Zakuro usually wasn't an easily-distracted person, but she felt pretty giddy today. It was finally time for her to go pick up a weapon at one of the local blacksmiths, and she already had an idea in mind. Her legs carried her through the streets in long strides, and she only barely avoided knocking a few people over by accident. With a grin on her face she finally made it to the store in question.
Inside, she took some time looking around, trailed by one of the smith's apprentices. Swords... Swords were an option, but she was never a fan of those. Sure, there was a wide variety of them, but their users had a tendency to be pretentious. Spears? Too long. Knives? Too short. Axes? Almost, but she didn't quite like the balance. Then her eyes set on something that caught her interest: a kanabo.
Zakuro pursed her lips as she weighed the heavy weapon in her hand. Oak and iron, perfectly intertwined into a tool of war. A little pretentious, but that didn't change how good it felt in her grip. It was heavier than the training weapons she'd used in the academy, on account of the metal bands around the wood. The apprentice was telling her all about the work that went into it. Fairly typical mercantile blabber, and probably exaggerated. Her parents had taught her all the tricks on making a sale before she even knew her numbers.
Fortunately for him, the product was doing the convincing all by itself. Before long, Kuroyanagi Zakuro walked out of the smithy with her new weapon resting on her shoulder, a pleased whistle on her lips.
