Exhibition Match: Genin VS Kage.

Hana observed the sand begin to stockpile and grow onto either side of her. It was an impressive display of power as she saw the sand build up into two identical walls encompassing a wide space. Hana was smack in the middle of the growth making any direction of evasion the longest it could. Ideally somebody could travel underground to avoid getting sandwiched but she imagined especially in the environment they were in that surrounding oneself with sand would not be the wisest of moves. She learned a technique recently like the one he was using however instead it utilized water over sand. She wondered how well they would compare in power.

When Calis executed his technique she felt his chakra move violently as the two forces began to clash. Hana prepared to tank this one instead of evading. It was ideal to always dodge but she felt it made for poor performance. And they were supposed to be putting some sort of show on by the way. She’d perform Shell, a defensive technique which enforced bone growth under her skin to provide a defense that was solid (S/S) and provide a general boost to her Constitution for absorbing impact (A++.) The sand spikes would nick her skin but stop there being unable to breach her defenses.

Calis would watch the constructs of sand reach her, the repelling forces driving toward her in an elaborate showing. Cheers came from the crowd at the display and he briefly wondered just how much the Mizukage was holding back from smearing him across the training yard for the sake of the mission. The Iron Sand Method jutsu had worked flawlessly, and as much as he could wish it moved a little faster, it’s sheer area control left little else to be desired. It was definitely a technique that he could take into the exams and utilize to catch some unsuspecting individuals out. It also had the added benefit of putting his sand against her. Which would allow him to utilize other jutsu from it as a source. An ability that lent itself to any of his clan techniques. Now he could try to capture her with sand coffin, or simply try to reach out to grasp at her with the sands normal movements. With the Iron Sand Method jutsu under his belt, it would be high time to try to perfect the sand coffin, if he could ever get her into the confines of the sand. He could practice another useful technique.

So, with that jutsu under his belt, he would begin to have his sand attempt to catch Hana once more. While the shell technique was still up, the sand would reach out at C+ speed and grasp her, tightening around her at it’s best force. Causing her to be trapped if it succeeded. The power required to escape would be S class and if it succeeded he would be able to try testing a technique that would radically increase the pressure within the confines of the prison.

Iron Sand World Method Learned

Hana remained motionless, willingly as well as unwillingly due to the technique’s restraint on her body. Shell was a literal lay of body beneath her skin. And like all bone it was not flexible meaning her movement was completely locked it. In exchange she was giving a near perfect defense. All of her valuables were protected by the shell of bone when his sand began to swallow her whole. She had a general ideal where Calis was going with this. If his manipulation was as free form as she thought he could easily crush her with the sand or iron maiden her by running her through with spikes. She imagined the latter would be much more ideal for tougher opponent with stronger bodies. Something that pressure wouldn’t simply win over.

She was unmoved by the sand coffin feeling completely confident that her bone technique would reign superior. Seeing how slow the sand moved she imagined the power may scale with the speed he could crush her. She let the sand engulf her to gauge how powerful it really was. Even if the technique was vastly underestimated she would receive some moderate injuries at most. The Kaguya’s defense was just one of two superior traits. Any injuries she sustained could immediately be healed at the cost of some chakra and bones repaired. She was practically indestructible.

The jutsu succeeded in grasping her, either by her will, or her inability to avoid it for some reason. Now it was time to try a new jutsu, and he would suddenly increase the pressure inside of the coffin, causing the sand the violently implode and crush whatever was inside. The technique only had B tier force behind it, so he wasn’t sure if it would be strong enough to do any real damage to Hana. However it would still be a solid jutsu to have under his belt in the exams if he could get it down. Normally, it would allow him to liquify opponents entirely, causing massive amounts of blood to seep out of the sand prison. He could also manipulate the force of the technique, allowing him to merely break bones instead. However against a kage he had little doubt she would be able to handle the entire force of the jutsu. While most people would probably be simply liquid or into a crushed state, he would be willing to wager that she herself would be fine. Although this did end them in sort of a stalemate.

With his prison around her, she couldn’t move her body unless her strength exceeded S tier. This meant she couldn’t even perform seals. Calis would take the moment the try out another jutsu on her as well. She could break out eventually, somehow, and this would allow him to get one or two more jutsu under his belt before she decided to ream his skull against the ground. Forming a sphere of his sand into a singular bullet he would put as much force and strength behind it as he possible could before launching it toward the prison. From the constructs of the Iron Sand World Method. It would strike the prison with A tier force and disperse into sandy particles afterwards. A single bullet, simple enough to execute.

Sand Bullet Learned

Hana had front row seats to the coup de grace technique Calis had in store. The tremendous build up of sand worked to build up mass around the girl before chomping down in one great implosion. It was a unique technique working to implode versus explode. The pressure and damage would be captured in an increasingly smaller space versus expanding outwards. This meant it would continuously crush and compress the victim instead. Hana felt the pressure increase, being stopped by her bone armor, but an impressive amount of pressure cause a bit of discomfort though not any visible pain or damage. It was simply too tight for her pleasure. But fortunately discomfort didn’t mean defeat. She could tolerate it for days and nights without suffering too much of a drawback. Perhaps the armor would need to be reinforced but that was it.

In the end Hana got bored, causing bone spikes to sprout all around her. This helped move and displace the sand coffin as each spike pierced through and weakened the hold Calis had over her entirely. She sprouted dozens of bone spikes to the point where only small, narrow veins of sand remained between the bones weakening the coffin’s grip significantly. This freed up her movement to form three distinctive hand signs. After the completion of them a cloud would form over the arena as rain began to drizzle. As the water passed through the air it would dissolve chakra exposed. This locked down all of Calis’ sand technique. Unfortunately this meant Hana was covered in sand.

As she loosened herself from the confines of the prison her three seals would cause rain clouds to form and drops of water to fall upon the ground. This would cause Calis’ jutsu to quickly become null and void and his sand bullet would dissolve into mushy particles of sand under the constant downpour of chakra sapping rain. He would dissolve his active jutsu, causing the particles that made them up to fall so that no one would have a giant muddy tower of sand falling upon them. He had learned a great many number of jutsu today, and he fully intended to take the time to learn even more.

Her hard counter to his ninjutsu would cause him to sigh in resignation, he didn’t currently have any other answers. Which was something he would have to work on. He would bow politely to the Mizukage, he knew when he was beaten, and with a jutsu like this around, he couldn’t function, yet.

With the rain down pouring Calis would be without his signature technique. She’d move her gloved hand up to her face and wipe away whatever sand remained. “That’s it? All you have to rely on is your Ninjutsu. When you encounter someone with a counter against it, what will you do then?” It was a bit of a rhetorical question. Hana had an ideal that Calis was striving to be a specialize. As a Genin this meant he would rely a little too much on one thing. But the harsh reality is there were technique that served as hard counters. In Hana’s military if he wanted to be anything higher than a Chuunin he would either need to max his current technique or diversify his fields. “That’s enough for today, though. You’ve done fairly well. Practice more and I’m sure you will be a threat to even a Jounin.” With those final words she’d make a quick exit by disappointing with sheer speed.

“Indeed, that is all I am capable of at the moment. However I already intend to fix that issue in the very near future.” He would say honestly, a small shrug following it as he made the claim. It was true enough, he simply hadn’t had the time to focus on training other aspects and his clan ninjutsu were what would give him the edge in the exams. He had every intention of becoming an absolutely terror on a battlefield as soon as he had more time to focus on other aspects of shinobi training. He was considering Kenjutsu, or Taijutsu, but he didn’t have the physical endurance required for the latter. The former could be used elegantly, using high speed to counter any requirement for physical hardiness. He began to think about all of the jutsu he’d learned today. ‘Desert Suspension, Iron Sand Gathering, Iron Sand Drizzle, Iron Sand World Method, Shield of Sand, Sand Binding Prison, Particle Generation, Sand Waterfall Funeral, and Sand Bullet.’ It was an impressive list for a single day and he was still only partially done with what he wanted for the exams.

Her exit would be swift, a bit rude, but Calis didn’t particularly care. He would turn the Academy Instructor and bow politely before waving goodbye and leaving for home. He needed a shower after all the sandy mud got onto him, and to do laundry.
