[OOC: Finally doing a thread for this. Would've probably threaded this out with Izumi but I'm pretty sure he's been occupied.]

Barely audible beeps of hospital machinery are the first thing that resonate into her consciousness. And shortly after, her partially-recovered physique lapses into her mind... with the sensation of pain slipping into her senses. She tried to sit up, but her body felt so weak and inferior to what she was used to. Her gaze remains locked onto the ceiling, blurry and still getting used to being utilized again. She's stuck in an agonizing situation, without nothing to quell the constant sharp, bodily aches pinging her brain.
Thoughts are naught but a steady process. The most that she can manage is one--one steady one at a time, and oft it's interrupted by the pain that erupts into her senses again. Her throat feels incredibly dry--as if she'd been in a desert for a week. As she attempts to speak up in an effort to get aid in what she assumes to be a hospital, nothing comes up.
Kanna still tries to shift herself, attempting to pull herself onto her side. All she manages to do is pry a few wires attached to her frame free. The dull beeps that occasionally went off suddenly begin to pound away at her already-weakened sense of hearing, causing her movement to go stagnant. They grow louder and more frequent, drumming away in her mind and disrupting her bare unease.
What energy she had suddenly finds itself slipping away from her clutches. She desperately tries to clench onto it and hold it close--praying that it would stay with her. Afraid that she'd lose her life. Her thoughts begin to race like her heart, but instead of being a conscious effort they're merely something her brain demands of her:
Recollection.
Sound in its fullest replays itself in her head, while she's plagued with the sight of trying to fend herself against numerous shinobi... or well, anomalies at once. Tall, thin figures drenched in black cloaks and masks with red lining and animalistic nature to them. They all attacked her when she'd least expected it--right in the midst of one of her usual training sessions in one of the barely populated training fields of Konoha.
Once again the sight of a hammer swinging down upon her flashes before her vision. The feeling of senbon pincushioning her back as she tries to fight back get into her mind. Followed by the sensation of those very senbon digging even deeper into her as she was flung into a tree after being coiled in chains. And then the final mark of disrespect and.. the least unexpected. Kanna felt it again. Her body laying on its back, drenched in a pool of its own blood--littered with black and blue bruises, lacerations, and broken bones.
Strangely enough? They'd never aimed for anything vital prior to the "finale" of their malicious intentions. She still remembered a gentle, gloved, feminine-looking hand snake out from one of the cloaked persons, but not the mask they bore. It pressed palmfirst against her chest--before the feeling of pins and needles tore through the entirety of her body. Beneath the sensation that'd been enough to send her body into shock from all the pain, a new substance found itself wedging into her body, tucking itself in nooks and crannies. Interweaving itself with her organs, broken bones, muscles---everything.
It was the last thing that she'd felt physically. Emotionally and mentally, she was afraid and regretful. Afraid that she was going to die, and that this was going to happen to everyone else in the village. Sure the higher-ups could probably manage against the threat, but what if they ganged up on them one by one, and slayed them as they did her? The regret that resided in her mind was a result of the feeling that she could've prevented this. If she'd just been stronger...
But alas, here she was. And here was Konoha--not destroyed, but safe and sound. Or so it seemed so far. Little did she know, it might as well have been at this point; in a metaphoric sense.
