Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Bzzzzzzzzzz_by_na_nedam_dcb50ll-pre~~~~~VS~~~~~Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha 109-94

Alright, you guys know the rules. Play nice.

First poster is Rin Uchiha. (This was decided by Google's random number generator).

You begin standing on opposite sides of the arena. 50 meters behind you is the arena circular wall.
100 meters are between you and the very center of the circular arena.
And 200 meters separate the two competitors.

    Remember the arena description!
Akihiro wrote:The Four Champion's Arena was built for the specific purpose of hosting the 1st Shinobi World Tournament, where competitors will fight each other to be crowned to the best shinobi in the world. It is a circular arena, the fighting stage is a a 300 meters diameter circle composed of sand, dirt, sweat and the pride of defeated opponents.  The spectators' area is composed of three levels, each one higher than the one below it. It has a capacity for tens of thousands of people. Very complex Fuuinjutsu has been applied to protect the spectator's area, with three invisible barriers of X-rank strength preventing jutsus and other attacks from harming the audience and allowing the fighters the opportunity to go all out. The barrier is circular, placed on the limits of the arena and rises up to 10,000 meters above it. Because this barrier is extremely expensive and taxing (requiring several shinobi to maintain) it is only active during the duration of the event.

Scare, remember you're the first poster.

    Good luck, and have fun!

The fact that Rin was even accepted into this tournament designed for the elites came as a surprise to him before. Alas Rin accepted it as a compliment as he stood in the coliseum with the very ground being composed of sand and dirt. It was such a large space too, and there was a large audience surrounding them. Not surprising as this is the very first shinobi tournament ever being done in history. Rin’s opponent, from what he gathered, was Nozomi Himitsu. A name that was unknown to him, but Rin kept it in mind regardless.

Rin stood at 5’7” with a mesomorph build and has the physique to add density to his form. Donned with a short sleeved grey shirt under a leather vest worn over his torso. The pair of steel arm guards engraved with fuuinjutsu seals covering his forearms to just above his wrists. On the outside of the right arm guard is a launching mechanism that is loaded with a single kunai. Rin’s leather belt wrapped around the waist carries the single katana on the left side with a wakizashi at his left flank. A hip pouch can be seen on the right side on his belt. On his legs is a pair of dark pants that has a holster strapped around each thigh that each holster contains a sole kunai. The ends of his pants is tucked under a pair of leather shin guards so there’s not much to make a noise aside from his dark sandals.

His hazel blue-green eyes looking out in the distance towards his opponent, and despite the distance they were at Rin’s eyesight was ever sharp to detail. Rin’s warm black hair pulled back into a short low tail to keep it out of his vision. There were a couple of ways that Rin could approach this battle, but for now Rin stuck to drawing the bare iron katana out of its wooden scabbard before immediately sprinting towards his opponent. It was a long distance, and technically Rin could perform jutsu to get to the center faster. However Rin doesn’t know if this one is a sensor, and he’s seeing if his opponent is going to hang back or to advance to meet him. Either way would tell Rin if she is going to be more on the close quarters combat or perhaps go for ranged in hopes to snipe him from afar. In short, Rin is dashing towards the center.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Sat Dec 01, 2018 12:19 am

It felt strange, to be so out in the open after having declared herself a missing nin of Kirigakure, allying herself with Honiko. 2 years of seclusion and isolation, no real contact with the great nations. And yet, here she was, her name openly available for all who knew it. Honiko had apparently convinced the Raikage to come to an understanding of sorts. Nobody would arrest them as long as they made no trouble during the exams.

But Nozomi wasn't here to make trouble, she was here to prove herself and show her skills. In a way, it benefited the nations to see the abilities and prowess of their enemies, such was the nature of the exams. It showcased the world's finest shinobi, and the inclusion of a high tier combat tourney was just the same in her eyes. A showcase of power so everyone understood what sort of shinobi they trained.

Her first opponent was not someone she knew of, nor was he someone she was particularly interested in fighting. She wanted to test Ryuko out in a fight, something she never really had the chance to do. Barring that, she wanted to fight Yomi more than anything. This was the perfect venue for that, and she hoped it would come to it, but first, she had to deal with the fights she was given.

Perhaps it was arrogance that held her back. Nozomi thought highly of her skills, and with that she didn't feel like giving her all just yet. She wanted to toy with her prey a little. See what he could do, but not give her all. His gear was that of a weapon user, so he seemed to favor close quarters.

Luckily for her, she was a master of close quarters combat, it was her area of expertise. Weapons meant little to her, she knew how to fight around them. Besides, she had her own tanto, sheathed in the baldric behind her left shoulder, so she pulled the blade out as he unsheathed his katana.

Their gear was fairly similar in layout. She had several pouches on her belt and person that held her various ninja tools, although she rarely resorted to using them anymore. Two holsters, one on either side of her hip, each held a single kunai in them. The difference was she wore no armor, just a simple black jumpsuit stylized like a kirigakure uniform without a flak jacket, and a pair of black sandals. Her headband hung near her neck, the line she had etched into it to declare herself a missing nin prominent. She would own that label.

At 5'2", the blonde girl was much shorter than her opponent, but that was to her advantage. She knew how to fight people who were taller than her. She wondered if he knew how to fight people her size or not, if he knew what to do, how far to fight from, the proper way to strike at her. She would find out soon enough without having to say a single word. The dance of combat would reveal his level of expertise.

He wasn't very fast, in comparison to her own speed. That was evident. His movements were slow to her trained eyes. He was a swordsman, his speed wasn't in his legs, and any speed techniques he did have would be to move in close and keep their distance closed. She could count on his strikes being much quicker than his running. He was quick to draw though, and charged forward.

Matching his speed, she ran forward as well, her tanto held lazily in her left hand, near weightless to her, but in a proper guard. Being ambidextrous was a decent advantage, most swordsman never faced off against a left handed fighter, whether they were right or left handed. The tricky part for her would be finding the weak points in his armor and exploiting them. As they closed the gap and met in the center, she would give him the first swing.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Tatsuya Sun Dec 02, 2018 10:15 am

The blonde drew out a tanto and in response to Rin’s advance Nozomi charged forward as well. His eyes were sharp and focused as Rin noted that his opponent was wielding the tanto with her left hand. Depending on how things go Rin may have to get extra creative. The main problem that everyone he’s faced thus far had always underestimated him and in the past that was a fair assessment since he was just a genin who was more perceptive than anything else. This tournament will be proof on how far he’s grown since that day at the temple, of how it looked like hell with senju trees blazing wildly and roaring with seething hatred.

Rin's hazel blue-green eyes narrowed slightly after seeing no indication of an attack. Either she was that confident or she was waiting. Playing the patient game. Tilting his sword with a flourish as the dazzling flash of the sun's brilliant light directly at Nozomi's eyes once they were at 5 meters apart. This was to temporarily blind and/or distract Nozomi by creating a mirage of pure bright light that was found on Rin's katana. It appeared like it was going to slash at her horizontally when in reality it was just his flourish before stabbing his sword into the sand and briefly balanced himself on the katana once he was within range. Then carrying his momentum, the technique itself, and most of all his sword style Rin will attempt to slam a powerful kick aimed at Nozomi's neck due to the height difference.

Upon impact this attack carries a strong knockback that would surely stop Nozomi from moving forward and even get push back by at least a meter or two. His swift movement as Rin will continue forward to land on his feet kicking up the loose sand around him while shifting his left hand to grab onto his katana and frees the blade. Only to perform a diagonal upper slash from Nozomi's left abdomen to her right shoulder. Alternatively this slash can also be used to simply deflect Nozomi's tanto should she attempt to strike back at him as he'll simply block it whether a thrust or slash with just his katana. A thrust will be blocked by the flat of his blade, a slash will simply be batted away from him. Either way this would cause a small arc of sand to rise up along the tip of his blade as it potentially smacks Nozomi on the face.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Wed Dec 05, 2018 5:14 am

Nozomi shifted into her usual Spring Chant stance as she got closer to the boy, halting her charge. He held his blade up, reflecting the light of the sun into her eyes, causing her to shield them for a second using her right hand. The glare colored her vision for a moment, but she could still see plenty, and even better, she had her other senses unimpaired. It looked to her like he was the type of fighter that fought a little dirty. There was nothing wrong with that, Nozomi would use anything at her disposal to win if she had to. She could understand the motivation to play dirty.

As he shoved his blade into the ground, mounting the hilt, Nozomi was interested in his tactics more and more. It was an odd attack for sure, but it did cost some time and telegraph a little bit. Still, there was something to it, stuttering his movement could work against some people, and the speed at which he launched an attack made up for the loss in time. Still, it was a better move against someone less perceptive, less able to keep up with his movements.

She knew the size of his body, and was fast at reading body distances. While she still had the glare in her eyes, it wasn't too big of a deal, she could still calculate the distance between them while close range. She could hear his launch of the kick, feel the air part around him a little, imperceptible to plenty. She could smell him approaching a little, her sense of smell honed like that of a dogs. Honiko had been thorough with her training, and Nozomi had kept up with it. She'd fought blind, and learned to use the combination of her other senses to assist her. Even with a small impairment of her vision, the other senses made up for it, and it was like she wasn't blind, as she still could use her eyes as well.

His launch was fast, but only for the kick itself, which she had time enough to predict the path of. Tilting her head and leaning her body in the same direction as the kick, Nozomi was able to skirt under it, a decent amount of power behind it she could feel. Her left hand was already moving, a blast of petals helping to accelerate the counter strike she gave, attempting to slash the back of Rin's knee, to hinder his movement and get some bleed damage on him. The back of the knee was a weak area, and also quite sensitive.

Not only was her dodge graceful, her counter was faster than most could even comprehend. His attack alone was dangerously fast, she would give him that much, most people watching this would have probably had to pay close attention to even see his movement, let alone the fast paced and quick strike she gave. He may not have noticed himself, she'd ghosted her arm a little beneath his leg, using the odd positioning of the Moonlight technique to take advantage of any lack of vision he may experience, so it just depends. Even if he did see it, he probably couldn't do much about it, she was pushing the boundary of what was possible speed wise.

That said, whether it failed or succeeded, Nozomi would lurch forward while he was still finishing the curve of his kick, sword still planted in the ground, using the fact that he was still attached to the sword and now in the air to her own advantage. She was a very reactionary fighter, and while she still had the surprise of her speed working for her, she needed to press it. When she had dodged the kick, Nozomi had already begun pumping her arm up with Raiton chakra, and as she rose up, she ejected more petals from her hand to increase the speed and power behind the strike as well.

As the punch was sent to his torso, if it connected she would send him flying backwards, with or without the sword still in his hand, with a powerful punch as well as some electrocution. The attack, just as fast as her initial counter attack was, was perhaps only mere moments behind, and definitely had more oomph behind it. If she landed the second attack, she would wait to see if he got up and was ready for more, or if she had won it outright, but one thing was for certain. Nozomi was not here to play around, and she had the power and speed to back it up. All things considered, she didn't want to use too many techniques or show off too much this early in the tournament. She knew her opponent was skilled, she could already see that, and she didn't want to spend too much time here, as that increased his chances of winning.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Tatsuya Thu Dec 06, 2018 11:55 pm

A counter was formed as Nozomi nimbly evades the kick and though blurry Nozomi with Rin’s eyes focused on her. She was remarkably fast that was not to be mistaken and she was just as perceptive to function even with a hindering glare in her eyes. A counter attack was surely to expect as he played the same scenario if he was the opposite end of this technique. Going low was one of the strong evasions that Rin knows of, and normally the opponent could leap over it if they moved quick enough. However Rin’s attack was swift and accurate with power behind it so under normal circumstances it should’ve connected.

Alas thus was not the case, as Rin hardened his body as the muscles become dense as the petals began to cut into the cloth of his pants. Nozomi would find that her petals barely makes a mark on his skin. Like the very skin was steel. The way she was positioned gave her the advantage as sparks of live raiton course around one of her arms before petals emerge from her formed fist. He didn’t need to sense that this was going to hurt a little as Nozomi moved to hurl a powerful blow which connects against his chest. The force slams into the leather vest as it passes through to the very skin even with his mesh shirt also soaking up the pressure. Though it didn’t hurt that much from the brunt force, the raiton left an uncomfortable jolt around his chest. Otherwise it wasn’t life-threatening.

Rin was thrown back to the side for only 5 meters as he opted to let go of his sword, though surprisingly with a flipping twist Rin formed a single tiger seal as if he was going to unleash a katon technique during the flip. Instead two shadow clones emerge into existence next to him before Rin grabbed both of his clones, harnessing the power of Arhat Fist, during the twist and hurled each of them with roughly equivalent force behind it towards Nozomi. One was thrown shortly before the first to add a gap of sorts between the sequence as the two clones spun their bodies. Then Rin landed on the sand and skid for an extra 2.5 meters marking it 7.5 meters from Nozomi. He wasted no time as he was sliding to reach for the wakizashi with his left hand while Rin’s right hand slipped into his pouch to grab three shuriken and a smoke bomb wrapped around by the thumb.

One had an extended leg that was going for Nozomi’s face. However this was more of a distraction as the first instinct for anyone is to react towards something going for the face. The second that more or less shadowed behind and below the first clone flipped his body with his legs curled to hook around Nozomi’s neck if she crouched low to avoid the first clone. Or if Nozomi opted to step back or sidestep the second clone will slam his mighty palm on the ground that no doubt will kick up a sand cloud that’s relatively small as the second clone utilizes the Spring Chant to enhance itself. Launching himself higher and more so pivoting himself towards Nozomi as the force flipped his body again with his back facing towards Nozomi. Either way the second clone will wrap both curled legs around Nozomi’s neck as the rest of his body passes over her. Meanwhile if the first clone hasn’t been dispersed he’ll continue past Nozomi and the second clone to get a meter behind Nozomi.

However Rin’s clone continues with his strong momentum as he leans backward and strongly pulls Nozomi by the neck with an added twist. In short the clone yanks Nozomi from her feet by the neck and essentially throw her into the ground for a very strong frontal slam into the dense sand. Hardly a moment later the first clone would have come around to seize her left arm that held the tanto if she still holds it and twisting it as the first clone will plant a firm foot on the back of her left shoulder. The second clone simultaneously spun around in a crouching position with a kunai drawn of his holster as it would be aiming at her neck that stops literally a centimeter from touching her skin. All while the real Rin had also closed the gap with his wakizashi drawn out in his left hand. The real Rin isn’t doing anything yet, but he does now hold three shuriken between his fingers with a thumb curled inward that appears to be holding a smoke bomb.

Basically the two shadow clones worked together through a mixture of tactics and martial prowess to slam Nozomi in attempts of damaging and potentially stunning the girl before putting Nozomi at an arm lock that even movement would be difficult and even so the other clone would have a kunai at a hair’s width from puncturing her jugular vein. All while Rin waits two meters back watching and alert. If this succeeds, both of the clones will utter one word. “Surrender.”

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Tue Dec 11, 2018 11:28 am

She was too fast for him when she went all out, that much was clear. Still, she couldn't go all out for too long or she would burn out and lose, so she had to switch tactics. Perhaps if her attack had fully gone as intended, she wouldn't have cared about going all out, but her attacks seemed to do little in terms of damage to him, so she needed to switch to a new tactic.

There was a bit of surprise that her tanto hadn't cut into him as expected, but nothing too worrisome. He seemed to be able to take a bunch of damage, but there was some discomfort noticeable from the Raiton attack, which was definitely a plus. If she could hurt him, she could win. Taijutsu was her primary way to fight for sure, but ninjutsu would have to do for the moment.

Leaping backwards a few meters to create distance between them as her opponent created some clones, Nozomi took the time in between him making them and throwing them to form handseals of her own. She wasn't all that fazed by the addition of two more Rin's, it was nothing she couldn't deal with.

Stepping it up a notch, Nozomi gave him the respect he deserved, having proven that he couldn't be beat so easily by Taijutsu. "Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave" She finished her handseals just a few moments before he launched his clones, fast for sure, but they were met with a large wave of water that would blast them to nothing and continue on towards Rin, who was just now landing. He would be hard pressed to find the time to dodge, but even if he did, it wasn't too big of an issue for Nozomi. She was just setting the stage, and Suiton was easy to create for the girl.

The technique she used was a massive torrent of water aimed at the ground, which raised her up a bit, but also sent out waves to the surrounding areas, as the force had nowhere but out to go. The waves had a large amount of force behind them as well, but that wasn't even what made the technique a powerful one. The amount of water created was enough to partially fill the arena like a pool of water. The barriers of the arena were quite sturdy, and the waves smashed against them, billowing up into the air to come crashing back as if in a large bowl.

The attack was hard enough to dodge on its own, but made even harder so because the barrier made it impossible to run out if the range of the attack. Getting hit by it meant getting smashed into the side of the arena. And even after that, the water was now a source for Nozomi to draw upon for her jutsu.

As the water settled, Nozomi would stand atop it, her hands behind her back to observe the damage and change of scenery. She had dropped the tanto in the process of making her handseals, but the time to use it was over for her. She didn't need it for the rest of the match more than likely.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Tatsuya Thu Dec 13, 2018 4:58 pm

It goes accordingly as what Nozomi would assume it does. The large wave of water spewing from Nozomi’s body crushes the two shadow clones. At first the clones gasped only to find water filling up their lungs causing them to disperse. When the wave came to slam on Rin who had just landed on his feet. As a last ditch defensive effort Rin hardened the muscles throughout his body seeing as how there was no method of avoiding it.

The sounds of rushing water deafened his hearing as it slams against Rin. Sweeping him off his feet and colliding against the dense sand. The force as Rin had registered was strong that even he struggled to keep his breath. With a powerful slam on Rin's back to the sand it would no doubt leave a bruise as he definitely felt that. But because of his enhanced durability the pain itself was minor than what it could've been.

Still he remained vigilant as Rin concentrated the layers of chakra onto his hands and the bottom of his feet. Resisting the pushing current as Rin attempts to climb his way up to the surface. From the surface Rin will try to emerge at least his face to catch his breath before seeking to fully climb his way out. Finding himself roughly 145 meters away from Nozomi, Rin had to think fast because he didn't have a lot of time. Moving forward as swift as he could with accuracy to match Rin will string a short series of handseals. “Wind Release: Great Breakthrough” Once done, Rin having built up the molded fuuton chakra into his core, the Uchiha will release a powerful concentrated gust of wind that will attempt to slam onto Nozomi's person. Due to the wind nature this technique will attempt to literally sweep Nozomi from her feet as the fuuton chakra will also make an effort to cut onto her body.

Despite the long range it held the technique was really to keep her occupied. Then again with how Nozomi has been operating it would not surprise him in the least if she managed to dodge it. As Rin had shifted his movement into a serpentine pattern he would make an effort to try to be within a hundred meters from Nozomi. As that is where he could do a bit more since long range was never his forte.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Sat Dec 15, 2018 6:34 pm

Nozomi's massive water jutsu was surprisingly effective in an arena where there was nowhere to backtrack. With her opponent in the air, and both hands occupied, there was precious little he could do but get swept away by the massive wave of water, buffeted and ragdolled for a couple of seconds. She watched him resurface, catching his breath, and she had to admit that he had some guts to continue trying to fight against what they both knew as inevitable.

He couldn't be feeling too good, at this point having already been hit by a powerful strike from Nozomi, enhanced even further with a Raiton jutsu, and now the pummeling from a wave of water. He must have had some durability to withstand that and still come up ready to fight, but she was putting in the work to take him down as well, so at the very least, she had that going for her. Generally her fighting style was one of whittling down an opponent over time, rather than using a single grandiose attack, but she could do that if she wanted to.

As her hands were behind her back at the time of Rin's resurfacing, she watched him stand back up, and begin to form some hand seals. She formed one of her own, the half tiger in preparation for a body flicker, although he wouldn't be able to see her doing anything at all in response. As he released his jutsu, Nozomi would appear to be a blur of movement, travelling at a massive speed, easily out pacing the wind jutsu, leaving behind a spray of water as she moved. She travelled diagonally forward, moving towards him, but to the side, not running directly at the jutsu, as that would be incredibly stupid. Forming new hand seals as she did so, Nozomi would have crossed half the distance to him, just at a different point on their axis.

She was moving at a speed of 175 m/s, crossing the distance in less than half a second, already forming a single handseal as she stopped, a spray of water as she came to a sudden stop moving towards the audience, and momentarily obscuring her as well before falling back, rejoining the rest of the pool. When she was no longer obscured by this wave and spray of water, Rin would find that Nozomi had multiplied to 3 separate Nozomi's. In reality, there were 4, but in the instant it took for her water clones to form, Nozomi had slid one into the water, merging with it and becoming invisible to the naked eye.

2 of the clones formed similar hand seals, while Nozomi was prepared for a defensive jutsu if she needed to use it. They all moved as a unit, slipping about 20 meters to the left from the invisible clone, who was moving towards Rin at a C rank speed, which was all she could really muster without breaking the illusion of her jutsu. They would keep up the appearance that she wasn't there, as well as draw any return fire, while staying within 25 meters of Nozomi. But Rin would have other things to worry about. Monkey, Bird, Yang Water, Rat, Boar, Bird, Nozomi's two clone's hands shifted through the signs for the Water Dragon Bullet jutsu, a smirk on her faces. She'd met Rin when she had arrived in the village, and he seemed interested in dragons, so she'd give him a couple to deal with.

As they formed the last seal, Rin would have begun to serpentine his movements, trying to keep within 100 meters of her. Luckily, she'd closed quite a gap herself earlier, so he was probably about 60 meters away from her, which worked out quite well for the Suiton user. It was just the same to her. Next to her clones, the water churned, and from either side of the group rose two massive dragons made of water, sailing up into the sky. They'd move up and over Rin, seeking to circle around behind him from the sides, to force him towards Nozomi's direction, one slamming into the water where he had been standing, the other staggered behind a few moments, assumedly to try and catch him if he managed to dodge.

Meanwhile, Nozomi and her group of clones advanced towards Rin, in almost a pincer movement, the dragons having added a third and forth area, to surround and overwhelm him. Only one way looked clear of enemies, but that's where Nozomi's 4th clone was hiding in wait. Nozomi reached into a pouch, pulling out 3 pills and popping them into her mouth, to help restore some of her chakra, although she would stop reaching towards the pouch if she needed to, to defend herself.

The hidden clone would have been waiting the entire time for the two dragons to bear down on Rin, and timing it so that Rin would be focused on the dragons, materialized underwater, forming a few handseals of her own. Hers would be the seals for Heaven's Water Convergence, which allowed her complete control over water, but she'd make it simply wrap up Rin's legs to keep him rooted to the water, as if he was captured by the water whip technique.

If everything went according to plan, the first dragon would smash into Rin, collapsing into nothing as it did so, and the second would follow up with it's own smash, although would be maintained, and take him slightly up and then back down, to collide with the surface of the water. In that event, Nozomi's 3 clones would return to the water they were made up of, and she'd wait to see the aftermath.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Tatsuya Sun Dec 16, 2018 3:49 am

Well least to say Rin’s initial attempt of occupying Nozomi even for a moment sort of worked. Blurry outlines were formed as it seemed like Nozomi flew at high speeds over the water surface. Rin corrects that as he activates the sensory fields that expands outward to cover 125 meters. Allowing Rin to detect Nozomi’s chakra signature for the first time. However, another reason is because some strange factor comes into play as the senses heighten and in turn Rin was no longer chasing after Nozomi’s shadow. Focusing his eyes on her as she went into a straight line off to his left side roughly 77.5 meters away. Rin had an idea, as he knew an accurate shot would go bad, and being in water is generally a bad thing. The closest piece of ‘land’ was the arena’s wall.

He detected that suiton chakra building up within her body, to which by now Rin shifted his trajectory temporarily skating on water creating a small spray of water as he curved over to his left. Not towards Nozomi, or at least not straight, but attempting to go around Nozomi towards the wall. No doubt she would try to redirect him or to knock him out as much as possible. In total there was four as Rin would detect the chakra laced underneath the three clones, yet it was invisible to the eye. He knows that it wasn’t a bogus for there was obvious something at work, and his sensory has never failed. At any rate this small group moved as a single unit and unlike the speed Nozomi displayed just a moment ago they moved a bit slower. What’s more is that two of the Nozomis were building up chakra, and his watchful eyes were on them as he continued to move along. After all he didn’t want to waste too much chakra, and while technically he could move to intercept Rin wasn’t too confident that he could cross that gap before the two clones finished their seals. Additionally he doesn’t know about the other one hiding over to the left is doing, and frankly he doesn’t want to find out either.

Instead he played the patient game as the two clones completed their seals. By now he is at the 48 meter mark from them as the two dragons of water emerge from the pool either side of the two clones. His hazel blue-green eyes narrow as these dragons moved a bit slow to his vision. The way the head curved as they seemed to be going after both sides of him. Rin’s eyes danced from one dragon head to the next while keeping mental notes of everyone’s location with aid of his sensory. Noting of how the clones, Nozomi, and how the two dragon heads were positioned. They really were surrounding him.

However Rin did not stop as Rin pressed onward. From the rising motion of the water to his enhanced hearing of rushing water honing on his direction, Rin went straight for the one dragon bullet that was the first to strike at him. On the initial stage Rin quickly coated his left hand with condensed fuuton chakra. While the dragon bullet had to lunge at him, all Rin had to do is a wave of his left hand and suddenly the dragon is clashing against a large blade of condensed fuuton. However it was right after Rin unleashed the technique that he suddenly felt a strong tug on his legs and judging from the cool wetness it was definitely water. Finding that the force behind it was powerful enough to withstand the onslaught, the wind slash essentially canceled the dragon out spraying a rain of water on Rin.

Briefly rooted in place, the second dragon’s head moves to strike at Rin, or so it would have been as Rin will have formed a tiger seal once he realized that he could not react to conjure a shadow clone behind him. As the second dragon bullet came down at Rin, the clone gave Rin a strong push which allows Rin to use in addition to his own strength to shake the rooted position off. It also pushed Rin forward just outside of the water dragon’s head as it slams onto the shadow clone and creates a large splash of water obscuring Rin’s presence from sight. With the clone now dispersed, all it was left was to wait for the aftermath.

From here, Rin would take this moment to reach into his hip pouch to bring out three shurikens and wrapping his thumb around a smoke bomb. Crushing the smoke bomb in his hand as fighting blind was something he can work around. Something tells Rin that Nozomi could do the same. Using the sensory as his eyes, Rin laced one of the shuriken with a string of chakra throws the three shurikens at Nozomi’s direction. One curving towards her right, and two others curving to her left. Right after he throws them, Rin forms the tiger seal targeting the one shuriken he laced with chakra. With a brief poof of smoke the small tool instantly expands into a giant shuriken, and this one moves noticeably faster than others and it does not drop in speed much like the other two shuriken would. The first to arrive is the giant shuriken as it is aimed to slice deep into Nozomi’s left shoulder moving at 85m/s. Then following behind it is the two normal shurikens.

Once the shurikens were thrown, Rin moved further over to his left side for 10 meters marking him at roughly 50 meters from the wall and 43 meters from Nozomi herself. The smoke itself covers 10 cubic meters, and it’ll mark Rin roughly at the edge of the smoke radius and is still shrouded with the smoke. The thick smoke obscures where his feet are as it clings heavily onto the water surface, but it isn’t out of the realm of possibility of hearing where he’s stepping especially underwater unless everything else is moving.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Mon Dec 17, 2018 10:02 pm

    Calling Hits:

As impressive as Rin's tenacity was, he simply was outplayed by Nozomi's utilization of tactics. She had to give him props for continuing to fight a losing battle, and with clear drive to give his best. Against a lesser opponent, perhaps he may have had a decent shot at beating her, but this battle was clearly in her favor. From the moment she flooded the arena, Nozomi was fully in control of the situation.

Unfortunately for her opponent, he got caught out by the water whips binding him to one spot. He expertly slashed through the first water dragon with but a wave of his hand, an impressive display for sure, but unfortunately, the second dragon was mere moments behind. As he formed the clone seal out of desperation, the dragon would slam full force into Rin, carrying him forward and upward as planned, the tendrils of the whips releasing him as it collided. Stunned by the force of the dragon, and his newly weakened constitution, he also suffered through the second hit as the dragon drove him back down and into the water, which may as well have been concrete for all the give it had on impact.

Nozomi's clones dispersed, returning what chakra they had left, and her pills kicked in, her chakra surging back up to nearly full capacity. With her hidden reserves still untapped, and the chakra that she could pull from Isobu if she wished, Nozomi was in a far better situation than most even knew. Beyond that, she'd barely expended much physical energy, and taken no damage to this point, so she still felt like she had at the beginning of the match.

Her opponent, on the other hand, had now taken quite a deal of damage, although given his tankiness up to this point, she couldn't be sure if he was down for the count yet or not. She had no way of knowing he'd been more susceptible to pain due to his sensory, so she kept on guard, waiting to see the after math of her only half successful attack. Still, she was impressed by his fortitude, that much was for sure. If he joined the Society, he would be an incredibly gifted asset for sure. He'd managed to take her attacks up to this point and still come back kicking, but everyone had their limit. She hoped this was his, as she really didn't want to have to escalate even further. It had already been more of an exciting match than she'd anticipated.

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Tatsuya Tue Dec 18, 2018 1:42 am

With a thunderous crash of water slamming onto Rin’s form sent a lot of pain not just to his body as it also slams into the concrete. First Rin was being swept upward before whipping around to slam him back down to the ground. Whatever breath he had left in his lungs gasped and started to fill his lungs with water. His mind experiencing an excruciating sharp pain onto the front portion of his brain as his back felt extra tender now. To be frank Rin felt the cold fingers of death trying to wrap her fingers around his neck as he struggled to breathe and struggled to think. ’Not again… Not today…’

How many times has death wrapped its arms around him and locked eyes for what felt like an eternity? Rin had lost count at this point, and before he felt like he was going to pass out Rin planted one foot on the ground before leapt from the ground to the water’s surface. His head bursting from the surface as he coughed up whatever water got in his lungs and catch a couple of deep breaths before the Uchiha a bit slow this time climbs his way to where he’s on top of the water surface yet he’s still on his knees. The sun’s reflection from the water was near blinding making it hard to see from the constant golden glare, and any sound emitted nearby sounded distant yet near deafening to his hearing. Rin started to stand up to a crouching position when he heard a tiny splat. Rin caught sight of a single dot of red that seemed to expand into the water, and it felt like he was having a runny nose. Yet when Rin reached up and touched only the tip of his nose to pull it away. His touch was now red and sure enough he was having bloody nose.

“That is going to be hell to clean up later…” Unfortunately even his own voice made him wince as it felt like his skull was trying to split in two making a left hand reach up to place against the left side of his face. Judging from how battered his body was, he probably could keep going, but with how bad this migraine he was experiencing it would be ill-advised by many to continue. Fortunately he is no idiot, and knows full well that while Nozomi has been nailing blow after blow without failure Rin hasn’t even come close. With a silent sigh, Rin stood up to his feet before giving a formal bow towards Nozomi. “Unfortunately, i’ll have to forfeit. Apologies i wasn’t of equal to your prowess.”

Now that was over with, Rin tries to shrug off the migraine by keeping one eye and avoiding the glares. Still he walked over the arena to grab his tools that he used, and if he found Nozomi’s tanto Rin would’ve handed it back to Nozomi before making for his departure from the arena. No doubt he would be hearing no end from Masuyo, but frankly he hopes that Masuyo would let off for now until the migraine settles.

    [Forfeited and Claimed Defeat]

Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha Empty Re: Nozomi Himitsu vs Rin Tohsaka Uchiha

Post by Nozomi Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:52 pm

Nozomi had been rather assured of her victory in this match from the start. There was a clear power gap between the two of them, but at the same time, he'd survived longer than she'd have thought a normal shinobi should have. He definitely had his place here in this stretch of the tournament, and against a lesser opponent may have come out the victor. It was an unfortunate match up that he was placed against her in the first round. She'd have liked to see more of what he could do.

She thought back to her appraisal of him when he'd approached Balerion. Perhaps there was more to him than she thought. If she had time to talk to him later she would. After all, he was a prospective member of the Society, a definite possibility and asset to recruit.

That being said, she bowed to him as he gave his forfeit, showing him proper respect. It wouldn't be said that Nozomi had no manners. "Well fought, Rin Uchiha." she said, offering a smile to her former opponent. He had gone around and collected their weapons, offering her back her tanto, which she gladly accepted. It had served its purpose for the match, but she doubted she would use it much going forward in the competition. Unless her opponents had weapons of their own, she didn't like to use her ninja tools. Even then, she preferred not to.

She quickly scanned the arena to see whether or not Honiko was present, but it didn't appear that she was, so she simply made her exit from the arena.

    -Exit-
