather than block them this time and even managed to use said Taijutsu to reverse the spin of the dummy, albeit only for a brief second, by using a series of grappling maneuvers, redirection methods, reversal forms, and so on, all according to the basic Taijutsu principles which he had learned during his stint at the Academy. Due to the "Spring Chant" jutsu empowering his dexterity and maneuverability, the dummy failed to knock him over despite how rapidly it was spinning at present. With that, his learning of the "Spring Chant" jutsu was complete and he stopped briefly yet again to analyze the results and commit them to memory.

After having committed the Spring Chant taijutsu's performance details to memory, Rotwang then proceeded to mull over which jutsu on the list to train next

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps now it is a good time to switch my proverbial gears back to exploring some more non-elemental ninjutsu since I have gotten my fill of Taijutsu for a couple of rounds at least...So, with that in mind...perhaps it would be wise to explore the mechanics of the "Focused Amplification" jutsu...followed by "Genjutsu Kai"...and after that...

With this in mind, Rotwang started remembering the steps that he had read on performing the "Focused Amplification" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...so this is a technique designed to intensify a jutsu's inherent power and enhance its reach and velocity too, eh? Interesting...and it needs the Snake hand sign added at the very end of the amplified jutsu's hand sign series...sounds simple enough...Ah, this could be used to great effect when combined with the "Ninja Art: Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu that came up some rounds ago in today's field-testing agenda...

With that thought in mind, Rotwang took out a shuriken and aimed for a training dummy in the room which was 16.5 m away from him for the first trial run of the "Focused Amplification" jutsu after which point, he threw the shuriken at said dummy. Then, a split second afterward, he began the Tiger-Rabbit-Dog series of hand signs which were needed to activate the "Ninja Art: Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu, and added the Snake hand sign at the end as per the training scroll's directions regarding the "Focused Amplification" jutsu. Then, as he observed onward to see the results of this combination, he noticed that the "Focused Amplification" jutsu caused more of his chakra to be poured into the flying shuriken which was not only enlarged to the usual 10 times the size of the original but also began traveling far faster too. Consequently, he saw that the enlarged shuriken was able to easily tear a wide split in the training dummy due to the explosive increase in size and velocity it had received from the combination of the "Ninja Art: Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu and the "Focused Amplification" jutsu.

Impressive...this IS a useful jutsu...and it does not cost too much more than the original due to being the same rank in difficulty...but still, I had better be careful about picking the right situation in which to use this combo...

Musing thus silently, Rotwang prepared himself to do more trial runs with his intended learning target for this round, namely the "Focused Amplification" jutsu. To that end, he proceeded to test the range increase at 15% next and followed that up by testing it at 20%, 25%, and so on in order until finally, he found this jutsu could only enhance the range of his "Ninja Art: Shuriken Giant Body" jutsu up to a maximum of 50% while the velocity increase seemed to remain constant and unaltered with each use. Thus, he was able to learn the "Focused Amplification" jutsu successfully and then, he stopped briefly to review the data he had gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials again.

Hmm...what next...ah, perhaps the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu would be best for the next field test since it will be necessary to have it available for use against those opponents who happen to be Genjutsu users...

With this in mind, Rotwang started remembering the steps that he had read on performing the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

So the idea is for the user of this jutsu to flood a concentrated chakra burst into their brain to expel the foreign chakra which is inducing the Genjutsu in question, eh? What an intriguing jutsu, indeed...this will be quite useful for those situations wherein I might need to face off against Genjutsu users...normal ones, anyway...

Rotwang mused silently thus briefly as he headed over to the training ground's site stop to borrow a Genjutsu casting device so that he could use it in the imminent "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu training that he was planning to undertake shortly. Then, he returned to the area in the training grounds that he had been using till now and set up the device he had borrowed swiftly. After setting it up, he flipped the switch on the side of the device to activate it and let it cast a basic D-rank Genjutsu, specifically, the "Demonic Illusion: Hell's Viewing" on him to commence the trial run for the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu that he intended to test now. Then, he focused his attention on studying the characteristics of the Genjutsu he was now under the influence of, which specifically took the form of an illusion that depicted a pack of snarling, rather rabid-looking dogs and wolves that were circling him. However, that proved to be a bad idea since he could now feel nigh-instinctual panic starting to rise inside him as a singular and certain unsavory memory from his past started to bubble up to the forefront of his mind unbidden, due to the mental assault of the "Demonic Illusion: Hell's Viewing" Genjutsu on him

Egads...not this memory again...curses, of all the Genjutsu this thing could have initiated, it had to be one involving that old memory...but, it is imperative to NOT give in to this oncoming terror...

Rotwang thought with a deep frown now contorting his face and then, he quickly tried to reorient his mind into its usual calm and composed state with a forceful exertion of his will. Then, he continued his study of the genjutsu in question, committing to memory the somewhat nebulous appearance of the illusory canines now circling him appeared to him, thus distinguishing them at a basic level from physically corporeal ones as an easy tell for this genjutsu. After he succeeded in doing that, he then set him to the task of testing out the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu that he intended to learn now.

Now then, commencing this field test, summon chakra...concentrate it...and finally unleash it in an intense burst into the brain to wash out the foreign chakra...

Reminding himself of the steps to the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu, Rotwang then summoned up a moderate amount of his chakra from the depths of his being to the point that he could feel it would be enough to cancel out a D-rank Genjutsu like the "Demonic Illusion: Hell's Viewing" and after concentrating it as much as possible, he focused his consciousness upon it, exerting his will with as much force as possible while performing the Tiger handsign to activate the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu to guide his concentrated chakra as a focused burst into his brain to cast out the invasive foreign chakra emanating at him from the Genjutsu training apparatus. It was then that he felt the sensation of being released from the currently active negative influence of the "Demonic Illusion: Hell's Viewing" Genjutsu on him and watched as the illusory canines disappeared from his field of view, vanishing swiftly into nothing while the surrounding scenery came back into sharp focus once again. Then, he proceeded to rinse and repeat his field testing of the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu several times more until he felt satisfied with his familiarity with it, after which he stopped briefly to review the data he had gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials again.

After having committed the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu's performance details to memory, Rotwang then proceeded to mull over which jutsu on the list to train next

Hmm...what next...that brief foray into countering Genjutsu was rather stressful to bear, mentally speaking...meaning that perhaps, it would be wise to go back to training in Taijutsu for the remainder of today's jutsu field-testing session before closing the proverbial book on the matter...So, with that in mind...ah, maybe the "Rising Scissor Kick" taijutsu would be best for the next field test...followed by the "Rising Defense Kick" taijutsu to finish off this field testing...

With this in mind, Rotwang started remembering the steps that he had read on performing the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

Hmm...so this is a technique meant to make user raise their leg into a position that is 180° into the air from a standstill position, and then it involves dropping said leg/foot onto an opponent...It would also seem that this jutsu can also be used while jumping, which makes it even more useful as a tool in combat...That sounds simple enough to learn for this round...

With that thought in mind, Rotwang practiced the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu several times without using the training dummy so that he could get the motions right, and then, he headed over to the training dummy to test out this jutsu for real. Once there, he took up the standstill stance mentioned in the jutsu scroll while ensuring to stand a few paces away from the training dummy so that his leg would have enough space to be raised to 180° in the air and then dropped down onto the dummy successfully. Consequently, the dummy was knocked over successfully and he stopped briefly to mull his handiwork while panting slightly

Impressive...this really IS a useful jutsu...and it does not cost too much due to being just D-rank in difficulty...Still, though, I had better be careful about picking the right situation in which to use this combo...since the exhaustion from it could end up accumulating rather quickly if I am not careful enough...

Musing thus silently, Rotwang prepared himself to do several more trial runs with the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu to explore its various aspects. To that end, he proceeded to test these various aspects such as the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu's leg/foot predilection by varying which leg/foot he used to execute it, its minimum required distance from the target for the jutsu to be executed successfully, and a range of positions before to leg drop to see if a full 180° was indeed required to execute this jutsu successfully. Once that was done, he simply proceeded onward to the last phase of his field testing of the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu, namely, the repetitive performance of this jutsu to build up the muscle memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, he was able to successfully learn the "Rising Scissor Kick" jutsu and then stopped to review the data he had gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials again.

With this in mind, Rotwang started remembering the steps that he had read on performing the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu from the relevant scroll for the next few moments

So the idea is for the user of this jutsu to raise their leg and use the soles of their shoes/feet to defend and redirect the attack to the ground rather than defending with their hands when facing a low ranked attack or technique of a solid nature, like a D-ranked Earth-style jutsu, for instance...or perhaps a basic Taijutsu attack...

Rotwang mused silently thus briefly and began again by practicing the basic motions that were required for the execution of this jutsu. After that, he restored the mechanized training dummy that he had knocked over earlier to an upright position again and went back to standing in close quarters to it so that he could test this jutsu for real. Once that was done, he activated the training dummy's basic Taijutsu attack sequence and performed the "Rising Defense Kick" to defend against its attack each time, with the result being that he was able to successfully use his legs and feet to block the dummy's attack each time. Then, he stopped to contemplate his handiwork

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because the training dummy is a nonliving target...now then, it is time to test out various other aspects of this jutsu...

Musing thus silently, Rotwang prepared to do more trial runs with the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. To that end, he proceeded to test the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu's lower limb predilection if any by varying which leg he used between right and left to see if there would be any difference between the results, but there ended up being none that were significant enough to pursue field testing of from there. So, he then began testing the maximum range potential for the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu and found that he could only perform it to its maximum efficiency when in close quarters to the target. Once that was done, he then simply proceeded to the last phase of his field testing of the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu, namely, the repetitive performance of this jutsu to build up the muscle memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, he was able to successfully learn the "Rising Defense Kick" jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials. After that, he ended his jutsu field-testing session for the day and headed back to his family's home in the residential district of the village, looking forward to getting back to the theoretical portion of his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research.
