She was sitting on a thick log that was used to train endurance among those who liked to punch and kick things. The more callous you had and the tougher your bones, the more damage you inflicted when you managed to make contact with your opponent. Bryn had never had many issues against pure taijutsu fighters with her focus on the spear and ninjutsu though, with only her cousins in the Kaguya clan able to get close enough to do any sort of damage to her. Even then, the Kaguya tended to keep their distance from her if possible. After all, even they could get scorched (heh) by the Valkyrie of Kirigakure. Bryn was staring off into space, a light smile on her lips as she hummed a jovial tune reminiscent of a nursery rhyme from her youth.
It was about twenty minutes after dawn, with her genin having ten minutes remaining to show up. Hopefully they'd get there early and make a good impression, though the Fujio jonin didn't really care as much if they were on time as long as they actually showed up today. Punctuality could be taught later. Today was not a meeting to teach a lesson or anything like that, she wanted to get a grasp of their skill level as well as their talents. With that in mind, Bryn had with her a wooden staff that was the same length as her spear as well as her gorgeous weapon. The staff was meant as a training tool, with weights bound at both ends in differing amounts to aid in balancing it and weighting it to be close to her spear.
The area she had chosen was meant more for taijutsu and weaponry fighters over ninjutsu users, with logs like the one she sat on dispersed intermittently throughout the area. There were practice dummies and other training implements to use, with a small clearing intended for sparring behind her about ten meters away. It was twenty meters in diameter and comprised of short grass and was completely flat. She yawned once, glancing at the still rising sun. "I hope they're fun," she said lightly, resting back on her hands as she kicked her feet in boredom. "Or at least not boring."
