Unique Abilities:
I Can Make This Fast, Or Really Fast - One-handed Seals: Xia may weave hand seals with only one hand. This results in a one tier loss of Coordination for that hand regarding hand seals.
You Don’t Get Back What I Take - Chakra Drain:
While practicing the sacred art of Gentle Fist, Xia discovered that with a tiny bit of effort she could actually drain chakra from her opponents. This UA allows her to create and learn techniques that can drain chakra at the cost of dropping some of her defenses. Without using techs, she can choose to drain 5 CP from someone by making physical contact with them using her hands or forehead, although she has to consciously do so. This can be used through gloves and clothes, but does not extend to other tools or weapons. Every time she makes contact, she can draw out chakra from a person (capped at 15 CP per person per post) or 15 CP per person if she sustains contact the entire post. However, doing so drops her defenses (+1 rank of damage) from tangible chakra techniques for the rest of the post round. This includes elemental jutsu, attacks with tangible chakra, such as Chakra Flow and other such techniques. The amount that this UA allows for non-tech absorption in a thread is capped at half of Xia's base stamina cap, even if taken from multiple different people. This can not set her over her maximum pool of chakra either.
Your Window To Run Away Is Closing - Stat Boost:
Xia’s confidence knows no bounds, and the same is true in combat. While in a fight, or if she’s about to pick one, Xia can spend 5 CP to increase her Speed by 1 tier, this has the unfortunate side effect of lowering her Intelligence by 1 tier as she focuses on her quarry and nothing else.
Smoked ‘Em - Katon Enhancement:
To say Xia is hot headed is an understatement. She is passionate and driven, and never more so than when she’s in combat. She is also an artist, albeit a rebellious one. This UA allows her to app and use techniques that can alter the look and feel of Katon. She can create different colours of smoke and fire depending on her mood or the necessity of circumstance.
I’ll Make This Look Like Magic - Cosmetic Passive:
Master of disguise - that is what Xia aspires to be. And as such she spends a decent amount of time perfecting the art of subterfuge, especially when it comes to her appearance. On a whim she can easily (and frequently does) change tiny details of her appearance such as her hair and eye colour by subtly manipulating her own tenketsu. This is a cosmetic effect and while interesting, gives Xia no distinct advantage in actual combat.
Kama Or Kunai? Depends How I’m Feelin’ - Mo-Money:
Xia was gifted a stunning set of Kunai and an heirloom Kama on her eighteenth birthday. Made of the finest Steel and Jade these weapons were an investment into her future. Xia starts with 5 C-Grade/A-Hardness Kunai and 1 C-Grade/A-Hardness Kama. (5x Kunai 500 ryo + 5 units Jade for 15,000 ryo + 10,000 ryo Marketplace Crafting = 25,500 ryo 1 Kama 3,000 ryo + 1 unit Jade for 3,000 ryo + 10,000 ryo Marketplace Crafting = 16,000 ryo [41,500 ryo x 1.5 = 62,250 ryo debt]) Since Xia doesn’t want to owe anyone anything, the worth of these weapons must be paid off before she can earn any money.
Appearance:
Xia is a diminutive woman, standing at just barely five foot three and weighing in at 110 pounds. She is wiry and well muscled, obviously a student of the more physical martial arts. Her skin is 'sun kissed' owing to her love of the outdoors - urban or otherwise. Her hair and eye colour are often a mystery, as she frequently alters them to suit whatever new trend she’s decided is important. Or for more nefarious means. She was born with dark hair and the pale eyes of her Clan and only her most trusted friends can be certain of her appearance. She is usually found wearing tight fitting clothing in non-traditional styles, including large jackets and caps and tends to sport a face mask which she displays some of her art on. When it suits her (or she’s forced to) she will don more traditional kunoichi attire, though with an unnecessary amount of midriff showing as a nod to her own independence.
History:
Xia was born to the noble and prestigious Hyuga Clan. Or so she has been told her whole life. Repeatedly. The fact that the history of her Clan was so important was thoroughly drilled into the young shinobi’s head from her earliest memory onward. And at first, like many Hyuga children, she was excited and even proud to hear the story recounted. Over the years though, as she trained and got more history lessons, she became more jaded and much more. . . eye-rolley. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe her parents or her teachers or literally everyone in the Clan, it was just that she was tired of hearing about how damn special the Hyuga were.
She was a confident sort, a quick learner and excelled in the Academy, so when she heard about her ‘specialness’ she felt like it detracted from her hard work. And work hard she did. She wanted to prove that she was more than capable as a shinobi and that one day she might even be ANBU material, or better yet be selected as the obvious choice for Hokage. But with the weight of her Clan’s history resting squarely on her tiny shoulders, she also grew rebellious. She loved her parents, she loved her Clan, but she hated being told who she had to be. Xia wanted to be a lot of things, and none of those things were ‘tied down to old stuffy traditions’.
Her rebellion was rooted in respect, as much as she wanted to be her own person she didn’t want to bring shame to her family. She took up art amongst her hobbies - more specifically street art. There was no one better with a can of spray paint than her. If you asked her of course. She tried to keep her art tasteful and discrete but of course hiding things from the Hyuga was near impossible and it wouldn’t take long for her parents to approach her about her ‘acting out’. It was after that day that she was sent to the Academy where, for the most part, she focused on her studies and tried not to get into any more trouble. Or at least not get caught.
Personality:
Xia is a free and rebellious soul, her determination, fire and passion written in everything that she does. She is also, quite notably, sassy. When she thinks she can get away with it. She does still ‘tow the line’, being a dutiful shinobi, daughter and clan member. Balancing so many masks does take its toll though and so when she feels overwhelmed she can be found outside, usually at night, either painting or looking for parties.
