Appearance: Uchiha Ningyo is a slender pale 12 year old girl, with short jet black hair and dark eyes.
History: Born into the Uchiha Clan. Her father is captain in the Uchiha police. Her life has been spent training.
Personality: Ningyo is a subdued and focused person. She is obsessed with efficacy, diet, cryptography, hiding, and movement. Her methodical approach and commitment reaches the level of "OCD". She is the type of person that, when presented with a set of tasks, likes to fully complete every task in the series, and cannot rest until she has.
Roleplay Sample: The Shinobi world is a brutal, utilitarian, ocean of darkness. The village caste-system has long been a plantation-mill for the breeding and armament of nameless soldier-spies. Many of these agents are placed in difficult training from birth and take part in clandestine child military operations and child warfare. Those children lucky enough to survive early skirmishes become mere assassin pawns in the daimyos' matrix of control. Perhaps one day, the daimyos and kages will achieve their ambition to fulfill their sinister prophesies and strange ideologies. Until then the Shinobi world will continue to attempt to create the perfect ninjas, killing machines who obey every order.
Uchiha Ningyo lay upon the operating table in the solid all white room. An adult shinobi in a lab coat stood above her, measuring out a liquid which he put into an eye dropper. Ningyo's eyes lay exposed by a metal apparatus over her eyelids. Before her on a screen, messages and symbols flickered at an endless rate. The blinding information, like computer code, could be seen reflected within the pupils of her eye as the shinobi scientist dropped some of the mysterious liquid in.
"There you go, how is that?" said the medical staff stranger. Picking up a clipboard he read off an item "#CTF007, subroutine; blue47" said the scientist. "feed the dogs chocolate" replied Ningyo. "Butterfly3301; persona 23" read the scientist, "how can I help master?" parroted Ningyo. The scientist shinobi didn't respond, but rather, walked over to a metal table where he gently picked up two circular diodes attached with wire to a module. The scientist paused, "We're going to 'take the elevator down'" he responded finally. Ningyo spoke almost automatically "which floor?" she asked. The scientist lubricated her temples with an amber, iodine-eque gel, attaching the diodes, "floor 13" responded the scientist, he placed a popsicle stick in her mouth.
The handler shinobi played with a dial on a module connected to the diodes, running a small electrical current into Ningyo's brain. Ningyo arched her back and bit down on a popsicle stick. Her arms resisting slightly against the chair's wrist restraints. On a screen behind her a complex 3D map appeared. The handler shinobi studied the map, it appeared to be the map of a maximum security fortress, or possibly the layout of a complex computer security network. the handler spoke hypnotically "I am going to Kansas, where are you from miss Ruby Shoes?" Uchiha Ningyo replied "The Emerald City."
The digital 3D labyrinth of many corridors rotated in glow-in-the-dark around a central carousel. Lights strobed as Ningyo received electrical stimulus. She jerked awake violently, sitting up suddenly. She sat upright in her spartan bed, in her bedroom, within her familial house in the Uchiha sector. She glanced at the alarm clock which flashed, 6:12 a.m. (Today is the day of my Genin exam) she thought. Ningyo began to go about the normal habit of her deeply structured day. Her father and the clan elders had outlined and expected her to follow a training regimen more thorough than that of the average academy student. Since disciplined practice had become her daily routine in academy, she was accustomed to waking up early. She walked into the kitchen where her mother was already awake and cutting vegetables for a soup "You look tired Ningyo, what's wrong?"
"Nothing mom, just a weird dream again." she replied, "I'm going out for practice" a small dog whimpered as Ningyo made her way to the door.
"Let Toto out too, will you?" said her mother.
Ningyo and Toto made their way through the forested area in the twilight morning to the clearing in the woods. Here were a few targets, circular and made of straw, with white, blue, and red circles radiating from the center. She ran through a few uncharged handseals for focus and practice, then putting one foot back in a basic throwing stance she procured a fistful of shuriken. She let the shuriken fly as they hit their targets. Robotically she began to repeat the motions, counting to one thousand. She felt gratification with every bullseye strike, but her face revealed no indication of such satisfaction, and was a uniform mask of single pointed focus.
Hours later the sun had risen, and Ningyo realized it that school would start soon. Today was an all important day, the day of her graduation, so she prepared to arrive early. Ningyo was the first student to make it to class. She sat inconspicuously in the back. Soon some students began piling in giggling and yelling. The teacher demanded silence and handed out the test.
Ningyo began, she answered the questions normally and easily. She turned in the test to the teacher after a few minutes.
"Very good Ningyo" said the teacher then he whispered, "as expected you got all questions correct" he cleared his throat "Now then, let us see the basic jutsu...." he then shouted "Replacement!" the class looked up from their tests.
Ningyo thought back to her father's words;
"The basic jutsu, while not exciting to many shinobi, are the fundamental blocks of ninjutsu"
she did the handseals for the replacement jutsu (Ne!, Ushi!) charging the minimal chakra needed "Kawarimi no jutsu!"
"misdirection, and false attacks guided into the log or dummy targets can create opportunity for counter attack."
where Ningyo was standing a cloud of smoke arose, in it's midst, a log, which dropped to the ground.
The teacher smiled at the practiced execution, a student dropped his pencil fearing his impending turn.
"Transformation Technique!" the teacher called out. Again, Ninyo thought of her father's lecture while performing the seals (Tora!, Ushi!, I!) "Henge no Jutsu!"
.
"during infiltration is is necessary to be able to look as pedestrian as possible, mimicking the patterns and appearance of the enemy. Through the use of chakra and awareness indistinguishable disguise is possible."
As the smoke dispersed, the teacher now faced a mirror of himself, identical in every way. The teacher, though he had performed the graduation ritual with several batches of children, was surprised in the eerie details etched in the likeness before him. He quickly gathered himself to his senses so as not to betray his apparent unease. "Clone Combination!"
Ningyo performed the seals (Ushi ! Uma !)
"There are variations of the clone jutsu, where an image is used to lure an attack, creating an opening. The premise is the same in both Ninjutsu and Genjutsu variations. The difference is subtle."
Passing through the image of the teacher Ningyo rushed forward to attack with her kunai. The teacher almost moved to defend himself instinctively but the image passed through him, merely a Bunshin, the true Ningyo stood standing behind the illusion in the clearing smoke. The teacher laughed "a little flashy Ningyo but I'll allow it, in short the execution was great. Congratulations you are now a Genin of the hidden village of Leaf. As you are the first here to graduate you are dismissed! Go ahead and take the day off if you like, you earned it."
"The essence of the basic techniques have their roots in both the mind and spirit, in misdirection, mimicry and advantage in opportunity. You will solidify the basics with repetition and mastery."
Ningyo excused herself and began stalking her way home. She considered the teacher's words, but she didn't intend to waste a full day of training. This day, like any other, would catalogue itself in the maze of her memories, like a friendly ghost. .
