A Night on the Town

Maverick was nervous walking down the busy street in the shopping district. It had been a while since he had actually gotten to be around Riza. Looking down he pressed the front of his shirt a few times trying to flatten a few wrinkles. He had combed his dark hair back keeping it down with a slight mixture of water and some gel. He had left his jacket at home, it was to dirty and slightly torn from the years. Instead he had decided on a simple black shirt with a traditional Uchiha vest open down the front. He had hoped deep down to impress Riza, this was not an official date. He had just asked her to meet him here so they could spend some time together and catch up.

He turned the corner heading to a small area of food carts where they had decided to meet. His eyes locked upon her almost immediately, his heart skipping a beat. She stood there looking around as if to see him before he saw her. Her hair was done up in a tight bun a few strands hanging loosely here and there. She was wearing a kimono he had never seen before, it was a black floral pattern with red trim around each petal. It was tied together with a matching black and red sash. She looked to be wearing some slight makeup accenting the Inuzuka markings on her face. She was as beautiful as he remembered her being.

"Riza! Hey over here." He waved to her catching her attention. "Maverick hey!" She turned moving toward him as if she was floating just slightly above the ground. He could feel his cheeks flush but tried to hide it with a smile. "It's been a long time Riza how have you been?" He wanted to tell her she looked great but did not know how she would take such a compliment. "I know right? Armstrong and I were sad that you were transferred to a new Sensei. We've gotten a third member but he is still green to the formations." He listened to her talk for a while nodding here and there, interjecting with small stories of his time away from them.

They had been sitting there for a few hours catching up and enjoying a good meal. After he had paid Maverick stood up and offered his arm to his friend. He could see the skin beneath her make up turn a pink hue before she took his arm standing next to him. For a while they just walked, no words exchanged just the enjoyment of each others company. As they turned a corner down a side street Riza put her head on Maverick's shoulder. He could hear his heart beating like a drum in his ear. "Riza I uh.." His words caught in his throat. "He look its the Cosmic Menagerie." He head had shot up looking at the building before them.

In front of Maverick stood an ornate building one that he had seen a few times walking through Konoha. Six massive ornate pillars sculpted from granite held a roof of clay shingles with gold trim thirty feet above the front entrance, even from outside one can feel the mystery calling from inside the double doors. The doors, double pane frosted glass that holds the image of a galaxy within them. If one looked closely at the galaxy they would see that the stars make the words "The Cosmic Menagerie" within it. The shop itself was two stories tall, the stairs located behind the counter at the back of the shop behind the forge area to dissuade customers from trying to enter without permission. The First floor was an open space with a counter that travels along three of the walls with space for the employees to walk behind the counter. The counter is Glass Casing holding small simple items that can be mass produce should one wish it, though the shop also welcomes custom orders as well. Offering a range of Shinobi gear to all Konoha Residence, from armor and weapons to medicine as well as more specialized ninja tools, the Menagerie is a one stop shop for any shinobi looking to gear themselves up.

Walking through the door Maverick looked around in awe. He had never seen a store like this before. The shelves and glass cases were filled with a wide assortment of items, weapons and materials. Riza walked slowly looking over the items hanging on the walls as well as the items on shelves. He heard a gasp then high pitch squeal from across the store. As he made his was through the store he found Riza gipping a stuffed animal wolf with all her might. "Oh my god Maverick look at how adorable this is please can we get it?" He rubbed the back of his head knowing he could never say no to her. "Of course ill get it for you, what will you name it?" She thought for a moment before smiling. "Kubi." She said in a matter of fact manner.

After they had looked around Maverick made his way to the counter placing an order for him to pick up after a week or so. As they made their way through the late night streets he held Riza's hand with her head again rested on his shoulder. They stopped in front of her house both at a loss for words on what to say. "I had a good time tonight Mav, it was good seeing you. Don't be a stranger okay?" She leaned in her lips brushing against his in a soft quick kiss. "Goodnight!" She turned around running to her door a black wolf plushie under one arm. The next time he would be sure to make it special.

Joben would take the young male's order and would hand over the black wolf stuffed animal, the 100 Shuriken, and the cloak before telling the man that the other two items would be ready in 2 week time and to come back then to get them. Once the pair had left the shop, Joben would send his apprentice to fetch the items that he needed and set to work on the crafting of the Jade Pendant and Ebony Tanto
