Awakening of the Woman in Threads Empty Awakening of the Woman in Threads

Post by Copycat Sun Mar 25, 2018 3:17 am

[OOC: Finally doing a thread for this. Would've probably threaded this out with Izumi but I'm pretty sure he's been occupied.]
    ----------
Barely audible beeps of hospital machinery are the first thing that resonate into her consciousness. And shortly after, her partially-recovered physique lapses into her mind... with the sensation of pain slipping into her senses. She tried to sit up, but her body felt so weak and inferior to what she was used to. Her gaze remains locked onto the ceiling, blurry and still getting used to being utilized again. She's stuck in an agonizing situation, without nothing to quell the constant sharp, bodily aches pinging her brain.

Thoughts are naught but a steady process. The most that she can manage is one--one steady one at a time, and oft it's interrupted by the pain that erupts into her senses again. Her throat feels incredibly dry--as if she'd been in a desert for a week. As she attempts to speak up in an effort to get aid in what she assumes to be a hospital, nothing comes up.

Kanna still tries to shift herself, attempting to pull herself onto her side. All she manages to do is pry a few wires attached to her frame free. The dull beeps that occasionally went off suddenly begin to pound away at her already-weakened sense of hearing, causing her movement to go stagnant. They grow louder and more frequent, drumming away in her mind and disrupting her bare unease.

What energy she had suddenly finds itself slipping away from her clutches. She desperately tries to clench onto it and hold it close--praying that it would stay with her. Afraid that she'd lose her life. Her thoughts begin to race like her heart, but instead of being a conscious effort they're merely something her brain demands of her:

    Recollection.

Sound in its fullest replays itself in her head, while she's plagued with the sight of trying to fend herself against numerous shinobi... or well, anomalies at once. Tall, thin figures drenched in black cloaks and masks with red lining and animalistic nature to them. They all attacked her when she'd least expected it--right in the midst of one of her usual training sessions in one of the barely populated training fields of Konoha.

Once again the sight of a hammer swinging down upon her flashes before her vision. The feeling of senbon pincushioning her back as she tries to fight back get into her mind. Followed by the sensation of those very senbon digging even deeper into her as she was flung into a tree after being coiled in chains. And then the final mark of disrespect and.. the least unexpected. Kanna felt it again. Her body laying on its back, drenched in a pool of its own blood--littered with black and blue bruises, lacerations, and broken bones.

Strangely enough? They'd never aimed for anything vital prior to the "finale" of their malicious intentions. She still remembered a gentle, gloved, feminine-looking hand snake out from one of the cloaked persons, but not the mask they bore. It pressed palmfirst against her chest--before the feeling of pins and needles tore through the entirety of her body. Beneath the sensation that'd been enough to send her body into shock from all the pain, a new substance found itself wedging into her body, tucking itself in nooks and crannies. Interweaving itself with her organs, broken bones, muscles---everything.

It was the last thing that she'd felt physically. Emotionally and mentally, she was afraid and regretful. Afraid that she was going to die, and that this was going to happen to everyone else in the village. Sure the higher-ups could probably manage against the threat, but what if they ganged up on them one by one, and slayed them as they did her? The regret that resided in her mind was a result of the feeling that she could've prevented this. If she'd just been stronger...

But alas, here she was. And here was Konoha--not destroyed, but safe and sound. Or so it seemed so far. Little did she know, it might as well have been at this point; in a metaphoric sense.

Awakening of the Woman in Threads Empty Re: Awakening of the Woman in Threads

Suddenly, faint noise slipped into her mind. Varying pitches and varying volumes... voices. They were all nearby. Close. Rushing and moving about. It came in waves... until finally there was nothing left. Just the feeling that someone was residing over her. Gazing at her. She slowly pries her eyes open--the room dim. It was midnight. The familiar tall figure with a feminine hand stood there, covering the upper half of their mask, while the lower half showed itself--bearing an elongated pair of lips forced into a smile.

Fear pulses through her and her entire body tenses, as the hand lowers itself upon her. They came back to finish the job! She tried to cry for help--out of a conscious desire to live, but her voice still didn't resonate. All that did was a mere croak. Claws are beared, and suddenly the hand snakes out much quicker, prompting her to slam her eyes shut, not wanting to see what was going to give her "sweet" release. But nothing happens. She pauses, and opens her eyes, instead met with the sight of a plastic glove casting her hair aside.

The room was entirely lit--to the point that it hurt her eyes to see the lights on. But it was obviously a doctor, along with a nurse. Both by her bed and carefully examining her. She shuts her eyes again, untensing her body and allowing the pain it rewards her for being so blunt with using it to slip into her. But this time it was much more duller.

"It's a miracle you're alive, Miss Tohsaka." Tohsaka. That was the first time she heard her surname in awhile. Kanna Tohsaka... they must've looked at her records.

"..." She clears her throat, trying to speak. It still hurts to try and use it, but it's much less dry.

"I---" Fingers are pressed to her chapped lips, beckoning her to hush. The doctor looks to be in his mid-thirties, with slicked back brown hair reaching the nape of his neck, hollowed cheeks, a thick-bridged nose and pale skin matching a brittle frame. He was bearing the usual coat, along with a black, gray-striped dress shirt beneath, contrasted by a white tie. Small, round glasses rest upon his nose. For the most part, she can't see his features, yet, only knowing he has plastic gloves on.

She turns her head to her side for a moment, just trying to relax while the painkillers are still pumping into her system, thanks to the wiring hooked back to her body.

"Now now. You're still recovering. Your body's been exhibiting... odd habits. Habits that prompted you to prevent us from being able to treat you properly. Luckily though, nothing seems to be internally serious. Or at the very least, internal injuries have been repaired. There's... oddities showing up in your body. Conjoined threads that manifest as tendrils that expose themselves when your body is met with stress, beit physical, emotional or mental. They appeared to try and ward us off everytime you tensed up while unconsci--man.. is she out again?" He nudges her shoulder, but she gives no response.. causing him to sigh exasperatedly.

"Honestly... you should be appreciative. I would've had better luck getting a normal patient... not some damn Chuunin that looked like she was thrown into a shredder when she was brought here."

The man turns his back, beginning to stride away with one hand primed in his pocket, pulling out a cylindrical object and flicking it. She opens her eyes at the sound, watching with heavily blurred vision as the flame was raised to a cigarette primed between his lips. "Fuckin' christ. Bitch is probably out cold again. Fuck's the point in bein' nice to someone who's just gonna die? Everyone's been dyin' recently. She's no exception. All that weird shit up in her.... probably went and did something dumb. Shitty kunoichi these days.." He murmurs, whilst the nurse in the room attempts to dissuade him from irritation.

    "Calm down, Aritaka-sa--"

"Shut the fuck up. You know how little they're paying me for this shit? Ain't doing anything but running around a graveyard. I shoulda taken my career abroad and stayed in a little village or something. At least they ain't got a bunch of military forces up in their hospitals 'cause of their fuckups." Kanna's eyes snap open at that point, a foreign malignance easing into her slowly-gathered thoughts. She barely shifts her body, at the very least trying to get herself at an angle she can settle her gaze upon the doctor with. Anger started to stir in her.

    Bitch.
    Just going to die.
Probably went and did something dumb.
    Shitty kunoichi.
    Their fuckups.

Once again, she felt her body tensing up involuntarily--just as he had mentioned. It wasn't out of fear or stress like it was when she was having what she now confirmed as nightmares of what happened. Instead, it was due to malice. "... s... hut up." She mutters, barely sitting up within the hospital bed. He snaps his gaze around, squinting at her and prying the cigar from between his lips. "So you were awake. Unappreciative shit." He regards her with respective malice, ambling over at her with a smirk. Beyond the numbness of her body was a wriggling sensation within her palm.

The male tosses the cig down and snuffs it out with the sole of his shoe, while grabbing something off of the table. A syringe. He continues approaching her at that point. "Man.. what really is the point of treating a patient that's just going to be unappreciative about it? You were better silent. Go to sleep again!" He thrusts his arm forth, syringe primed for her own. Out of instinct, she throws her own arm up--or attempts to. She's as good as incapable of controlling it, though, leaving her to merely gaze at him hatefully as he nears her with it, preparing to lay her out for a good few hours again.

Suddenly, a searing sensation perviates the numbness in her body--specifically her hand. Conjoined black threads rip themselves from the confines of her body, exitting through her palm and proceeding to thrust into his forearm, snagging him back by rooting his arm against the wall. He drops the syringe on the floor, left dangling by his limb while collapsed against the countertop nearby. "F-fuck...! You... repulsive, abhorrent MONST--"

"G-GAAAH..!" He clutches his bleeding forearm as the grudge tendril rips itself back out, priming itself at his neck but not striking. "Le...ave... unl..es...s you wa..nt to.... sle..ep. Perma..nently. Tha..t's an... order---fro...m this..... shitty kunoi...chi. No... Chuunin." His half-hateful, half-frightened gaze locks onto her for a moment, before he promptly flees the room, cradling his arm. The threads recede back into her from where they left her palm, and at last she drops back, her energy sucked from her again.

She ignores the nurse.. whom is left looking at her in fear, quietly regarding her as what the doctor called her.

    A monster.

A single blue egg with pink stripes falls from the ceiling and onto Kanna's lap.

The last month or so she'd spent within this hospital wasn't one where she was comatose... at least not for all of it. When her body wasn't forcing her to sleep so it could recover, she was doing her best to get a handle on just what this new addition to it was, so to speak.

That's exactly what she happens to be doing at the moment. In spite of her disheveled, black locks flowing about everywhere and her gaze swiveling about. With her contacts gone and removed, the bright, emerald green gaze that she initially harbored was replaced with slightly more duller, amber-toned irises. An inquisitive stare pans itself to her palm.

As usual, wires and such are connected to her arms and her upper body, with the white hospital robes draped upon her pallor frame. Slowly but surely, a tinge of pain starts to resonate within her palm, causing her to clench her teeth together. Kanna steadily works her way through dealing with the progressive throbbing sensation within her hand, up until the threads finally pierce the skin, sending a shiver through her spine. She'd practiced it so much.. and yet it still hurt. A lot, in fact.

The threads start to collectively slip out, snaking across the hospital bed before finally quickening their pace. They latch onto the door handle, tightening around it and constricting. With some prying and some shifts, she slowly turns it, utilizing the threads. A wave of dizziness washes over the female, prompting her to retract the threads this time around. Similar to before, Kanna utilizes some of them in a mannerism similar to stitches, sealing up the wound. Her other palm was stitched in the same manner.

Slowly but surely, the Chuunin pushes herself from the posture she maintained for months. It was a miracle that she was still alive.. and the last thing she'd do is put that miracle to waste. Kanna limps her way along, leaning onto nearby structures for support while her body aches from laying in the bed for too long. She changes out of her hospital robes and slips into black pants, sandals and a gray tank top.

Arm warmers are tucked into place upon her wrists, and lastly, a dark gray poncho's slipped upon her upper body, keeping her warm. She slips the green-irised contacts back into place and puts her hair into a ponytail, pushing her bangs off to the right side of her face. From there, the fully-garbed woman leaves her room. After getting things sorted out and such---mostly paperwork and what not, the black-haired female checks out, and makes her way into the rest of the village that she's yet to see in awhile.

    (exit)
