The night is dark and full of terrors.

Tamwyn stood, trench knives in hand and his full armament on and stood guard over the seals as they put the finishing touches on their seal that would erect a great barrier over a large portion of the Hot Zone. The rest of the seals had already been placed and subsequently protected so that they could not be tampered with. The left only the last one and the process to prepare it would take time. The time was well passed dark and the midnight hour was coming upon them. The environment was inky black and the Seraph of Lightning was prepared with his sensory scouting out for him to look for enemies. No one else except his partner was nearby, excluding the sealers of course. So the pale haired man knew that should anyone appear he would sense them. His piercing yellow eyes looked on into the night as he watched, listened and waited for any intruders to interrupt the last sealing. It would take awhile, and there was plenty of time for someone to disrupt it, or kill the sealers.

That of course meant that Tamwyn would have to be on his guard for all possible threats. He wasn't alone however, he was partnered with an Iwagakure shinobi named. Provided his companion was in fact nearby Tamwyn would speak toward him, although he wouldn't face him. It wasn't to be disrespectful, but shinobi got used to not making eye contact to speak in the field. "If there's any big fish that come, I'll take them. I wanna you to support me to the best of your ability unless they have assistance. At which point, take them on as you see fit. Sound good to you?" He would say, an eyebrow raised in curiosity. He had avoided using the boys name as a matter of courtesy. Not everyone wanted their name spouted in the middle of a mission in the middle of the night and it would be rude to do so. His piercing yellow eyes could be seen well in the night and his armor, consisting of what looked like his normal clothing of black suit and cloak, black pants, black boots, and a distinctive black bolero would be on. Ryuko had made this armor for him and he cherished it greatly as he did any gift. It would be particularly helpful on this mission he felt given the dark environment they found themselves in.

The moon was hidden from view, a new moon, which further diminished light sources and that meant keeping up with him would be even more difficult. Of course it also meant that it would theoretically be easier to sneak up on them and potentially assassinate the sealers. A fact that they had taken no small amount of time bringing up fearfully. However Tamwyn hopefully had a vicious advantage there in his sensing capability. The area of the Hot Zone they were sealing was a large area that had little obstruction which would allow what scientists they had to work with little hindrance when it was done. However this final sealing area was nestled in a cave in a rock shelf. The sealers were inside and there was only one way in or out. Tamwyn was at the entrance, on the outside, keeping himself vigilant. The cave was fifty meters deep and the opening was only five meters tall and three wide, an easily defensible position that theoretically, his partner might be able to hold on his own if it came down to it. The inside of the cave opened up swiftly to being much wider, about twenty meters wide to be precise which meant that had plenty of space. A lantern was inside of the cave with the sealers but it was the only light in the area and it didn't reach the cave mouth. It provided just enough illumination for the sealers in the back of the cave to work by.

It was just lucky that the for the barrier didn't need to be in open space. So long as the seals were set up properly and placed in precise locations the barrier would work around the environment. Similar to how some would go beneath the ground as well as above it. This would go through the rock formation and any other environmental barrier to do it's job. The yellow eyed shinobi stood ready, prepared to move to cover any threat that might come.

Imagine Rin's surprise when he heard that he was to participate in this mission for the sake of Shinobi Alliance. Usually this would be the job befitting for shinobi actually aligned to their nations, but the sad part was that Rin honestly needed the money. If he was to accumulate enough money to get a custom sword of any great caliber then he would need to do jobs. Both odd and dangerous, even jobs that meant he was to kill an enemy or three. In this particular case, Rin was tasked along with one other person to take out a group of Fuuinjutsu sealers who were too ambitious for their own good. He honestly didn't know who they truly were, but Rin truthfully didn't need to know.

His crimson colored eyes settled upon the large wall of china that was mostly finished. Frankly Rin was impressed with the size of it since it stretched on for miles on both sides. It was a very ambitious project, and one they could have succeeded until Rin came into the picture. Granted, the Land of Waterfalls had warned Rin ahead of time that the Land of Bears had also hired other shinobi to their aid. That would add complications to the problem, but with the assistance of one other shinobi Rin wagered that should lessen the stress and make their chances better. However doing the math, Rin took in the fact that their opponents could be just as powerful or even stronger than himself. In which case would actually lower their chances of success, but Rin hoped that the chances weren't too low that their lives were forfeited.

Rin came garbed in his steel mail shirt with a simple short sleeved shirt underneath it. Steel arm guards cover from the back of his hands up to his forearms. Steel faulds cover the midsection to his waist and the steel cuisse covers his thighs down to just above his knees. That was about it in terms of armor on his person, but otherwise he has a leather belt that had his chokuto sheathed onto his right side. A hip pouch of his tools on his left flank and a folded fuuma shuriken could be found clipped onto his belt just in front of the hip pouch. Baggy dark pants and a pair of brown sandals covered his legs and feet. Compared to some other shinobi [s]Tamwyn[/s] Rin was dressed rather simpler with only his chokuto that seemed to be of any high quality. Granted his mail, faulds, and cuisse were made in a higher quality than his arm guards were as the design was slightly different.

They would be positioned roughly 300 meters away from the impending chaos that awaited the duo. Even through the low visibility due to such a dark setting, Rin could still see the large wall that he honestly mistaken to be a small mountain range. Rin knew that just charging straight in would spell the death of any seasoned shinobi. So with a single hand Rin produced five shadow clones of himself.

"If you have Shadow Clone as well, use it to scout out competition. I'll send mine three hundred meters to the north and two hundred meters to the south. Stay on guard though, never know when someone has the Great Fire Annihilation technique or something equivalent to it." Rin highly suggested to Toshiyuki as two clones traveled south and three clones traveled to the north. From there, as they'll be a hundred meters apart save for where Rin is positioned, the clones would advance forward to the only part of the extensive wall that remained unfinished.

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Toshiyuki Sun Dec 20, 2020 5:41 am

There must have been a mistake. Toshiyuki could see no reason why he of all people would have been selected for this mission. Surely this was meant for a different Ryuutei. When the masked ninja arrived on his door step, with the scroll in hand Toshi was awe stricken. The eternal genin hadn't ever been sent to deal with any issue, and this one was an international crisis from the looks of it. Just as quickly as his gears began spinning, they came to a sudden grinding halt. There could only be two reasons why he was being sent on this mission. It was actually rather simple. 1) They either needed to put up the front of sending one of their "elites", but needed the mission to fail. Being a Ryuutei, Toshiyuki's reserves were large enough that he could emulate a powerful, albeit incompetent ninja. 2) They wanted to make a political assault on the Ryuutei, in which case they send the weakest genin of the clan to aid the Land of waterfalls. If he succeeded so be it, but if he failed that'd knock the Ryuutei down a peg in Kiri's political dealings. Toshi's only strength was his intelligence. Once a ninja that was thought to be a 1/100 in potential, he has had the confidence that came with that broken down after meeting ninja that were 1/100,000 in their potential.

It'd be best then if he played his cards close to his chest, but that simply wasn't a luxury the eternal genin could afford. For the first time in his ninja career, Toshi reached out to another in preparation for this fight, his Ikuchi comrade. He'd arrive on site with the ninja from Konoha, and Toshi's bastardized Ryuutei chakra would already be flared up. His chakra moving like a light-less flame. Honestly he'd rather be asking the man known as Rin Uchiha countless questions, about his life, his training regimen, or the jutsu he knew, but the even before they'd made it this close his nerves kept his mouth sealed. Not dissimilar to the last opportunity he'd had to prove himself, the genin opted to wear a cloth mask over his nose, and he only identified himself as Toshi had he been asked his name. The barefoot nin wore a variation of his standard gear: He donned a sleeveless jacket with a fur-lined hood, two weapon holsters strapped to his thighs on either side, and two hip pouches on either side hidden just beneath his jacket. A thin wire would extend from his left holster to the left hip pouch, likely unseen in the dark night. His tattoos would be hidden under a long sleeve shirt.

Seeing the other ninja before him- who frankly couldn't have been much older than he was- noting the rock shelf, Toshi would attempt to assess the situation, unfortunately not being able to see much except for the general outline of the rock shelf under dim conditions of the starlit night. The gears would begin turning. The area was relatively open. Best case scenario the enemy had no clue they'd approached, and in the worst case scenario they'd already been spotted, had their chakra nature and identities revealed with an advanced application of the sensing technique, and the enemy ninja were many and all above Rin Uchiha's caliber with traps prepared and counters in mind. Toshi didn't know what his ally's eyes were capable of, but he was probably very capable of fighting in the dark. Which just left himself that he had to worry about. Only three practical solutions even came to mind. He'd just have to make sure not to forget the seals for the third.

He'd calmly assess his own breathing as Rin Uchiha summoned his clones. "Clever," Toshi would let out, noting the clones' distribution he'd welcome the advice and imitate with his own - +/- a hand for his own tiger seal not like he was jealous or anything. He had yet to weigh his opinions on killing the sealers vs. completing the mission, but that time was quickly approaching. His own clones would vary in their spread similarly, with a meter or two difference favoring the west. Toshi suspected he was picking up what the Uchiha was putting down. All of him would be 10 meters behind their respective Rin with one Toshi (T0) staying behind with the Rin who hadn't joined the formation. There'd be T1 with the closest eastern Rin, T2-4 moving just behind the western Rins, and T-5 who wouldn't pair up being 50 meters further away than the furthest Rin. T3 and 5 would move in with the Rins like the other clones until they met with the wall of the Rock Shelf, and then they'd climb the long, 30 meter tall wall leaping from jagged outcropping to jagged outcropping to conserve chakra. Taking in the large plateau above before beginning to converge like the Rins below. Toshi would chime up to Rin, "I'm not really sure how much help I'll actually be, but I'll try to give it 200%." before thinking to himself, Kiri or the Ryuutei almost certainly sent me here as a liability to this guy, right? Toshi would ever so slightly click his tongue in annoyance. Guess I've gotta go all out. Then maybe I can make my own way. Hopefully the sealers would be barely guarded, and the two were just being overly cautious. Hopefully.

Chen leaned against the entrance of the cave right behind Tamwyn. He too had his sensory active but his eyes were closed and focused on those approaching. Tamwyn offered to take on the "big fish" whatever that meant. Chen was fine with this. He could tell from the man's chakra signature that that he was a force to be reckoned with. He had only just began to hone the skill and he had rarely used it out of an uncertainty of its function but he was slowly becoming more acclimated to it. Unfortunately, the ability seemed to come and go as if it were something external to his own will. There were entire months where he sensed nothing and days when he felt as though he could sense everything. A gift from his father perhaps. Regardless, Chen was now tracking multiple bogies heading to their location. He opened his eyes and replied to Tamwyn's suggestion:

"Sounds good. There are multiple enemies converging on our location as we speak"

Chen had accepted the team up with Kumogakure because it was an opportunity to sharpen his skills. He ordinarily would not have been given a mission where the stakes were so high. There were perks to working with a Great Power although Chen didn't quite trust Kumo given the things he heard about the nation. The yellow eyed Jounin he had been partnered with wasn't helping their case either. But he was strong, and for now that's what Chen needed. He look into the depth of the cave and considered retreating there for now. The sealers were hard at work in preparing the barrier and he'd need to ensure that they were protected. Then again, leaving Tamwyn might be taken as a sign of weakness and Chen had no desire to make Iwa look inept. He stood precisely where he was. Instead of moving, he made a few handseals and focused on the approaching nin.

Tamwyn would kneel down and touch the ground to increase his range. This would be done regardless of if Chen sensed them and responded to his words or not given that he was defending the area and would need to make frequent checks in order to properly defend the sealers. Sure enough when he did he sensed two targets 300 meters away. The two targets were in fact there and now that Tamwyn had their location he could go heavily on the offensive. Especially since there were only two targets within range and that meant there were probably only two to fight. More than that and they wouldn't be so far apart that neither Chen nor Tamwyn could sense the support. Nodding to himself Tamwyn would stand to his full height. His eyes would gain a brilliant shine as lightning coursed through his body, his physical capabilities massively increased due to the usage of Lightning Release Armor. The techniques also coalesced a lightning barrier around him that was of the highest quality he was aware of. This technique gave him a massive boost to his capabilities, and his partnership with Raijū only increased what it could do further. Well, at some point it would. For now all that partnership did was reduce how much it took to use the technique and removed the weaknesses of it. It allowed Tamwyn to utilize his ninjutsu while using it, and prevented it from dispersing when he was covered by water or earth. Useful capabilities on their own and with his newly activated jutsu he would speak. " Two targets, take the one in the back. I'll handle the one in the front. If we finish with out respective targets then support the other. Don't let them get close, if you need me to move to intercept an attack attempt on the sealers call out." He would say before moving at his maximum possible speed, falling smoothly into the stance for his Disturbance Taijutsu as he did.

The entire world seemed to shift around him as he moved as fast as he was. Their surroundings were almost fully obstruction free, rocky earth being the only thing in the area and that meant an Earth user would have an easier time fighting here. Tree's were an absence in this part of the country, the nearest big one being a mile or so away and the starting point of the nearest forest. Scraggly tree's could be found here, but they would be useless for cover or anything really. As he moved he would catch sight of his targets, a taller man with black hair and a goatee, covered in steel armor and a chokuto, along with baggy pants and sandals. The other one would be wearing a sleeveless jacket, a long sleeve shirt, a mask covering up to his nose as well. Tamwyn paid no attention to the man's clothing beyond that, mostly because it wasn't important. The guy could be walking around without pants for all he cared and for all Tamwyn knew he might be, since the boy had forgotten to mention them while describing everything else (<3 you).  They were still the only two in evidence. Black Lightning coalesced around Tamwyn, not the stuff his seal generated, he wasn't using that quite yet, however his lightning techniques overall had become infused with the colour, making them all black as his black raiton was. He came at the two from their right side, having circled around and he moved at his top most speed, and his arm would go out in a vicious lariat, coming at him with his left arm. The attack coming while only two enemies stood.

The blow would be aimed at Rin's chest, should he have turned toward Tamwyn of course, and if not it would be aimed at the man's right upper arm, just below the shoulder. The blow, should it land, would theoretically do catastrophic damage to the limb or body given the technique he was using not only used his own personal strength, which was augmented by the technique itself and by Lightning Release Armor. It also caused massive lightning damage to the target upon hitting effectively doing two strikes in one move. Should the strike land he would follow it up, moving with Rin should it fling him away in order to follow up the attack. Should it miss he would stop dead, turning on a dime to launch another attack at the man that was in fact the real Black Lightning from his seal, the lightning firing from his body at the man in a simple bolt. Provided the man didn't dodge in such a way to cause Toshiyuki to be in the line of fire, none of these attack would be aimed at the young man, Tamwyn preferring to give Chen the opportunity to fight as well, rather than taking all of the fighting himself. Until he got closer though, it would just be them, and if Tamwyn managed to take down Rin, then the bets would be off and he would take down the boy too, or at least give him the option to carry Rin away.

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Tatsuya Sat Dec 26, 2020 8:36 am

Suddenly the air crackled with energy as Rin felt the moisture energized around him. From the past experience of battles to sheer instinct. Rin felt a true threat to his life coming from his right, and in an instant the Kyuubi's influence took hold of him. Quick as lightning as he leaves physical energy behind his movements, Rin suddenly turned while simultaneously form a giant Vermillion Rasengan that was directed at whatever was there. The enlarged space of swirling chakra cloaked in bijuu chakra moved along with Rin's hand as it thrust forward as Tamwyn proceeded to Lariat. The two forces of chakra collided as each waged war over each other. The Raiton in the Lariat would disperse, but the real goal was to break through that annoying chakra armor as the ball of swirling energy digs deep into the armor over Tamwyn's arm before the bijuu chakra drilled into same arm. The corrosive nature of the bijuu chakra renders healing of any kind useless albeit temporarily.

Upon contact of the skin, the Rasengan would suddenly propel Tamwyn from the arm itself with immense force capable of blowing a normal man's arm off, but in Tamwyn's enhanced state it would only dislocate it at most. The intention behind the rasengan's propulsion was simply to make whatever or whoever it was to be thrown back for quite a distance. In the same breath before Tamwyn can recover, Rin used his other hand to form half Ram and then exhaled a pressurized ball of air that slams into Tamwyn to which erupts into a furious vortex. Then Rin proceeds to finish it off by following up with weaving together seals to conjure a genuine dragon of fire that ignites the vortex with Tamwyn caught in the middle. From there the dragon soars up to Tamwyn's body as he is being tossed around to swallow him whole as the fuuton chakra empowers its destructive power. Enlarging the sheer size of the dragon to be the vortex itself as it sought to incinerate the lightning clad shinobi.

The flaming vortex brilliantly lights up the vicinity in a fiery golden glow. Fire spits upon the earth, catching what little vegetation that's left to ignite into small fires. The swirling mass, should it have succeeded in catching Tamwyn, spits out the smoldering body with his damaged clothes/armor that lands some 50 meters away from Rin.

There wasn't any time for Rin to issue out a warning for Toshiyuki. If anything, Rin hoped that his efforts at least stalled his assailant.

"That's a bit much don't you think?" Kurama asked inside of Rin's mind. Rin's eyes glow with bloodthirsty hatred as they are identical to Kyuubi's eyes. Whether it was the odd affinity Rin has with the bijuu, or just Rin demonstrating what happens when someone truly sneaks up on him.

Maybe, but something tells me that's not the end of it. Rin answered as his glowing eyes of hate focused on Tamwyn's body as the fiery dragon emits an intense heat that beats the chilly winds.

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Toshiyuki Sat Dec 26, 2020 7:05 pm

T0shi was genuinely surprised at the sudden speed at which the pace of the night had changed. The shift from anticipation to stress was happening at break neck speeds in front of him as, with unachievable reflexes, the two ninja before him began dancing. To say he'd noticed Tamwyn's presence would be an overstatement, as he finished clicking his tongue in annoyance thus breaking his train of thought. He heard the crackling of lightning, and the shifting of rubble as a new presence landed near Rin. "What?!" he'd exclaim in shock. Some might call his decision to face and raise his arms defensively in reaction to the presence instinct, but T0shi would say it was a calculated defensive response to an auditory stimulus instilled in him from years of training. The semantics though would be as useless as the gesture itself as it would've only been cause for more harm to the ninja if the jutsu had been aimed to decimate him. As the Vermillion chakra formed in Rin's hand T0shi would yell out again hit or miss as the force of the jutsu making impact with anything would threaten to blow him away. "WHAT?!?" In the moments after as it was revealed to him that he wasn't the target, he'd summon a Fusee red orb from between a half tiger on his right hand and use his left hand to signal with it towards the wall. The Fusee jutsu was simple but it's bright red light would reveal the area so T0shi could at least attempt to make out the scenario. If provided the opportunity, would take up a readied stance with his left hand now in his left hip pouch since he didn't have a left pant pocket to put it in.

Chen's assessment was probably the most correct given how things ended up. He must've suspected this would've happened. The other Toshis wouldn't have had any change affecting them since Rin's plan was good, and Toshi didn't particularly care whether or not he sent in clones to aid him. Though Tamwyn did sense the two originally 300 meters away, the formation of the clones hand plenty of time to happen between the ninja standing, responding to Chen, activating his jutsu, and then making his way towards the duo 300 meters away in a little over a second. He probably even sensed all of the Toshi's as he did. He'd moved passed though and Toshi was glad for it. This in addition to the now illuminated fight near T0, which the other Ts noted, would be enough time for the Ts to make it to the wall as they began to converge. T1, being the only clone who went south, would only need to head slightly north towards the cave based off of T0shi's guidance. (I messed up my cardinal directions, so I'm gonna fix them here since there was an interrupt attempt anyways, sorry). T2-5 would alter their angle, converging on Chen based on the knowledge that the group 0 got attacked first, so they must have been the closest. T3 and 5 would continue up the wall as planned heading up it as the vermilion rasengan attempted to slam into its target. It was a clash that they couldn't see, but a hopefully fortuitous one for Toshiyuki.

It would be a few seconds before the first of the Toshis, 1 and 2 would arrive, but they'd charge at boy at the illuminated cave mouth once they could see him maintaining their speed. In their approach, they'd reach into their left hip pouch creating a hollow, white, Fusee orb around an explosive tag in their hand. With their right they'd pull out a trench knife from the same side holster. The two would open by throwing the Fusee orb from 15 meters away and detonating them when they were within a meter of their target as T1 and 2 made the snake hand seal. They'd continue their pursuit of Chen regardless of the result and the two would go for a coordinated strike. T1 would swing his trench knife for the stone ninja's neck and T2 for his legs.

T3 and 5 would hopefully have an easy time once they arrived at the top of the rock shelf. They'd move together 200 meters away for the cave entrance now that T0 let them know what was going on. Toshi would dispel T4 getting both a general idea of the playing field and a clear idea of his opponent's whereabouts. T4 wouldn't have made it close to Chen, but all Toshi needed was the information on where the sealers were. The illuminated cave behind the iwa-nin seemed like a good bet. Toshiyuki would prick his finger dabbing it onto his arm to summon Gambino. T3 and T5 would make some strange hand seals and point downwards. They wasted no time moving over where Toshiyuki suspected the sealers were, and hadn't stopped moving since they'd left Rin's side. Gambino would nod and as a thick ooze covered his body he'd dive through the sedimentary rock above the sealers, boring his way through it like a mole as the material in front of him frailly fell away. Slowly a 2 meter wide hole straight down would form as Gambino burrowed through material that would resist less than water at full speed. The sedimentary rock would dissolve into nothing if all went according to plan, and Bino would be free to finish off the sealers.

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Chen Kimyōnakama Wed Dec 30, 2020 7:27 am

Chen copied Tamwyn's actions re: the touching of the ground and sensing. The Kumo Jounin appeared to be exprienced, as if he knew what he was doing. Chen was just a beginning sensor and his abilities so intermittent that he had know real working knowledge of how the jutsu functioned. Chen crouched down, touched the ground, and felt. The same information supplied to Tamwyn would reach him as well. There were multiple bogeys converging on their location. Tamwyn exploded a ray of electricity before telling him that he ought to attack the one in the back. If any of them got too close to the sealers then Chen should give a shout. The young boy muttered an "Okay" before watching Tamwyn engaged the other shinobi. One of them was leaking some kind of sinister energy and the clash caused sufficient collateral damage to blow his black hair out of place.

    Hmph!

Chen focused on Toshiyuki and his clones. Whilst they took their time getting to him, Chen would form a few seals of his own. He'd deny the clones access to the cave by executing the Phoenix Sage Fire jutsu. He inhaled deeply and then exhaled fifteen fireballs towards them. The fireballs were not individually manipulated by rather fired as a stream with the intention of blocking the clones from the cave and ultimately destroying them once the flames made contact with their bodies or the ground near them. Keeping his sensory abilities active, Chen would be intimately aware that T1 and T2 had back up. The kid once more touched the ground to get a full accounting of what they were all up to. He formed a handseal and made a single clone. The clone in turn executed the Lightweight Rock Technique and soared through the sky heading towards who he believed was the real Toshiyuki who oddly enough was the only chakra signature that was relatively stationery in comparison to the rest of the doppelgangers. Chen 1 therefore logically assumed that this chakra signature must be the original given its obvious reluctance to enter into the fray.

Chen 1 maintained a height of eighty meters and then launched its assault. Four handseals were performed and then the the Earth Flow jutsu was made manifest. The effect was localized to Toshiyuki. The last thing Chen 1 wanted to do was get in Tamwyn's way. The goal was to mire Toshiyuki in mud so that he could not escape the follow up of what was to come. Chen 1 performed another string of seals and then launched Great Fireball Technique. The sky would light up as a massive ball of flame would thunder downwards. The goal was to engulf Toshiyuki, potentially causing third degree burns and thus canceling out his clones.

While C1 worked its magic, the real Chen would head into the cave to save the sealers. He had not been idle whilst the opposing clones got close to the mountain and Gambino entered the battlespace. He made a few handsigns and flew into the air, heading towards where the giant Italian named baselisk was residing. Chen hoped to interrupt the eel's attempt to burrow into the ground by shooting earth bullets it him and T5. He made more handsigns and spat them out hoping to catch them before it was too late.

As he arrived, moving into his Lariat, a reddish orb would form in the hands of his target and the man moved to thrust it at him. When it struck it would cancel out the Lariat, and more importantly, the barrier of Tamwyn's Lightning Release Armor, it would not however cancel out the technique entirely. As the spinning orb of chakra interacted with his Lightning Armor however he would activate a technique of his own, one brutally augmented through the help of his ally, Raijū. At the instant his Lightning Armor and the Rasengan clashed Tamwyn would activate one of his favorite techniques, Shocking Surfaces. His feet, still firmly planted on the ground would act as the focus point for the technique and through them lightning would course through the surroundings sixty meters area from Tamwyn, thirty meters in all directions. His ally, Raijū, would increase the power of the technique to new heights. This would of course severely injure Rin should he still be within range of the technique, although given the jutsu's staying power even after Tamwyn left it's area the pale haired man would find avoidance unlikely. After that jutsu was activated, the lightning chakra coursing through the ground around him and potentially electrocuting the young man that was ten meters away, potentially knocking him out (Or dispersing it since it's a cl0ne). Once Shocking Surfaces was activated the Vermillion Rasengan would fling Tamwyn away, although it wouldn't do any damage, given that his Lightning Armor would absorb all of it. It would not however absorb the force of the blow, as only Tamwyn's own strength could do that and the man wasn't physically strong enough to brace against it. As he flew back, he would quickly deactivate and reactivate his Armor, once more having the lightning coalesce into a protective barrier around him as his hand moved to form a single seal. His own shadow clone would come into being, with it's own armor coming active before it ran back toward the cave wall, all shinobi's sensory active all the while, as the original had sensed the other target points moving toward the shelf.

Clonewyn's movements would be simple, and straight forward. As he came within sensory range of the Toshiyuki's on the shelf he would sense them, still climbing the shelf. The clone would stop at the two hundred meter point from them before forming it's hands into a triangular pattern and focusing it's chakra. Suddenly a massive beam of Raiton chakra would blast out from the Clone's hands, black in appearance. The blast would be angled high, so as not to injure the sealers or, of course, his partner, who at this point should still be at the cave mouth (Or just beginning his ascent when the blast hits). The blast's center point would be angled exactly forty meters above the heads of T3 and 5 which would still put them well within the Jutsu's effective range. Given that they couldn't exactly go down, the only option they would have would be to go to the left or the right. Each of which also included fifty meters of Raiton destruction from the firing of Kikoho. This was assuming they even realized the attack was coming given the blasts incredible speed. The blast would clear the distance before any seals for a summon started and, provided they didn't avoid it in some way, would slam into them, most probably removing them as a threat. The blast would shear off the top twenty meters of the rock structure, leaving it open to the elements, although that wasn't a factor in the sealing. Regardless, plenty of space would be left to ensure no one was accidentally hit who shouldn't have been. More importantly, Kikoho would completely eradicate potential debris, ensuring no death or injury occurred from falling stone and other such things that could have fallen upon the heads of the sealers.

The original Tamwyn, as this was happening, would move in to engage Rin, only much more carefully now, without utilizing the lariat. Provided the Toshiyuki that was holding a flare was gone, and due to the supposed lack of a fire jutsu due to Rin either having to avoid or deal with Shocking Surfaces, the total darkness would still be his ally. He was about twenty meters from Rin, his sensory still active and he too would quickly form his hands into the triangular form and unleash a blast of Kikoho, this one occurring just before his clones. The blast would be centered on Rin himself and would leave a cataclysm of damage in the blast radius as the ground would be furrowed fifty meters deep and one hundred wide. Raijū's influence would be in evidence here as well, augmenting the power of the blast to extreme levels. The blast of dark Raiton would take far less chakra than it took his clone and he would watch and wait to see whether or not his opponent would stand again after it happened.

As Rin had no real way to actually see the raiton building up due to the severity in darkness. Before he could pull off the wind and fire combination Rin’s body suddenly became cloaked in energy as raiton coursed through his body which caused his body to spasm rapidly. Thus rooting the jinchuriki in place as Rin began foaming at the mouth as the raiton burned into his body.

That didn’t prepare Rin for the next technique as a beam that he still cannot see swallowed him whole. Which resulted in extra raiton burning into his flesh as it sought to rip his body asunder. Least to say, the damage was quite breathtaking in a literal sense. By the end of it, Rin’s charred body slowly looked like he was about to fall onto his back. Instead, Rin moved one foot back to catch himself before he fell. A bubbling mass of red chakra leaked from his body as Rin’s wounds were healing before Tamwyn’s eyes. A tail of chakra sprouted from his lower back as the cloak resembled much like the kyuubi himself. Thin trails of steam rolled off his wounds as they’re in the process of healing, doing the kind of work that would normally take surgeons weeks to repair completely. If they could even repair it that is, but at the end of it Rin grinned as he flashed his elongated canines as his fingernails grew longer and sharper.

”Normally, I’d say this is when the fun would begin, but frankly this mission isn’t exactly worth dying over. If you allow me to grab my teammate, we’ll retreat and you’ll have yourself one giant wall.” Rin’s left hand reached over to his right arm as that hand strangely did not change. In fact it was completely wrapped with a sealing cloth full of sealing arts. Of course the healing process would take some time as it wasn’t an instant function.

”While we’re here. Who exactly are you?”

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Toshiyuki Thu Jan 07, 2021 6:17 am

As he was making his way to the cave, T5 would notice the approaching lightning infused ninja first. Foregoing the usage of sign language for subtly, he 'd simply grunt, "Run!" T3 who'd smeared blood on his arm already would take off behind T3 quickly overtaking him as he felt chakra surging in on him from multiple location. He'd thought the plan was good. He'd thought he wouldn't have had to deal with the threat by the tree. He'd not had enough time to really think at all. So he ran. As a bright beam appeared in the distance him he'd run with all of his might, and with a half tiger seal even more than that. On a good day he might have been able to do the math in his head based on change in size of the projectile as well as the light it gave off. As the final clone dispersed from the beam, the one remaining would have to be the original. The memories flooded back like a tidal wave.

The two powerful ninja's collision was nothing if not impressive as the two of them impacted at high speeds, unharmed from even the chakra enhanced blows. Something was off, though T0shi would notice far too late. Tamwym would meet the blow head on absorbing the brunt impact with his lightning cloak. As he did lightning would ripple out oh him through his feet into the ground, T0shi's eyes would grow wide as he realized it was expanding meaning he'd likely be well within the range of the technique. He take a leap backwards to avoid the wave of danger. "Sea-Sealless Jutsu?!" He was airborne momentarily as the other ninja landed in the field of his own jutsu, having been blown back. T0shiyuki quantified him as an extreme threat from that feat alone as his mind began racing for a solution. As T0shi reached the peak of his jump he quickly realized he'd be nowhere near safe 5 meters from his starting point. He'd misunderstood the nature of the jutsu, and though it seemed to be fading, it wasn't doing so nearly quick enough for T0shi's preference. Tamwyn's slow to a stop was accompanied by the formation of a clone. This one also wreathed in his own cloak of lightning move through the field and heading back towards the cave. As a Hail Mary and final act of defiance, T0shiyuki would aim right in front of where Rin was and toss the Fusee orb there at a high angle, not having the time to think of launching it upwards with a justu. Flabbergasted as he landed he hoped that the original had enough time and information to figure out a solution because he was out of ideas. Searing pain exhausted his focus dispelling him and revealing him for the imitation that he was. Find it, was all he could think to himself in his last moments as Rin was overtaken by a strange chakra. The orb would be at the top of its arc now landing in just under a second in his general area.

T1 and 2 as they approached the first thing they really noticed was that their enemy was just a kid. They also noted that he stood before a cave which was dimly radiating light, assuming bright lighting conditions the sealers inside couldn't have been any further than maybe 40 meter's by Toshi's count. The Iwa-nin seemed serious and not at all surprised by the two clones approaching him, which all but confirmed for the two of them that one of the two ninja had to have been a sensor. The other option was simply too unreasonable to be possible. Seeing the handseals form the two clones held back a worried wince. They were too tapped for chakra, the cloning jutsu had spread them too thin, and they didn't know whether or not draining themselves of all of their chakra would prove to be a danger when they dispersed. If they could stop the kid here though things would run smoothly. The explosion of chakra 300 meters away would itch at their peripherals as they struggle to maintain focus on the kid before them. That attention wouldn't be enough though as, just as the two began to synchronize with their optimal paths of approach and get within the cusp of their attacking range, the iwa-nin would release a storm of fire jutsu upon them. The first was easy to dodge, they imagined it was simply to test their mettle, but the remaining dozen or so when they finished assaulting their targets would leave nothing but reduced cinders.

T5 would take a gamble. He'd remain where he was, stationary. As T3 ran off he'd take the time to absorb the lightning enhanced man's movements. Two jutsu were used that were both alien to him, and he wanted to get a glimpse of them to better understand. He couldn't quite tell, but based off of his assumed size of around 2 meters the man was stopping probably somewhere around 200 meters away -give or take 200's a nice even number though- as he yelled for T3 to run. Holding his hands out in front of him, he executed a jutsu with a strange seal. It was closing the distance fast, but it had a ways to travel. Toshi found himself grateful that the ninja hadn't thought him enough of a threat to get closer before launching the attack. With that T5 began to count as he ran away from the cave getting a better angle on the approaching jutsu though losing sight of the caster, it must have been something like 20+ meters wide based on the space it covered. It seemed to be focused on a centralized point aimed at where the two had been. A timer began in his head as the jutsu fired off. Just before the first second passed T5 would, realizing he was incredibly wrong, yell "100 meters wi-!" The jutsu showed no sign of stopping as it enveloped him whole. T5 was the last clone to dispel.

Toshiyuki was more or less alone on the battlefield right now, something he was very used to. Once the first wave of energy was cleared, he'd slow his mind down for a moment. Though his body felt alive with energy it felt different than the deep reserves he'd he felt just moments ago. He doubted he'd be as capable of casting jutsu in this state of mind, but seeing how T5 dispersed, he doubted he'd be doing much of anything if he had been consumed by that beam. With the blood already on his arm he call out softly, "Bino: Arrangement." As a summon would appear next to him. He'd slow just long enough for the eel to speed through the jutsu's three handseals and transform into a katana as durable as jade and just as well crafted. The eternal genin would keep moving until he was over where he projected the sealers to be as ready as he was getting for the events to come. Unaware that his partner had decided to attempt to negotiate a retreat.

The explosian of Rasengan and black lightning caught Chen's attention. He couldn't exactly see the lightning but the crackling of the electricity and the fires it had started on the ground was bringing a clearer picture into view. The opponent had been hurt, badly. Worse yet, they were glowing in some type of red. Chen's clone watched in horror as Tamwyn was knocked a considerable distance from the point of clash. He kept his head on a swivel and focused on Toshiyuki. He had no idea what was going on but the battle between Jounin was far beyond him, so he'd focus on the weaker individual as he was told.

The original Chen smirked as he watched his fire jutsu obliterate the two clones. He would then take flight as previously planned only to watch Tamwyn scour the enemy's attempted infiltration of the mountain with a beam blast. It seemed as though there was now but one. Chen was wrong in his early assumption it seemed as the Toshiyuki he thought was the real one was actually a clone. Chen flirted with going after the last one but given Tamwyn's butting into the fight and Rin's lack of a retaliation, Chen assumed the Jounin had this under control. Thus both Chen and his clone floated in the air while holding handseals ready to assist if necessary.

Tamwyn watched as everything he had done to the man before him healed before his very eyes. A thick, almost viscous looking cloak of chakra coalesced around him. It bubbled and took the general form of a fox with a tail although Rin could clearly be seen in the center. The chakra surrounding the man felt twisted and primal, not evil per se, but definitely powerful. His bright yellow eyes took in the healing being done to the man, the lightning burns healed, the damage caused by his techniques removed. The clone of the boy had dispelled. It had feebly tried to throw a flare in front of Rin but such a thing had no chance of surviving against Kikoho and the thing had been blown out like a christmas light in the clash. Rin himself looked no worse for wear now and Tamwyn's head tilted to the side as his opponent spoke. Spoke and...surrendered? Was that what he was hearing? "My clone can bring your partner, I'd rather not let you get closer than necessary to the sealers if it's all the same to you. If you're serious about surrendering, then disperse that strange chakra you're using. I won't attack you again, although I won't disperse my cloak." He would say, telling the man simply what he wanted and wouldn't do. "I won't try to take your prisoner, or your partner, my word on it." He would say before listening to the man as he asked who he was. "My name is Tamwyn, in some circles I'm referred to as the 'Seraph of Lightning'. Whom are you? For that matter what is that chakra?" He would ask, his piercing yellow eyes looking at the cloak before finally settling on the man's shoulders. They were the best part of the body to watch for movement.

Clonewyn had fired his Kikoho, the beam was obliterating all in it's path, the top of the small mountain that Toshiyuki was on had been obliterated with no visible debris. However Clonewyn saw the boy start to move, somehow, someway, the shinobi had noticed him. How that was possible he wasn't sure, however Toshiyuki had indeed managed to avoid the beam somehow by running as fast as he could out of the range. He made it too 'barely'. Clonewyn could of course sense the boy and knew his precise location, for the boy was still well within his sensory range, given that he'd had to travel fifty meters away to avoid the beam and he was two hundred meters away from Clonewyn starting than that would put him a little further than two hundred meters but not overtly so. Since Clonewyn's sensory range was 250 meters. That would still put the boy well within his range. Of course, Clonewyn wouldn't stop the attack now that the boy had avoided it. As a matter of fact, he wouldn't even wait for Kikoho to finish. As soon as the beam left his hands, and continued traveling it's three hundred meter range. Clonewyn would move, dropping into the Disturbance Taijutsu style he would run along the outside edge of the beam toward Toshiyuki at his maximum possible speed. Seeing as he outpaced the blast itself, he would actually be able to use it as a sort of wall. This meant Toshiyuki wouldn't be able to move closer toward the shelf to avoid him if he could even see him coming.

Of course Toshiyuki would have had to move away from the rock shelf to avoid the beam. Given the entire top of it had been cleaved off by the attack. As Clonewyn moved, the beam next to him still continuing to move toward it's end point before dissipating, he would arrive. His arm would already be out, the full force of the Lariat aiming to take his opponent in the chest. He wouldn't even slow down prior to impact. Given that Toshiyuki had only summoned after Kikoho had cleared, he would still be without the creature, and more importantly without the sword. Should the Lariat land upon the teen he should be flung heavily away with shattered bones and consciousness leaving him. Although the real damage would have to be seen after the fact. Given that he hit with his full force and the technique used would two different instances of damage though, the odds weren't in his opponents favor.

Provided that went as planned however, Clonewyn would move to pick up the hopefully unconscious Toshiyuki and take him back toward Tamwyn. He might be a useable hostage if Tamwyn and the dark haired man were still fighting. Upon arriving, again, assuming all this occurred, he would set the boy down on the ground near Rin before dispersing.

Thankfully the later introduced Tamwyn agreed to Rin’s surrender, albeit Tamwyn’s clone would be the one to get Rin’s teammate rather than him which was understandable. The cloak of the bijuu’s chakra seemed to have bewildered the lightning user however, and for a moment Rin truly forgot that a Jinchuriki was a bit of a rarity. Especially in combat such as this, but given that Nozomi was a globally known Jinchuriki the young Tohsaka figured that Tamwyn would at least hear of it. Then again hearing was a bit different than seeing it in action.

”Right, sorry about that.” For a moment Rin’s voice cut off as he felt a burning sensation crawling in agonizing pain from his right hand. The jinchuriki looked down at his right arm to see dark, blood red lines spider webbing from the sealing cloth up to his forearm. The cloak dissipated as Rin dismissed it, and the pain ceased to grow albeit it was still there. There was a look of confusion on his expression, and even though the cloak was gone Rin’s eyes were still the same as Kurama’s. Although unless someone told him Rin wouldn’t notice that part.

”I am Rin Tohsaka, The Ironblood, and that chakra was a little something from a friend of mine. Unfortunately if this fight had gone any further, said friend would rather take over my mind and body that wrecks destruction everywhere.” Memories of being in Menza’s facility as he was pitted against Menza and Kyoji at the same time. Rin’s eyes that spoke of bloodthirsty rage, yet his demeanor betrays that. The canines and talons retract to normal as Rin turned his attention over to Toshiyuki who still tried to make a break for a cave. What exactly was in there, Rin couldn’t honestly tell, but his keen eyes even through this veil of darkness could pick out his teammate from Rin’s current position.

”I’d rather not scar this world. Not when there’s still so much to do, yet so little time.”

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Toshiyuki Thu Jan 14, 2021 6:04 am

As he'd clear the range of the jutsu that obliterated the rock shelf behind him but he'd keep moving towards his goal. He'd stopped relying on his partner the moment that he realized that the two of them were outclassed by just one of the two opposing ninja. Though his opponent's clone would begin making his way towards him, Toshi wouldn't have had anyway to know that before he'd cleared the triangular jutsu's targeted range. His opponent moved at truly ludicrous speeds, but being a fair distance away the half second it'd take Toshi to clear the distance outside of the jutsu's range would still give him the same window of action against his opponent. All Toshi would notice is that where there should have been a person below the rock shelf 200 meters away there no longer was. Making a quick reassessment of his life choices up until this point, he'd off the cliff face going at a slow high arcing path, staying relatively close to the wall face. He shoulda stayed low to begin with.

Tentatively, he'd pull his brother's alabaster flute towards his lips, and begin listen to the sounds of his instincts [Deactivating Hidden Voracity] giving them form in the sound of cryptic tunes.

Two boys, one notably older, sat on a tree limb high in the forest. The older boy would hand a half unwrapped sandwich to the younger who would slowly lower a flute from his lips. "You know Ma and Pop hate that right, Toshi? They have high expectations for the future leader of the clan." With a sigh and a 'not this again' eye roll. The younger boy would set down his flute and began scarfing down the gifted sandwich. The older boy would let out an exasperated sigh, thinking for a moment. "Toshiyuki," he'd pause waiting for the distractable boy's full attention. "Ma asked me a question a few days ago. I'd like to here your thoughts." It'd happed the last tim the older boy had tried to defend his brother's pursuant of life's joys from their parent's. "She said," He'd mockingly imitate his mother's voice as he continued, "Hirohiko, why does the king ride the horse?"

The younger boy would think for a few seconds before responding. "Because they know their place in life."

Hirohiko would smile at his brother. "Very good Toshi, that's what Ma said as well, but I have to disagree. The difference comes down to their instincts. The horse knows that if he can follow the lead of the King he will break past all of the limits he once thought to hold him back. Meanwhile the King does so of his own accord. The King bolsters his allies simply by overcoming who he once was. Basically the line between someone who can draw strength from inside themselves and someone who must be protected, it's their instinct. Toshiyuki Ma and Pop expect you to become that King, that's why they are so strict with you." Hirohiko would gently grab the back of his brother's head before lightly ruffling it.

Still less than a half a second would have passed as he just began his initial descent. Worst case scenario he'd now be fighting the two opposing ninja in close combat and the Uchiha was dead. He needed time to think. As began his fall a puff of smoke would appear around him using the blood intended for a different summon. Toshi plotted most of the possible vectors from which the ninja might approach, assuming he was using conventional movement, and he was confident that the genjutsu would hold anyone, save for a certain hot-wheeled pretender. He'd emerge from the cloud with blue hued skin, and he'd be sturdy enough to handle the fall. Toshi dude, see the dangerous lookin' guy? Every time he was pushed like this it was always a cloud ninja. Toshi would come to a skidded halt hoping he was overestimating his foe.

As the boy jumped off the mountain, we'll say from ten meters up to make sure that no part of this can be voided because of spooky reality bending ways. He would be getting close, however as the boy somehow pulled out a flute from a pouch, and raised it to his lips and began to play in less than half a second no less, which was truly a capable feat of speed. Surely his opponent had to be quite coordinated, at least as much as he himself, right? Right? But regardless, as the boy began to play Clonewyn, his sensory ever active, would sense the thirty meter area around the boy as he fell come alive with chakra. He of course, being smarter than the average clone, stopped at forty meters while the boy was still eight meters in the air, his fall still ongoing. Of course Tamwyn would do this before using the Lariat. Smoke would poof around Toshiyuki as the clones hands formed a very familiar diamond pattern and lightning already firing from his steepled hands, the smoke blocking any line of sight of Tamwyn. He however could still sense Toshiyuki, so aiming was of little issue. The brilliant flash of lightning would tear across the forty meter space between them with it's maximum speed and most probably, slam into the boy as he reached the four meter mark from the ground. He centered the beam on the boy and Tamwyn himself was in front of the cave entrance, so the sealers themselves were quite safe from his beams onslaught. The raiton chakra, should it hit, would slam into the boy with great ferocity. The beam, one hundred meters wide and tall, and three hundred meters long, would travel at speeds that many shinobi only aspired to reach. Of course, since the boy was playing a flute, there would be realistically, almost nothing he could do in response.

Should this all be successful, the boy would more than likely be a charred and lightning burned mess, barely alive, although he doubted he would die. Clonewyn felt like the universe for some reason wouldn't allow someone to die here this day. He would probably be unconscious though and provided that was true he would move toward the defeated shinobi and lift him up before bringing him back to the original and Rin, who were waiting with oh such patience. When the clone arrived it would move to hand the boy to Rin before dispersing. Tamwyn himself would nod at Rin as if that was that, the pale haired man staying silent after Rin had introduced himself. "That's that then, I request that you leave now, peacefully." He would say simply, his yellow piercing gaze watching the man intently for any sign of aggressive intent. Provided the man left, he himself would move back to the cave entrance to stand his vigil over the sealers.

Battle of The Barrier (ToW) Empty Re: Battle of The Barrier (ToW)

Post by Toshiyuki Tue Jan 26, 2021 3:44 am

There were three possibilities, all were in Toshi's favor. The first is that the ninja fighting Rin was dangerously low on chakra due to the excessive usage of jutsu with both his clone and with the fight the original was doubtlessly engaging in. I can appreciate the rush down technique, but it'll be his undoing. Once I've locked the clone in his genjutsu, it'd simply be a matter of time before he ran out of chakra. The second option is that the clone would only briefly be entangled in my jutsu, but I would only need the one moment to ensure my victory against the clone. I suspect that Gambino would be able to break this jutsu just as Rin had as he'd never seen any thing stand up to his raw cutting power let alone a bushin. The third option is the most favorable, and the most likely. It would have to be a major chakra expenditure to keep sending of powerful blasts like the one. There was no way any ninja, barring maybe the Mizukage, would be able to handle such an output. Simply meaning that this man's clone would probably be dispelled soon as it had to be more effort than it was worth.

There was still no sign of the clone which just lent credence to his conclusions. There was the beginnings of the smallest bit of a smirk through his pursed lips. His win condition was about to be met. His eyes locked onto the location of the cave entrance. He was in the home stretch. Once he locked down the clone Gambino would handle the rest from there. The chilling aura created by his music set the tone for what would soon become his first time baring his fangs at another human with the intent to kill them. This would be the moment of recognition he'd sought from his family since his brother's death. He'd become something worth his brother dying for. It'd be his first step of ridding the world of the man that'd taken his adorable brother from him. Everything was going so smoothly, so smoothly Toshi's mind raced looking for something wrong. Things were never so simple.

[Activating Precog 1 on Rin] Suddenly the air crakled with energy around the ninja in front of him, even the moisture itself was obliterated as suddenly there were two ninja and both were surround by incredible chakra that on their own would be able to send Toshi flying. That chakra what was it, and why did it feel so monstrous? What kind of nature transformation could even accomplish that? As the raiton cloak surrounding the attacking ninja spread to the ground, there was something different about the energy around Rin for a moment. The jutsu he used. If it were a last resort ninjutsu, that'd make sense. Some sort of forbidden defensive technique that gave him access to an unstoppable healing power or an unpiercable defense. If that were the case though why is this clone here, and why now. Occam's Razor: Normally, Id say this is when the fun would begin, but frankly this mission isnt exactly worth dying over." That was the missing piece.

Toshi's concentration on his genjutsu broke.

[Activating Precog 2 on Tamwyn] The clone stopped in front of him. Though the image would reach Toshi's eyes just as his attack was going off. "Ki- The clone's chakra was different. It wasn't the strange ebony lightning that the one fighting Rin used. I'd not noticed that before. I'd bet 1000 to 1 that this is the clone now. That ninja also has some strange nature transformation I've never seen before, but it is tied closely to his body in a way that it doesn't replicate when he clones. It's almost like how Faces used to be when we first started training SWM. Ko- That diamond shape it can't be a jutsu's seal, can it? His jutsu are sealless. If his strange chakra nature transformation is where he's getting all of this power from then that's why Rin gave up. He must know what it is. Damn it. It's too bad I'm going to die here. My... my hand. Ah that face. Just a little farther. Death by angel wouldn't seem that bad, but maybe if I just a little faster, trained a little harder, or reached just a litHo."

It was an afterimage. The jutsu'd already been fired by the time Toshi had realized what was going on. Like a wall, the wave of energy hit him. Like a comet piercing through a rain cloud, it moved through him. A silent yell would release from his mouth as the wall of energy agonizingly made its way through him, even the physics of his body lagging behind the jutsu as the cells of his skin then his musculature were seared. With a smoke would quickly billow past him as Faces dispelled. Sorry, would be his last coherent thought, and he would quickly follow in it's wake maintaining his downward momentum he'd be rolled across the ground for meters. As his body scraped across the ground he'd catch on an imperfection and be bounced off of the ground like a summer toy before crashing into the wall of the rock shelf, no where near his target. The force from his impact with it alone would've been enough to break his bones as a crater was made into the wall with his body. The jutsu continued though that fraction of a second of resistance with from the wall was enough to catch him back up to the front.

For 250 meters he was burrowed into the wall before the jutsu stopped. Red hot rock crackled as a burnt and broken Toshiyuki still sparking with electricity was wedged into the him shaped crater. How his body even remained at all was a mystery. Maybe the Clone ran out of chakra. Maybe the jutsu's natural affinity for moving into earth jutsu had given him some sort of protection. Maybe this area's weird chakra had done something. Maybe this was simply fate. The Toshiyuki here and now contemplated none of this though. He simply clung to his life. He'd fought as hard as he could against impossible odds, and this was what he was met with. Toshiyuki would fall out of the crater to the bottom of the triangular prism. Lightning still crackling around the limp body.

It'd probably be some time before reinforcements could come get him.
    [Attempted Exit]

[I hadn't posted my observations of Tam, so I'm just gonna claim it on this post. I doubt it'll be contested, but thought I'd say it anyways.]

Chen watched from the air as the battle folded and unfolded before his very eyes. Tamwyn soundly defeated Toshiyuki with an Raiton attack, but before he could do anything else, the Seraph fell to some mysterious force. Rin likewise appeared to be unresponsive. Chen now floated in the skyline as the sole remaining combatant. He wasn't sure what to make of the situation. The battle was over just as quickly as it had begun. He flew to the cave where the fuuin specialists were working. They still had a few ways to go. Chen flew back out and surveyed the area. Everyone was as they were. Unconscious and motionless. This definitely wasn't Genjutsu. The goth hung in the air and waited for the barrier to be erected. Once it was complete, he knew that he had been victorious. He collected his once formidable companion and took him to the nearby med tent for their side.

    [Exit]
