Only a day acclimated to his new home of Kumogakure no Sato, it didn't take long for Kyousuke's eagerness to sizzle past the boiling point. Already the young Sasaki had requested to undertake in his new duties as a member of the military force, asking to be assigned and deployed to missions of the utmost importance to the country of Kaminari no Kuni. Naturally in his mind he had wished for a combat oriented mission, a task that would take advantage of his skills as a swordsman. As he would soon come to realize, however, the act of rushing things was a path later met by extreme disappointment. As a newly inducted member of Kumogakure, he was naturally ranked a Genin and Genin— when alone— were strictly prohibited from taking on missions C rank or above, something the Sasaki, would soon learn.
Receiving the mission scroll given to him by the jonin within the administration building, Kyousuke's golden eyes gleamed with excitement— however— It was an emotion short lived. Upon actually laying his eyes on the piece of paper that detailed his assignment, he could only look back upon the jonin, his golden eyes so clearly expressing the question if this had been a joke. The man had expected his reaction, simply nodding slowly and repeatedly until Kyousuke could accept it as fact. This was far from the task he had expected, how could he even prove himself a warrior with such a mission? This was his reality now. A sigh would exit his body, and what was once eagerness and excitement had turned into an urgement to get the task over it. He was a samurai with honor, and honor meant fulfilling responsibilities that were not exactly wished by the samurai.
And so the boy’s service began.
