What does one do in the face of darkness?

Miaka let the man fall without a scream, his anguish from the burns extinguished as was his life. The jounin reached under her arm and found the bone sword to have dissipated. She gave a shrug and adjusted her clothing before walking back to the Commander. She bowed half way in respect and said, "It is done." Miaka nodded as he gave her dismissal. It would seem his black carriage was not returning for them after all. He must have had other business to attend to but Miaka didn't mind the long walk back home. It would give her time to process the mission, mentally completing the report before she even began writing it on paper. "See you around, Commander," The jounin replied and then with a wave, she departed.

Sero would fade into the mist as he walked back towards his next objective. Someone filling out the paperwork would free him up to train more. A more educated mind than his own would also ensure that it was done properly. Still his mind drifted elsewhere into plots for the future. He had a great deal of work to do and power to gain. The mist rolling in and consuming the sight of him entirely.
