The pale dawn rose and Valen alone sat within the training field at that moment. Waiting for the four genin he had called to the training ground of the Heavenly Emporium. Valen himself had been spending a great amount of time in the city lately for the festival and he had met three of the four individuals he had called here already. Kizmaru, Keita, and Akane were genin who would be assigned to him as four parts of his genin team. While the fourth was another member of the Nightmare Brigade, Blitz. As he had named himself to Valen the day they had met. As a newly promoted Special Jounin Valen had been able to select a genin team from amongst the multitudes that had come out of the academy recently. He picked these four names for no real reason other than he was acquainted with all four of them.
Blitz, he wanted to try to whip into shape simply because when they had met they had been on similar levels of capability so far as Valen was aware. Now Valen had been promoted two grades and the Yuki had yet to achieve even a decent level of power. Given their membership in the Brigade, the fire swordsman felt it was part of his job to help shepherd his blue haired companion. Akane, Keita, and Kizmaru had simply been the three names he had seen the quickest besides Blitz’, simple as that. However he doubted he would have too much issue with any of them.
The newly promoted shinobi had done quite a bit of reading on teams and the fundamentals for being on one. Both from the perspective of a simple team member to the one commanding them. He had commanded missions before, but never a permanent team like this one was. So he had wanted to do some reading to ensure he understood what he was doing to at least a passable degree. To that end he felt confident enough to send the messages to the three. He had sent copies to their home addresses on file in Kirigakure as well as to the master hotel directory in the Emporium. Which should ensure that if they were residing in a hotel somewhere upon the floating city that they would receive the letter. It had informed them to meet them here at this training ground on this day. He had sent the letters out a week ago which meant they should have had plenty of time to receive them and get to the Emporium.
Valen himself was dressed in his normal shinobi attire, rather than his festival attire this time. He wore a black compression shirt with a standard issue Chuunin jacket, although his was dyed gray. Black shinobi pants and black boots. His long black hair went down to his upper back now and his red eyes were awake and alert. His headband was on his forehead, clearly showing his affiliation for Kirigakure. His katana, the Blade of Ashes, was belted at the waist in it’s elaborately decorated sheathe and he had the odd pocket or two sewn into the shinobi pants for extra storage. As many shinobi had done at some point or another. The training ground was empty besides him and he had purposefully chosen one that was not well used so as to ensure as much privacy as possible. Should all things go well he would treat his team to lunch. First though they all needed to arrive.
