Eternal Studies: Because of his history, Ryoku can learn any level of medical jutsu. However, they cost .5 chakra more to activate and in upkeep. This goes away when he reaches the required class to have messaged those jutsu anyway.
Appearance: Ryoku is 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has Sandy brown hair, glass, and a tannish complexion. He basically like like my Avatar. He likes to wear white shirts and black pants. He wears glasses. All in all, he looks pretty average.
History: Born and raised in the Village Hidden in the Boondocks, a minor village out in Wind Country, Ryoku has lived an interesting life. The desert makes anyone tough, though it didn't seem to stick with this man. His parents raised him to respect the people around him, and good early life was, while hard, still enjoyable. His parents were poor, both of them being Gennin too weak to pass the barrier to Chuunin. They were still good folks, and raised him well.
As a child, Ryoku didn't get along well with others. He was too quiet and peaceful. When other kids wanted to play ninja, he just wanted to read a good book. This lead to him getting bullied. Eventually, he made a few good close friends, who went to the academy with him. He answered about the middle of the class, with his intelligence picking up the slack from his subpar physical skills.
During the academy, there was an incident where his best friend Miyomi Shiguri was injured badly. She had to drop out of the ninja academy because of it. Ryoku was devastated. He began to study healing arts so she could evening get better. By the end of the academy, he was an accomplished medic.
Eventually, even though he couldn't help much, good friend did get better. Miyomi, Ryoku and good other friend Inari Tsumoi graduated. As Genin, they went on a lot of adventures. Then, it was time for the Chuunin exams! They failed three times. Then, the other two passed! Ryoku went on to continue his career as a Gennin alone.
He started dating Miyomi when they were 15. When though she was stronger than him, they still looked each other, having grown up together. They saw each other between missions, him on C ranks, her on B ranks. Life was peaceful. Years passed and they got married. He was still a genin, his wife a Jounin. One day, he bought a scroll on Fuinjutsu just to see if he likes it. He did. In fact, he took it to like a scorpion in the Sand. It was his passion while medic was his job.
He joined the academy to teach so he'd have a decent wage as a Gennin while also working in the hospital. Miyomi made decent money on her A rank missions, but they wanted to start a family. Eventually, she got pregnant. They were so very excited.
She miscarried. They were devastated. They try again. Still born. They begin to fight about it. Their perfect marriage gets Rocky. He buried himself in his work to get away from his problems. Chuunin exams happen again. This time, he gets hurt bad. Physically, Ryoku is crippled. Here was poisoned badly and it destroyed a lot of his muscle mass. It also made him impotent. He could never have children now.
Defeated, he decides to retire as a ninja, at only 20 years old. The last few years of his life were too much of an emotional rollercoaster. Miyomi still supports him in his depression. He behind to hire her as a body guard for himself to travel looking for medical plants in other countries there might help him.
One day, he goes to the land of fire, but Miyomi can't make it. There's unrest in the Boonies. She needs to be there for it. He goes alone. The trip goes well, and Ryoku learns a lot. In fact, he thinks he can recover his body with these new plants.
He travels back home. The village is rubble. Boondocks has been destroyed. He rushed inside, searching fruitlessly for survivors. He finds none. He is the last of his village. His searching brings him to his home, where he finds the corpse of how wife.
Hollow, he leaves. Defeated, he goes to Konoha, who eventually accepts him as a ninja. He's still recovering from his losses, but he now wants to find out what happened to his home.
Personality: Ryoku is generally a kind, gentle man. Soft spoken, he doesn't feel the need to really reach out to others, though he is always willing to lend a hand. He tries to remain in the background, content to observe everything that is going on.
He has a fondness for children, knowing that he'll never be able to have his own. He is very good with kids, and is very patient and understanding with them. He enjoys helping out at the academy because of this. He doesn't think he could bring himself to harm a child, which could end up being a major weakness.
Though he is easy going, he doesn't give out his trust easily. He'll be friendly and cordial to everyone he meets, but he still holds people at arm's length. He's always on guard, as he doesn't feel like he really fits in, being a foreigner.
He enjoys relaxing in silence, maybe with some classical music. He prefers fine wines over beer. He likes to study and learn new ideas and philosophies. He's allergic to dogs, and much prefers the company of birds.
