Riku is a young lad with the natural Nara black hair that he refuses to keep in the ponytail fashion favoured by his clan, instead preferring to keep it at a medium length. He possessed light grey eyes and light skin, with an almost constant cocky smile on his face. The young Nara possesses a rather weak figure that shows how little he bothers to work out. When he’s out on a serious trip he prefers to keep toward light-weight equipment. While the young Nara is out on a social trip or simply wandering the village he frequently changes his outfit to new bright coloured options, with a preference towards robes and sandals.
History:
Born into the Nara clan, Riku from a young age was pushed into studying within the clan. The young boy proving to have a talent for the intellectual arts, but in his physical training was already demonstrating a lack of aptitude in comparison to the other Nara children. This troubled his own family as to whether he would be able to meet the requirements for the academy, and so he was pushed further to achieve. From this he developed a strong rebellious attitude to authority, quickly finding any excuse he could to escape study and training to explore the streets of Konoha. The wandering young street rat took to playing with the other hoodlums in the lower districts of the village causing mischief and nuisances for many of the civilians they crossed. The quick witted Nara finding he had a specialty for card games, frequently trying to con people with childish card games.
When Riku came of age to join the academy, his family hesitantly put him instantly, much to his chagrin. The rebellious young boy had little interest in becoming a shinobi, finding much more pleasure playing in the streets then sitting in classes. While he was quick to pass through most tests and basic jutsu practices by his wits alone, when time came for the physical sparring, Riku came up short every time. The young Nara’s lessons in the streets however taught him there was a different route, the young Nara taking to cheating in any possible opportunity he could avoid detection. Hiding knuckles inside his gloves, sneaking off with sake from his clanhouse to strengthen his nerves just before fights, he did it all. Even then he lost almost constantly to the stronger students, however he had done just enough to assure his pass and acquiring his headband much to his families hidden annoyance for how he earned it.
Personality:
Riku’s behaviour could be labelled many different words; impulsive, cocky even downright arrogant. The young Nara had a tendency towards rebellion against authority figures, finding ways to loophole around orders and actively avoiding his duties. There was an almost constant grin plastered to the young boys face, seeming to find entertainment in most things he does. This overtly cocky attitude has a sort of ‘aura’ around him, at times making him seem taller than he really is.
The young Nara had a tendency towards laziness even when the plans are his own, frequently finding ways to delegate to friends and teammates alike. This laziness however is held at bay by a fierce loyalty Riku possesses, springing to action when he feels a friend is in trouble.

Riku grinned widely, a deck of crisp cards in his hands as he strolled through the streets of Konoha. He had just acquired this fresh pair of cards, having busily spent hours modifying this set for some light-hearted entertainment. His eyes twinkling with ideas to have fun today. The bustling market districts within the village always had an overflow of gullible tourists and young clanners with far too much money to waste; his favourite people. This district was never quiet, that and the influx of people always made it easier for Riku to navigate without fear of being recognised. In his vision, the young Nara noticed an empty gap between two stalls, the owners of each busily yelling out new deals and sales. The grin on the Nara’s face grew slightly wider as he spun on his heel and began shuffling through the crowds towards them.
If there was anything people called Riku, it was never fast. A true slacker at heart, the black-haired youth enjoyed taking his time with travelling. Though his hands were a different matter, shuffling his deck of cards at a rapid pace, his coordination practiced from repeating the same card tricks day in and day out. Grinning widely as he approached the first stall, a fruit stall to be specific. Looking towards the fruits, Riku stopped the shuffling of his cards at the last moment, but not before quickly flicking a single card in between his fingers, hidden on his palm. With his other hand, he grabbed one a large apple. The Nara admired the red texture of the apple for a moment before moving to place it back on the stall with a nod to the merchant, just before it landed on the rest however Riku quickly flung his hidden card from his hands to be buried by the apple.
“Lost my appetite.” Riku said casually with a playful grin to the merchant, his finger slightly pressing on the side of the playing card sticking out from under the apple.
He had been spending hours rigging up a cheap flash powder mix that he had painstakingly went about hiding within the hard paper at the centre of the card. As the Nara spun on his heel once more and wandered off, he heard a loud bang noise followed by a few confused screams and shouts from among the pedestrians. A few pieces of fruit went flying from the stall as the small card exploded in a loud flash. Satisfied with the prank’s reactions, Riku gave one final relaxed smile as he slunk back into the crowd to find other funny spots.
