Exiting her Mayfly right outside of the mines, Diana didn't even need to activate her chakra sensory to feel the negative emotions in the air. The rumor of the place having been taken over by bandits seemed to indeed be true, and that would simply not do. Transforming into Nue, she'd sink back into the ground as a massive beast before moving into the mines themselves. It was something she had tested out a while back, but even as Nue she had found that Mayfly would work with even a large beast transformation, though it felt very, very strange. As she approached the first two guards, she'd use her massive paws to quickly slide out of the earth, grab them both, and pull them into the wall to kill them before slipping back into the earth like nothing happened.
It felt strange using Nue's transformation & mayfly together as she went about taking out more bandits, like being squeezed through several tubes at once, yet not being painful in the slightest; she didn't really have a good way to describe it outside of that. And as she took out several more bandits who were currently drinking together with hostages in makeshift cages. It was easy work, just like the previous missions she had preformed before, but it was boring. Saving people's lives alongside the land they worked in should not be boring, and yet here she was, an ember of frustration keeping her moving forward from the lack of any challenging fights. And it didn't help that her old self would have loved this sort of thing, being able to help people without needing to worry about being hurt! Ever sense she had awoken to the power of her third bloodline and subsequently losing it, it was almost like her subconscious was trying to make up for that loss but never could.
Eventually she had cleared out the mines of bandits, where she would then revert to her human self and begin undoing the restraints the hostages were being held in. They thanked her profusely, but she felt hollow, like what she had done didn't make a lick of difference. this wasn't the first time the mines had been captured, and it wouldn't be the last.
Her work would never finish it would seem, and as she freed the last miner she'd simply walk out of the mines, more missions to be fulliled.
More people that needed to be saved.
