Description: The Academy Taijutsu Instructor is looking to hire an aide to lend them a hand at the academy today. Head on over and meet up with the instructor who will explain that the two of you will do a light Taijutsu Spar in front of the students.

Satori led the way along toward the training grounds nearest the Academy. He'd already contacted the instructor and offered an alternative to the primary objective. The goal was to show off Taijutsu after all. So instead of having Satori beat the man down in front of his own students, Satori had offered the idea of training with Midori--a Taijutsu specialist as well.

The offer was accepted under the rule that if he felt either of them weren't up-to-par he would step in and act as head instructor. Until then he as content letting them do a showing and explain the fight while holding lessons to the students that watched.

Satori glanced toward Midori with a grin as they walked toward a class of about sixteen Academy Students. They all appeared to be around nine to ten, marking them as first-years. They were already getting stares due to their size and appearance, but Satori didn't mind. Walking forward with his usual casual air toward a middle-aged special jounin that waved in greeting as they approached.

Midori trailed Satori by a few steps, and while she was aggravated with having to put her abilities, and by proxy herself, on display for others, she was trying to focus on what she would be gaining from it. She would get a bit of money, which was always useful, but more than that she was going to be gaining a bit of Satori's time and expertise in shopping later. With that in mind, while she certainly wasn't frowning, she also didn't want to cave in the litter of eyes that watched them as she approached, but she was thankful they were young. She didn't see the desire in their eyes that she did in the boys her own age, and that in itself was refreshing, so she decided that perhaps this wouldn't be so bad after all.

She looked towards the instructor, gave him a nod of respect, and waited for Satori to make all the introductions, explanations and so forth for the class itself. He was always designated for any sort of social interactions whenever they worked together because most of the time people had a difficult time understanding the way that Midori talked, or rather, how she didn't add any details or fluff into what she said. Bare minimum to get her point across, and that was it, and she wasn't changing that for anyone. Even when addressing higher ranking individuals she would barely speak, preferring body language and such, but most anyone who interacted with her at all knew and understood this.

Satori's grin widened as Midori trudged along behind him. Even if she disliked it, getting social was good for her development. However minor it may be. The fact they were all young would likely assist her as well. Once they'd arrived, Satori turned and faced the students with a wide smile, large fangs flashing and causing several students to look uneasy. As well as the Ryuutei clan symbol decorating his jacket's shoulder above his headband.

Despite these looks, Satori wasn't perturbed or judgemental in the slightest. He understood the fear many had for his clan, and knew the only way to make proper connections was to push past it.

"I'm Satori Ryuutei, Twentieth seat of the Ryuutei Clan, and Genin of Kirigakure. It's nice to meet all of you. This is Midori Ryuutei," Satori nodded toward the woman before clapping his hands together.

"I'm not a Taijutsu specialist, but I'm pretty decent at it. Similarly, Midori here is a Taijutsu specialist herself and one of the best I know. We're going to be demonstrating some Taijutsu that you all can actually learn from your teacher, or us, later. It's known as the Arkhat style, and it's designed to help ninja make up for what they usually lack," Satori glanced around the faces as he held his chin in thought.

"Can anyone tell me what that is?" Smiling softly, the children looked between one another in confusion, before frowning in thought. Finally, one young man lifted his hand slowly.

"Yes! What's your name, and what do you think it is?" Satori smiled softly, hands clasping behind his back as the blonde young man nervously nursed his bottom lip.

"U-uhm, I'm Usagi Kuromiya, sir, is the answer physical power, Ryuutei-san?" He inquired uncertainly, causing Satori to clap both hands together once.

"Precisely, Kuromiya-san. Can you tell me why that is?" As Satori asked this, the boy seemed to relax a bit after getting it right. The teacher behind him looking pleased that Satori was actually interacting with the class as a proper replacement for himself.

"Um, I think, because most of our training focuses on mobility, agility, and speed. Physical power is usually secondary because you can use Ninjutsu to cover those weaknesses, but you need proper dexterity and speed to buy time to use Ninjutsu," as the boy explained this, Satori smiled.

"Excellent, Kuromiya-san. You're correct. Most ninja simply lack the raw physical power to devastate opponents with basic Taijutsu. Only specialists in the field tend to have beyond high-athletic raw physical strength. Now, it is possible as you said, to use Ninjutsu for raw destructive ability. But you don't always have the chance to do that in a real battle," he smiled softly, before turning and motioning toward Midori.

"I'm going to teach Midori-san here the style, and while she's learning to use it I'd like you all to pay close attention. You'll be mimicking us after this demonstration after all."

Midori had been standing there with her arms crossed as Satori began to explain everything with everyone, but she couldn't help but scan their faces. Naturally, as he always seemed to be able to do, Satori had captured their attention, and not only that, but the people who were shirking away from him due to his clan were even starting to come around as he spoke. He had a natural way of drawing their attention, engaging them in conversation, and making it to where he could draw out their instinctive curiosity and desire to learn more so than their fear of him and their clan. That natural charisma was something that she genuinely like about him.

But as he continued to speak, and she watched their little faces, and he spoke about how it took time to get Ninjutsu to work through speed and such, she noticed a couple of them gain a more sorrowful expression. For some reason, that pulled at her heart, like she recognized something, and after a moment, she realized that when their teachers were working on Ninjutsu, she had the same expression when she truly was growing frustrated. That realization caused her to drop her arms and approach the class, her headband around her neck, where she chose to keep it, approaching the class silently as Satori finished, stepping beside him and giving him a look. Considering she originally had no intention on addressing the class, she was pretty sure she was about to surprise him.

She placed a hand on her chest. "Midori," she started with a simple enough introduction and gained the children's attention, and giving her a moment to find the right words in her mind to say. "Cannot use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu barely at all. Still a Ninja. How?" she asked, but this time it was a hypothetical question as she reached down and dug her fingers into a solid stone, cracking it and then slowly ripping it from the ground. It was about the size of a beach ball, but considering it was a large hunk of rock, already some of the class was in awe of her physical strength. "I never give up. Focused on Taijutsu. Trained. Overcome weaknesses with strengths. Never stop learning."

With a flick of the wrist, the rock was airborne, and her other arm flashed outwards, striking the rock and shattering it into pieces, sending debris and smaller stones outwards like projectiles in a safe direction away from class. Turning back to them, she locked eyes with the group of people who had looked down when Ninjutsu had been mentioned earlier. "If I can, you can. You only lose when you give up." or die She left that last part as a mental note, not wanting to scare anyone, and judging from the expression on the teacher's face and the sparkle in the kids eyes, they were happy that she had interjected. Moving back a little ways, she looked towards Satori and nodded, stating that she was ready for the next set of instructions.

Satori remained polite and patient as Midori explained herself, and her own limitations--and strength. His hands clasped behind his back until she finished and faced him, and when she did she found herself looking at the widest grin he'd ever given her.  The class was a Taijutsu class. It stood to reason that some of them were specialists in it, and would be uncertain with the flow of conversation. Satori had purposely angled the conversation to rile her up; not anger, but enough to make her engage.

His expression practically screamed 'Not so bad, now was it?' in regards to the social communication. But it disappeared quickly enough as he clapped his hands together and released a breath.

"Right. First, there's something specific that needs to be explained. Taijutsu is the art of basic chakra channeling into ones body to amplify physical abilities. Unlike the other forms of ninja combat, it has no weaknesses nor strength, nor specializations. If it's part of the body, Taijutsu can amplify it," as he explained this he would glance toward Midori and smile softly.

"As explained, this style grants the user tremendous raw physical power. The first step is the stance," as he stated this, his body lowered. His left hand forming into a tight fist at waist level, his elbow bent. The other lifting in an open palm with the elbow slightly bent, aiming forward toward Midori. He waited for her to mimic him so the next steps could begin from there.

Turning towards Satori and seeing that grin on his face... that knowing smile that she had once again walked into his plans ever so perfectly; it took a lot of control not to try to punch him in the face, students watching and all.  She hated that; him manipulating her into doing something that he wanted her to, like she was a damn puppet playing on his strings in a way that suited him ever so perfectly.  She knew he did it on purpose to, as lessons, but that didn't mean it didn't rub her the wrong way every single freaking time he did it, but considering that, she hid it well.  He would be able to pick up on the subtle little things that indicated her anger; the way she glared at him being first and foremost, but everyone else would be clueless.

Regardless, she noted his stance, and realized how very similar it was to her default stance, which was both good and bad.  Good in the way that she would be relatively comfortable right off the get go, but bad because she would have to retrain herself to make sure that she didn't interchange them on accident.  Nothing a couple days of harsh training couldn't fix, but still, the ends had better justify the means.  Settling into the stance, she glanced at her own self and then back to Satori a few times, correcting small deficiencies that she noted here and there until her own stance was perfect.  Once there, she settled in, waiting for what was next.

Once Midori had settled into her stance, Satori grinned softly before he began the explanation of what was next.

"Focus your chakra through your limbs, specifically around the biceps and forearms. The chakra is there to support your limbs and amplify your raw striking power. It's basic chakra control and nothing more, the only trick is learning to use it while fighting, and that takes a bit of getting used too. Especially if you're just starting out." With this, Satori stepped forward and released a slow breath.

"The palm is used for counters and defenses to set up grapples and shut down mobility, the weakness of this style. The fist is used for high speed and force blows to finish the fight quickly." With this information down, he smiled softly at Midori and used the open palm to motion her toward him. Only practice would help her at this point, after all.

Midori listened carefully about how the stance was used, and was once again reminded at how strongly this resembled her own fighting style that she used as a default, even in what each hand was used for. Seeing him motion for her to come at him, she thought about it for a moment and focused, thinking about only the yellow chakra, not the green; that would allow her to maintain her full mindset while still amplifying her strength in the arms, like she had been instructed. Keeping a clear mind would be extremely important for this as she was learning something new and putting practical application to her training.

She dashed forward, but the first thing Satori would notice is that she was not using her full speed; it would be a complete waste if the kids weren't able to track their movements after all, and she wanted them to be able to learn something from the interaction or it would be a waste of her time. Midori also knew that he would pick up on this immediately and probably match her speed perfectly, so it was still good training on form and the ability to use chakra properly in combat, as the strength portion of it was not missing in the slightest. She moved in mirror to his own, sliding forward and testing her strength with her empowered limbs in a blatant strike towards his chest, one that he was in perfect position to catch with his other hand.

She was assuming he was empowering his own arms as well, so as soon as he stopped her outright, she would withdraw the fist to ensure that she didn't get caught easily, preparing herself for whatever counterattack that he was likely already cooking up to show the kids whatever came next.

Satori grinned as she put her speed on a level that was fast, but followable to the students. Stepping forward at the last moment as she neared him so that his hand absorbed the impact. The kinetic force flowing through his limb and causing the elbow to bend slightly before she began to move backward. As she did so his own fist followed her movements perfectly, aiming to crack directly into her center of body mass.

There was a point to this, first, it would be a slow introduction and allow her to properly understand how to give and take chakra for defense and offense. But the second was so that she could get used to the 'standard' of the style. One hand for defense, one for offense. He wouldn't mix it up until she had a solid grip on both that and the idea of chakra control and balance.

The last thing he needed to do was have her try too much at once and end up blowing out one of her arms. As much as he enjoyed performing medical techniques, it wasn't something he was keen on doing. Especially in front of a class of Academy Students still learning the ropes. It'd be quite the trial by fire for them emotionally.

At this speed, she didn't even need to rely completely on her reflexes to handle incoming blows, she could literally see it coming and think about which way would work best to counter the blow, and this time it was a deflection. Using the open hand, she swatted his wrist, sending the fist to the side and creating a slight opening, which her own fist would then strike towards, aiming for his shoulder. A successful blow here would dislocate the arm, but she would hold back the force to ensure that they didn't need to take a break already, and perhaps stop if he didn't back away or counter another way.

This was a very interesting way to learn however, as the speed decrease made her more aware of her own form, the chakra she could feel flowing through her limbs, and projecting that power outwards, but the amount of control it took not to use that enhanced power in her arms to enhance her speed of the blows, that was turning out to be quite the exercise in muscle and chakra control. She was going to benefit from this quite a bit, from the looks of things, and was glad Satori had roped her into it now. Granted, that wasn't enough to save him from going with her shopping later, but it was enough that she wasn't angry with him about making her into a public freaking spectacle. Plus, the kids were already in awe at the two, even the teacher seemed to have rapt attention to their little slow-speed spar.

Satori grinned as she began to enjoy the spar, and it was clear. She was realizing the slow speed she'd set was perfect for her current level of control and learning how to properly manipulate it into her favor. The sudden jab at his shoulder after her deflection was met with a shift in his arm that had been extended to strike. Instead bending at the elbow so that her fist collided with it instead.

Of course, she could always pull back at the last second to avoid the counter.

Either way, Satori purposely paused so that the students would realize what he'd done, and make the connection that the style was not limited to palm strikes and punches. That brief moment would allow Midori to recover from punching a bone directly, or her strike being pulled at the last moment. Then Satori stepped forward and sent out a jab with his fist, his palm remaining level with his waist as it prepared to defend against any incoming counters once more.

The little back and forth was doing exactly what he'd hoped it would do.

Instead of striking his elbow, which would have done more damage to her than to him considering how much stronger that part of the bone was, she instead opened her fist and used it to push him instead of strike him. It gave her a bit of distance and allowed her to realize how much stronger her limb was in comparison; she had felt like if she had wanted to, she could have applied some force and sent him like a skipping stone across the arena. Midori was starting to appreciate the strengths that this was going to apply to real combat, and she would be training this way a lot more in the coming days and months.

His incoming jab would be blocked by her hand dedicated to defense, and the combination of her pushoff and the block created some distance and allowed her to try something out for a moment; she shifted the stance ever so slightly, switching which hand was on defense and offense, and then back again, seeing how it felt. It could be done, and considering the way that she wouldn't always be facing an opponent that was dominant on the same hand as she was, she needed to know if it was viable. Darting forward again, she switched mid-lunge, and then went to strike towards his chest, while the other hand opened and prepared for defensive actions. She didn't know if this was the right way to do it, but wanted to try it out anyway.

Midori was evolving quite quickly, and Satori could appreciate that tremendously. Grinning as she dashed right for him after their clash and push-off, he would relax his body before she suddenly hurled her fist at his center of mass. Specifically his torso, so instead of simply using his open palm, Satori began to show he used Arkhat. The fist was met with a knee suddenly rising, the young man's superior flexibility coming into play as the force collided with his limb cleanly.

Rising Knee.

"As you grow better at it," Satori's eyes narrowed, and the chakra within his knee would suddenly burst. The force doubling to send Midori skidding backward after the short clash while Satori slowly lowered his leg.

"You can transfer the chakra into any part of your body. Knee's and elbows are favorable due to the fact they naturally release more destructive force anyway," as he explained his he idly shifted his head to the side and grinned. This was working out even better than he'd expected. Now what was next for her ideas, he wondered?

Midori barely had time to turn her fist into a hand before the knee impacted it, sending her skidding backwards from the force of the combination. It was a powerful blow, and had she held her fist, it might have broken her hand as there wouldn't be as much flexibility and give as an open hand would. With the distance created, she noted his form as he slowly lowered his knee, thinking about what he was saying to the class and how she might best apply it; sure, using knees and elbows was a surefire way to put out a lot of power and destructive force, but it came at the cost of range.

But that wasn't a big deal when you were countering someone else's blow; they were extending themselves into your space, and that allowed you, as long as you were accurate, to simultaneously block and deal damage to that extended part of the body. While Midori wasn't as smart as Satori, she was a natural when it came to fighting, and was able to rapidly put things together and their intent behind most martial arts forms. She dashed back forward, feigning like she was going to strike out with her fist towards his chest before quickly shifting lower, bending her arm, and aiming a powerful elbow towards his gut. She just wanted to see if this would work, because if she was amplifying things properly with her Chakra, even if Satori blocked, this would send him backwards a ways.

Satori grinned as she put the information together and went right for it immediately. As he'd wanted her too because now came the obvious flaw with this style. As she dashed at him and threw a fient, his eyes narrowed as he suddenly... took one step back, right as the strike turned to an elbow.

It touched air, though the force of the blow was clear as the air around them stirred from it while Satori fell back, dodging the blow before immediately stepping back in the moment the initial momentum from her strike had dispersed. His knee lifting to suddenly crash into that same extended arm.

However she decided to block, or dodge, Satori would tilt his head and smile. Addressing the class as he spoke with Midori.

"That said, no matter how many benefits a style may grant you, no technique is without its weaknesses. Even if a style may amplify power--you may wish to use your speed while using it. Mixing and matching styles together can become an incredibly potent weapon. The same can be said for mixing the offensive and defensive techniques of different styles, with different stances." A simple reminder that just because the style was power, it didn't mean she had to be as well.

Him dodging backwards should have been expected, but because she was focusing so much on the style, she was losing the basic fundamentals of hand to hand combat, and was taken a bit off guard as he simply stepped back to dodge. As his knee came crashing upwards though, she turned her arm and drove her elbow down to match, the empowered combination of the two limbs crashing together something that made a loud crack; there wasn't any significant damage, and Midori performed a tiny leap backwards to give herself some space and allow Satori to address the class. Of course mixing it with more techniques would be important... the larger your arsenal, the more adaptable you became. And in the world of Ninja, that would often be the difference between life and death.

Midori thought about how best to apply this stance to what she already knew, and waited for Satori to be ready for her to come at him again. Once he was set, she dashed forward, staying at range for the moment and pressuring him with some strikes aimed towards his face, setting him up in a way that, to the kids would be unknown, but for Satori, he would see what she was doing. Hopefully, for demonstration purposes, he would play along with her for a moment, because as he dodge one particular strike that required him to avert his gaze, she would dash upwards.

Rising Knee

Straight towards his jaw. Granted, he was more than able to bend backwards and dodge it, considering their speed was reduced still, but it would be a great show of what he meant to mix the styles for the kids.

Midori was molding right into the concepts. As soon as he addressed them, she responded and adapted. She really was an absolute natural when it came to these things. Grinning he lifted his hands up as she came charging at him once more, delivering a series of feints that Satori's feline eyes easily saw through. But that wasn't the point of this.

They'd already shown that Satori was "stronger". There was no reason he needed to "win" here. The purpose of this was to teach, both herself and the children. The knee steadily approached his chin at high speeds, before Midori would find her knee just barely missing as Satori flipped backward once and landed. Skidding backward as he remained in the Arkhat stance with a wide grin at her copying the technique from his movements.

Well done, Midori.

Proud of her, he straightened slightly as he glanced toward the class. They'd noticed it too, the fact that she had suddenly adapted, built in feints, and then mimicked his motions. Atop that, she'd shown the difference in styles blending together, forcing him on the backpedal to create distance.

Pleased, Satori focused on Midori and remained where he was. Patient as ever.

Midori was going to apply what she had learned a little more, but she also needed to guide this to where the class would be able to better see things too. Time to mix things up even further... and she dashed towards him. Thus far, she had only shown the basic style she had always used, but she had been training another part of it that she enjoyed, and if they were mixing styles, now was the time to show it off a little bit. She started to strike at him, as per normal, and waited a moment while he was dodging to strike at a spot that would cause him to block.

Mid-strike, her fist curled into an open hand, and she grabbed his hand, using what would have been a defensive hand suddenly to offensive, and keeping him from getting away. Using her strength, she pivoted low and tossed him outright, throwing him into the air to where he would land in front of the class. "Center Stage." she reminded him before dashing forward again, back into the Arkhat stance and allowing him to take their attention with whatever was next, giving him easily predictable strikes using the style he was teaching.

Satori couldn't be more proud of her, really. As she grasped him and hurled him in a judo throw that caused him to skid along the ground, a grin split his lips. It wasn't as though the action had been particularly breathtaking or anything, but it was proof that she was able to rapidly think on her toes and progress through the training. She could evolve, and do so rapidly.

That action had been proof of such. Grinning as she commented on 'center stage' as he slowly straightened from his crouched position before they re-engaged. This time, Satori's gaze hardened just slightly as chakra flushed through his system. His body spun before her attack would find only air suddenly. Satori's body jerking rapidly to the side before closing in on her as his speed increased in a burst of movement.

The chakra propelling him forward, as his shoulder suddenly smashed forward aiming to ram directly into her guard and blast through it into her torso. She'd tossed him, it was only right he return the favor and give her a toss of his own.

Shoulder Charge.

He straightened and she could tell from the look in his eyes he was pleased with how things were progressing thus far, but she wasn't done with him yet.  She knew he was going to be showing her something different soon, so as he slid out from a strike and rolled around to her side, lowering a shoulder and charging her with a speed she realized quickly was a pace beyond the speed they had been using.  Now, typically, if she hadn't known Satori, she would be calling shenanigans, but she did know him, and knew that this must have been a part of a technique, not something improvised, and also knew this was not a technique that you blocked or deflected.

It was something to dodge.

And she did, but unlike most people who would have gone to the sides or even those flashy bastards that would have vaulted over him, she used his larger size to her advantage and slid under him, between his legs, and out the other side, her eyes wide with excitement and a very familiar grin beginning to form on her lips.  This was what happened when she got into a good fight, when she was learning, and when she was happy.  She lunged forward for a moment to raise his guard, shifted her weight low, and tried to use the same move he just used to take out his legs entirely.  Sure, this could be dodged easily enough but she wanted to see with the speed boost if it would be enough to take him off guard and could be implemented at different heights.

As Midori suddenly ducked down to barely avoid the burst of speed and power from the charge, Satori grinned. That'a girl. As soon as she spun Satori's body was already twitching as he relaxed his body. He could feasibly avoid her charge, but why bother when he had other options? Her shoulder collided with the backs of his knee's causing them to buckle. But due to how relaxed his body as he was falling backward instead of toppling over.

Her shoulder was pinned against his knee now, and as he fell back his hands suddenly grabbed her around the waist. Using her as an anchor to flip his body over her before serious damage broke through his loose defense. Vaulting over her from a handstand and landing behind her--before instantly flashing at her again. His shoulder lower to ram into the center of her back as he lowered the angle.

The children were barely keeping up, but thankfully the technique only enhanced the speed of the charge, as such they were able to make out the basics of what was going on. Wide-eyed at the showing of the two Genin.

Damnit if she didn't think she had actually managed to surprise him. She felt her shoulder make contact, a successful Shoulder Charge she would wager, and her sudden movement should have been enough to get a clean hit using the skill. She had every intent on following up, flipping him over her shoulder and letting him land on his feet and then assessing what came next. But when she felt him literally give way to the impact, the force and pushback no where near what it needed to be... she knew she had fallen for yet another of his damn traps.

He contorted like a gymnast again, using her own body, and placing his HANDS ON HER HIPS?! Now, the logical side of her mind knew why he had done it, that it had meant nothing in the terms as to why her rage came to the fore with all the force of a tidal wave. Normally, she would have brushed it off as such without a second thought. But just that morning, she had been examining her figure, and her overly large hips and bust were becoming a major problem for her lately... and he just happened to push that button. As that anger coursed through her, she felt the impact on her back, and she landed on all fours, recovering and getting back to her feet without any conscious thought on her part, facing him.

But her face was red, and her teeth were bared.

She was angry about the fact he'd used her hips as a launchpad of all things. Probably still worrying over her figure, when it didn't matter in the end anyway. He stared at her blandly as she spun on him, red-faced and teeth-gritting, and tilted his head once to the side before he turned to the class.

"Emotionally unstable opponents are also easy to deal with as long as you remain calm. Emotion can grant power but it also makes you predictable and lose quite a bit of focus to see through the tells of your opponent. For instance," Satori turned toward Midori and casually made the 'come at me' motion with his hand. "I'm confident that now that she's upset, I could beat her with one hand, and no techniques," he stated as he stared her in the eye. Offering her a single moment to gather herself again.

She got no apology, nor smile, only the same look on Satori's face as ever. If anything he was moderately disappointed she'd let something so petty get her riled up in a fight. One's appearance meant nothing, and she knew that. Teenage hormones truly were an annoyance.

She knew it wasn't a big deal, but damnit if it wasn't one of the most annoying things that she dealt with lately. Sure, logic could beat it into the mud, but in the heat of the moment, she knew she was susceptible to getting angry; and while it was certainly true it made some foes easier to deal with, it wasn't the same for her. She couldn't let her anger take control for a completely different reason, and knew that controlling that one emotion in particular was something that she had consider time working to control at will. She stood up straight, shaking her head 'no' at him, and her eyes narrowed as her lips pulled back over her teeth and her blushing faded a shade.

Calming Steps
