Appearance:
Tsukimi dresses beautifully, colorful silks and satin, gemstones and threaded gold being the privileges of the wealthy Hozuki clan. Her hair, the azure blue of the waters that her physique can transform into, cascades heavily to the backs of her calves, rarely cut in her sixteen years and left untouched save for the odd strand braided with gold. Her skin, free of scarring or freckles, is sun-kissed. And her eyes are the hue of minted gold.
However, as graceful as she aspires to emulate, such finery cannot distract from the fact that Tsukimi stands at only 5'0." She lacks the feminine curves of other sixteen-year-olds within the village and possesses notable muscle definition from her kunoichi training at the academy. She expresses a preference for upholding a sense of fashion that modernizes traditional feminine garments but, truthfully, believes that by wearing tight-fitting clothing she can distract from her own insecurities.
Typically, she wears her shinobi head-protector around her throat, like some makeshift necklace. Consequently, bringing further attention to the jewel-encrusted pendant around her throat, the symbol of her clan secured by a chain of thin gold. She also carries two bottles of water on her person.
History: Her father is "Golden" Getsumei. Whereas others within the Hozuki clan contributed to the family's wealth through the supply of rarities, medicines or livestock and food, Getsumei invested in money-houses, supplying and allocating the supply of gold throughout Kirigakure and also his own clan. Successfully enough to make him one of the more influential members of the Hozuki. His gaze set upon the seat of the clan leader.
So much so he failed to notice the failing health of his beloved wife, not until it was too late. From then on his ambition turned closer to an obsession, determining that alone would justify the sacrifice of his love.
Tsukimi, his only child, lived a lifestyle of privilege but also one of loneliness. Her father, so preoccupied with his work and his obsession, only expressed his affection towards her in the form of indulging her every superficial wish and expenses she never asked for, in brief words and briefer expressions should she act the demure daughter. To act like a doll. Unfortunately, she lacked the emptiness of one, having inherited his ambitiousness. In Tsukimi's mind, her father would be happier were he only to achieve his dream of being leader, they'd both be happier. She wanted to help him reach such happiness.
When she suggested the notion of becoming a kunoichi, a figure that would serve the village, her father had scoffed. Even so, she applied to enter the academy anyway, and was accepted but perhaps she should have paid attention to his earlier reaction. For his displeasure was apparent in his sudden silence towards her, in him coming home far less. In a lack of interest in her awakening her kekkei genkai during her studying. In not attending her graduation from the academy.
Perhaps he thought he could break her resolve. However, he only made hers the stronger for it, convincing Tsukimi that only by making her father the clan leader can she mend the distance between them.
Personality: It is a commonly held belief that those within the Hozuki are arrogant and disdainful towards others - after all, Kirigakure would not exist if not for themselves, their superiority is well-founded. However, Tsukimi lacks the sort of confidence to truly believe that. Unfortunately, the lavishness of her attire and lifestyle and the cool composure in which she was raised to emulate tends to isolate her from others. She's also quite sheltered, prone to speaking thoughtlessly and making impulsive assessments. She's somewhat introverted, not knowing how to lower that demure "doll-mask" of hers to allow others to see her genuine self.
She's critical, possessing high-expectations - particularly towards herself. It makes her meticulous, stubborn, hard-working but often she toes the line of being a perfectionist. And becomes quickly frustrated towards failure. She tends to respect and is drawn towards those as similarly stubborn. And has little patience for those that whine and complain and look to others to resolve their problems for them.
At heart, Tsukimi is gentle and sensitive. Perhaps not the most ideal traits of a kunoichi but it does make her protective, a willingness to help those closest to her.
