New Face

Making his way to the training field Blitz was dressed in an attire unknown by many as half of his face was now concealed. He wore a one piece from his face to his waist as he sported a white sash around his waist and black pants. This black and white attire didn’t mean his navy blue hair was gone nor the eyes that came in as a matching pair matching his hair. Upon his back was his comrade a legendary blade by the name of Samehada yet on this day he also seemed prepared by coming with another one of his blades.It appeared from the tip of the carbon black blade to the hilt with a hint of blue stripped around the handle.

He only needed to train but it would be amusing to see someone push his limits but it wouldn’t be a problem to just train and grow stronger. Feeling the growl of Samehada upon his back, Blitz realized he was just tall enough to not drag the blade upon the earth. Being six foot came with the advantage. Making his way to an empty bench on the side of the training field it was easy to see the training that was done upon the field. Glittered with broken weapons tossed to the sides leaving the field barren with battle marks and between the grass.

Sitting upon the edge of the bench while Samehada hangs off for a little while on his back, Blitz simply closed his eyes waiting for anyone to show up. Cracking his neck a little he wondered who would appear on this day and how much of a shinobi would they be to spar with such a man. Yet he only cared for the thrill of battle as long as he did not hurt his fellow shinobi he was satisfied with them pushing a hundred percent at him. With a little growl from the mighty sword Blitz could only chuckle before responding.

“Soon Samehada.”

Today had been the kind of rain where the clouds had lingered over the village. Every minute or so you might feel a single drop pf rain on your forehead. These days were Toshiyuki’s favorite. Toshi had spent so much of his ninja career hiding and running from fights. The eternal genin was determined to change his fate right here and right now. He failed the chunin exams. He was useless when the world was in danger. His failures played in his mind that morning, but now he knew he could continue moping or do something about it.

Toshiyuki arrived to the training grounds with hip and thigh holsters on his thick cloth pants. Normally when he came here it wasn’t hard for Toshi to find someone to spar with. The eternal genin had a reputation. After his fight with a Kumo-nin sometime back, the eternal genin knew that he relied on his summons too much. These last few months revealed to him though that he needed them though. As far as anyone here should have known he was still easy pickings, so it was weird to him that the training grounds were so empty.

”Samehada? Hmm. Since you scared off everyone else, I hope you don’t mind dancing with me?” Toshiyuki would push back his fur lined jacket and reach to his sides and pull out his trench knives. Continuing to walk into the training field Toshi would wave Blitz over.

A new person who dawned before him came into his range of senses once he placed his foot upon the training grounds. Remaining silent he allowed this new feeling to grow closer. Samehada made no attempt to even give a signal. Maybe the one who came did not have enough to catch the attention of the great blade. Indeed training was meant to be accomplished and with this new person in front of him.

A greeting was given in the form he understood most of all through combat allowing Samehada to remain upon his back Blitz chuckled and stood up before smiling to the young shinobi. Someone new made their way into the village probably signed up to become a shinobi after witnessing the latest Bijuu attack happen. If that was the case such bravery needed to be commended. Forming one hand seal Blitz leaped back 5 meters away from his new comrade during this time releasing the jutsu.

“Welcome Home.”

Quickly consuming the area in a thick mist hiding his presence from the young shinobi but in turn giving him no options but to defend or fight. Shifting to various locations within the mist, Blitz increased the distance from him and the young shinobi by another 5 meters. Keeping that ten meter marker between the two of them was his plan but remaining hidden away from the sight of his opponent was something else.

Forming a couple of hand seals in quick succession Blitz aimed to test this young shinobi in the arts of survival. Remaining silent within this mist nothing was heard during this time it would give his opponent ideal time to think of something clever but if not the training would continue. During this time the body temperature of Burittsu would drop to zero degrees.

During this time he was ready to embrace the other shinobi wondering what he would be able to do before charging at him silently through the mist. His skin covered in frost as the ice itself began to fuse with its host quickly taking over. Blitz used only finger pointing it and aiming at the left hand of the young boy only one touch was needed. Yet he wanted to see what he would do under such pressure with this he was able to counter and be offensive whenever he wanted. Now it was only time to see and receive whatever was planned in the mind of his opponent.

Hiro. Wake up.

The thought echoed in his head as the mist rose from the damp ground. Silent killing. Toshiyuki listened in look for signs of Samehada's partner. No. There. It wasn't quite Silent Killing. Here and there Toshi would catch sight of the quickly moving ninja a brief glimpse he seemed seven maybe eight meters away with his imposing height. The genin's head was on a swivel. Eyes would occasionally snap to a spot locking onto the occasional glimpses he would get of the area that Blitz had just been in. He couldn't see him. He couldn't lock him down. Toshiyuki could already feel himself starting to think too much. His thoughts, like a poison, began to lock up his muscles, paralyzing him. What was he even supposed to do in a situation like this.

All Ryuutei possess some of the Nibi's chakra, even the clan's nameless runt. Toshi's chakra like light blue, flickering flames and embers would dance on his skin as his irises would change, one turquoise one gold. All Ryuutei. Tiger -> Monkey -> Bird -> Ox. Hopefully he would have enough time before Blitz decided to close in. His hair would extend, wrapping around him like ebony armor in a shell around him. His mind wasn't poisoning him right now, and he could feel new thoughts flow freely. This was a perfect chance to experiment. The two meter long cat limbs would extend from the shell and send out a barrage of needles. Toshi would continue to shape the hair until it formed an empty 5 meter tall, 15 meter long, all black replica of the Two-Tails. Sitting inside this shell free from the mist, he had a realization. "Huh... I can't see." Light blue flames would ripple along the large cat as he tried to think his way out of this.

Coming closer to the mark it was seen that giving him time was the right option Blitz came to a quick halt after seeing the build up of his chakra. Leaping out towards the opposite direction avoiding the projectiles that soon followed after in a fierce counterattack to push him back. Allowing the hair to do its job and protect its caster as it shaped itself to resemble the great beast that was just upon the village's range. Chuckling a bit as he watched the monument of a defense forged from the hair of the other individual. Allowing the mist to continue then rather disperse he continued to move about to various locations within the mist.

Hiding away from the gaze of his enemy. But still remaining at least 10 meters within his range during this time he could only calculate his enemy was now trapped to endure his mercy. Quickly forming the needed hand signs and clapping his hands he once more began his attack quickly expanding his domain by twenty meters. For the young shinobi who was within this jutsu a cold grasp would quickly be felt in the air as the chills of the cold would narrow its way through in hopes of entrapping the shinobi in ice.

A nonviolent jutsu but one capable of trapping anyone unwise to be on their toes when around the shinobi. Blitz watched in this mist as the frost covered ground in front of him was a clear indication that he was indeed trying to see the strong and weak points of his new friend.

Samehada gave a low pitch growl as it felt a little bit of the presence that was robbed from it a while ago since the sealing of such a beast. Blitz could only hope there was another source of chakra such as that to attract the night blade. Even the shinobi amongst the village never got the attention of the blade as did the Nibi. Chuckling to himself once more he could only wait to see what was next for the two of them.

The hair would begin to lock to the ice, and the feline form would pull free from the freezing training grounds. Blindly Toshiyuki would stumble in his too large form as ice climbed up the wet of his hair. This technique wasn't working for him. He'd have to figure something else out. The ice would crack as the cat would unwind, I still can't see. Sight wouldn't be necessary as he landed on the frozen ground his hair unraveled as hyoton quickly began racing up his wet pants. Panic would visibly tint his chakra, the blue flames licking at his skin becoming more frantic. The hair would squeeze again pulling away at the ice on his legs two strands would each pull out an explosive tag, before surrounding Toshi again.

An explosion would surround Toshi and the hair would fall harmlessly to the ground, but the heat from the explosions would give Toshi a brief reprieve. Was that a flash freeze or is it creeping? Whichever it was it definitely seemed to come from the ground. Toshiyuki's left hand would slide up his right arm revealing sealing jutsu up his arms. "Faces, I need you." Toshi's body would shift slightly as his summon latched onto him and the traits of an eel began to appear on his body. There, Faces would whisper to Toshiyuki, having merged with him. One after the other Toshi would begin throwing his kunai. The first would strike where Blitz once was, but each subsequent kunai would ideally be getting closer and closer to their mark as faces guided her summoner towards their opponent. The fifth of the ten kunai would have an explosive tag on it ready to explode a little less than 2 meters behind where Faces would tell Tosh their opponent was. Faces would save her snark for later. For now she was locked in.

“No outside help..”

During his time hidden he watched the current events unfold from before him as the young male not only showed he had heart. His skills of summoning were indeed in question as now his pursuit of the shinobi was growing closer. Continuing to move in the mist Blitz could only see what he saw to be a creature aiding the shinobi yet Blitz made no hesitation.

From the first kunai Blitz kept a mental count as he purposely stopped upon the fourth kunai thrown at him catching it in the mist and returning it back. Clashing with the fifth kunai intercepting its path as it knocked it off its current course, bouncing both projectiles to get lost in the mist.

Seconds after an explosion would be set only six meters away from Blitz, clearing out the mist small but effective with revealing the location of the shinobi. Laughing a little bit to himself he was enjoying this battle testing this new shinobi was indeed entertaining as he had some help. But now nothing hid his presence.

A straight up battle would be the only outcome quickly coming to his head. Blitz concentrated his chakra in the air quickly forming two ice swords above his head. Shooting off both immediately as they finished forming, cutting through the air the one the left side of the opponent aimed down at his left shoulder.

The other one aimed specifically for the summoning upon his arm in hopes of taking out the alliance early. Regardless of the outcome he was here to see how the other would adapt under the pressure he was not going to let up even for a moment. Heading off the right side of the opponent coming in on a flank Blitz attempted to apply pressure.

Forming one hand seal a water clone would split apart from the shinobi heading behind the enemies rear keeping the shinobi in range within him and the jutsu’s he made sure escape was limited. In a sense trapping him in a half circle. The training was good for both sides but he had yet to see the full demonstration of that summoning or its user. Staying light on his feet the male was determined to keep on pushing; he now could only see the results of this shinobi.

“No outside help...”As the mist between them cleared for a moment he'd consider it. Am I cheating?As quickly as the hesitation appeared in his thoughts he'd dispell it. Sensing just a moment's hesitation, Faces's voice would ring in his head. Tosh lock in. With a nod the eternal genin would change his plan from taking the assault head on, to changing up the tempo of the fight.

The combination transformation would settle in and Toshiyuki would shift himself to the opposite side of the sword aimed at his shoulder. Blue skin would be showing as the shinobi pulled off his jacket with his left hand. Tattoos of eels climbed up his arms, almost as if they were emerging from his shoulderless tank top. A deep cut on his right shoulder would be partially sealed shut by bloody ice, and the area around it purple from the sheer cold. Behind him, the sword that was aimed for his left shoulder was stained with blood. "Faces and I fight together."

This chimeric Toshiyuki would match the speed of Blitz's clone as it tried to circle around him keeping his distance as he cycled through three hand seals. Dragon → Monkey → Tiger."This is our 100%." Identifying the ninja that he thought was the original, Toshi would speed up again. This time he would try to rake new claws through the clone's side. His vision was blurry though, so it was hard for him to tell. He'd stop 20 meters away, and then move for the same spot. If the clone wasn't there he would try to adjust and figure out its next location. Four more times he'd try the technique he'd seen Blitz use except now as an offensive technique.

Blitz didn’t hesitate to meet his hands once more forming a multiple set of hand seals doing this while the male seemed to be pushing out more of his own chakra. Starting with his own set of skills Blitz watched as the other targeted his clone. Releasing the jutsu Blitz could only be watched. In turn using this as a trap. The water clone that was not in front of the shinobi seemed defenseless allowing the shinobi to close in before its arms themselves transformed back into water attempting to latch out and subdue the shinobi. In turn trapping the shinobi in a orb of water immobilized and subdued for the time being.

Yet Blitz did not mistake this shinobi to be one to fall for such a trick, closing in once more he made sure to apply pressure. Flanking around towards the back of his enemy giving him only two ways to escape left or right. Forming his hands once more as the water clone attempted to entrap the shinobi from behind Blitz quickly released the jutsu once more as the ice from earlier quickly crept its way.

Aiming towards the young shinobi in case he had any luck getting away from the water clone, the ice itself was second security at best. Smirking to himself he was indeed enjoying himself and this little conflict that was going on. A new shinobi indeed had promise to them all they required was to endure the pressure that came with it.

If captured. Blitz would release the shinobi immediately and bow his head in thanks for the training and attempt to leave the training field.

(OOC: I really don’t think that Toshi has a good answer for this. I thought about it all day, and I’ve got nothin’)

On the very first slash Toshiyuki feels claws sink into the clone. I got him! The thought is backed up by the wet on his hands as he pierced the dispersing clone’s flesh. If he’d been thinking just a little more he might have been able to predict this trap. He may not have left his best asset unused. The hit he got on this clone would be as far as Toshiyuki got. His hand would be stuck in the sphere as his eyes would snap backwards in a futile attempt to get a glance towards Blitz.

His brain wasn’t moving quite fast enough. He could breathe. He could move slightly. It didn’t matter though because he couldn’t get another summon out in time to-
As the jutsu formed around him it ended. The shinobi knew he’d one. At first Toshiyuki was angry, humiliated. Why was he so strong, how was I even supposed to win when he was holding back so mu? No. That wasn’t right. As water poured over the ground in around him, the eternal genin would catch himself on one knee. ”I think I can see it.” with a small quickly dispersing plume of smoke Toshi’s combination transformation would fade (summon is dispelled and UAs are deactivated.

As he stood up he would play the match in his head again. He’d play it again. He did learn something. Bowing with a large smile, the genin would recipricate the thanks. As Blitz turned to walk away, Toshi would call back to him, ”I’ll be back much stronger next time” There was a very strong emphasis on the I like he was trying to say that he was holding his summons back. Samehada was a sword that could be picky about its partners. With a sword like that you’d be sliced to ribbons if you didn’t keep up. Toshi had been taking it easy.

Once he was home he’d call on Bino. ”Bino, I want to take the elder’s trial again.”
