Hibiki listened intently as Ghost introduced himself and shared his ambitions for his clan and Iwagakure. She admired his passion and determination, feeling a sense of camaraderie with someone who was also striving to make a difference. As he finished speaking, she smiled warmly at him.
"Thank you, Ghost. It's really inspiring to hear about your dedication to your clan and your village," she said sincerely. “I'm glad to meet you."
She took a moment to consider his invitation to visit Iwagakure, feeling a pang of curiosity about the place she had never really known. "I would love to visit Iwagakure someday. Even though I grew up elsewhere there's a part of me that's always been curious about where I came from. It's strange, but it's like a part of me is drawn to it, even if I don't remember it."
Hibiki picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of some gyoza, savouring the warm, comforting flavors. As she continued, her tone was thoughtful. "I think it's important to understand our roots, even if we didn't grow up there. Maybe one day, I'll take you up on that offer and see Iwagakure for myself."
With a playful smile, she added, "But for now, I'm here to represent the Leaf and make new friends. And I have to say, I'm really enjoying getting to know you all."
As she raised her glass of sake, she felt the familiar warmth spreading through her again, making her feel bolder. "To new beginnings and to building bridges," she said, her voice bright and hopeful, "whether between villages or between people."
Taking a sip, she felt the familiar warmth spreading through her again, making her feel bolder. "So, Ghost," she continued with a grin, "tell me more about your clan's abilities. I've never heard of anything like a clay technique before. It sounds amazing!"
When Yamato introduced himself Hibiki's eyes widened, and she nearly choked on her food. She looked back and forth between Ghost and Yamato, her brain trying to process what she had just heard. "Wait, wait, wait!" she exclaimed, her voice louder than intended. "Did you just say... Tsuchikage?!"
She stared at Yamato, her mouth agape, as if seeing him for the first time. "You're the Tsuchikage?!" she repeated, her tone a mix of shock and disbelief. She suddenly stood up, nearly knocking over her chair in her excitement. "I thought you were just a really chill guy enjoying a party!"
Her mind raced back to when she had first reported to duty and had once thought the Tsuchikage was some kind of exotic bird. "Oh my gosh," she blurted out, laughing at herself. "I used to think the Tsuchikage was a type of bird! You know, like a really rare, majestic bird! It wasn't until recently that I found out what a Kage actually was!"
She turned to Ghost, eyes wide with excitement. "Did you know? Did you know he was the Tsuchikage this whole time and didn't say anything?!" She looked back at Yamato, still in disbelief. "I feel like I should bow or something... Do I need to bow? I'm gonna bow."
Hibiki made an exaggerated, theatrical bow the straightened up, her cheeks flushed from a mix of sake and embarrassment. "Okay, okay, I'm calm now," she said, taking a deep breath. "It's just... wow. You're the Tsuchikage."
Still reeling from the revelation, she sat back down, shaking her head in amazement. "This has got to be the craziest night ever," she muttered to herself, then looked up at Yamato with a huge grin. "You know what, Tsuchikage-sama? You're pretty cool." She raised her glass of sake again, as if toasting to her newfound knowledge and the unexpected turn of events. "To unexpected surprises and making new friends! And to the Tsuchikage who, apparently, is not a bird!"
