Swordsmanship - When Rin uses Kenjutsu be it technique or even using a sword in general. Rin receives an 1 rank increase to Speed. This boost caps at A rank since it cannot be boosted to S rank or beyond. Due to not taking a Bloodline, this is a free Unique Ability that does not require a drawback.
Mind’s Eye - When using the Sensory technique or the sensory skill in general. Rin gains a 1 rank increase to Perception, but then receives a 1 rank decrease to Constitution. This is because when he’s using his sensory abilities it takes a toll on his body making it less robust than before.
Appearance:
Rin can be seen as an upstanding kid with his striking eyes piercing all who he sees. The kid stands at 4 feet and 6 inches tall. The figure on him doesn't scream a bulk of muscle like a bodybuilder, instead he has a slender form. Rin has warm black hair that is relatively short. The very colors of his eyes is a pair of hazel that has a blend of sky blue and lime green into it.
When Rin is working or basically on duty as a shinobi he's usually garbed in his gear. The few exceptions is when he has to go undercover which consists of variety of clothing fit for different situations. Outside of work, Rin mostly wears kimono of various designs and colors. Simply because he finds them more comfortable to wear and has a liking to the fashion. Other occasions he'll wear simple traveling gear of a shirt, dark green cloak, water resistant pants, and sandals.
History:
Similar to Rock Lee’s story, Rin wasn't gifted in the arts of ninjutsu or genjutsu. His only talent at first was taijutsu, but even that was rusty. In the beginning of the academy, he was picked on and told to quit at least a dozen times daily. As the result, Rin was beaten by these kids until one day he had enough. Rin made two kids to have nosebleed from a well placed punch, and three was simply bruised from the physical trauma. This is not to say that Rin didn't receive damage himself, for even he sustained bruises as well as scrapes.
Rin wasn't born into the Uchiha clan as some have been led to believe. Instead he originates from a family known as Wandering Swordsman. Or rather, what is left of them. About ten years ago the Uchiha clan sought these swordsman out due to their unparalleled prowess with the sword arts, but so was Hyuga and Hozuki clans. Conflict immediately erupted between these three with the Tohsaka family caught in between them. It was an accident on all accounts, but the three clans had slain the family out of fear that they worked for the other clans. The only one to survive was an infant boy, Rin Tohsaka, as Maiori Uchiha found him originally hidden in a hut. Simply put, the Uchiha found him first and welcomed him as one of their own. To this day however, Rin is unaware of his family and fully believes he is a full-blooded Uchiha.
So as one can imagine, things were rough for Rin even outside of the Academy. The clan was expecting a lot from Rin due to his heritage. They didn't really mind the fact that he didn't have the fire chakra nature, but they did grew worried after finding out he had no element. Such a thing is rare even for a human being. Yet Rin has demonstrated that he can still control his chakra, it's just he never discovered his nature.
Seeing as how Rin didn't necessarily had ninjutsu or genjutsu, Maiori handed him a simple tanto and ordered him to attack a training dummy. Results quickly began to show as Rin seemed to have almost instantly knew how to hold it, where to strike, and basically was a natural at it. This was before Maiori began to teach him the arts of swordsmanship, and considering how he did before with the other topics Rin was much better with a blade in hand. Afterwards Rin practically skipped ninjutsu and genjutsu, only to focus his training in taijutsu, kenjutsu, and the most recent his sensory skill.
Personality:
Rin is your typical kid who enjoys little things such as playing on the streets with the other kids. A rather emotional one at that for he shows compassion to others in hopes they’ll feel better about themselves. Alternatively, his anger is generally triggered from a naive perspective such as witnessing poverty, injustice, cruelty, and the like. Especially when he doesn’t understand the meaning behind their actions, but even so the act of killing is what sends Rin into an emotional wreck. Now if he was the one who killed, then he’d be even more traumatized because he was the one who killed.
Rin is kind hearted kid who looks after a lot of other people especially to those who are younger than him. His determination is what got him through the tough times in life and his will of fire to protect the village was, is, a major motivation to Rin. Rin is young and sometimes naive; but time of growth can alter that into a more experienced mindset. Any friends he makes Rin considers to be important pieces to his life, and the Uchiha clan are no exception either. Rin protects them as much as he can before he loses unconsciousness, and if not for his determination then his loyalty is another asset to his mentality.
