Opposition Arises [B-Rank]

This was something different for Shin, both in terms of the type of mission he was going to take on, as well as the location of the mission as well. Today, he would be alone, there would be no backup so he would need to take precautions and hope the element of surprise was on his side. Today was the day Shin was given his first pure combat-oriented assignment and one that would take place outside the village walls. It was apparent from the mission outline that Shin should leave no survivors; it was a first for him, having to ensure people were dead, but this would be the way of being a shinobi of Iwagakure no Sato, after all. Death was inevitable. After his last assignment, more of the criminal organizations within the village became weary and took their work to outside Iwagakure’s official walls, yet still within the jurisdiction of the village itself. Shin found himself currently venturing just outside the village gate, and it would only be a short way from here to the location of the bandits' last known whereabouts. Their last known location was to the northwest, just within a kilometre or two of the village and on a plateau that had enough room for large gatherings should these bandits ever need to meet with other groups.

Soon enough, Shin would find himself near twenty meters away from the camp, and it seemed the element of surprise was not on his side. Perhaps he had missed a lookout, but the bandits had all gathered in front of their camp, armed where their melee weapons. For being one man against ten, Shin had the advantage of knowing jutsus compared to the bandits, while they would hold the numbers advantage. Not even taking a moment to give anyone a moment to get the jump on him, Shin would begin forming the hand seals required for the first technique he would need to at least whittle down the number of enemies he was facing. As they would begin running towards him, Shin would form a set of seals. Rat, snake, horse and dog were the first set of hand seals that Shin would form. Once the seals were completed, Shin would take a deep breath and do a complete three hundred sixty-degree spin. Upon near completion of his rotation, Shin would exhale, releasing a solitary blade of wind, more commonly known as the Wind Release: Vacuum Wave jutsu. Of the ten that were charging at him, four were immediately incapacitated while the other six spread out further, thus they did not get any closer to Shin as well.

The next set of hand seals Shin would form would be similar to the first set; rat, snake, horse, snake again, and dog. This time, instead of spinning, Shin would only take a deep breath and exhale. Shin would aim his head in the direction of the remaining six individuals as he would exhale, sending the blades of wind careening in the direction of his opponents. The blades formed by this jutsu, Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves, were vastly superior to the previous technique, for they travelled faster, caused more damage and ventured further. These blades made short, but bloody, work of the bandits, leaving all of them dead. Shin would wait a few moments, seeing if there was any other movement coming from the camp, when he saw none, he would travel towards it and check the few tents that were there to ensure there was no one hiding. In the end, Shin did not find anyone else in the vicinity. Considering his mission a success, Shin would head back towards Iwagakure no Sato to report on the completion of the mission.
