“Thank you for the missions Ms….” Hibiki said fishing for a name while giving the receptionist a polite bow. She was so nice that she had to be an angel, no a goddess.

“You can call me Ms. Stella.” replied the receptionist with the warmest, most caring smile she had given for the day so far. It was a good thing she was so easy to get along with since they’d likely be seeing quite a lot of each other in the coming days since Hibiki intended to tackle as many D-rank missions as she could. Enough to force even people like Zebas to admit that she was good at her job.

Picking up the notes she read the address of this Happy Puppy place, noting that it was located in the secondary market district. That was Interesting. Hibiki had been to the primary district before but never the secondary one. She was looking forward to seeing how the two differed.

“Well then, I wish you luck on your Missions Hibiki-chan. Have fun.” said Stella with a wave bidding Hibiki farewell. All together the consultation had been short, only a few minutes had elapsed but to Hibiki they felt like more meaningful moments then usual. She’d gained quite a bit from such a simple conversation.

She could have just given up getting a mission upon discovering that she couldn’t make out most of the notes, but instead she had pushed herself by asking for assistance. It went to show there was always something to gain by making an effort. In the end she’d been assigned not one, but TWO missions involving dogs. Who knew ninjas could double as dog whisperers.

Leaving the mission office and her new friend Stella behind Hibiki made her way down the street. Normally it would be bustling with people around here but in the wake of the bijuu attack things around the office where quite as a good chunk of the adult ninja had been dispatched for rescue and recovery.

Really it was only the younger exam bound gennin like Hibiki that had free time on their hands. Time that was meant to be used either honing their skills training or preparing new equipment. In all honesty taking on some mundane D-rank missions probably wasn’t the best use of the finite time she had been granted to get ready, though then again the extra money she would earn could probably get her some extra supplies as well so it wouldn’t be entirely wasted either.

Before long Hibiki arrived at the secondary market district which was a heck of a lot busier than the administrative one had been. There were so many people gathered that she was agog at the spectacle of it all. There were so many new and wonderful sights and sounds that she had never encountered before. She could spend weeks, maybe even months just exploring this one part of the village but alas she had missions to accomplish.

Arriving at her destination Hibiki took note of the cartoon mascot on the sign. It was very charming. Perhaps even adorable. Just seeing it was enough to bring a grin to her face. It was cute but nothing could prepare her for what awaited her inside as she stepped thought a wooden gate and onto the property.

As the teenage girl rounded the corner, her eyes widened in delight as she caught sight of the fluffy bundle of black and white fur romping in the grass. A gasp of sheer joy escaped her lips as she approached, her heart skipping a beat at the sight of the puppy. What was this adorable little creature? She’d seen dogs before but never anything like this.

With a contagious giggle, she dropped to her knees, her hands outstretched in eager anticipation. The puppy bounded towards her, its tail wagging furiously as it showered her with slobbery kisses.
"Hi there, little guy!" Hibiki exclaimed, her voice filled with unbridled enthusiasm. "You're just the cutest thing I've ever seen!"

She scooped the puppy into her arms, cradling it close as she reveled in the softness of its fur and the warmth of its tiny body. Her heart, which was usually tepid swelled with love as she gazed into its trusting eyes, feeling an instant connection that she knew would last a lifetime.

In that moment, the cares of the world melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of joy and wonder. For Hibiki seeing a puppy for the first time was nothing short of pure magic,a moment she would cherish forever.

“Ah you must be the helper we requested.” spoke a voice from behind Hibiki that had her scrambling to her feet in a hurry, the puppy still in her arms. She’d been so focused on the furry creature upon spotting it that she hadn’t even noticed that it’s caretaker had been present. With a click of her tongue she chided herself for her carelessness. She’d been snuck up on a few too many times recently for her taste. It was pivotal that she be more vigilant. Otherwise someone was going to end up paying for her next lapse.

“Which mission are you here for? The Dog Walking or the Dog grooming?” asked the caretaker as he casually took the puppy from her arms much to her disappointment though she tried to keep that from showing on her face. Much as she wanted to bring the puppy home with her, the apartment complex was a no pet zone. Most of the people living there had a hard enough time just taking care of themselves let alone another sentient being.

One of Hibiki’s dreams was to open an orphanage but she had a lot of work to do learning about the world and herself before anyone would entrust children to her for longer than an afternoon at best.

“Both actually.” she exclaimed, eager to get started if it meant getting to spend more time with her new furry friend.

“Oh that’s a big help. Thank you Lass.” said the caretaker with a grateful smile. “I can never seem to find enough permanent staff but I get a lot of help from repeat mission takers." The man explained as he led her through the yard to several kennels, most of which were unoccupied at the moment. The caretaker pointed at one that had two occupants at the moment. One brown and the other a dirty blond.

“If you could please take Cooper, Bailey and Orio here for a spin around the neighbourhood then give em a proper wash and a brushing, I'll consider it a mission accomplished for the day. Just remember that next time I”ll probably ask you to handle more of the critters.” the man said much to Hibiki’s disbelief. She was getting to take care of not just one but Three puppies and there was going to be a next time? The prospect was sheer and utter bliss.

In a cozy backyard filled with the warmth of a sunny afternoon, Hibiki eagerly prepared to introduce three playful puppies to their very first collars. With a basket of colorful accessories at her side she knelt down beside the wriggling trio, their tails wagging with anticipation.

With unusually gentle hands for her, Hibiki carefully selected a collar for each puppy, taking care to match the color to their unique personalities. Perhaps the mischievous Bailey would get a bright red collar, while the more laid-back Oiro would receive a calming shade of blue, and the adventurous Cooper would be adorned with a vibrant green.

As Hibiki fastened each collar around their necks, the puppies squirmed and wriggled with excitement, their tongues lolling out in happy panting. Her face lit up with joy as she watched them proudly strut around, feeling the weight of their new accessories.

With their collars securely in place, the puppies seemed to stand a little taller, their newfound sense of identity evident in their playful barks and wags. Hibiki can't help but laugh at their antics, feeling a deep sense of connection to her furry companions.

In the simple act of putting on collars for them she felt like the bond between them was being strengthened marking the beginning of their adventure together.

With the colorful collars securely adorning the necks of the three puppies, Hibiki reached for the next step in their adventure. Moving swiftly she retrieved three matching leashes from a nearby bench, each one complementing the vibrant hues of the puppies' collars.

As Hibiki approached the puppies with leashes in hand, their curiosity peaked noses twitching with interest. With unpracticed hands, she slowly attached a leash to each collar, ensuring a snug fit without causing any discomfort. The puppies, sensing the new addition to their ensemble, started to ounce with excitement, eager to explore the world beyond the backyard.

With a smile on her face, Hibiki took a moment to admire the sight before her. Three puppies, each sporting a colorful collar and leash, ready to embark. She felt a sense of pride swell within her chest, knowing that she was playing a vital role in guiding and caring for her furry companions.

With a gentle tug on the leashes, the Hibiki encouraged the puppies to follow her lead as they venture out into the world . Their tails wag furiously as they trot alongside her, their paws padding softly against the ground.

As they wander down the road, the girl can't help but feel a sense of excitement for the path that lay ahead of them. With her loyal companions by her side every step they took together would be filled with joy and laughter. As the group disappeared around the bend of the road together, the sun cast a warm glow over them, as if wishing them blessings.

As the Hibiki and her trio of puppies wandered further along the path, enjoying the sunshine and the breeze rustling through the trees they came to a sudden halt as the puppies discovered a new fascinating activity, exploring the grassy terrain that lay on the side of the road.

With wagging tails and noses to the ground, the puppies eagerly sniffed around, investigating every blade of grass searching for hidden treasure buried beneath. It was all fun and games until nature called and one by one, the puppies paused to do their business.

Hibiki felt momentarily taken aback by this unexpected turn of events. Quickly she realized that it was time for her to face up to a new responsibility, picking up after her furry friends for the first time. Summoning her courage, she reaches for the handy poop bags she had thankfully remembered to bring along. She was determined to tackle this task with as much grace and dignity as she could muster.

Taking a deep breath, she approached the first pile, gingerly scooping it up with practiced precision, her face a mix of determination and mild disgust. The puppies, oblivious to her newfound duty, continue their playful antics, chasing each other in circles and yipping with glee.

Undeterred, Hibiki moved on to the next pile, and then the next, until each trace of their bathroom break has been neatly contained within the confines of the poop bags. It wasn't the most appealing part of looking after some pets, but she knew it was essential. All part of caring for her furry companions and keeping their surroundings clean and pleasant for everyone.

With the dirty task finally complete, Hibiki tied off the last bag with a sense of accomplishment, a smile playing at the corners of her lips. Despite the less than glamorous nature of the chore, she felt a newfound sense of responsibility and connection to the puppies. She was willing to do whatever it took to ensure their happiness and well being while they were under her care.

As they resumed their journey down the path Hibiki strode forward with confidence, the puppies bounding happily at her side. Together they began to make their way back home, their spirits buoyed by the miniature adventure that they had shared together.

As they approach the now familiar sight of the puppies home Hibiki can't help but feel a swell of gratitude for the furry critters by her side. Together, they've faced new challenges, learned valuable lessons, and forged a connection that went beyond mere words. . From putting on their first collars to handling her first cleanup duty, it's been a day filled with laughter, love, and growth.

With a sense of peace settling over her, Hibiki opened the gate to their backyard, welcoming the puppies back into their familiar domain. Now content and a little tuckered out from their outing they ran ahead, tails wagging with excitement as they anticipated the comforts of home.

As much as she wanted to she couldn’t let them rest quite yet. Her first mission had been fulfilled…. Or was it Fur-filled? Either way she had a second mission to complete with her furry friends. Only once that was accomplished could she allow them to curl up for a well deserved nap.

It was well and truly time to give the puppies some tender loving care. With a heart full of affection, Hibiki went inside the business to gather some grooming supplies in order to prepare to pamper her furry friends.

Returning with a basket in hand Hibiki lead the puppies to a cozy corner of the house, spreading out a soft blanket where they can relax and enjoy the grooming session. The puppies, sensing the loving attention about to be bestowed upon them, eagerly settled down their tails wagging in anticipation.

With a soft brush in hand, Hibiki began the grooming process starting with Bailey, the mischievous puppy with the bright red collar. She carefully brushed through his fur, removing any tangles leaving it soft and shiny. Bailey leaned into her touch, his eyes closing in blissful contentment.

Next, Hibiki moved on to Orio, the laid-back puppy with the calming blue collar. Gently she ran the brush through his fur with slow, soothing strokes, causing him to let out a contented sigh, completely relaxed in her care.

Finally, she turns her attention to Cooper, the adventurous puppy with the vibrant green collar. He can hardly sit still with excitement. With a patient hand, she gently brushed through his fur, laughing at his playful antics as he tried to chase the brush.

As she worked Hibik took the time to inspect each of the puppies closely. She was checking for any signs of discomfort or for any health issues. While her eye was untrained for such things she wanted to ensure that they were happy and healthy from nose to tail.

Before long the grooming session was complete. The three puppies now looked and felt like a million bucks, their coats gleaming and their spirits lifted. With grateful licks to her hands and cheeks , they showered appreciation on Hibiki for her care and attention.

As her mission drew to a close, Hibiki watched the puppies curl up together on their blanket, their closeness a testament to the love and companionship they shared. With a sigh of longing she knew that no matter what tomorrow may bring, the puppies would face it together as a family…a family without her.

Settling down beside them, Hibiki felt grateful for the simple joys of life and the unconditional love they had shown her, even if it wasn’t the true companionship that she was secretly seeking. Pinching her cheek to remind herself that this was nothing more than a mission for her. Her relationship with the puppies had been nothing more than a pleasant waking dream.

With her jobs complete there wasn’t much reason to keep sticking around. For such simple missions they had taken up a good chunk of her day already. As Hibiki went to leave the building the caretaker called out to her, stopping her in her tracks.

“Good work today lass. Not all temporary workers are good at the job but I’d invite you back again anytime. Until next time.” he said, giving her a friendly wave goodbye. Until next time. Those words repeated in Hibiki’s head over and over again like magic. Perhaps she couldn’t take the puppies home with her or live with them, but at least the option existed for her to see them again sometime in the future.

Back at her apartment Hibiki was explaining the events of her day so far to her frenemy Zebas. She was practically talking the poor guy's ear off.

"First up I had this dog walking gig. Let me tell you trying to keep up with those furry speed demons was a workout in itself. But hey, it was pretty cool getting to explore different parts of the village with my new four-legged friends. Plus, the bonus cuddle time? Absolutely priceless."

"And then, just when I thought my adventure couldn't get any better, bam! I get handed a dog grooming mission. Talk about a makeover mission like no other! So there I am, armed with brushes, giving these pups the spa treatment they deserve. Let me just say ninja skills sure come in handy for grooming. And Who knew fluffing fur could be so satisfying?"

"But hey, all in a day's work for this gal. Dog walking, dog grooming – you name it, I've got it covered. And let me tell you, when it comes to ninja missions, there's no challenge too big or too fluffy for Hibiki the canine conqueror!" she exclaimed, puffing up her ample chest with pride.

Zebas just stared daggers back at her in response. His face looking less then impressed by her tale of triumph. What was it going to take to make this guy praise her? She supposed that would be an another adventure for another day.
